Weathering and landslide occurrences in parts of Western Ghats,Kerala   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
The climatic condition of Western Ghats has influenced the process of weathering and landslides in this mountainous tract along the southwest coast of India. During the monsoon period, landslides are a common in the Western Ghats, and its intensity depends upon the thickness of the loose unconsolidated soil formed by the process of weathering. Debris landslides with a combination of saprock, saprolite and soil, indicate the role of weathering in landslide occurrences. This paper reports on how the weathering in the windward slope of Western Ghats influences the occurrence of landslides and the factors which accelerate the weathering process. Rock and soil samples were collected from the weathering profile of hornblende gniess and granite gneiss. The chemical analysis and the calculated Chemical Index of Alteration (CIA) indicate the significant weathering and its possible influence on landslide occurrences in the study area. Mainly, the CIA value of lateritic soil and forest loam indicated the extent of high chemical weathering in this region. Rainfall is the dominant parameter influencing the chemical weathering process. In addition, deforestation, land use practices and soil erosion are some of the other important factors accelerating the weathering process and landslide occurrences in the region. The locations of the previous landslides superimposed on geology and soil show that most of the landslide occurrences are associated with the highly weathered zone, particularly lateritic soil and the ‘severe’ (rock outcrop) erodability zone.  相似文献

An intrabasaltic red bole horizon is studied for its weathering characteristics with respect to the underlying and overlying basalts. The study indicates that all the three units have been considerably weathered; the red bole unit, however shows some distinctive characteristics. The red boles show a higher cation exchange capacity (CEC) and lower sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and organic carbon (OC) as compared to the weathered basalts. The lower values of Al2O3, TiO2 and Fe2O3(T) in red boles indicate their lesser weathering than the underlying and overlying basalts, which is further corroborated by the weathering intensity measured by the indices like chemical index of alteration (CIA) and statistical empirical index of chemical weathering (W). It is also evident that the red bole samples show more retention of original mafic and felsic components. While K2O exhibits an erratic behaviour, the MgO and CaO do not show much leaching in red boles. Lesser leaching and salinity in the red boles is indicated by the higher values of calcification and lower values of salinization. The SiO2–Al2O3–Fe2O3 plot indicates that red bole samples are close to the basalt field, while the weathered upper basalt is more kaolinized than the weathered lower basalt. These observations reveal that the post-formational weathering processes have least affected the original palaeoweathering characters of the red bole horizon and hence the intrabasaltic palaeosols (weathering horizons) can effectively be used to constrain the palaeoweathering and palaeoclimates during the continental flood basalt episodes in the geologic past.  相似文献

Many landslides occur every year during heavy rains at the Hai Van Pass and surrounding area in central Vietnam, where granitic rocks are distributed. As is common in granite areas, these landslides often occur as small-scale flow-type and slump-type landslides. However, several horseshoe-shaped loose slopes of widths and lengths of 500 to 800 m, which incorporate these landslides, are observed on slopes across the area. These topographies resemble those formed by past and present large-scale landslides. The presence of such a topography and the repeated occurrences of landslides within this topography are rare in granite areas, where shallow flow-type landslides are generally frequent. To understand the mechanism causing the landslides in the Hai Van region, and as a support for future risk assessment, the factors and processes leading to the formation of such a topography and their relationship with these landslides must be identified and assessed. This study investigated the history of past landslide movement in the Hai Van Pass and surrounding area through observations of drill cores and outcrops, and analysis of the direction of remanent magnetism in the granitic rocks. Mineral compositions, cracks, degrees of weathering, and topographic shapes of the granitic rocks and their relationship to the landslides occurring today were also investigated. The results of the study reveal no variation in the direction of remanent magnetism in the granitic rocks in the region that would indicate disturbance of the ground due to a past large-scale landslide. No evidence of such an event could also be found both in the drill cores and the rock outcrops. Further, results of the analysis of cracks and weathering pattern confirm that the topography of the region is affected by the weathering of the granitic rocks that progresses in concentric circles of various sizes. Thus, it can be concluded that these topographies were not formed by a singular large-scale landslide of the past, but rather by a composite of relatively shallow landslides occurring on the slope of dome structures unique to granite areas, which are formed by differential weathering and denudation regulated by cracks.  相似文献

