The theoretical and experimental results of studies of the solar terminator as a source of inhomogeneous atmospheric structures are analytically reviewed. A classification of the mechanisms by which waves and atmospheric irregularities are generated is presented and briefly described. Several urgent problems related to further studies of the solar terminator and effects created by it in the near-Earth space are considered.  相似文献

This study describes the space-time evolution of the Alfvén resonant disturbance generated by a transversally localized fast magnetoacoustic (FMA) wave induced by impulse action on its localization area. We determine the conditions for the formation of qualitatively different space-time structures of Alfvén resonant disturbances under different relationships between parameters characterizing both dispersion/absorption of Alfvén disturbance and resonant absorption of transversally localized FMA waves. The spatial structures of Alfvén resonant disturbances and their time evolution are described analytically.  相似文献

The beneficial role of rubble mound coastal structures on oxygenation under the effect of waves is discussed, based on analytical considerations and experimental data from laboratory experiments with permeable and impermeable structures. Significant oxygenation of the wave-protected area was observed as a result of horizontal transport through the permeable structure. A two-cell model describing the transport of dissolved oxygen (DO) near a rubble mound breakwater structure was developed and used for the determination of the oxygen transfer coefficients from the experimental data. Oxygen transfer through the air-water interface is considered a source term in the transport equation and the oxygen flux through the structure is taken into account. The mass transport equations for both sides of the structure are solved analytically in terms of time evolution of DO concentration. The behaviour of the solution is illustrated for three different characteristic cases of initial conditions. The oxygen transfer through the air-water interface in the wave-influenced area increases the DO content in the area; the resulting oxygen flux through the structure is discussed. The analytical results depend on the initial conditions, the oxygen transfer coefficient and the exchange flow rate through the structure. Experiments with impermeable structures show that air water oxygen transfer in the harbour area is negligible in the absence of waves. In addition the ratio of the horizontal DO flux to the vertical flux into the seaward side tends towards a constant value, independent of the initial conditions.  相似文献

Summary The Stoneley wave equation arises in the study of waves on interfaces between either two solid media or solid and liquid media. The roots of the equation are related, through the appropriate analysis, to the nature and velocity of the interface waves. In this paper, the eight roots of the Stoneley wave equation for solid-liquid interfaces are investigated analytically for all values of the equation parameters and the general pattern of the roots is elucidated.  相似文献

A new technique relates the wave velocity of the surface waves in anisotropic elastic medium to its elastic constants. Anisotropic propagation of surface waves is studied in a half-space occupied by a general anisotropic elastic solid. The phase velocity expressions of quasi-waves, in three-dimensional space, are used to derive the secular equation of surface waves. The complex secular equation is resolved, analytically, into real and imaginary parts and is then solved, numerically, for phase velocity along a given phase direction on the surface. The complete procedure is thus analogous to the one used for conventional Rayleigh waves in isotropic medium. A non-linear equation relates the ray direction of the surface waves to its phase direction on the (plane) surface of the medium. The analytical differentiation of secular equation yields the directional derivative of phase velocity. This derivative is used to calculate the wave velocity of surface waves. Spatial variations of phase velocity, wave velocity and ray direction over the free plane surface are plotted for the numerical models of crustal rocks with orthorhombic, monoclinic and triclinic anisotropies.  相似文献

The problem of the onset of thermal convection is considered, firstly when a uniform tilted magnetic field is present, and secondly in a frame rotating about an oblique axis. If up–down symmetry is broken we expect to find only bifurcations that lead to travelling waves. Numerical studies show, however, that in a Boussinesq fluid the spectrum of eigenvalues can be symmetrical about the real axis, even when the boundary conditions are asymmetrical. Here we show analytically that this symmetry property indeed holds for a wide range of boundary conditions and hence that both steady solutions and standing waves are allowed.  相似文献

