Whole-rock major element chemical analyses of progressively metamorphosed impure carbonate rocks and pelitic schists, collected from the same metamorphic terrain, reveal similarities and differences in the chemical response of these rock types to the metamorphic event. Relative to a constant aluminum reference frame, both schist and carbonate exhibit no detectable change in their contents of Fe, Mg, Ti, Si, and Ca with change in metamorphic grade. Carbonate rocks become progressively depleted in K and Na with increasing grade of metamorphism, while schists exhibit no statistically significant change in their contents of K and Na. Both rock types become depleted in volatiles (principally CO2 and H2O) with increasing grade.Whole-rock chemical data permit two mechanisms for migration of K and Na from the carbonate rocks during metamorphism: (a) diffusion of alkalis from carbonate to adjacent schist; (b) transport of alkalis by through-flowing metamorphic fluid (infiltration). Mineral equilibria in schist and metacarbonate rock from the same outcrops allow calculation of the affinity for cation exchange between the two rock types during metamorphism. Measured affinities indicate that if mass transport of K and Na occurred by diffusion, chemical potential gradients would have driven the alkalis from schist into carbonate rock. Because diffusion cannot produce the observed chemical trends in the metacarbonates, K and Na are believed to have been removed during metamorphism by infiltration.The disparity in chemical behavior between the pelitic schists and metacarbonate rocks may be a result of enhanced fluid flow through the carbonates. The carbonate rocks may have acted as metamorphic aquifers; the greater flow of fluid through them would then have had a correspondingly greater effect on their whole-rock chemistry.  相似文献

Micas from magmatic and metamorphic rocks differ from one another in chemical composition and in trace element content. The chemical composition of micas is discussed in relation to their occurrence, paragenesis and sequence of crystallization. On the basis of previous studies of the relationship between the physical properties and the chemical composition of 34 chemically analysed micas, reliable physical methods have been established which permit identification of different mica varieties in the same rock. Structural formulae and trace element content of micas from basic and granitic rocks, as well as from skarns, schists, ortho- and paragneisses are discussed. The relationship between the components of the tetrahedral and octahedral layers and of the interlayer are illustrated as ratios. Poorly differentiated, hybrid and metasomatic rocks often contain more than one variety of mica. Some prophyritic basalts and lamprophyres contain an early phlogopite which is paragenetically related to pyroxene phenocrysts and late biotite which occurs in the groundmass and in the fractures as a result of the crystallization of residual magma. The biotitemuscovite assemblage was observed in granodiorites, quartz-monzonites, schists and gneisses. In the albite-K-feldspar granites, muscovite predominates and the biotite is usually altered. The chemical composition of micas from metamorphic rocks depends on the grade of metamorphism and on the nature of associated minerals. The biotite from paragneisses contains considerable quantities of octahedral alumina. Pre-metamorphic micas show variable deficiencies of the (OH, F) group. The micas are useful minerals in determining the degree of differentiation and subsequent alteration of igneous rocks. Isochemical contact metamorphism was observed in 3 localities based on 184 chemical analyses of rock samples and the significance tested using simple statistical techniques. The intrusions included gabbro, granosyenite, and granitic type rocks being intruded into respective schists, clays and shales, and schists and gneisses. Conductive heat transfer appeared to be the most important heat transfer mechanism in isochemical contact metamorphism. During isochemical metamorphism both H2O and CO2 were rather mobile and impoverished in the metamorphic rocks.  相似文献

Sub-ophiolite metamorphic rocks from NW Anatolia, Turkey   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
The metamorphic rocks from near Kütahya in north-west Anatolia record different stages in the history of closure of the Neo-Tethyan İzmir–Ankara–Erzincan ocean. Sub-ophiolite metamorphic rocks within the Tavşanlı zone are a tectonically composite sequence of quartz–mica schists, amphibole schists, amphibolites and garnet amphibolites. They show increasing metamorphic grade towards the base of the ophiolite. A first metamorphic event, typical of sub-ophiolite metamorphic sole rocks, was characterized by high-grade assemblages, and followed by retrograde metamorphism. A second event was marked by a medium-to high-pressure overprint of the first-stage metamorphic assemblages with assemblages indicating a transition between the blueschist and greenschist facies. The chemistry of the sub-ophiolite metamorphic rocks indicates an ocean island basalt origin, and Ar–Ar dating indicates a high temperature metamorphic event at 93±2 Ma. Counter-clockwise P–T–t paths recorded by the sub-ophiolite metamorphic rocks are interpreted to result from intra-oceanic thrusting during the closure of the İzmir– Ankara–Erzincan ocean, initiating subduction, which formed the high-temperature assemblages. Further subduction then produced the widespread blueschists of the Tavşanlı zone during the Late Cretaceous. Later cold thrusting obducted the ophiolite (with the metamorphic sole welded to its base), ophiolitic melanges and blueschists onto the Anatolide passive margin in the latest Cretaceous. All these events pre-date the final Anatolide–Pontide continent–continent collision.  相似文献

