The interrelations between the normalized difference vegetation index and the total incoming radiation; total evaporation; mean surface-air temperature over the vegetation period; and the structural characteristics of vegetation cover, such as its overground phytomass and overground net primary production, are analyzed on the basis of experimental and satellite data. The analysis was made with the use of the data obtained for plain regions of European Russia and western Siberia. It is shown that, for these regions, the latitudinal distributions of the values of the vegetation index and the structural vegetation-cover characteristics under consideration do not coincide. The relationships between the structural characteristics of vegetation cover (phytomass, production) and the vegetation index have the form of functions with saturation. The relationships between the vegetation index and the climatic parameters under consideration have a bell-shaped form. The analysis has shown that the normalized difference vegetation index is not an indicator for the values of the overground net primary production of vegetation cover and its overground phytomass within the areas under consideration. 相似文献

We adapted the dilution technique to study microzooplankton grazing of algal dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) vs. Chl a, and to estimate the impact of microzooplankton grazing on dimethyl sulfide (DMS) production in the Labrador Sea. Phytoplankton numbers were dominated by autotrophic nanoflagellates in the Labrador basin, but diatoms and colonial Phaeocystis pouchetii contributed significantly to phytomass at several high chlorophyll stations and on the Newfoundland and Greenland shelfs. Throughout the region, growth of algal Chl a and DMSP was generally high (0.2–1 d−1), but grazing rates were lower and more variable, characteristic of the early spring bloom period. Production and consumption of Chl a vs. DMSP followed no clear pattern, and sometimes diverged greatly, likely because of their differing distributions among algal prey taxa and size class. In several experiments where Phaeocystis was abundant, we observed DMS production proportional to grazing rate, and we found clear evidence of DMS production by this haptophyte following physical stress such as sparging or filtration. It is possible that grazing-activated DMSP cleavage by Phaeocystis contributes to grazer deterrence: protozoa and copepods apparently avoided healthy colonies (as judged by relative growth and grazing rates of Chl a and DMSP), and grazing of Phaeocystis was significant only at one station where cells were in poor condition. Although we hoped to examine selective grazing on or against DMSP-containing algal prey, the dilution technique cannot differentiate selective ingestion and varying digestion rates of Chl a and DMSP. We also found that the dilution method alone was poorly suited for assessing the impact of grazing on dissolved sulfur pools, because of rapid microbial consumption and the artifactual release of DMSP and DMS during filtration. Measuring and understanding the many processes affecting organosulfur cycling by the microbial food web in natural populations remain a technical challenge that will likely require a combination of techniques to address. 相似文献

A method for the estimation of the results of reconstruction of the trajectories of drifting buoys is proposed. It is based
on the comparison of the estimates of power spectral densities for the components of current velocity computed according to
three data sets: the data set of the coordinates of a drifting buoy with a built-in GPS receiver, the data set of coordinates formed on the basis of the first set but with data missing and observational errors
corresponding to the actual trajectory measurements by the Argos satellite location and data collection system by the Doppler method, and the data set of coordinates obtained as a result
of interpolation of the second set. As an example, we consider the procedure of realization of the proposed method and demonstrate
the efficiency of its application for the improvement of the reliability of reconstruction of the trajectories of drifting

We perform the numerical analysis of the long-wave response of the free surface of a fluid in a basin of variable depth to
the formation of an anomaly of the baric field for a finite period of time. In numerical experiments, we use the distribution
of depths typical of the south coast of the Crimea. We also study the dependence of the dynamics of the sea level in the zone
of the baric anomaly and in the shelf zone on the space and time scales of local changes in the field of atmospheric pressure
in the open part of the basin.

Particular features of the tectonic structure and anomalous distribution of the geothermal, geomagnetic, and gravity fields in the region of the Sea of Okhotsk are considered. On the basis of heat flow data, the ages of large-scale structures in the Sea of Okhotsk are estimated at 65 Ma for the Central Okhotsk Rise and 36 Ma for the South Okhotsk Basin. The age of the South Okhotsk Basin is confirmed by the data on the kinematics and corresponds to a 50-km thickness of the lithosphere. This is in accordance with the thickness value obtained by magnetotelluric soundings. A comparative analysis of the model geothermal background and the measured heat flow values on the Akademii Nauk Rise is performed. The analysis points to an abnormally high (by approximately 20%) measured heat flow, which agrees with the high negative gradient of gravity anomalies. The estimates of the deep heat flow and the basement age of the riftogenic basins in the Sea of Okhotsk were carried out in the following areas: the Deryugin Basin (18 Ma, Early Miocene), the TINRO Basin (12 Ma, Middle Miocene), and the West Kamchatka Basin (23 Ma, Late Oligocene). The temperatures at the boundaries of the main lithological complexes of the sedimentary cover are calculated and the zones of oil and gas generation are defined. On the basis of geothermal, magnetic, structural, and other geological-geophysical data, a kinematic model of the region of the Sea of Okhotsk for a period of 36 Ma was calculated and constructed. 相似文献

