金星薄饼状火山(陡边火山)是一类形貌非常独特的火山,有别于太阳系中其他的火山:近圆的底面轮廓、平坦的顶部和较大的顶底直径比.薄饼状火山被认为是高黏度岩浆喷发形成的,但是这一成因并不被广泛接受.火山的形貌特征主要取决于岩浆成分、喷发机制、重力和喷发环境(如大气压)等.因此,通过对比地球火山的形貌特征及形成机制可以为金星薄饼状火山的成因提供指示.我们利用底面不规则度(ii )、高径比(H/W B )、顶底直径比(W S/W B )、侧边最大坡度处的标准化高度(HS m a x )、顶部高径比(H S/W S )和喷发量(V )这些形貌参数定量地将地球表面的复式火山、盾形火山、火山锥、熔岩穹丘(Peleean 型和 Coulees 型)、海底平顶火山以及泥火山的形貌特征与金星薄饼状火山对比.Coulees型熔岩穹丘、海底平顶火山和泥火山的形貌特征与金星薄饼状火山有一定的相似性.Coulees型熔岩穹丘剖面形态与薄饼状火山最为相似,可能指示了薄饼状火山具有类似的成因机制,而海底平顶火山侧边的上凹特征可能指示了其与薄饼状火山完全不同的成因机制.因此,薄饼状火山可能是相对高黏度的岩浆以较高速率持续性喷发形成.  相似文献

Structures previously described as umbrella‐shaped probable fossils are shown to be tectonically deformed cylindrical to conical sand volcanoes. They occur in the upper parts of greywacke beds in the middle Precambrian Pine Creek Geosyncline. The anisotropy caused by the occurrence of the volcanoes resulted in the localization of stresses during the deformation of the geosynclinal sequence, causing the formation of radial and concentric fractures in each of the volcanoes.  相似文献

松辽盆地改造残留的古火山机构与现代火山机构的类比分析   总被引:20,自引:3,他引:17  
现代火山机构形态有盾状、锥状和穹状,可按喷发样式进一步划分为7种类型。据此分类,在松辽盆地周缘剖面及其北部徐家围子断陷区可识别出4类火山机构:盾状火山机构,由喷溢相熔岩组成,可夹有薄层爆发相火山碎屑岩;层火山机构,由互层的熔岩与火山碎屑岩组成,喷溢相与爆发相交替的序列明显;火山碎屑锥,几乎全部由火山碎屑(熔)岩组成,爆发相为主;熔岩穹丘由高粘度的流纹质、英安质熔岩堵塞火山口后缓慢挤出形成,喷溢相和侵出相发育,兼有火山通道相。盆地内埋藏火山机构最小坡度为3°,最大坡度为25°,底部直径为2~14 km,分布面积为4~50 km2,火山岩厚度为100~600 m;总体上呈现出数目多、个体规模小、受区域大断裂控制、具裂隙式-多中心喷发、彼此相互叠置的特征。火山岩岩性和岩相是控制松辽盆地古火山机构类型及形态的主要因素。  相似文献

The Makran accretionary wedge has a much larger number of mud volcanoes then those reported earlier. Using high-resolution satellite images, over 70 active mud volcanoes were identified. These mud volcanoes occur within a well-defined zone; we call it the Makran zone of active mud volcanoes (MZAMV), which is parallel to the regional trend of the accretionary wedge. Mud volcanoes within the zone occur as clusters, which form linear belts parallel to the regional thrusts associated with anticlines. The MZAMV zone also includes the offshore mud volcanoes occurring in the shallow shelf area, including the recurrently emerging mud islands. Several occurrences of thick deposits of old mud volcanoes (Pleistocene or even older) are also present within this zone, which also display recognizable features that are characteristic of the fossil mud volcanoes. We propose that the MZAMV developed and evolved in response to the continued compression within the Makran accretionary wedge, which in turn, is a response of the subduction process. Mud diapirism has been an ongoing phenomena since Pleistocene or even earlier. The events of enhanced mud extrusion in mud volcanoes and/or emergence of island(s) have relevance with seismic phenomena and, therefore, may be closely monitored.  相似文献