抚顺-清原地区位于辽宁省东北部,面积约2500Km~2.区内太古代变质岩系广泛发育,其下部为深变质的麻粒岩相地层,上部为中深变质的角闪岩相地层,后者产出红透山式铜锌矿床多处(属红透山地区),以及张胡子沟铜矿床和大荒沟硫铁矿床(属清原北部地区)等一系列块状硫化物矿床(图1).矿石中铅同位素年令为25~26亿年,在形成时代上可以和鞍本地区鞍山群对比.  相似文献

Carbonaceous material in pelitic schists of the Sanbagawa metamorphic belt in central Shikoku, Japan, was separated from the host rocks and its X-ray diffraction and chemical composition were studied. Its crystal structure and chemistry change continously with increasing metamorphic grade and approach those of well-ordered graphite near the biotite isograd. As graphitization is a rate process, the temperature of complete graphitization differs from one metamorphic terrain to another as a function of the duration of metamorphism. In an individual metamorphic terraan, however, the degree of graphitization is a useful indicator of relative metamorphic temperature in lower-grade rocks.  相似文献

莫尔道嘎地处额尔古纳地块中北段,该区发育一套中低级变质的佳疙瘩组变质岩,如千枚岩、云母片岩和变质砂岩;但是目前其原岩类型、物质来源以及沉积环境尚不明确.基于全岩主微量元素测试和LA-ICP-MS U-Pb定年,结果表明千枚岩类和云母片岩类总体富Al和K,变质砂岩类总体富Si.岩石轻稀土明显富集,具负铕异常特征,高场强元素相对富集,Sr强烈亏损,Nb、Ta、P、Ti相对亏损.原岩性质及构造环境分析表明,原岩类型主要是杂砂岩和粘土岩,物源以长英质成分为主,并混有少量古老沉积物.它们形成于活动大陆边缘,并存在较多大陆岛弧性质物质,成熟度不高,属于近源沉积.岩石样品中的碎屑锆石多为岩浆成因,且显示了较大的年龄变化,主要集中在新元古代(1.0~0.8 Ga)和古元古代(2.0~1.8 Ga),说明佳疙瘩组的沉积物源时代主要为新元古代和古元古代.   相似文献

The late Paleozoic Wudaogou Group, one of the oldest metamorphic units in the eastern Yanbian area, has important tectonic and metallogenic significance. Here, we provide new insights into their protoliths, tectonic setting of the metamorphic rocks and their relationships with the gold and tungsten mineralization, using new petrographic and whole‐rock geochemical data for various lithologies within the Wudaogou Group. The protolith of the metamorphic rocks of the Wudaogou Group was intermediate–basic volcanic rocks (e.g. basaltic andesite, trachyandesite, and basalt) and sedimentary rocks including argillaceous rocks, quartz sandstone, arkose and clayish greywacke, as well as pyroclastic sedimentary rock, covering tuffaceous sandstone. Before undergoing late Paleozoic epidote–amphibolite facies regional metamorphism, these protoliths were formed during the middle–late Permian in an island arc setting within a continental margin collage zone. Combined with the regional tectonic evolution, it can be speculated that the formation and the subsequent metamorphism of the protoliths of the metamorphic rocks from the Wudaogou Group were influenced by the change from subduction to collision of the Paleo‐Asian Ocean. Similarities of the rare earth element (REE) patterns and parameters among the metamorphic rocks within the Wudaogou Group, auriferous ores from the Xiaoxi'nancha gold (copper) deposit, and scheelites from the Yangjingou tungsten deposit, together with the favorable metallogenic element contents within the metamorphic rock series, imply that the Wudaogou Group could provide parts of metallic material for the gold and tungsten mineralization in the eastern Yanbian area, as exemplified by the Yangjingou deposit and Xiaoxi'nancha deposit, respectively. Further, the metamorphic sedimentary rocks, especially the metamorphic sandstones, quartz schists and quartz mica schists within the Wudaogou Group, have closer genetic relationships with the Yangjingou tungsten mineralization. However, the specific lithologies within this group which control the gold mineralization are still uncertain, and need further research.  相似文献