地处湘西山区的湘黔、焦柳铁路沿线分布众多的红层边坡。因其工程地质条件的特殊性,边坡灾害时有发生,严重影响了列车的安全运行。文章首先对这一地区红层的工程地质特性进行研究,在此基础上,对边坡破坏形式、规律、机理等进行深入探讨。研究表明:分布在湘西铁路沿线的红层具有岩性多变、软硬互层、浸水崩解、遇水软化、结构面众多及泥化软弱夹层发育等工程特性;红层边坡变形破坏的主要形式有风化剥落、坡面变形、崩塌落石和顺层滑坡等。文章通过湘西湘黔、焦柳铁路沿线12处较大红层路堑滑坡的调查及综合分析,得出这一地区红层路堑滑坡形成的基本规律并根据滑坡体物质及滑动面特征对其进行了分类。分析了该地区红层滑坡的形成机理并提出红层边坡地质灾害的防治措施。  相似文献

我国中新生代红层分布总面积约826 389km2,是工程建设中不可避免的岩土体。南方地区红层约占红层总面积的60%,以西南、中南地区红层分布较广,多为裸露型红层,受降雨等因素影响滑坡、风化等问题突出;北方地区红层约占40%,以甘肃以及蒙宁晋陕交界红层分布相对较多,多为埋藏型红层,工程地质问题具有隐蔽性。红层分布受控于分布区的区域断裂带,岩体结构破碎,水文网络发育,渗流、软化等问题突出。由于砂岩、泥岩、页岩、蒸发岩、杂色岩等多种软硬岩层互层结构和工程活动等因素的影响,沿着软弱结构面易发生滑坡、差异风化等工程地质问题。由于时代较新,岩土体的胶结性差,物理力学性能相对较差,岩石多属于软岩类别。稳定性差,易崩解软化。蒸发岩和红层岩土体中可溶成份在水作用下,容易发生岩溶、腐蚀、渗流等物理化学问题。建议在工程建设中将红层作为特殊岩体对待。  相似文献

The Tsaoling landslide, one of the largest landslide areas in Taiwan, has been affected by catastrophic events triggered by rain or earthquakes six times since 1862. These landslides, including that caused by the 1999 earthquake, have essentially not been reactivated old slides, but were sequential new ones that developed upslope, retrogressively. The landslide area is underlain by Pliocene sandstone and shale to form a dip slope with a bedding plane, dipping uniformly at 14°. The slip surface of the 1999 landslide was smooth and planar, parallel to the bedding plane with a slightly stepped profile; it formed within thinly alternated beds of fine sandstone and shale with ripple lamination or in a shale bed. The shale is weathered by slaking and probably by sulfuric acid, which is inferred to be one of the major causes of the intermittent retrogressive development of the landslides. The weathering was likely accelerated by the removal of overlying beds during earlier landslides in 1941 and 1942. The top margin of the 1999 landslide, in plan view, coincided with a V-shaped scarplet, which can be clearly recognized on aerial photographs taken before the landslide. This geomorphological feature indicates that this landslide had already moved slightly before its 1999 occurrence, providing precursory evidences.  相似文献

四合屯-大康堡地区所出露的义县组火山-沉积岩可分为上、中、下3个层位。下部层位是以玄武质、玄武安山岩质以及安山质火山岩类为主的基性、中基性火山-沉积岩;中部是以流纹质及英安质火山岩为主的中酸性火山-沉积岩;而义县组的上部层位是以玄武岩、玄武玢岩为代表的基性火山岩。薄层状的沉凝灰岩、凝灰质粉砂岩及钙质页岩等作为火山活动间歇期的产物,常不同程度地发育于义县组火山溶岩或集块岩的底部。野外工作发现:在义县组下部层位的沉凝灰岩层中发育有以鹦嘴龙为主的古脊椎动物类化石;四合屯-大康堡一带富含有热河生物群化石的沉积层属义县组火山-沉积岩系的中部层位。稀土元素分析表明,在相同层位的火山-沉积岩岩,沉凝灰岩,凝灰质粉砂岩和钙质页岩及其与火山熔岩存在密切的相关性;而不同层位间则存在一定的差异性。稀土元素配分特征不反映出,不同的义县组火山-沉积岩内、凝灰质粉砂岩和钙质页岩及其与火山溶岩存在密切的相关性;而不同层位间则存在一定的差异性。稀土元素分特征还反映出,不同的义县组火山-沉积岩层位之间具有相似的物源关系。  相似文献

