The northern Gioia Basin of the south‐east Tyrrhenian Sea is a slope basin, ~ 20 km wide and ~ 50 km long, with a bathymetry of ≤ 1300 m, bounded by the Calabro‐Sicilian landmass and the Aeolian Island Arc. Coarse sediment is supplied from the Calabrian margin, where the shelf is very narrow to non‐existent, whereas the wider shelf on the Sicilian margin prevents supply by storing river‐fed sediments. The basin is dominated by the Gioia–Mesima canyon/channel system paralleled by a tongue‐shaped depositional lobe. Multibeam bathymetric surveys, sea floor reflectivity data and airgun seismic profiles reveal the recent evolution of the submarine system. Slope canyons and basin‐floor levéed channels formed where major rivers built deltas at the shelfless Calabrian margin and strong hyperpycnal flows predominated. The channels are a few hundred metres wide and a few tens of metres deep, with a downslope change from a straight to meandering pattern where the slope gradient decreases from 3·2% to 1·7%. The Mesima Channel has its lower segment abandoned because of avulsion and crevasse‐splay formation at an upslope bend. The adjacent Gioia Channel has had its upper segment straightened and lower segment entrenched because of erosional deepening of the Stromboli Valley into which it debouches and which acts as the local base level. Overbank features include levées, coalescent splays and ‘yazoo’ channels; their nature and surface characteristics depend upon the magnitude and sediment grain‐size of spill‐over flows. On an adjoining narrow shelf sliver of the Calabrian margin, in contrast, the coalescing plumes of sediment suspension supplied by an array of smaller coastal streams were apparently spilling over the shelf edge, scouring a funnel‐shaped bypass depression with chutes and forming an elongate, non‐channellized depositional lobe at the slope base. The study demonstrates the impact of sediment source type, shelf width, basin‐floor gradient and base‐level change on the style of deep‐water sedimentation. 相似文献

海底峡谷是全球大陆边缘分布较广泛的地貌单元,是地形地貌、深水沉积和海洋地质灾害领域研究的重要内容。本研究基于高分辨率多波束测深和二维地震资料,以南海西沙东部海域为研究区,深入剖析了东岛北海底峡谷体系。东岛北海底峡谷分布在水深1000~3150 m范围,长度137 km,下切深度70~400 m,表现出西高东低的地形特征,总体由一条主峡谷和4条分支峡谷构成。峡谷上游有东岛西北部Ⅰ区和永兴海台东部Ⅱ区的沉积物供给,峡谷中游加入了东岛东北部Ⅲ区供给的沉积物。3个物源区的沉积物供应以线状的峡谷、水道和面状的块体流沉积类型为主。主峡谷北坡周缘分布有大量的海底麻坑,侧壁呈阶梯状不断后撤垮塌,因重力驱动作用和水流侵蚀,使峡谷壁外缘发育呈不规则小型“枝杈”状水道;主峡谷南岸因浊流作用,发育沉积物波。NE走向主断裂,控制着主干峡谷NE方向延伸,而峡谷南岸分布海山和海丘地形、岩浆底辟,影响主峡谷各分段的转向;同时峡谷和周缘下部地层发育的断层,控制峡谷侧壁向谷底呈阶梯状下降。 相似文献

This paper presents an overview of the evolution of the Nile deep‐sea turbidite system during the last 200 kyr, over a series of glacial to interglacial cycles. Six individual deep‐sea fans were identified from an extensive field data set. Each fan comprises a canyon, channel system and terminal lobes. Two of these fan systems were possibly active at the same time, at least during some periods. Large‐scale slope failures destroyed channel segments and caused the formation of new submarine fan systems. These slope failures thus played an important role in the overall evolution of the turbidite system. During the last glacial maximum (ca 25 to 14·8 ka) the central and eastern parts of the Nile deep‐sea turbidite system were relatively inactive. This inactivity corresponds to a lowstand in sea‐level, and a period of arid climate and relatively low sediment discharge from the Nile fluvial system. Rapid accumulation of fluvial flood‐derived deposits occurred across the shallower part of the submarine delta during sea‐level rise between ca 14·8 and 5 ka. The most recent deep‐sea channel–lobe system was very active during this period of rising sea‐level, which is also associated with a wetter continental climate and increased sediment and water discharge from the Nile. Increased sediment deposition in shallower water areas led to occasional large‐scale slope failure. The Nile deep‐sea turbidite system was largely inactive after ca 5 ka. This widespread inactivity is due to retreat of the coastline away from the continental shelf break, and to a more arid continental climate and reduced discharge of sediment from the Nile. The Nile deep‐sea turbidite system may be more active during periods of rising and high sea‐level associated with wetter climates, than during lowstands, and may rapidly become largely inactive during highstands in sea‐level coupled with arid periods. These acute responses to climate change have produced sedimentary/stratigraphic features that diverge from traditional sequence models in their nature and timing. This large‐scale sedimentary system responded to monsoon‐driven climate change and sea‐level change in a system‐wide and contemporaneous manner. 相似文献