The Sanbagawa metamorphic rocks in the Besshi district, central Shikoku, are grouped into eclogite and noneclogite units. Chloritoid and barroisite-bearing pelitic schists occur as interlayers within basic schist in an eclogite unit of the Seba area in the Sanbagawa metamorphic belt, central Shikoku, Japan. Major matrix phases of the schists are garnet, chlorite, barroisite, paragonite, phengite, and quartz. Eclogite facies phases including chloritoid and talc are preserved only as inclusions in garnet. PT conditions for the eclogite facies stage estimated using equilibria among chloritoid, barroisite, chlorite, interlayered chlorite–talc, paragonite, and garnet are 1.8 GPa/520–550 °C. Zonal structures of garnet and matrix amphibole show discontinuous growth of minerals between their core and mantle parts, implying the following metamorphic stages: prograde eclogite facies stage→hydration reaction stage→prograde epidote–amphibolite stage. This metamorphic history suggests that the Seba eclogite lithologies were (1) juxtaposed with subducting noneclogite lithologies during exhumation and then (2) progressively recrystallized under the epidote–amphibolite facies together with the surrounding noneclogite lithologies.

The pelitic schists in the Seba eclogite unit contain paragonite of two generations: prograde phase of the eclogite facies included in garnet and matrix phase produced by local reequilibration of sodic pyroxene-bearing eclogite facies assemblages during exhumation. Paragonite is absent in the common Sanbagawa basic and pelitic schists, and is, however, reported from restricted schists from several localities near the proposed eclogite unit in the Besshi district. These paragonite-bearing schists could be lower-pressure equivalents of the former eclogite facies rocks and are also members of the eclogite unit. This idea implies that the eclogite unit is more widely distributed in the Besshi district than previously thought.  相似文献

As a result of a detailed study of the chemical composition of minerals from garnet-biotite gneisses and biotite-pyroxene-amphibole schists it was revealed that rocks of the most ancient Selyankinskaya formation were subjected to the entire (progressive and regressive) amphibolite facies metamorphic cycle. Moreover, the metamorphic PT-path was calculated and the relationship between metamorphism and granitization and tectonogenesis of the dome structures at the collision stage of the Hercynian orogeny was considered.  相似文献

位于红河-哀牢山断裂带北延的点苍山杂岩由中部深变质杂岩、西侧中生界浅变质-未变质的火山-沉积岩系和东部叠加退变质岩带组成.中部深变质杂岩包括类片麻岩-长英质岩类、云母片岩、大理岩类和角闪质岩石.岩石普遍遭受角闪岩相变质作用和混合岩化作用的改造,形成条带状、条纹状、条痕状和角砾状等具有不同构造特点的混合岩.混合岩中有两种不同的脉体物质(花岗质岩脉),它们含有具不同特点的锆石颗粒,即由混合岩化作用改造形成的低Th/U比值锆石颗粒和由岩浆结晶作用形成的高Th/U比值锆石颗粒.对于锆石颗粒采用SHRIMP U-Pb测年,揭示出二者具有相近的年龄值,分别为842.5±9.9Ma与833±9Ma.它们的存在揭示出从混合岩化作用向岩浆作用的转变.混合岩的变形作用、变质作用特点分析,尤其是对于花岗质脉体的锆石年代学研究揭示出,点苍山深变质杂岩与扬子地块基底具有显著的相似性.结合扬子地块新元古代整体构造-岩浆活动性规律,揭示出由板块俯冲与消减引起,早于新元古代Rodinia裂解时期地幔柱上涌事件.  相似文献