根据福建省南安市地质灾害调查和区划工作成果,总结该区地质灾害类型主要有滑坡、崩塌和泥石流,尤以滑坡和崩塌的危害性最大。全市共发现地质灾害140处,其中滑坡72处(含土质滑坡67处),崩塌65处(土质崩塌55处),泥石流3处。南安市地质灾害具有分布广、规模小、突发性强、危害性大等特点,其控制因素:包括地形地貌、岩土体性质、降雨和人类工程活动等。南安市属于低山丘陵地貌,其中低山山地占全市面积的50%,丘陵、台地占25%;花岗岩、凝灰岩分布面积广,其残积层厚度较大,约5~17m,岩性为残积砾(砂)质粘性土,是致灾的主要土体。98%的地质灾害与降雨有直接的关系,当过程雨量达到100mm时,滑坡开始产生;过程雨量大于200mm时,滑坡普遍发生。直接与人类工程活动有关的地质灾害共134处,占地质灾害总数的95%,坡脚开挖是引发地质灾害的主要因素,占调查总数的84.4%。论文还提出了地质灾害防治的相应对策。  相似文献

Continuous 5-day (August 4–9, 2019) torrential rainfall in the monsoon season triggered more than 90 landslides on northwest-southeast extended mountain range of Mon State, Myanmar. In this study, remote sensing images, DEM, and limited fieldworks were used to create the landslide inventory. The topography features of these landslides are analyzed via ArcGIS. The largest one occurred on 9 August 2019 and caused 75 deaths and 27 buildings were damaged. This landslide occurred on gentle topography (slope angle, 23°) with long run-out, in which the angle of reach was relatively low (10°). The volume was 111,878 m3 was mainly composed of weathered granite and red soil and the sliding depth was approximately 7.5 m. Topographic characteristics including the relative slope height, angle of reach, and slope angle of source area of 35 landslides with areas?>?4000 m2 were analyzed. The spatial distribution characteristics and topographic features of the 35 landslides below are distinguished: (1) the concentration of most of landslides on southwest-facing slopes showing the heterogeneous spatial distribution of landslide; (2) an uncommon landslide distribution in which more than half of landslide originates from upper slope; (3) the range of the angle of the source area (17°–38°) compatible with the internal friction angle of soils in tropical regions (17°–33°); and (4) the tangent of the angle of reach is generally smaller than 0.5 (angle of reach?<?27°) shows a relative high mobility and the relation between landslide mobility and the slope angle of the landslide source area is similar to the one of earthquake-triggered landslides, even though the triggering mechanism, landslide type, and landslide volume are dramatically different.

三峡库区涉水滑坡主要影响因素是水位和降雨量,也是库区滑坡体失稳的主要影响因素和诱发因素。库区每年重复着水位升降不利于滑坡的稳定,而降雨特别是大强度的降雨也诱发产生滑坡。当水位波动遇到降雨,出现工况叠加,滑坡将加剧。因此,有必要对影响滑坡变形的主导因素进行了解分析。2016年6月三峡库区全面展开了自动化监测,使得数据统计方便可靠。本文采用滑坡变形速率、降雨量、库水位变化、最大水位变化速率、淹没程度,运用灰色关联度分析法对涉水滑坡进行了计算分析。水位下降阶段,文中土质滑坡变形受库水位影响最大。水位上升阶段,该土质滑坡上部变形受降雨影响最大,下部受水位影响最大。文中岩质滑坡总是受库水位影响最大。  相似文献