The behaviour of coupled lateral-torsional systems subjected to seismic waves is investigated analytically. This paper present numerical results of a few case studies which show the contributions of each of the selected parameters to the rotational response of the structural systems. Dynamic eccentricity is used as an index to represent the level of the rotational response. Accidental eccentricities due to S-H waves are evaluated. A solution for the two-dimensional scattering and diffraction of plane SH waves by canyons of arbitrary shape in an elastic half space is presented. The wave field for arbitrary geometry in this paper is computed numerically by the method of weighted residues (moment method). The wave displacement field computed by the present residual method for the case of a semi-circular canyon was shown to agree analytically and numerically with that computed by the exact closed form series solution. The same observations about ground amplifications, their dependence on frequencies and orientations of the incident waves, can be stated here for canyons of arbitrary shape as previously made for circular canyons.  相似文献

In this paper, a numerical sensitivity analysis of the site effect on dynamic response of pipelines embedded in some idealised soil deposits resting on a halfspace covering a wide range of soil profiles encountered in practice and subjected to vertically propagating shear waves, is presented. The power spectrum of the lateral differential displacement between two distant points due to the site effect is formulated analytically by using an analytical amplification function of a viscoelastic inhomogenous soil profile overlying either a compliant halfspace or a bedrock, represented by a more realistic continuous model. Also, Kanai-Tajimi spectrum parameters are estimated and expressed analytically from the soil profile model. Finally, results in the form of stochastic response spectrum of pipelines, for different key soil and pipeline parameters, are given and discussed.  相似文献

The problem of boundary conditions for monochromatic Alfvén waves, excited in the magnetosphere by external currents in the ionospheric E-layer, is solved analytically. Waves with large azimuthal wave numbers m≫1 are considered. In our calculations, we used a model for the horizontally homogeneous ionosphere with an arbitrary inclination of geomagnetic field lines and a realistic height disribution of Alfvén velocity and conductivity tensor components. A relationship between such Alfvén waves on the upper ionospheric boundary with electromagnetic oscillations on the ground was detected, and the spatial structure of these oscillations determined.  相似文献

In this paper we solve analytically wave kinematic equations and the wave energy transport equation, for basic long surface gravity wave in the coastal upwelling zone. UsingGent andTaylor's (1978) parameterization of drag coefficient (which includes interaction between long surface waves and the air flow) we find variability of this coefficient due to wave amplification and refraction caused by specific surface water current in the region. The drag coefficient grows towards the shore. The growth is faster for stronger current. When the angle between waves and the current is less than 90° the growth is mainly connected with the waves steepness, but when the angle is larger, it is caused by relative growth of the wave phase velocity.  相似文献

转换波共转换点的叠加和道集选取都需要准确地计算转换点的位置.Tessmer和Behle、Taylor分别给出了水平单层介质中P SV转换波转换点坐标的解析解,由于其表达式的复杂性,在应用中几乎不被采用.在本文中,运用Snell定律重新建立了在水平反射界面上反射的P SV转换波的转换点坐标的四次方程,并严格地推导出与纵波速度、横波速度、炮检距和反射深度有关的转换点坐标的解析解,确定了惟一的解析表达式.将这一结果应用于P SV转换波的速度分析和叠加处理中.简化的公式有较好的应用价值.  相似文献

The seismic response of inhomogeneous soil deposits is explored analytically by means of one-dimensional viscoelastic wave propagation theory. The problem under investigation comprises of a continuously inhomogeneous stratum over a homogeneous layer of higher stiffness, with the excitation defined in terms of vertically propagating harmonic S waves imposed at the base of the system. A generalized parabolic function is employed to describe the variable shear wave propagation velocity in the inhomogeneous layer. The problem is treated analytically leading to an exact solution of the Bessel type for the natural frequencies, mode shapes and base-to-surface response transfer function. The model is validated using available theoretical solutions and finite-element analyses. Results are presented in the form of normalized graphs demonstrating the effect of salient model parameters such as layer thickness, impedance contrast between surface and base layer, rate of inhomogeneity and hysteretic damping ratio. Equivalent homogeneous soil approximations are examined. The effect of vanishing shear wave propagation velocity near soil surface on shear strains and displacements is explored by asymptotic analyses.  相似文献