The sources of volcanic temper sands in prehistoric pottery found on low-lying raised-coral islands of Tonga have long been uncertain. The paucity of noncalcareous sand on most inhabited Tongan islands has led to the suggestion that temper was imported from the active magmatic are to the west, or even that most pottery was imported to Tonga from Fiji. The simple mineralogy of the tempers, which are composed almost exclusively of pyroxene and plagioclase mineral grains, volcanic rock fragments, and opaque ferro-magnesian oxide grains, is compatible with derivation from Tongan volcanics, but island volcanoes of Tonga lack deposits of rounded and well-sorted sands that are similar texturally to the tempers. Discovery of local placer deposits composed of volcanic sand on beaches otherwise composed of calcareous reef detritus within the Ha'apai Group of central Tonga provides a satisfactory local source for temper on the shorelines of several inhabited islands. The beach placer sands were apparently derived from reworking of thick tephra deposits that mantle the islands. Detailed compositional analysis of temper sands in numerous ancient Lapitoid potsherds from all the constituent island groups of Tonga implies that pottery making was once a widespread industry making use of locally available raw materials. Stylistically diagnostic protohistoric Fijian potsherds, found in small numbers on several islands in Tonga, can be distinguished from the older indigenous Lapitoid wares by their anomalous tempers, which contrast sharply with the Tongan volcanic temper sands. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Sand injectites are structures that result from intrusion of fluidized sand into fractures. We have studied them in the Tampen Spur area of the North Sea, and have reproduced them experimentally, by driving compressed air through layers of sand, glass microspheres, and silica powder. The silica powder was cohesive and capable of hydraulic fracturing, whereas the sand and glass microspheres were almost non-cohesive and therefore able to fluidize. The models were dynamically similar to their natural counterparts, for as long as equilibrium was static. When the processes became dynamic, so that inertial forces were significant, the scaling was approximate and the corresponding Reynolds numbers differed. The experimental apparatus was a square box, 1 m × 1 m wide, resting on a grid of fluid diffusers. During the experiments, the fluid pressure increased, until it attained and surpassed the weight of overburden. Flat-lying hydraulic fractures, containing air, formed within cohesive and least permeable layers. Heterogeneities in material properties and layer thicknesses were responsible for localizing fracture networks. When any one network broke through to the surface, rapid flow of air through the fractures fluidized the underlying mobile materials and even depleted some of the layers. Some of the fluidized material extruded at the surface through vents, forming volcanoes and sheets. The remainder lodged at depth, forming sand injectites or laccoliths. Conical sand injectites formed preferentially, where layers had high resistance to bending. Laccoliths formed nearer the surface, where overlying layers had low resistance to bending. The experimental sand injectites were broadly similar to those in the Tampen Spur area of the North Sea, as well as other areas.  相似文献

火山学研究有了长足的进步。笔者总结近些年全球火山学研究各个方面的成果,包括对火山基本概念的新的认识、火山机构、火山的各种分类、火山岩石学和地球化学、火山岩相学、评估火山爆发大小的火山爆发指数、岩石和地球化学分类、各种常量和微量元素区分图、活火山分布与板块构造理论的关系、活火山给人类带来的灾害与利益和活火山的监测、曾经的火山活动与生物毁灭、单成因火山研究等。火山—构造是未来火山学研究的一个方向,通过火山与构造关系的研究以揭示火山的分布和地球的演化。火山喷出的岩浆是其通过地下以岩墙或管道形式为通道运移到地表的结果。中朝边境上的长白山的位置是个特例,应当值得深入的研究。中国分布有许多新生代火山,它们是否为单成因火山、这些火山在成分上是否有演化规律、它们的分布与大地构造的关系等都有待深入和系统的研究。  相似文献

大同火山群以盆地为对称轴分布,中更新世晚期火山位于盆地的轴部,中更新世早期火山位于盆地两侧。计算的延伸和断裂速率分别为0.43cm/a和0.22cm/a。大同火山群主要属于碱性橄榄玄武岩系列,中更新世早期火山的一部分属于拉斑系列,夏威夷岩是大同火山岩的一个主要类型.中更新世早期火山岩的氧化物变异趋势可能是受高压下Ol+Opx的分离作用控制.中更新世晚期火山岩氧化物变异趋势暗示了是受岩浆混合作用的控制。  相似文献

Large volcanic edifices are often shaped by the coalescence of adjacent volcanoes as well as intrusive rift zones and gravitational spreading. To better understand the structure of such volcanoes we designed analogue experiments simulating gravitational spreading of an edifice made by overlapping cones of different age, and examined the formation of rift zones. The results allow distinction of two main rift geometries. (i) Spreading edifices of similar age that partly overlap, tend to develop a rift zone approximately perpendicular to the boundary of both volcanoes. Such a rift zone causes two volcanoes to grow together and form an elongated topographic ridge. (ii) Partly overlapping volcanoes of different age are spreading at different rates and thus form a rift zone parallel to the boundary of both volcanoes. Such a rift zone causes two volcanoes to structurally separate. The results are widely applicable for large volcanoes subject to rifting and flank spreading, which we demonstrate for Réunion Island and for southern Hawaii.  相似文献