黄土丘陵地区地质环境脆弱,每到雨季极易诱发浅层黄土滑坡,对居民的生命和财产安全构成威胁也阻碍着当地经济的发展。对浅层滑坡进行稳定性评价,不仅有助于认识浅层滑坡的发生发展过程,而且对防灾减灾和地区规划建设具有十分重要的指导意义。本研究选择SINMAP模型作为评价浅层黄土滑坡的重要工具,评价了陕西省延安市志丹县黄土丘陵区浅层滑坡的稳定性,评价结果表明:1)研究区整体稳定性程度较高,在降雨量为8.6 mm、15 mm、25 mm、50 mm和100 mm时不稳定区域(包括极不稳定、不稳定和潜在不稳定)面积分别占研究区总面积的9.12%、18.93%、23.17%、30.94%和38.67%,不稳定区域的面积不超过整个研究区面积的一半,极不稳定区域的滑坡密度最大,其次为不稳定区域和潜在不稳定区域;2)随着降雨量的增大,潜在不稳定和不稳定区域的面积会逐渐扩大,极不稳定区始终位于坡度大且水流侵蚀强烈的地方,变化幅度小;3)浅层滑坡的稳定性很大程度上依赖于当地的地形条件:坡度分布为20°~51°,高程分布范围为1302~1606 m,在坡向上阴坡的发生数量多于阳坡,西向和西北向浅层滑坡最为发育;4)流域内的滑坡多属降雨诱发的山体滑坡,确定性模型SINMAP为预测这一类滑坡提供了强大的工具,不仅评估了现有的已发生的滑坡的稳定性,也预测了未来在不同降雨条件下可能发生滑坡的地区。分析结果可为预防和减轻滑坡灾害带来的损失,合理的城市规划和道路选址等提供参考。  相似文献

The key to advancing the predictability of rainfall-triggered landslides is to use physically based slope-stability models that simulate the transient dynamical response of the subsurface moisture to spatiotemporal variability of rainfall in complex terrains. TRIGRS (transient rainfall infiltration and grid-based regional slope-stability analysis) is a USGS landslide prediction model, coded in Fortran, that accounts for the influences of hydrology, topography, and soil physics on slope stability. In this study, we quantitatively evaluate the spatiotemporal predictability of a Matlab version of TRIGRS (MaTRIGRS) in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Macon County, North Carolina where Hurricanes Ivan triggered widespread landslides in the 2004 hurricane season. High resolution digital elevation model (DEM) data (6-m LiDAR), USGS STATSGO soil database, and NOAA/NWS combined radar and gauge precipitation are used as inputs to the model. A local landslide inventory database from North Carolina Geological Survey is used to evaluate the MaTRIGRS’ predictive skill for the landslide locations and timing, identifying predictions within a 120-m radius of observed landslides over the 30-h period of Hurricane Ivan’s passage in September 2004. Results show that within a radius of 24 m from the landslide location about 67% of the landslide, observations could be successfully predicted but with a high false alarm ratio (90%). If the radius of observation is extended to 120 m, 98% of the landslides are detected with an 18% false alarm ratio. This study shows that MaTRIGRS demonstrates acceptable spatiotemporal predictive skill for landslide occurrences within a 120-m radius in space and a hurricane-event-duration (h) in time, offering the potential to serve as a landslide warning system in areas where accurate rainfall forecasts and detailed field data are available. The validation can be further improved with additional landslide information including the exact time of failure for each landslide and the landslide’s extent and run out length.  相似文献

广西花岗岩分布区的岩土体结构松散,分布有大量较大厚度的风化坡残积土,受侵蚀、剥蚀、切割作用强烈,局部的水土流失严重,而且该区降雨量丰富,经常会有滑坡地质灾害发生。在统计分析的基础上选取坡度、高程、地质构造、植被、降雨、人类工程活动、滑坡灾害体积密度作为易发性评价指标,基于ArcGIS软件并运用信息量模型对广西花岗岩分布区进行滑坡易发性区划、完成滑坡易发性评价,并与滑坡灾害点和隐患点进行了验证。广西花岗岩区滑坡易发性评价的结果与实际滑坡的分布较为吻合,为广西花岗岩分布区滑坡预警预报及防治工作奠定基础。  相似文献