We generalize and analyze the state of investigations of the influence of river waters on the hydrologic structure of the
Black Sea. Specific features of the water, regime and hydrography of rivers flowing into the sea, data on the discharge of
rivers, and intrayear and interyear variability of the discharge are presented. We discuss and analyze works studying the
transformation of river waters, routes of desalinized sea waters, and their influence on the thermohaline structure and dynamic
regime of the sea.

A theoretical approach is applied to predict the propagation and transformation of nonlinear water waves. A semi-analytical solution was derived by applying an eigenfunction expansion method. The solution is applied to analyze the effect of wave frequencies and wave steepness on the propagation of nonlinear waves. The main attention is paid to the wave profile, the wave energy spectrum, and the changes of wave profile and energy spectrum due to the interaction of wave components in a wave train. The results show that for waves of low steepness the nonlinear wave effects and effects associated with the interaction of water waves in a wave train are of secondary importance. For waves of moderate steepness and steep waves the effects associated with the interactions between waves in a wave train are becoming significant and a train of initially sinusoidal waves may drastically change its form within a short distance from its original position. The evolution of wave components has substantial effects on the wave spectrum. A train of initially very narrow-banded waves changes its one-peak spectrum to a multi-peak one in a fairly short period of time. Laboratory experiments were conducted in a wave flume to verify theoretical approaches. The free-surface elevation recorded by a system of wave gauges was compared with the results provided by the semi-analytical solution. Theoretical results are in a fairly good agreement with experimental data. A reasonable agreement between theoretical results and experimental data is observed often even for relatively steep waves. 相似文献

The methods of perturbation theory and integral representations are used to analyze the general properties of a system of
equations of the mechanics of inhomogeneous fluids including the equations of momentum, mass, and temperature transfer. We
also consider various submodels of this system, including the reduced systems in which some kinetic coefficients are equal
to zero and degenerate systems in which the variations of density or some other variables are neglected. We analyze both regularly
perturbed and singularly perturbed solutions of the system. In the case of reduction or degeneration of solutions, the order
of the system decreases. In this case, regularly perturbed solutions are preserved (with certain modifications) but the number
of singularly perturbed components participating in the formation of the boundary layers on contact surfaces and their analogs
in the bulk of the fluid, i.e., the elongated high-gradient interlayers, decreases. The interaction between all components

Within the framework of a two-layer model, we consider the process of, formation of livel in a closed basin under the action
of a source with constant flow rate located on its boundary in the upper layer. The response of the level of the basin to
the inflow of liquid is observed in the form of the baroclinic and barotropic modes. The baroclinic mode, has the form of
an edge wave for which the deviation of level is positive for the upper layer and negative for the lower layer. The barotropic
component of the level is almost spatially homogeneous and its intensity increases with time. The increase in the volume of
the upper layer caused by the inflow of liquid on the boundary is almost completely attained in the barotropic mode. In the
lower layer, the increase in the volume attained in the barotropic mode is completely compensated by the baroclinic edge wave.

The GALO system for basin modeling is applied for numerical reconstruction of the thermal history of the lithosphere of the Western Basin and the Shatsky and Andrusov rises in the Black Sea. The modeling showed that the variant of the thermal evolution of the lithosphere of the region that was used by us for the Eastern Basin in our previous study is also applicable to the thermal evolution of the lithosphere of various tectonically different structures of the deep-water part of the Black Sea. These structures include both the Western and Eastern basins of the sea characterized by a granite-free crust formed in the course of the back-arc spreading and the Shatsky and Andrusov rises with the continental type of crust. The proposed version of the lithosphere evolution in the deep-water part of the Black Sea implies the initial stage of quasi-rift heating in the Upper Cretaceous and the three-staged thermal activation of the plate in the Cenozoic accompanied by three successive stages of crustal thinning. The latter resulted in the gradual deepening of the sea down to the present-day depth of 2.2 km. 相似文献

We use many-year archival observations of hydrologic and hydrobiologic state of the Sea of Azov for the identification of
the structure of a model of its ecosystem. The ecosystem model, supplemented with expert estimates of bioresource consumption
(fish reserve), contamination level, and possible ecologic fines for violation of the sea natural state, is formalized by
the method of system dynamics. Hereat, the major part of influence functions is found in terms of observational data with
application of self-organization algorithms. We also present the results of simulated experiments with the model of the ecosystem,
which enable us to analyse scenarios of its behaviour under the influence of various external factors (wind, river discharge,
water exchange with the Black Sea, etc.).