Rocks of the greenschist facies in eastern Otago, New Zealand, have been investigated in an area some thirteen to sixteen kilometers wide and sixty-five kilometers long extending northeastwards approximately normal to the boundary of the schist with lower grade rocks. Quartzo-feldspathic schists predominate but greenschists and metacherts occur sporadically throughout the area. At the southwestern edge of the area schists are in the chlorite zone, slightly above the high-grade limit of pumpellyite. Metamorphic grade increases toward the northeast into the biotite zone which occupies about half the terrane studied and is believed to be everywhere little advanced in metamorphic grade past that of the biotite isograd. Some 130 mineral specimens have been partially analysed with the electron probe. Results derived from these data as well as other mineralogical investigation are as follows: Albite contains a maximum of 1% anorthite plus orthoclase in epidote-bearing rocks from all parts of the area.Compositions of epidotes range from 12% to 32% Ca2Fe3(SiO4)3(OH), but most lie between 15% and 20%, a compositional field thought by Strens (1965) and Holdaway (1965) to occupy a miscibility gap in the epidote series. Zoning in some epidotes suggests a history of early growth of small, sparse iron-rich epidotes, and later growth of relatively large amounts of iron-poor epidote probably caused by breakdown of prehnite and/or pumpellyite. Muscovites vary widely in celadonite content; but the composition shows little if any dependence on metamorphic grade within the area studied. Most tend to be celadonite-rich, and in this respect are similar in composition to muscovites from rocks of the glaucophane-schist facies.Chlorites range widely in Mg/Fe; but Al/Mg+Fe is relatively uniform. Chlorites associated with actinolite tend to have higher Mg/Fe than those associated with stilpnomelane. Following the classification of Foster (1962) most chlorites are brunsvigite and some are ripidolite. Textural and chemical relations between biotite and coexisting minerals demonstrate that, contrary to some previous suggestions, biotite is not a relict mineral. An alteration product of chlorite bears strong resemblance to biotite, and previous misidentification of this mineral as biotite has caused much confusion regarding the distribution and metamorphic significance of biotite in Otago schists.An attempt to determine the reaction producing biotite is not successful. Possibly biotitebearing rocks have slightly higher biotite component than rocks of the chlorite zone. All newly formed amphibole found in eastern Otago is pale green, Al- and Na-poor actinolite. One of the chemical conditions necessary for the formation of actinolite in schists of eastern Otago is a relatively high Mg/Fe+Al ratio.Stilpnomelane is an integral part of assemblages in which it occurs, being developed under conditions of relatively low and in rocks with a high Fe/Mg + Al ratio. The present highly oxidized state of all stilpnomelane observed in this study is probably not a primary feature of the mineral but developed after metamorphism.Porphyroblastic garnets are accessory constituents in about half the quartzo-feldspathic schists collected from the biotite zone but are extremely rare in specimens of the same lithology from the chlorite zone. Either a garnet-producing reaction began in quartzo-feldspathic schists at about the biotite isograd, or rocks of biotite zone tend to have slightly higher garnet component than those of the chlorite zone. Composition of the garnets ranges widely, extremes being: 77% spess., 18% gross., 5% alm.; 25% spess., 50% gross., 25% alm.; 15% spess., 30% gross., 55% alm. Most of the variation in composition is controlled by host rock composition, but garnets at higher grade tend to have lower spessartine content. The garnets are zoned; generally Mn decreases and Fe increases from core to rim.For the most part chemical equilibrium among different grains and minerals was closely approached over distances of at least a few millimeters. However, profound disequilibrium exists within some individual grains, such as a zoned garnet which over a distance of only 15 microns ranges in spessartine content from 77% in the core to 35% on the rim.This report is a condensed version of part of the author's Ph.D. thesis (Brown, 1966), University of California, Berkeley.  相似文献

