In this paper, we have considered a model of our universe containing five components as its constituents. Then, we have done here the statefinder diagnostics for this model. This model can successfully explain the accelerated expansion of the universe given that it satisfies a certain condition. Here we have considered the modified Chaplygin gas as the dynamically changing part of the dark energy component of our universe. Chaplygin gas provides early deceleration and late time acceleration of the universe. The graphical representation of statefinder parameters shows that the total evolution of the universe starts from radiation era to phantom model.  相似文献

An improved correlation between maximum sunspot number (SSNM) and the preceding minimum (SSNm) is reported when the monthly mean sunspot numbers are smoothed with a 13-month running window. This relation allows prediction of the amplitude of a sunspot cycle by making use of the sunspot data alone. The estimated smoothed maximum sunspot number (126±26) and time of maximum epoch (second half of 2000) of cycle 23 are in good agreement with the predictions made by some of the precursor methods.  相似文献

Dunes have similar morphologies on the Earth and Mars. The main differences between Martian and terrestrial dunes are their size, which is larger on Mars, and their duration of formation, which is longer on Mars. As the characteristic time of Martian dunes is in the same order as that of the Martian climatic oscillations, Martian dunes could be recorders of past winds regimes and past climates. In order to test this hypothesis, we performed a morphological study of 550 dune fields with high resolution images and we inferred the directions of the dune formative winds from the orientation of the dune slip faces. Our study shows that 310 dune fields record one to four distinct wind directions with some geometric patterns that do not exist on the Earth such as barchans built by opposite wind directions coexisting in the same dune field. Our study demonstrates that the inferred formative wind directions are only partially in agreement with the current wind-patterns predicted by General Circulation Models (GCM). Several possible causes for the misalignment between dunes and GCM outputs are discussed: these include the local variation of the global circulation due to local topographic effects or the possibility that these dunes could be in a transient geometry or fossil. Such bedforms are considered indeed to be not in equilibrium with the present-day atmospheric conditions. This latter hypothesis is supported by the presence, in some ergs, of closely spaced dunes showing nearly opposite slip face orientations. Therefore, we propose that Martian dune fields are constituted, in some cases, by active and fossil dunes and therefore have the potential to preserve information on paleoclimates over extensive periods.  相似文献

The photo-gravitational problems of two or more bodies have attracted much attention during the last decades. In this paper, radiation is considered as an additional factor influencing the particle motion in a regular polygon formation of N big bodies where the ν = Ν ? 1 primary bodies have equal masses and are located at the vertices of a regular polygon and the Nth primary has different mass and is located at the mass center of the system. We assume that some or all the primary bodies are radiation sources and we numerically explore various cases where symmetry of the resultant force field with respect to the same axis is preserved. For the purposes of our investigation we adopt Radzievski’s theory and assumptions. The material gathered helps us to estimate the radiation effect on the evolution of periodic orbits and their characteristics, such as their periods and their stability. Figures and diagrams illustrate these alterations and document our conclusions.  相似文献

A spectrum of Jupiter in the two micron region has been analyzed to determine the Jovian ammonia abundance. The result is a ?4 cm - amagat, assuming an airmass factor η = 2.5 and a single effective reflecting layer for this wavelength. Evolutionary sequences are computed from the main sequence to central helium exhaustion for a 15M star, with an initial composition ofX=0.70,Y=0.27,Z=0.03. Parallel sequences are computed to investigate the effects of different mass loss rates on the evolution of the star. These rates are chosen to reflect the physical causes of the mass loss, and occur at all phases of evolution. One sequence without, and one with, mass loss are recomputed, allowing for semiconvection and full convection in intermediate mass zones, using the Schwarzschild and Härm criterion for convective neutrality.Low to moderate rates of mass loss in the early evolutionary phases shift the evolution to lower luminosities and effective temperatures, but do not radically alter the form of evolution. However, the resulting evolutionary sequences can be up to 25% undermassive for their luminosity as they enter the red giant branch (RGB). Most sequences evolve through a subsequent stable blue phase (the blue loop), which is shifted to lower luminosities and effective temperatures by the previous mass loss and is also widened. This blue loop is suppressed if approximately 10% of the stellar mass is lost in the RGB. Mass loss delays the evolution of the central region of the star relative to that of the outer region, so that central helium ignition and exhaustion are displaced to later points on the evolutionary tracks. Mass loss also reduces the size of the helium core, although its mass fraction is larger.If semiconvective and intermediate fully convective zones are included, then in a sequence without mass loss these zones greatly alter the chemical profile of the model. The sequence evolves at a higher luminosity, with a stable blue supergiant phase occurring prior to the RGB. Central helium exhaustion occurs during the ascent of the RGB. However, if mass loss is included, the extent of these zones is drastically reduced, and the evolutionary pattern is similar to that without such zones. No blue loop is found.Observations indicate that the blue supergiant region is wider and bluer than predicted by previous evolutionary calculations. The present results show that mass loss widens and reddens this phase. Hence, the inclusion of other factors will be necessary to reconcile theory and observations.  相似文献