前人提出南海晚第四纪碳酸钙含量变化存在“大西洋型”和“太平洋型”两种基本类型,本文利用δ18O、CaCO3含量、Al2O3含量、SiO2含量、浮游有孔虫丰度及钙质超微化石丰度,来表征南海与台湾东部海域13个柱状样的碳酸盐旋回特征。CaCO3含量和SiO2含量通常是表征碳酸盐旋回的良好指标,二者的变化常呈相互消长关系。研究区碳酸盐旋回包括“大西洋型”和“太平洋型”两种标准型式,但也存在不规则形态。“大西洋型”碳酸盐旋回与海平面冰期-间冰期升降旋回密切相关,本文研究的具有该旋回特征的柱状样主要分布在南海水深3000 m以浅区域,其中南海北部碳酸盐旋回很可能伴随着海平面下降(上升)期间富集陆源较粗(细)颗粒物的过程。“太平洋型”碳酸盐旋回在南海现今碳酸钙溶跃面上下很大水深范围都有分布,碳酸钙溶解作用旋回不是“太平洋型”碳酸盐旋回的根本原因。本文研究的台湾东部海域柱状样碳酸盐旋回既不属于大西洋型,也不属于太平洋型。研究区浅地层沉积速率变化与碳酸盐旋回的型式关系不大,主要受控于水深和冰期旋回中海平面变化。随着水深增大,沉积速率趋于增加。MIS2期平均沉积速率大约是MIS1期平均沉积速率的2倍多。 相似文献

本文紧密围绕IODP“面向2050年大洋钻探科学框架”中的“地球深部探测”旗舰计划和“莫霍面”梦想,研究并总结全球现代洋壳发现的大洋斜长花岗岩的分布规律、岩石组合特征和成因模式,探讨发育大洋斜长花岗岩的南海管事平顶海山是否为深部地壳和莫霍面钻探潜在优选区。统计结果表明大洋斜长花岗岩在多种不同构造背景形成的洋壳上均有发现,包括西南印度洋超慢速扩张构造环境,大西洋、西北太平洋、西印度洋和中印度洋慢速扩张构造环境,东太平洋快速扩张构造环境,南海等边缘海构造环境,伊豆- 小笠原- 马里亚纳(IBM)岛弧、九州- 帕劳海脊、Amami海底高原等洋内俯冲构造环境。多数大洋斜长花岗岩呈脉状零散分布于辉长岩中,意味大洋斜长花岗岩可能形成于洋壳深部,在后期断裂等地质作用下被剥蚀而更容易被发现,成为了解洋壳深部岩浆过程和洋壳结构的一个窗口。管事平顶海山位于南海东部次海盆古扩张脊附近,拖网获得MORB型大洋斜长花岗岩,前人基于地球化学数据认为其可能为辉长岩部分熔融形成。本文推测管事平顶海山大洋斜长花岗岩很可能为洋壳深部物质剥露海底,是南海的一个重要构造窗口,有望成为南海深部地壳和莫霍面钻探的潜在优选区,但需要开展进一步调查研究以验证推测:① 海山大洋斜长花岗岩为拖网所得,位置误差较大,需开展可精确定位的电视抓斗、浅钻或有缆遥控水下机器人(ROV)调查;② 海山目前只发现大洋斜长花岗岩,需调查海山是否发育辉长岩等深部地壳岩石组合;③ 需开展重磁、深反射地震、海底地震仪(OBS)、大地电磁等调查研究,建立管事平顶海山洋壳和上地幔结构模型,查明断裂带分布,揭示莫霍面深度。 相似文献