在柴北缘的鱼卡-锡铁山-沙柳河一带,出露夹有榴辉岩透镜体的花岗质片麻岩(正片麻岩)和副片麻岩(片岩)。地球化学和Sm-Nd同位素数据显示副片麻岩(片岩)与正片麻岩具有类似的地球化学成分和一致的Nd模式年龄(1.88~2.18Ga),结合副片麻岩(片岩)局部包在正片麻岩中的野外关系,正片麻岩可能为副片麻岩(片岩)原地熔融作用的产物。U-Pb锆石测定表明熔融作用产生的正片麻岩的岩浆形成时代为952Ma。另外,这些夹榴辉岩的片麻岩(片岩)也与柴北缘北侧不夹榴辉岩的深变质基底片麻岩和中南祁连地块的变质基底片麻岩有相似Sm-Nd同位素特征和近一致Nd模式年龄(1.87~2.26Ga)。表明它们具有明显的亲缘关系,可能来源于具有古元古代晚期地壳形成年龄的同一变质基底。然而,与柴北缘北 侧和祁连地块的深变质基底岩石不同的是,这套含榴辉岩的片麻岩(片岩)明显遭受了早古生代变质作用的影响,正片麻岩锆石U-Pb测定获得的下交点年龄为478±44Ma,与柴北缘地区榴辉岩的变质锆石的年龄在误差范围内一致;而已在都兰地区副片麻岩锆石中柯石英包体的发现也证明了含榴辉岩的片麻岩(片岩)与榴辉岩一样同样经历了UHP变质作用。因此,我们认为柴北缘含榴辉岩的片麻岩虽然具有与相邻变质基底相似的早期演化历史,但在早古生代又与所夹的榴辉岩  相似文献

苏鲁造山带超高压变质带内部出露仅经过绿片岩相变质作用的浅变质岩系,地质调查显示,石桥浅变质岩与周边超高压变质岩呈构造接触(构造片岩);地球化学研究证实,该浅变质岩形成于扬子板块北缘大陆边缘厚地壳上裂陷或沉积盆地的构造背景;单矿物电子探针分析结果显示,其部分浅变质岩发育多硅白云母,形成于中-高压相变质环境,说明这些浅变质岩曾经历大陆板块俯冲的动力变质作用过程。在此基础上,进一步讨论浅变质岩的成因机制及其与超高压变质岩和扬子板块俯冲之间的关系。  相似文献

The metamorphic rocks of the Kuekvun uplift are gneisses and schists that developed after Mid-Paleozoic sedimentary sequences, which consist mostly of terrigenous rocks with minor amounts of intermediate to mafic igneous rocks and subordinate carbonates. Two plagiogneiss samples that were selected for detailed analysis were taken from the axial part and flanks of the uplift. The mineral paragenesis and composition of coexisting garnet, biotite, and staurolite indicate a metamorphic temperature of 560–600°C and pressure of 2.5–4 kbar, corresponding to a depth of 8–12 km. These conditions suggest a relatively high geothermal gradient (about 60°C/km), approaching that for contact metamorphic aureoles. Garnets from the axial zone and flanks of the uplift display a similar zoning pattern. The difference is the presence of compositionally contrasting Ca-rich rims in garnets from the axial zone. These rims may be either the result of zoning within the entire metamorphic complex or a late local overprint, e.g., crystallization of granitic plutons, which are common within the study area.  相似文献

Metamorphic equilibration requires chemical communication between minerals and may be inhibited through sluggish volume diffusion and or slow rates of dissolution in a fluid phase. Relatively slow diffusion and the perceived robust nature of chemical growth zoning may preclude garnet porphyroblasts from readily participating in low‐temperature amphibolite facies metamorphic reactions. Garnet is widely assumed to be a reactant in staurolite‐isograd reactions, and the evidence for this has been assessed in the Late Proterozoic Dalradian pelitic schists of the Scottish Highlands. The 3D imaging of garnet porphyroblasts in staurolite‐bearing schists reveals a good crystal shape and little evidence of marginal dissolution; however, there is also lack of evidence for the involvement of either chlorite or chloritoid in the reaction. Staurolite forms directly adjacent to the garnet, and its nucleation is strongly associated with deformation of the muscovite‐rich fabrics around the porphyroblasts. “Cloudy” fluid inclusion‐rich garnet forms in both marginal and internal parts of the garnet porphyroblast and is linked both to the production of staurolite and to the introduction of abundant quartz inclusions within the garnet. Such cloudy garnet typically has a Mg‐rich, Mn‐poor composition and is interpreted to have formed during a coupled dissolution–reprecipitation process, triggered by a local influx of fluid. All garnet in the muscovite‐bearing schists present in this area is potentially reactive, irrespective of the garnet composition, but very few of the schists contain staurolite. The staurolite‐producing reaction appears to be substantially overstepped during the relatively high‐pressure Barrovian regional metamorphism reflecting the limited permeability of the schists in peak metamorphic conditions. Fluid influx and hence reaction progress appear to be strongly controlled by subtle differences in deformation history. The remaining garnet fails to achieve chemical equilibrium during the reaction creating distinctive patchy compositional zoning. Such zoning in metamorphic garnet created during coupled dissolution–reprecipitation reactions may be difficult to recognize in higher grade pelites due to subsequent diffusive re‐equilibration. Fundamental assumptions about metamorphic processes are questioned by the lack of chemical equilibrium during this reaction and the restricted permeability of the regional metamorphic pelitic schists. In addition, the partial loss of prograde chemical and textural information from the garnet porphyroblasts cautions against their routine use as a reliable monitor of metamorphic history. However, the partial re‐equilibration of the porphyroblasts during coupled dissolution–reprecipitation opens possibilities of mapping reaction progress in garnet as a means of assessing fluid access during peak metamorphic conditions.  相似文献