Potentially hazardous near-Earth objects which can impose a significant threat on life on the planet have generated a lot of interest in the study of various asteroid deflection strategies. There are numerous asteroid deflection techniques suggested and discussed in the literature. This paper is focused on one of the non-destructive asteroid deflection strategies by attaching a long tether–ballast system to the asteroid. In the existing literature on this technique, very simplified models of the asteroid-tether–ballast system including a point mass model of the asteroid have been used. In this paper, the dynamical effect of using a finite size asteroid model on the asteroid deflection achieved is analyzed in detail. It has been shown that considering the finite size of the asteroid, instead of the point mass approximation, can have significant influence on the deflection predicted. Furthermore the effect of the tether-deployment stage, which is an essential part of any realistic asteroid deflection mission, on the predicted deflection is studied in this paper. Finally the effect of cutting the tether on the deflection achieved is analyzed and it has been shown that depending on the orbital properties of the asteroid as well as its size and rotational rate, cutting the tether at an appropriate time can increase the deflection achieved. Several numerical examples have been used in this paper to elaborate on the proposed technique and to quantitatively analyze the effect of different parameters on the asteroid deflection.  相似文献

We calculate the gravitational lensing probabilities by cold dark matter (CDM) halos with different density profiles, and compare them with current observations from the Cosmic Lens All-Sky Survey (CLASS) and the Jodrell-Bank VLA Astrometric Survey (JVAS). We find that the lensing probability is dramatically sensitive to the clumping of the dark matter, or quantitatively, the concentration parameter. We also find that our predicted lensing probabilities in most cases show inconsistency with the observations. It is argued that high lensing probability may not be an effective tool for probing the statistical properties of inner structures of dark matter halos.  相似文献

A search for linear polarization due to the transverse Zeeman effect in quiet regions near the heliographic north pole has been carried out. The aim is to determine new constraints on the properties of the hidden or turbulent magnetic flux of the Sun. As more than 90% of the total flux seen in magnetograms has its source in kG fluxtubes with an average filling factor of less than 1%, the term hidden magnetic flux refers to the field in the remaining 99% of the photospheric volume, which remains undetected in ordinary magnetograms (at available levels of spatial resolution and sensitivity).Simultaneous recordings of the Stokes I, Q, and V profiles of the Fei 5250.22 and 5247.06 Å lines with 5 × 5 sec of arc spatial resolution have been made with the NSO McMath solar telescope. The analysis shows how the observed Stokes Q amplitudes, as well as the Q/V ratio in combination with the 5250/5247 Stokes V line ratio, provide constraints on the field strength and the angular distribution of the field vectors of the hidden magnetic flux. The field has to be tangled with opposite polarities mixed on a subarcsec scale, and the field vectors have to have large inclinations with respect to the vertical direction, with an angular distribution not far from being isotropic in the photosphere. Constraints on the strength of this tangled or turbulent magnetic field have been obtained by previous methods, which are reconsidered in view of their dependence on the assumed angular distribution. An upper limit of 100 G comes from determinations of magnetic line broadening, a lower limit of 10 G from observed Hanle-effect depolarization.In our observations the linear polarization has been recorded with a precision of 10-4 with good spectral resolution. Further improvements are impeded by the lack of telescopes with large photon collecting areas and small instrumental polarization.  相似文献

We studied the dependence of the A p -index describing the geomagnetic disturbance on the Moon’s phase. We processed available data for cycles 20–23 of the solar activity by the epoch super-position method. We discovered that, in the declining branch of the solar cycle, the highest values of the A p -index relative to an average value are observed near new moon. The difference of the A p -index values for new moon and full moon is approximately 18%. In the branch of increase and maximum of the solar cycle, we observed minimum values of the A p -index during several days before full moon, and maximum values of the A p -index take place during several days after full moon. The conclusion follows from this that the mechanism of the Moon’s effect on the earth’s magnetosphere is different essentially for intervals near new moon and full moon.  相似文献

The data such as the H-spectrum-spectroheliographic (SSHG) observations, the H-chromospheric observations, etc., of a flare loop prominence which occurred on the western solar limb on 1981 April 27 have been obtained at Yunnan Observatory. The distribution of the internal motions and the macroscopical motion of the flare loop prominence with time and space in the course of its eruption and ascension is derived from the comprehensive analysis of the data. The possible physical pictures and the instability of the motions of the loop are inferred and discussed.  相似文献