自20世纪60年代初开展浅海油气苗调查及浅井钻探以来,南海北部边缘盆地迄今在陆架浅水区已勘探发现多个油气田,建成了一定储量规模的油气产能,基本构成了南海北部油气富集区的格[JP2]局。然而,如何保持油气可持续发展,尽快寻找油气储量接替的新领域,这是该区油气勘探所面临的关键问题。南海北部陆坡深水区与世界深水盆地一样,颇具油气资源潜力和勘探前景,近期LW311深水探井钻探的新发现表明,其应是该区油气资源接替非常现实的战略选区和勘探靶区。 相似文献

多次波衰减是海洋地震数据处理中的一个关键问题。东沙海域多次波极其发育,由于地形的急剧变化和地质条件的影响,多次波变形严重(不符合双曲线规律)。采用常规的处理方法效果并不明显,并可能造成成果剖面上出现明显的多次压制痕迹,很难达到保幅处理。针对此区多次波的特点,提出一种频率分离的方法将数据分离后再进行不同处理,可以很好地解决多次波的压制并突出有效波;在没有有效反射的位置,剖面的背景噪音也更符合视觉习惯;更重要的是,处理中没有频率损失,处理结果更和谐。另外,叠前偏移处理技术的运用可以使含水合物地层的接触关系、反射特征更清楚。叠前时间偏移所建立的速度模型也能够表现含水合物地层、BSR与合游离气层的相对速度关系。 相似文献

There are known to be enormous Cenozoic coal-type oil and gas resources located in the basins of the South China Sea,among which the Paleogene coal-measure source rock are one of the main source rock.In order to more effectively analyze the distribution laws of coal-measure source rock in marginal sea basins and guide coal-type oil and gas explorations,the Oligocene coal-measure source rock in the Qiongdongnan Basin were selected as examples in order to systematically analyze the types,development characteristics,control factors,and distribution prediction methods of coalmeasure source rock in marginal sea basins.The Qiongdongnan Basin is located in the northern region of the South China Sea.Previous explorations of the area have determined that the Oligocene coal-measure source rock in the Qiongdongnan Basin have typical"binary structures",which include coal seams and terrigenous marine mudstone.Among those,the terrigenous marine mudstone has been found to greatly expand the scope of the coal-measure source rock.In addition,the coal seams which have been exposed by drilling have been observed to have the characteristics of thin single layer thickness,many layers,and poor stability.Meanwhile,the terrigenous marine mudstone has the characteristics of large thickness and wide distribution.The development of coal-measure source rock is known to be controlled by many factors,such as paleoclimate and paleobotany condition,paleo-structure and topography,paleo-geography,rise and fall of base level,and so on.In accordance with the comprehensive analyses of various control factors of coal-measure source rock,and the changes in water body energy in sedimentary environments,a genetic model of the"energy belt"for the development and distribution of coal-measure source rock was proposed.Also,the development and distribution characteristics of coalmeasure source rock in different types of energy belts were clarified.Then,based on the development and distribution characteristics of coal-measure source rock and their controlling factors,prediction methods of the distribution ranges of coal-measure source rock were proposed from both qualitative and(semi-)quantitative aspects.That is to say,a method for(semi-)quantitative predictions of the distribution ranges of coal-bearing intervals based on model wave impedance inversion and neural network wave impedance inversion,along with a method for(semi-)quantitative predictions of the distribution ranges of terrigenous marine mudstone based on topographical slopes,were introduced in this study. 相似文献

华南大陆南缘和台湾地区发育的中生代海相地层揭示,该区晚三叠世—白垩纪时曾遭受2次海侵。从海水入侵方向分析,南海北缘东部的海区也相应地发育2套中生代海相沉积岩系。地震资料和钻井资料证实,本区珠江口盆地潮汕坳陷和台西南盆地发育巨厚的中生界,上三叠统—下侏罗统以暗色页岩为主,代表水体宽阔、环境稳定的深海相沉积;下白垩统岩性以砂页岩为主,代表环境变化较大的浅海相和海陆过渡相沉积。上三叠统—下侏罗统与下白垩统之间为角度不整合接触。该区中生代地层具有优越的生、储、盖组合和构造圈闭条件以及油气生成、聚集和保存条件,油气资源前景良好。 相似文献