通过采用平面波和远场散射波混合透射的应力人工边界条件,得到了地震波斜入射的解析方式,以此为基础建立了地震波斜入射条件下,土体与地下结构动力相互作用的时域计算分析模型。以实际建设的南京地铁某车站结构为研究对象,应用大型通用有限元分析软件ANSYS,进行了地震波斜入射条件下地下结构时域地震反应的计算和分析。初步结果表明:在地震波斜入射的情况下,地下结构的动力反应与地震波垂直入射时有较为明显的差异。  相似文献

In this study, A time-domain seismic response analysis method and a calculation model of the underground structure that can realize the input of seismic P, SV and Rayleigh waves are established, based on the viscoelastic artificial boundary elements and the boundary substructure method for seismic wave input. After verifying the calculation accuracy, a comparative study on seismic response of a shallow-buried, double-deck, double-span subway station structure under incident P, SV and Rayleigh waves is conducted. The research results show that there are certain differences in the cross-sectional internal force distribution characteristics of underground structures under different types of seismic waves. The research results show that there are certain differences in the internal force distribution characteristics of underground structures under different types of seismic waves. At the bottom of the side wall, the top and bottom of the center pillar of the underground structure, the section bending moments of the underground structure under the incidences of SV wave and Rayleigh wave are relatively close, and are significantly larger than the calculation result under the incidence of P wave. At the center of the side wall and the top floor of the structure, the peak value of the cross-sectional internal force under the incident Rayleigh wave is larger than the calculation result under SV wave. In addition, the floor of the underground structure under Rayleigh waves vibrates in both the horizontal and vertical directions, and the magnification effect in the vertical direction is more significant. Considering that the current seismic research of underground structures mainly considers the effect of body waves such as the shear waves, sufficient attention should be paid to the incidence of Rayleigh waves in the future seismic design of shallow underground structures.  相似文献

A linear Eady model with a parameterization of heat influx from the lower boundary is studied analytically in order to obtain the characteristics of baroclinic normal modes modified by this non-adiabatic source. The results display a secondary maximum of growth rate at high wave numbers and a range of absolutely unstable waves, thus suggesting that the property observed among mid-latitude explosive cyclones of being near-stationary in the phase of maximum growth may be captured by this representation of the air-sea energy exchange.  相似文献

This paper presents results of testing an efficient ray generation scheme needed whenever ray synthetic seismograms are to be computed for layered models with more than 10‘ thick’layers. Our ray generation algorithm is based on the concept of kinematically equivalent waves (the kinematic analogs) having identical traveltimes along different ray-paths between the source and the receiver, both located on the surface of the model. These waves, existing in any medium composed of laterally homogeneous parallel layers, interfere at any location along the recording surface, thereby producing a composite wavelet whose amplitude and shape depend directly on the number of kinematic analogs (the multiplicity factor). Hence, explicit knowledge of the multiplicity factor is crucial for any analysis based on the amplitude and shape of individual wavelets, such as wavelet shaping, Q estimation, or linearized wavelet inversion. For unconverted waves, such as those discussed in this paper, the multiplicity factor can be computed analytically using formulae given in the Appendix; for converted waves, the multiplicity factor should be computed numerically, using the algorithm employed for the computation of the seismograms presented in a previous paper by one of the authors.  相似文献

A study of the dynamic response of offshore structures to simultaneous loadings by random earthquake ground motions and random sea waves is presented. Emphasis is placed on the evaluation of dynamic soil-structure interaction effects and also on the evaluation of non-linear hydrodynamic damping effects due to sea waves for the seismic response. The structure is discretized using the finite element method. Sea waves are represented by Bretschneider's power spectrum and the Morison equation defines the wave forcing function. The Tajimi-Kanai power spectrum is used for the horizontal ground acceleration due to earthquakes. The governing equations of motion are obtained by the substructure method. Response analysis is carried out using the frequency-domain random vibration approach. It is found that the first few vibrational modes contribute significantly to the dynamic response. The response due to earthquake loadings is larger when the soil-structure interaction effects are considered. The hydrodynamic damping forces are higher in random seas than in still water and sea waves reduce the seismic response of offshore structures. Studies on the first passage probabilities of response indicate that small sea waves enhance the reliability of offshore structures against earthquake forces.  相似文献
