Lobophora rosacea C.W. Vieira, Payri et De Clerck is reported from the South China Sea for the first time. Our specimens are very similar to L. rosacea recently described from New Caledonia, not only in morphology but also in rbcL and cox3 gene sequences. The fan-shaped thallus grows erectly, attaching to the substrate by a basal holdfast. The thallus is composed of a single layer of large medullary cells and three to four layers of cortical cells on both sides of the medulla. Mature sporophytes are detected, with sporangium sori scattered on both surfaces of the thallus.  相似文献

Several papers have reported that part or whole leafy thallus seemingly consisting of zygotospores can give rise to both blades and conchocelis in the same culture of Porphyra. Study on samples of wild and cultivated Porphyra yezoensis and P. oligospermatangia were conducted to clarify the origination of the young blades in the culture. It is confirmed that single cells on the blade of both species, which normally intermixed with zygotospores, germinated into young blades. TEM and SEM observation has shown that the single cells of Porphyra yezoensis had typical features of female gamete (carpogonia) but archeospore. Therefore, the female gametes are responsible in developing leafy thalli.  相似文献

Silvetia babingtonii is a potentially economic brown alga for sources of food and high-value added utilization. So far, sporeling nursery and field cultivation has not been successful. The lack of knowledge on development and life cycle of this alga hinder the development of techniques for the sporeings and cultivation. In this study, internal structure of oogonium and antherium of S. babingtonii was observed with hematoxylin and eosin staining and through microscope. Meanwhile, early development from zygotes to juvenile sporelings was studied at 20℃ under 60–100 μmol photons m-2 s-1. Zygotes germinated and divided into thallus and rhizoid cells. The larger thallus cells further divided and developed into juvenile sporelings; while the smaller rhizoid cells divided and elongated into rhizoid hairs. These findings documented the life cycle of S. babingtonii and provided fundamental knowledge for sporeling nursery in the near future.  相似文献

Endogenous levels of UVAC in different parts of matured gametophytic blades of Porphyra haitanensis and the effect of exogenous UVAC on sporangial branchlet formation are studied. The UVAC value in vegetative (36. 78 mg/g) and reproductive (29.25 mg/g) parts of female thallus is higher than their counterparts in male thallus (34.68 mg/g and 20.46 mg/g). The UVAC value of reproductive parts is higher than vegetative parts of same sexual thallus. The optimal UVAC concentration for sporangial branchlet formation is 0.1 mg/g.  相似文献

用比较解剖学方法观察提江沿海浒苔属(Enteromorpha )海藻的形态结构,并结合统计分析对其进行 物种鉴定。结果表明,依据藻体分校的有元、数量及分校与主枝直径的大小等形态特征,鉴定的浒苔属j海藻有6种1个变型,分别为缘管浒苔(E. linza)、肠浒苔( E. intestinalis )、扁浒苔( E. compressa ) ,浒苔(E. proliferα)、 条浒苔(E. clathratα)、由浒苔( E·flexω5α)和肠浒苔宽叶变型( E. intestinalis f.broadifolium) 0藻体长度由 大到小依次为浒苔、条浒苔、缘管浒苔、肠浒苔、扁浒苔和炀浒苔宽叶变型:细胞呈多角形,藻体的位置不同其细胞大小有所变化,除由浒苔和条浒苔外,其他4种1个变型浒苔的中部细胞最小;所有种类的细胞均有淀粉核,其中肠浒苔、缘管浒苔和扇浒苔仅1个淀粉核,而其他种出现多个淀粉核,尤其条浒苔和曲浒苔数量最多,可达6个以上。定量描述浒苔属6种1个变型的形态特征、内部结构,并发现浒苔属海藻非中空营状的结构特征。  相似文献

There are many reports that cells (protoplasts) separated from the thallus of Porphyra by enzyme can develop to normal leafy thalli in the same way as monopores. But there are few investigations on the subcellular structure of the isolated vegetative cell for ccmparison with the subcellular structure of monospores. To clarify whether the separated and cultured cells undergo the same or similar ultrastructure changes during culture and germination as monospores undergo in their formation and germination, we observed their ultrastructure, ccxnpared them with those of the monospore and found that the ultrastructure of separated and cultured cells did not have the characteristic feature as that of monospore formarion, such as production of small and large fibrous vesicles, but was acccxnpanied by vacuolation andstarch mobilization like that in monospore germination. The authors observed the ultrastructure of isolated vegetative cells cultured on semi solid media and compared them with those of monospores and isolated cells cultured in liquid media. The results showed that subcellular structures were quite different among cells in different conditions. In their development, isolated cells on semi solid media did not show the characteristic subcellular feature of monospore formation, such as production of fibrous vesicles. Callus like cells formed on semi solid media underwent a distinctive modification in cellular organization. They developed characteristic cell inclusions and a special 2 layer cell covering. The early stage differentiation of thallus cells ofPorphyra haitanensis T. J. Chang et B. F. Zheng was studied. Protoplasts or single cells were isolated from the blades using enzyme mixture comprising 2% sea snail gut enzyme and 1% cellulase. The isolated protoplasts or single cells were incubated in the MES medium. The cell differentiations were examined under the microscope at intervals after incubation. Four types of cell differentiation, namely, normal, abnormal, carposporangial and spermatorangial, and rhizoidal types, were observed. Since normal cell differentiations occur mostly in small thalli 50 mm in length and middle portions of big thalli 200 mm in length, it is essential to select tissues from these two kinds of thalli essential for commercial production.  相似文献