前寒武纪变沉积岩系是阿拉善地块重要组成部分,准确测定其原岩成岩时代和变质时代,对于进一步认识阿拉善地块起源、形成、演化与亲缘性具有十分重要的科学意义.本文对阿拉善地块东部阿拉坦敖包地区德尔和通特组含蓝晶石石榴云母石英片岩开展了系统的野外地质调查、岩相学观察和同位素年代学研究.碎屑锆石U-Pb定年和野外地质调查表明,阿拉坦敖包地区德尔和通特组和祖宗毛道组碎屑锆石年龄介于3 306~1 146 Ma,并以出现中元古代锆石年龄(1 800~1 100 Ma)高频区为特征,最小一组碎屑锆石年龄约为1 123 Ma,结合区域上它们被约900 Ma花岗质片麻岩侵入的野外关系,阿拉坦敖包地区德尔和通特组与祖宗毛道组变沉积岩系的沉积时代被限定在1 123~900 Ma之间,为一套中元古代晚期?新元古代早期陆缘沉积建造,具有亲华北板块的特点.此外,变质独居石和变质锆石U-Pb定年和微量元素分析表明,阿拉坦敖包地区德尔和通特组含蓝晶石泥质片岩中发育大量变质独居石,它们具有典型变质独居石的稀土元素配分模式(轻稀土元素强烈富集而重稀土元素强烈亏损),其加权平均年龄为419±3 Ma(MSWD=7.1,n=40),类似地,一个锆石变质边也记录了406±7 Ma的206Pb/238U年龄.这些变质年龄被解释为阿拉善地块东部阿拉坦敖包地区德尔和通特组含蓝晶石石榴云母石英片岩遭受早古生代末角闪岩相变质?变形作用的时代,可能是阿拉善地块与周缘微陆块早古生代末碰撞造山作用的响应.   相似文献

A contact zone sandwiched between an arc and an oceanic crust was discovered in the Laohushan area in the present study. It consists of a series of north-dipping imbricated thrust sheets and is exposed on the surface as a narrow arcuate belt, which extends for about 30 km in an E-W direction and measures about 1-3 km wide. Lithologically, it can be divided into four subzones. Subzone 1 consists of meta-andesite and metasandstone; subzone 2, psammitic schists; subzone 3, psammitic and pelitic schists, quartz diorite and hornfelses; and subzone 4, metagabbro, epidote amphibolite and pelitic schists. The metamorphism has the following grading sequence: low greenschist facies in subzone 1 → high greenschist facies in subzone 2 →low amphibolite facies in subzone 3→ epidote amphibolite facies in subzone 4. Petrographic and geochemical evidence shows that rocks in subzones 1, 2 and 3 are arc rocks, whereas those of subzone 4 are oceanic crustal rocks. 在五台山绿岩带中的东腰庄金矿 ,发现部分容矿绢云母石英 (片 )岩实为变质基性岩 (变质辉绿岩—辉绿玢岩或安山玢岩 )岩床在五台期构造作用下发生强烈的剪切变形和变质热液蚀变的产物。说明以绢云母石英 (片 )岩作为容矿围岩的东腰庄金矿 ,确有部分为变质基性岩在含金剪切带中发生热液蚀变的后生成因。矿床的形成和矿质的富集受剪切变形机制控制明显 ,并与区域构造背景有着密切的关系  相似文献