白龙江流域坪定-化马断裂带滑坡特征及其形成演化   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
沿坪定-化马断裂带发育数个大型或巨型滑坡。这些断裂带滑坡特点明显,成因类似,各滑坡一般发育多个次级滑坡体,滑坡岩土体由次生黄土、断裂带强风化带、断裂破碎带组成,具双层或三层结构。滑坡总体顺断裂走向下滑,历史上曾多次活动。近年来变形监测资料表明,断裂带滑坡目前处于匀速蠕变阶段,表现为蠕滑→拉裂(塑流拉裂)→次级滑坡体启动下滑的特征。它是在断裂活动、地震、降雨、人类工程活动等内外动力耦合作用下形成的,坪定-化马断裂的长期活动为滑坡形成提供了前提条件,断裂带的岩土体性质是滑坡长期活动的物质基础,而降雨、地震、坡脚开挖等是滑坡体失稳下滑的主要诱发因素。因而,有必要进一步研究断裂带滑坡在内外动力耦合作用下的成灾机理,为滑坡灾害防治预警提供科学依据。  相似文献

巫溪县构造上位于南大巴山弧形褶皱带的核心部位,八面山弧形褶皱构造带的北缘,地理上位于三峡库区奉节—巫山段北部,区内以发育近平行的褶皱构造为主,岩层中构造节理裂隙发育。区内地形切割强烈、起伏大,表现为中高山峡谷地貌,年降雨量大,地质环境条件脆弱。研究区西溪河北岸多发育高位高危碎屑流型滑坡,具有隐蔽性强、危害性大等特点。论文在Lidar影像分析、野外详查、钻探等手段的基础上,详细分析了滑坡地质环境背景、滑坡的特点及运动堆积过程,认为风化层厚度大、高陡的地形地貌、特殊的构造条件、典型的斜坡结构是滑坡发育的主要因素,持续性的降雨是滑坡发育的直接诱发因素,斜坡上部二叠系炭质灰岩、灰岩的崩落是导致斜坡中下部原本就处于孔隙水饱和状态下的志留系粉砂岩碎屑失稳并转化为碎屑流的重要因素。针对这类高位高危碎屑流型滑坡,提出了高位崩滑—高速启动—碰撞解体—高速铲刮—抛射堆积的成灾模式,为三峡库区此类滑坡的防治提供技术依据。  相似文献

大型深层蠕滑型滑坡在青藏高原怒江、澜沧江、金沙江、岷江等地形地貌和地质构造复杂区极为发育,具有规模大、滑带深、渐进变形破坏显著等特点,按照滑坡空间结构主要有后缘洼地蠕滑型、顺层基岩蠕滑型和厚层松散堆积物蠕滑型等3种类型,往往表现为长期蠕滑-间歇性复活-整体滑动.通过梳理大型深层蠕滑型滑坡稳定性影响因素、滑带土工程地质力学性质、地下水渗流场特征与降雨诱发滑坡滞后性以及渐进变形破坏机制和动态稳定性等4个方面的研究进展,提出了3个关键科学问题与4个主要研究方向.建议加强深层滑带土在渗流场-应力场等多场耦合作用下的工程地质力学特性研究、加强剖析滑坡岩土体的非均质渗透特性及地下水分布特征分析,研究不同雨强和历时条件下降雨有效入渗机理,研究大型深层蠕滑型滑坡的降水入渗响应过程和降水诱发滑坡变形的滞后性,提出基于渐进变形破坏的滑坡动态稳定性评价方法,为地质灾害早期判识和综合防范提供理论依据.  相似文献