We report here on the solar origin of distinctive radiation characteristics observed for a decametric type III solar radio burst that was associated with a major solar flare and CME on 11 April 2001. The associated decimeter (Ond?ejov) and meter (Potsdam) wavelength emissions, as well as the GOES soft X-ray lightcurve, suggest that there were two successive events of energy release and electron acceleration associated with this solar eruption. The Nançay radioheliograph images and additional evidence of plasmoid propagation suggest that the second event of electron acceleration resulted from coronal reconfigurations, likely caused by the erupting CME. These observational analyses provide new insights into the physical origin of the distinguishing characteristics of complex type III-like radio emissions that are typically observed at decameter wavelengths during major solar eruptive events.  相似文献

The non-canonical Hamiltonian dynamics of a triaxial gyrostat in Newtonian interaction with two punctual masses is considered. This serves as a model for the study of the attitude dynamics of a spacecraft located at a Lagrangian equilibrium point of the system formed by a binary asteroid and a spacecraft. Using geometric-mechanics methods, the approximated dynamics that arises when developing the potential in series of Legendre functions and truncating the series to the second harmonics is studied. Working in the reduced problem, the existence of equilibria in Lagrangian form are studied, in analogy with classic results on the topic. In this way, the classical results on equilibria of the three-body problem, as well as other results by different authors that use more conventional techniques for the case of rigid bodies, are generalized. The rotational Poisson dynamics of a spacecraft located at a Lagrangian equilibrium and the study of the nonlinear stability of some important equilibria are considered. The analysis is done in vectorial form avoiding the use of canonical variables and the tedious expressions associated with them.  相似文献

Enceladus exhibits a strong hemispheric dichotomy of tectonism and heat flux, with geologically young, heavily tectonized terrains and a high heat flux in the South Polar Terrain (SPT) and relatively ancient terrains with presumably lower heat fluxes over the rest of the satellite. To understand the convective pattern and its relationship with surface tectonics, we present three-dimensional numerical models of convection in Enceladus’ ice shell including basal heating and tidal heating. Our thermal boundary conditions exhibit no north–south asymmetries, but because the tectonism at the SPT may weaken the ice there, we impose a mechanically weak lithosphere within the SPT. The weakening is parameterized by adopting a reduced viscosity contrast within the SPT. Without such a weak zone, convection (if any) resides in stagnant-lid mode and exhibits no hemispheric dichotomy. In the presence of such an SPT weak zone, however, we find vigorous convection in the ice underneath the SPT, with convective plumes rising close to the surface. In contrast, only stagnant lid convection, or no convection at all, occurs elsewhere over the satellite. Away from the SPT, the heat flux in our models is small (5–10 mW m?2) and the surface strains are small enough to imply surface ages >109 years. Within the SPT, however, our models yield peak heat fluxes of ~70–200 mW m?2, implying heat flows integrated across the SPT of up to 5 GW, similar to that inferred from Cassini thermal observations. The surface strains in our models are high enough near the south pole to cause intense tectonism and imply surface ages of ~106–107 years, consistent with age estimates of the SPT.  相似文献

We show that the surface of a planet growing by planetesimal impact is heated over the melting temperature of the surface materials due to the blanketing effect of an impact induced H2O atmosphere with the present H2O abundance of the Earth even when the accretion time is as long as 108 years. Several X-ray-dim isolated neutron stars(XDINSs), also known as the Magnificent Seven,exhibit a Planck-like soft X-ray spectrum. In the optical/ultraviolet(UV) band, there is an excess of radiation compared to an extrapolation from the X-ray spectrum. However, the majority exhibits "spectral deviations": the fact that there is more flux at longer wavelengths makes spectra deviate from the Rayleigh-Jeans law. A model of bremsstrahlung emission from a nonuniform plasma atmosphere is proposed in the regime of a strangeon star to explain the optical/UV excess and its spectral deviation as well as X-ray pulsation. The atmosphere is on the surface of strangeon matter, which has negligible emission, and is formed by the accretion of ISM-fed debris disk matter moving along the magnetic field lines to near the polar caps. These particles may spread out of the polar regions which makes the atmosphere non-uniform. The modeled electron temperatures are ~100-200 eV with radiation radii R_(opt)~∞~5-14 km. The spectra of five sources(RX J0720.4–3125, RX J0806.4–4123, RX J1308.6+2127, RX J1605.3+3249, RX J1856.5–3754) from optical/UV to X-ray bands can be fitted well by the radiative model, and exhibit Gaussian absorption lines at ~100-500 eV as would be expected.Furthermore, the surroundings(i.e., fallback disks or dusty belts) of XDINSs could be tested by future infrared/submillimeter observations.  相似文献