The relations between earthquakes and the eruption of mud volcanoes have been investigated at the Pede–Apennine margin of the Northern Apennines and in Sicily. Some of these volcanoes experienced eruptions or increased activity in connection with historical seismic events, showing a good correlation with established thresholds of hydrological response (liquefaction) to earthquakes. However, the majority of eruptions have been documented to be independent of seismic activity, being mud volcanoes often not activated even when the earthquakes were of suitable magnitude and the epicentre at the proper distance for the triggering. This behaviour suggests that paroxysmal activity of mud volcanoes depends upon the reaching of a specific critical state dictated by internal fluid pressure, and implies that the strain caused by the passage of seismic waves can activate only mud volcanoes in near-critical conditions (i.e., close to the eruption). Seismogenic faults, such as the Pede–Apennine thrust, often structurally control the fluid reservoirs of mud volcanoes, which are frequently located at the core of thrust-related folds. Such an intimate link enables mud volcanoes to represent features potentially suitable for recording perturbations associated with the past and ongoing tectonic activity of the controlling fault system.  相似文献

The locations and information about the sizes of 61 mud volcanoes on the Italian mainland and Sicily, plus an area of mud diapirism in the Italian Adriatic Sea, are presented. Data about the emission products are also provided. The majority of these mud volcanoes are found where thick sedimentary sequences occur within a zone of tectonic compression associated with local plate tectonic activity: the movement of the Adriatic microplate between the converging African and Eurasian plates. The principal gas emitted by these mud volcanoes is methane, which probably originates from deep within the sediments. Other mud volcanoes, associated with igneous volcanism, produce mainly carbon dioxide. The mud diapirs in the Adriatic Sea are thought to form as a result of the mobilization of shallow gassy sediments. It has been shown that radon emissions from mud volcanoes are indicators of forthcoming earthquake events. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Mud volcanoes can provide important information about the underlying strata, hydrocarbon accumulation, and recent neotectonic movements in an area. The fluids erupting from mud volcanoes provide important information about their formation and evolution. The ion concentration and the hydrogen and oxygen isotopes of the fluids that were erupted from the three mud volcano groups, Baiyanggou, Aiqigou, and Dushanzi, and nearby rivers in the southern margin of the Junggar basin, northwestern China, are studied. The concentrations of Na and Cl in mud volcano fluids are clearly elevated, displayed as the Na-Cl type. The δD and δ18O values of the fluids are similar between the Baiyanggou and Dushanzi mud volcanoes, which are mainly from ancient sedimentary pore water. However, the Aiqigou mud volcano is depleted in dissolved Cl and shows lower δ18O values with mixed sources, including deep pore and local meteoric water. Two types of mud volcanoes are proposed in this study. One type is low-energy mud volcanoes with a low volume of fluid of deep origin on the hillcrest, which display as mud pool/pie/hole. The other type is high-energy mud volcanoes having mixed fluid origin in the valley and formed in the shape of a mud cone (dome).  相似文献

大兴安岭中部哈拉哈河-淖尔河地区受基底断裂控制,发育28座第四纪火山,这些火山总体呈北东向带状分布。研究区第四纪火山岩分布面积约1000km^2,岩性主要为碱性玄武岩。根据喷发时代和火山地质特征,这里的火山大体可分为更新世和全新世两期。按照火山作用方式不同,区内火山可分为岩浆成因和射汽岩浆成因两类:前者活动产物主要包括火山碎屑锥、碎屑席、熔岩流,其中发育结壳熔岩、渣状熔岩、块状熔岩,以及喷气锥、熔岩冢等火山地质现象;后者产物主要是射汽岩浆喷发形成的基浪堆积物,其中发育大型平行层理及交错层理。不同的火山作用形成了火山口湖、低平火山口湖、火山堰塞湖和塌陷熔岩湖四种不同规模与形态特征的湖泊,这种水火相容的火山地质现象为阿尔山火山温泉国家地质公园增添了景观。  相似文献

Geophysical and geochemical data have been analyzed jointly in order to gain better understanding of subduction-related active volcanism in Kamchatka. The velocity structure of lithosphere beneath volcanic arcs has been imaged on three scales. Regional tomography to distances of thousands of kilometers has allowed constraints on slab geometry, which changes markedly in dip angle and thickness beneath the Kuriles-Kamchatka arc, possibly, because of a change in the interplay of the subduction driving forces. Intermediate-scale regional tomography (hundreds of kilometers) has been applied to the cases of Toba caldera in Sumatra, Mount Merapi in Java, and volcanoes in the Central Andes and provided evidence of magma conduits marked by low-velocity zones that link the suprasubduction volcanic arcs with clusters of earthquake hypocenters on the slab top. Local tomography resolves the shallow structure immediately under volcanoes and the geometry of respective melting zones. An example time-lapse (4D) seismic model of the crust beneath the Klyuchevskoy group of volcanoes has imaged a decade-long history of anomalous velocity zones and their relation with the activity cycles of Bezymyanny and Klyuchevskoy volcanoes. As modeling shows, andesitic Bezymyanny and basaltic Klyuchevskoy volcanoes have different feeding patterns during their eruption cycles: the former feeds directly from the mantle while the material coming to the latter passes through a complicated system of intermediate chambers.The local tomography model has been applied as reference to interpret the available major- and trace-element data from the Klyuchevskoy and Bezymyanny volcanoes. The lava compositions of the two volcanoes have becoming ever more proximal since 1945 in many major and trace elements while some parameters remain different. Paroxysmal eruptions of Bezymyanny for several recent decades correlate with the time when Klyuchevskoy erupted lavas with high percentages of high-Mg basalts. The difference in the evolution trends of the Kamchatka volcanic rocks may be due either to fractional crystallization or to the presence of concentrator minerals in the source, titanomagnetite, orthopyroxene, rutile, garnet, and plagioclase being especially active as to uptake of some elements. The natural compositions of rocks have been compared in this context with published experimental data.According to the seismic velocity structure and lava compositions analyzed jointly, there are five levels of crystallization beneath the studied volcanoes, while the number and spatial patterns of magma sources are different for two types of andesitic volcanoes.  相似文献