This research deals mainly with the use of the vegetative cells of a marine red algaPorphyra haitanensis (laver) as seeds and their culture into young thalli for further cultivation in the sea. The experimental process was as follows. Enzymatically isolated vegetative cells were attached to rope substrates and cultured in the laboratory for a month until they became about 0.2–0.5 cm long sporelings and were then attached (7–15 sporelings per cm of rope) to nets for removal to the open sea for cultivation. A month after culturing, the thalli reached a maximum length of 50 cm (average of 20–30 cm). The thalli grew faster as the water temperature dropped from 21°C to 17°C. It was proved that the vegetative cells isolated from a small thallus about 5 cm long could grow up into normal thalli after being kept frozen for a year. The results of this study show that vegetative cells can be used as new seeds to simplify the production of laver sporelings. This technique is a significant advance in the field ofPorphyra culture.  相似文献

Grateloupia ramosa Wang & Luan sp. nov. (Halymeniaceae, Rhodophyta) is newly described from Hainan Province, southern China. The organism has the following morphological features: (1) purplish red, cartilaginous and lubricous thalli 5–10 cm in height; (2) compressed percurrent axes bearing abundant branches with opposite arrangement; (3) claw-like apices on top, constricted to 2–4 cm at the base; (4) cortex consisting of 3–6 layers of elliptical or anomalous cells and a medulla covered by compact medullary filaments; (5) reproductive structures distributed throughout the thallus, especially centralized at the bottom of the end portion of the branches; and (6) 4-celled Carpogonial branches and 3-celled auxiliary-cell branches, both of the Grateloupia-type. The morphological diff erences were supported by molecular phylogenetics based on ribulose-1, 5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (rbcL) gene sequence analysis. There was only a 1 bp divergence between specimens collected from Wenchang and Lingshui of Hainan province. The new species was embedded in the large Grateloupia clade of the Halymeniaceae. The pairwise distances between G. ramosa and other species within Grateloupia ranged from 26 to 105 bp, within pairwise distances of 13–111 bp between species of the large genus Grateloupia in Halymeniaceae. Thus, we propose this new species as G. ramosa Wang & Luan sp. nov.  相似文献

The rbcL gene of Ulva pertusa,Enteromorpha prolifera and Monostroma grevillei was amplified,sequenced and analyzed.By comparing the rbcL sequences with seven other Ulvales species retrieved from GenBank,the sequence divergences and the phyletic evolution were analyzed and the phylogenetic tree was constructed.From the phylogenetic tree,it can be found that U.pertusa,E.prolifera and U.californica group in one branch,while E.compressa,U.rigida and U.fenestrata cluster in another clade.Obviously,unlike the Enteomorpha species,the Ulva species do not gather in one branch.Therefore Ulva and Enteomorpha might be affiliates of one genus.E.compressa and E.intestinalis gathered together,which coincided with the morphological characters.However,the thallus of U.pertusa is thick and with many holes,which is different from E.prolifera in morphology.They cluster together in the phylogenetic tree with a genetic distance of 0.005.The results indicate that Ulva and Enteromorpha are not distinguished strictly.  相似文献

We conducted a phenological evaluation of Sargassum thunbergii, a common algal species, along the coast of Lidao Bay, Rongcheng, China. The local S. thunbergii population entered a maturation period from early June to mid-August, when seawater temperature was 14.4 to 25.1°C. Our results suggest an increase in temperature and day length during this period initiated thalli maturation. Inhabitants of the low tidal zone had higher thalli length and biomass compared with those from the mid-and high tidal zones. We observed a switch in the length frequency distribution and contribution of length classes to biomass between the small (<20 cm) and long (20–79.9 cm) length classes at the time of thallus maturity. This suggests there is a trade-offbetween sexual reproduction and vegetative regeneration.  相似文献

It has been a scientific consensus that Ulva prolifera green tide that break out annually between May and August in the recent decade off eastern coast of Yellow Sea. To investigate the ecological mechanism of the decline of U. prolifera green tide, we compared the physiological characteristics of U. prolifera samples collected in three stages of the green tide in Subei Shoal north Jiangsu, the initiation point, on May 10(early, the initiation), July 10(middle, the outbreak), and in Taipingjiao, Qingdao on August 10(late, the decline). Compared to the early samples, the middle, and late samples showed a lower chlorophyll content and photosynthetic e fficiency at a higher lipid peroxidation level. The middle and later samples had fewer chloroplasts in the cells of U. prolifera than those in the early samples. In addition, the cells of U. prolifera sampled in the late stage showed ruptured and deformed cell walls. Differences in physiological function were reflected in the growth rate. Both the middle and late U. prolifera samples presented negative growth rates. Correlation analysis results show that the rising temperature was mainly responsible for the local decline of U. prolifera green tide. The high light-intensity that could induce the photoinhibition was also an important factor for the decline. Therefore, U. prolifera population that remained in the Subei Shoal and those that northward drifted to Qingdao experienced the same decline processes: rising temperature and continuous high light conditions in the late phase of green tide reduced the photosynthetic capacity and destroyed the antioxidant system of the thallus, which lead to decrease of biomass. The only difference is that the temperature in the Subei Shoal rose earlier than that in Qingdao; thus, U. prolifera remaining in the Subei Shoal went disappeared first.  相似文献

Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis is a commercially exploited alga. Its filaceous thallus can be divided into three parts, holdfast, middle segment and tip. The growth and branch forming trend and agar content of these three parts were analyzed, respectively, in this study. The results showed that the tip had the highest growth rate and branched most, although it was the last part with branch forming ability. The holdfast formed branches earliest but slowly. Holdfast had the highest agar content. We also assessed the difference in protoplast formation and regeneration among three parts. The middle segment displayed the shortest enzymolysis time and the highest protoplast yield; whereas the tip had the strongest vitality of protoplasts formation. Juvenile plants were only obtained from the protoplasts generated from the tip. These results suggested that the differentiation and function of G. lemaneiformis was different.  相似文献