A possible mechanism of the formation of chains of intraplate seamounts and islands alternative to the “hot spot” hypothesis is considered. It is related to the appearance of additional stresses in the lithospheric plate when it ascends over a mantle inhomogeneity and descends from it. The magnitude of these stresses (~600 bar) is sufficient for formation of deep fracture zones. In the paper, schemes of formation of volcanic chains are described. The formation of the “faults-volcanoes-volcanic chains” sequence may follow two different ways. The first is controlled by the fracture zones formed along the direction of the plate movement. In this case, feeding channels are localized along the boundary of the rise. If the chain is gradually formed simultaneously with the plate motion, the age of the volcanoes along the chain may change in a more or less regular way. The second type is formed by fractures orthogonal to the movement direction. They may be formed when the plate ascends over a mantle inhomogeneity and/or descends from it. In this case, adjacent volcanoes may have similar ages. A combination of these two variants may also be encountered. The mechanism posed allowed us to explain selected facts referring to the volcanic chains of French Polynesia and may be applied to other regions of the Pacific Ocean. 相似文献

An attempt has been made to estimate the fishery potentials of the EEZ of India on the basis of data on primary and secondary production. The total column primary production and zooplankton production have been calculated to be 265·9 and 9 million tonnes of carbon per year, respectively. From these values the fishery potential has been estimated as 2·5 million tonnes per year. To this, if we add the estimated demersal fish catch, being 1·2 million tonnes per year, the total potential yield comes to 3·7 million tonnes per year. Since the present average total catch is about 1·6 million tonnes in a year, the fish catch could be doubled. 相似文献

The lithology and geochemistry of the Miocene concretional phosphorites recovered from four submarine rises in the Sea of Japan (the North and South Yamato, the East Korean, and the Krishtofovich) were examined by means of analytical electron microscopy and ICP-MS chemical and microchemical elemental analysis. The microstructural studies and the data on the distributions of the 57 major and trace elements in these phosphorites revealed their close similarities to the Late Quaternary nodular phosphorites from the Namibian shelf, as well as phosphorites from other parts of the world, thus suggesting a common genetic affinity. Unlike the Namibian phosphorites, our samples collected from the Sea of Japan display a number of geochemical signatures indicative of volcanic and hydrothermal activity. This is supported by the presence of positive Ce and Eu anomalies in some samples and the Ga enrichment in a sample from the Chentsov Volcano. 相似文献

本研究采用学习记忆行为训练和生化测定的方法,观察了我国4种常见海蛇的乙醇浸出物(AlcoholicExtractsofBodiesofSea Snake.AEBSS)对小鼠的正常学习记忆、东莨菪碱(Scopolamine,Scop)所致记忆障碍、脑不同部位蛋白质含量的影响。结果表明,AEBSS(剂量500mg浸出蛋白/kg体重以上)对正常小鼠的学习记忆能力及脑内蛋白质合成有明显的促进作用;AEBSS还能极显著地改善Scop所致的学习记忆障碍,使Scop组大脑皮层和小脑的蛋白质含量显著增加,海马脑区的蛋白质含量增加极显著。结果提示,AEBSS对小鼠学习记忆的作用机制可能与中枢胆碱能递质系统的蛋白质合成有关。 相似文献

We discuss specific features of the space distribution and the processes of assimilation and oxidation of the dissolved and emulsified fractions of oil hydrocarbons in Black-Sea waters and study the methods of parametrization of these processes proposed in the literature. We develop a procedure of parametrization of the processes of degradation of oil hydrocarbons taking into account their complex chemical compositions, characteristics of chemical and microbiological processes, and temperature dependences of these processes and perform numerical experiments aimed at the reconstruction of the seasonal variations of the large-scale space structure of the distribution of oil hydrocarbons in the aerobic zone of the Black Sea. 相似文献