为了探讨低角度俯冲背景下活动大陆边缘泥火山的分布及其主控因素,收集了大量印度洋北部马克兰增生楔地区的沉积地层、断裂构造及泥火山或泥底辟等资料。综合分析结果显示,研究区沉积地层主要由上、下两部分组成,其中,下部较细的半远洋泥质地层具有“东厚西薄”的特征,而上部较粗的马克兰砂地层具有高速沉积的特征。这种密度倒置且后期沉积速率很高的地层分布特征为该区泥底辟或泥火山的形成提供了物质基础。在马克兰增生楔,阿拉伯板块向欧亚板块汇聚的速率具有“东快西慢”的特点,而且东、西两侧走滑断层和泥火山发育。结合俯冲角度同样较低的地中海海岭板块汇聚速率与泥火山的分布特征认为,马克兰增生楔东、西两侧的泥火山主要受走滑断层的控制,而增生楔内部的泥火山主要受板块汇聚速率、逆冲断裂以及密度倒置等综合因素的控制,表现为“东多西少”的特征。  相似文献

In order to identify the mud diapirs and mud volcanoes off SW Taiwan, we have examined ∼1500 km long MCS profiles and related marine geophysical data. Our results show ten quasi-linear mud diapirs, oriented NNE–SSW to N–S directions. Thirteen mud volcanoes are identified from the multibeam bathymetric data. These mud volcanoes generally occur on tops of the diapiric structures. Moreover, the active mud flow tracks out of mud volcanoes MV1, MV3 and MV6 are observed through the high backscatter intensity stripes on the sidescan sonar images. The heights of the cone-shaped mud volcanoes range from 65 m to 345 m, and the diameters at base from 680 m to 4100 m. These mud volcanoes have abrupt slopes between 5.3° and 13.6°, implying the mudflow is active and highly viscous. In contrast, the flat crests of mud volcanoes are due to relative lower-viscosity flows. The larger cone-shaped mud volcanoes located at deeper water depths could be related to a longer eruption history. The formation of mud diapirs and volcanoes in the study area are ascribed to the overpressure in sedimentary layers, compressional tectonic forces and gas-bearing fluids. Especially, the gas-bearing fluid plays an important role in enhancing the intrusion after the diapirism as a large amount of gas expulsions is observed. The morphology of the upper Kaoping Slope is mainly controlled by mud diapiric intrusions.  相似文献

Analysis of radial, centripetal and gutter drainage in the volcanic region of northern Viti Levu, Fiji, enabled the delineation of several distinct volcanoes, despite the early Pliocene age and considerable later erosion. Three main shields with calderas and several smaller volcanoes are mapped. The results are consistent with some other geological and geophysical facts, but do not support the idea that these volcanoes were dominantly submarine eruptions. The method picks out known centres of gold mineralisation and may be applicable, in conjunction with other techniques, in mineral exploration.  相似文献

东北地区是我国现代火山活动最强烈的地区之一,也是许多学者十分关注的地区。本文回顾了前人提出的关于该地区火山成因的研究成果;通过分析在东北活动火山区大地电磁观测研究的地壳上地幔结构和采用大地电磁网观测研究的地幔1000km以上的电性结构成果,发现长白山天池火山区存在地壳岩浆囊,其它活动火山没有发现地壳岩浆囊,但都存在通往地幔的岩浆通道;东北地区在80~120km左右和200~250km可能存在与地幔岩浆囊相关的地幔高温流体。基于电性结构的研究成果,作者提出了一种东北地区可能的活动火山成因假说。认为东北火山的成因可能与西太平洋板块俯冲到中国东北地区的地幔过渡带后产生脱水有密切关系。这种水以矿物组分或流体方式向上运移,在地幔200-250km和80~120km左右聚集,80~120km的聚集区可能是火山喷发的物质来源。  相似文献