We present a new reconstruction of summer sea‐surface salinity (SSS) over the past 15 000 years based on a diatom record from piston core 17940, located on the northern slope of the South China Sea (SCS). The reconstructed diatom‐based summer SSS values for the modern period are in accord with instrumental observations of summer SSS in the area. Here, the modern summer SSS is primarily controlled by river runoff, in particular from the Pearl River. The reconstruction presented in this study shows that the summer SSS varied between 33.3 and 34.2 psu over the past 15 000 years. The long‐term summer SSS trend closely followed the trend of the orbitally controlled solar insolation at 20°N, suggesting that orbital forcing was the dominant driver of changes in summer SSS in this area. Comparisons to speleothem δ18O data and studies of surface hydrography in the region suggest that changes in solar insolation affected the summer SSS through changes in the East Asian Monsoon and sea‐level changes associated with the last deglaciation. Univariate spectral analyses indicate that centennial‐scale oscillatory variations in summer SSS were superimposed on the long‐term trend. During the deglacial period (c. 12 000–9000 cal. a BP), the dominant periodicity was centred around 230–250 years, whereas a ~350‐year oscillation dominated in the period 2200–4500 cal. a BP. The balance of evidence suggests that these centennial‐scale changes in summer SSS may have been driven by solar‐induced changes in the East Asian Monsoon, but further evidence is needed to firmly establish this relationship. 相似文献

Twelve paleocommunities dominated by benthic brachiopod are recognized in the Givetian-Frasnian stages of the Devonian in the Longmenshan area, southwestern China, in which two kinds of brachiopod community replacement are classified. One is the abrupt replacement, represented by abrupt alternation between the Leiorhynchus community and Zhonghuacoelia-Striatopugnax community in the Frasnian Tuqiaozi Formation. The other is the gradual one, developed in the Givetian Guanwushan Formation, which had been completed by the shift of the Independatrypa lemma-Uncinulus heterocostellis-Emanuella takwanensis community via the SinospongophyUum irregulare-Pseudomicroplasma fongi community to the Clathrocoilona spissa-Hexagonaria composite reef community. According to analyses of the paleocommunities, either the abrupt or gradual paleocommunity replacement of the Middle-Upper Devonian in the Longmenshan area is suggested as a response to the 5th-order sea level fluctuation due to the replacements of the paleocommunities in a tracts-system of depositional sequence. It is supposed that changes of paleocommunity diversity,one of the results of paleocornmunity replacement, are depended on the range and magnitude of sea level fluctuation, but there is not a linear relationship between them. Furthermore, a suggestion is proposed that the concept of paleocommunity succession seem to be abandoned in the paleocommunity analysis because it almost never be practiced to recover the information of community succession in the geological record at present. 相似文献

Speleothems, mostly composed of calcium carbonate, are widely present in modern karst‐originated caves, but have rarely been reported in palaeokarst systems. This study presents a novel type of dolomite speleothem and subsequent submarine dolomite cement, which are widely present in the upper Ediacaran Dengying Formation in the upper Yangtze area. These precipitated materials occur in the cavity system that cuts across several peritidal cycles. The interconnected cavity networks with irregular shapes, embayed walls, internal breccias on cavity floor and their preferential development in the shallower cycle tops (for example, tepee‐deformed beds) suggest that they were initially generated by subaerial dissolution. As the earliest infills, the hemispherical protrusions, icicle‐like pendants and ground‐up columns show similar morphological features and occurrence patterns to the cave popcorn, stalactites and stalagmites, respectively. Thus, these earliest infills are speleothems resulting from associated meteoric precipitation during subaerial exposure. The isopachous growth pattern of subsequent more extensive fibrous dolomite cements points to a submarine diagenetic environment in which they were precipitated. Microscopically, the micritic to micro‐crystalline dolomite, acicular dolomite in speleothems and the subsequent fibrous dolomite share similar crystal fabrics to metastable precursors (for example, Mg‐calcite). Meanwhile, the carbon‐oxygen isotope compositions of the speleothem and fibrous dolomite, although partly altered by burial diagenesis, share a large overlap with host rock and coeval marine carbonates all over the Yangtze Platform. For these reasons, these speleothems and fibrous cements are considered to have been initially precipitated as metastable carbonate precursors in meteoric and submarine environments, respectively, and stabilized during submarine mimetic dolomitization. The cyclic occurrence of cavity systems filled with speleothems and submarine cements reflects periodic subaerial exposure and marine flooding of broad tidal flat in the upper Yangtze area, driven by high‐frequency sea‐level fluctuations. Furthermore, the Neoproterozoic seawater chemistry that favoured early dolomitization of carbonate precursor mineralogies was an advantage for the preservation of fabrics from metastable precursor minerals. 相似文献

