数字地球的时空维实现

在全球变化研究和持续发展战略推动下形成的地理信息科学是数字地球的科学技术基础,而数字地球也为地理信息科学的发展提供了源动力。数字地球将深刻改变人类的政治、经济和科技格局。现在还不能给数字地球一个明确的定义,但可以认为数字地球的核心是一个分布式、多尺度、多维的地理信息系统。TGIS研究是实现数字地球的关键技术之一。目前可以本着综合型和分解型两种思路对TGIS进行平行探索。     

地球信息图谱与数字地球

首先探讨了数字地球技术系统及其意义,研究了作为地球信息时空变化图形表达的地球信息图谱。在此基础上,分析了数字地球与地球信息图谱之间的有机联系,指出数字地球的发展将极大地推动地球信息图谱的研究;地球信息图谱是数字地球分析、处理信息的重要手段,其理论研究必将推动数字地球应用的深入发展     

地理信息系统的理论与应用发展

本文重点概述了地理信息系统 30多年来的应用和发展 ,简要地介绍了 GIS软件技术的进步和世纪之交深化地球信息机理、自组织、自相关理论和时空专题高维数据模型以及以 GIS为核心的综合集成技术体系的研究。同时讨论了新世纪信息时代与网络世界在“信息高速公路”、“数字地球”等高新技术迅猛发展进程中 ,对 GIS的深化应用研究 ,应纳入国家信息技术发展计划 ,使 GIS深层次、全方位地服务于国家可持续发展和全球变化的研究。     

全球离散格网:回顾与展望(英文)

全球离散格网是数字球体表达的基本数据模型,它提供了一种栅格化表达地球弯曲表面的方法,催生了数字地球。该文回顾全球离散格网与数字地球的发展史,评析了以谷歌地球为代表的第一代数字地球的技术实现。在为科学界及社会公众提供地表与近地表信息交流方面,数字地球的有效性面临挑战,第一代数字地球在很多方面存在不足,其中最显著的缺陷是不能基于社会与环境过程模型模拟地球的将来状态。展望未来,简要分析了下一代数字地球应具有的基本特征。     

数字地球视角下的城市规划及展望

基于文献分析方法,综合分析了数字地球的概念,总结了数字地球技术在城市规划中的应用.其主要包括:数据源扩展技术;定量分析技术;公众参与支持系统;动态监测系统;基于云计算模型与时态GIS的城市规划时空展示分析体系;城市规划教育与创新体系.认为凭借其多分辨率、三维动态可视化以及海量数据存储的特点,数字地球技术在城市规划中的应用将具有广阔的发展前景.     

数字城市实现的技术体系研究

数字城市是数字地球实现的一个重要节点，该文分析了数字城市的产生背景，提出了数字城市的研究体系－数字城市的基础研究，数字城市的实现技术以及数字城市的工程研究，最后论述了数字城市实现的关键性技术。     

数字地球的体系研究

通过对地学空间信息研究背景及其内容的分析,认为数字地球是人类空间信息革命的序幕。并结合数字地球的关键技术,提出了数字地球的全球层、区域层以及国家层的实现模式。文章还对数字地球的应用领域展开了讨论,认为数字地球是人类下个世纪经济增长的关键,并是人类适居社区等建设的决策信息支柱。     

数字流域研究与实践

数字地球的产生及其技术体系的完善，为建立数字流域提供坚实的技术支撑。数字流域是以地理空间数据为基础，具有多维显示和表达流域状况的虚拟流域，是数字地球的重要组成部分。文章从探讨数字流域的概念入手，阐述了其组成与数据监测获取、传输网络、海量存储、流域模拟、可视化与虚拟现实等关键技术，并简要分析了数字流域的应用与前景。     

"数字地球"与对地观测

在２１世纪到来之际,人类向“数字地球”这一地球信息科学新领域发起了挑战。这是在信息社会、知识经济、可持续发展时代背景下,由空间科学、信息科学、地球科学和环境科学的相互交融,在全球及区域尺度上的一次大整合、大聚焦。是面向２１世纪地球系统科学思维模式的开拓大跳跃。对地观测技术系统的蓬勃发展,是“数字地球”的不可缺少的基础。数字地球的发展,离不开对地观测技术系统的支撑。     

地理信息系统的发展轨迹与数字山地构建

地理信息是地理信息系统的主体,其特质决定了世界上出现的第一个大型信息系统是地理信息系统。地理信息系统是在积累和传承地理信息科学创新进步的基础上,经历漫长的过程产生和发展,既是历史的产物,也是现代的结晶。目前,地理信息系统随着计算机技术、网络技术、仿真技术的进步处于迅速优化阶段,是构建数字地球不可或缺的支撑技术。探讨和了解地理信息系统产生和发展轨迹有助于正确确定数字地球(山地)构建的阶段性目标。“数字地球”概念的提出迅速在世界范围内引起强烈反响,我国政府和科技界高度重视。“数字山地”是“数字地球”重要的有机组成部分。我国是多山国家,构建数字山地意义重大,势在必行。阐述了构建数字山地的必要性和可行性,介绍和讨论了构建数字山地的14项研究内容和构建数字山地的科学体系以及关键支撑技术。同时指出,数字山地的构建是一项复杂的系统工程,研究与应用并重,机遇与挑战共存,任重而道远。

Deserts and Aeolian Desertification in China: Book review and some thoughts

Desertification is a global phenomenon that affects about two billion people. It occurs in arid zones where the annual precipitation is below 400 mm, partic- ularly in the marginal areas of the world＇s largest deserts. It is a result of water and wind erosion, over- grazing, global warm-ing, improper soil cultivation, and increased pressure ot population growth, and it causes degradation of soil and natural and agricultural vegetation. The direct result is less food for people and livestock, which influences pop- ulation and animal husbandry fluctuations. Despite ef- forts to combat and reduce desertification, the affected areas are annually increasing.

THE MOST PERFECT EXAMPLE OF AN ALIEN ECOLOGY EVER CONSTRUCTED

Much science-fiction literature is based upon the creation and exploration of alternative environments. Stanley G. Weinbaum's short story, “Parasite Planet,”introduces an unusual environment that may be wrong in the light of recent evidence on Venus but still stimulates the geographical imagination.     

Metals and models: Diagenic modelling in freshwater lacustrine sediments

This review aims to distill and synthesize the existing information on the use of models to describe and predict the distribution and movement of metals in lacustrine sediments. As such it examines the causes of metal diagenesis, the origin and form of the equations that govern these phenomena, and the predictability or measurability of the parameters that appear in the models. The paper concludes by highlighting some seminal results from modelling studies, including the determination of the factors controlling the formation of surficial Mn-Fe-enriched zone or layers, the substantial contribution possible from metal reduction to organic matter regeneration, the calculation of mixing-corrected metal input histories to lakes, and the prediction of growth rates and morphologies for both deep-sea and lacustrine ferromanganese nodules.