天然气水合物是一种新能源,目前,世界上许多国家都在进行天然气水合物研究。琼东南盆地是天然气水合物可能赋存的重点目标区,笔者针对琼东南海域二维地震资料进行以突出含天然气水合物地层地震反射特征为目的的处理,进一步识别含天然气水合物地层地震反射特征与分布。通过应用地震资料保幅处理技术,对该海域含天然气水合物地层地震反射特征,如似海底反射( BSR)、BSR强反射界面之上的高速异常带、BSR附近的振幅空白带、BSR的极性反转等,有了更多的认识,对开展全区含BSR特征研究有借鉴意义。 相似文献

到2001年底,已从全球六大洲18个盆地大于水深500m地域发现580亿桶油当量,90%的油气储量发现于深水浊流沉积体系,这是与近三十年来在全球范围内对深水海域的不懈探索与科学技术进步有着密切的关系。 南海珠江深水扇系统特指广布于南海珠江口盆地近海海域上第三系深水沉积物,主体位于盆地南缘珠二坳陷,属与陆架边缘三角洲体系相联系的、发育于低水位时期的深水沉积系统,其形成具有重要的地质背景,它处于若干重大地质事件的交汇地域,具对应于青藏高原隆升的沉积响应,有独特的由持续沉降所体现的纵向叠置特征,并因应于全球海平面升降变化、呈幕式推进的海侵型沉积系列,构成极为理想的油气储盖组合。因此,以时间耦合、空间耦合与地球动力学耦合为扭带,用整体、系统的论点研讨与分析南海深水扇系统的形成特征,获得一球五源(缘)是南海深水扇系统的主控因素的结论。 相似文献

AbstractCoal measures located in marginal sea basins are important hydrocarbon source rocks. For the purpose of effectively guiding future oil and gas exploration, the characteristics and distribution patterns of coal seams in coal measures of a marginal sea basin are systematically outlined. Coal measures in marginal sea basins can have large thicknesses, but the individual coal seams can be very thin and lack lateral continuity. In the study area, the organic micro-components of the coal are dominated by vitrinite, with very low amounts of inertinite and liptinite. The amount of inorganic microscopic components is large, but with limited drilling results, few cores and thin coal seams, which are easily overlooked during logging activities, a comprehensive analysis of the logging data may improve efficiency in coal-seam identification and thickness determination. The development and distribution of coal seams in marginal sea basins are controlled by various factors, including (1) paleoclimatic and paleobotanic conditions, which could fundamentally limit coal formation, (2) coal-forming sedimentary environmental conditions that may limit the scope of coal-seam development from a macroscopic perspective, and (3) paleotectonic and paleotopographic conditions that define the coal-forming structures. Therefore, the descending and rising cycles of base-levels, along with changes in the growth rates of the accommodation spaces, can be used to determine the horizons that are potentially favourable for coal formation and can also indicate the migration trends of coal-forming environments on the structural plane. Seismic wave impedance inversion methods could be utilised for semi-quantitative assistance for prediction of coal seams. In summary, for models of coal-seam development in marginal sea basins, the grades should be divided according to reliability, and the different reliability levels should be predicted separately.

缺氧条件是形成和保存优质烃源岩的重要条件。古氧相的研究对查明海相优质烃源岩时空分布、恢复地史时期古环境演化具有重要意义。泥盆纪时期,南华海受陆内裂陷作用影响,形成台地(滨岸台地和孤立台地)与台沟间列的盆地格局。不同的控制因素控制了古氧相的类型。在台沟和钦防裂陷海槽中,海水分层控制了泥盆纪的古氧相类型和变化。台沟和钦防裂陷海槽以厌氧相与准厌氧相为主。在台地相区,海平面变化控制了古氧相的类型和分布。台地相区的古氧相主要是常氧相和贫氧相。南华海中、晚泥盆世硅质沉积、磷质沉积发育,有机质丰富,形成了有机质-硅质-磷质沉积三位一体的特征,指示上升流作用明显。南华海地区泥盆纪位于赤道附近的信风带,向西的表面洋流越过南华海在西部形成离岸流,海底海水向东补充形成上升的底流,也说明了泥盆纪南华海上升流存在的可能性。 相似文献