滑坡体水-岩(土)作用是一种复杂的物理化学综合作用,影响坡体的稳定性,但关于目前水-岩(土)相互作用对地质灾害发生方面的影响研究仍较为薄弱。以贵州省鸡场滑坡为研究对象,分析滑坡区岩土体矿物组成和化学成分特征,结合区域内基岩裂隙水、大气降水的成分变化,利用主成分分析方法,研究鸡场滑坡水-岩(土)作用过程,并分析水岩演化作用对滑坡稳定性的影响。结果表明:(1)滑体内玄武岩的风化过程是一种机械破碎-矿物蚀变耦合的水-岩相互作用,发生在“微观-细观-宏观”3种尺度上;(2)选取前3个因子Z1、Z2、Z3(分别占总方差的49.365%、27.135%、15.092%)分析地下水的化学特征,主因子Z1反映了玄武岩原生矿物的溶蚀作用对地下水化学成分的控制作用,主因子Z2反映了地下水的蒸发作用与SiO2溶解度随pH变化的矿物沉淀作用,主因子Z3反映了地下水与岩(土)体间存在离子交换作用且主参与离子为Mg2+和K+  相似文献

滑坡的发生有其特定内因及外因。厚黄土层的滑坡(移)主要由自然条件及人为因素决定。在采煤沉陷区域特别在山区,由于地表的下陷及移动变形更容易发生山坡土体的滑移。文章指出,地下采煤导致上坡方向的黄土层产生具有垂直裂缝的裂隙带。矿区由于人为活动影响,使其周边地表环境发生改变。分析山区地表滑移的力学机制及发生条件,可知黄土层与基岩面间若存在松散土层、千枚岩、泥岩等易于泥化的地质体,在采煤沉陷裂隙带及降水的影响下,一定范围内黄土层就会随湿重的增加而满足失稳条件并沿近乎平面的曲面滑移。文章分析窑街矿区滑坡事例,指出厚黄土层的滑坡灾害除了受地形地貌、地质环境、气候等自然条件控制外,还受人类活动与社会经济条件的影响。即由采煤沉陷及特殊自然地质环境综合造成的厚黄土层滑坡是一种特殊的人为地质灾害。  相似文献

研究目的:巴南广高速公路位于地形地貌平缓、基岩产状近水平、构造相对简单的川东红层地区,线路修建时滑坡病害频发,其中工程造价超过10万元的滑坡达192处,工程治理费用约4亿元,严重影响了高速公路的正常建设。基于此,笔者依据咨询的这192处滑坡建立样本数据库,对滑坡高发的成因进行分析,以期能为今后类似红层区的高速公路的安全、经济修建提供借鉴。研究结论:(1)以富水粉质粘土为主的堆积体滑坡是项目区滑坡主要类型,且以小-中型滑坡为主,滑坡密度大,治理费用高,这是项目区滑坡的主要特征。(2)红层区特殊的地质环境是滑坡高发的基础,主要体现在地表广泛分布的可塑-软塑状粉质粘土和下伏的富水砂泥岩地层对工程扰动敏感,易使坡体在开挖卸荷和填方加载后,利用土岩交界面和最大剪应力形成的同生滑面产生堆积层滑坡、在近水平产状的砂泥岩中形成平推式、错落式和破碎岩质滑坡。(3)欠合理的设计对滑坡高发具有控制作用,主要体现在地质选线贯彻较差,路基填挖规模偏大而使坡体防护工程针对性差,造成大量工程滑坡的出现,且处治设计周期过长,使滑坡范围不断扩大。(4)施工方责任心欠缺,不合理的工程开挖或填方是滑坡高发的重要因素。  相似文献

秦巴地区是中国地质灾害的高发区和重灾区之一,其地质灾害的分布具有地域上的分异性:渭河盆地黄土滑坡较多;秦巴山区以小型浅层堆积层滑坡为主;汉江河谷分布一些膨胀土滑坡和岩质滑坡;大巴山以南中厚层岩质滑坡较多.秦巴地区的地质灾害一般沿大的断裂带、交通线、大的河流分布,形成纵横东西南北的地质灾害链.秦巴地区地质灾害的发生受降雨、地形地貌、岩性与结构面、人类工程活动等因素的影响,是内动力地质作用和外动力地质作用相互作用、转化的结果,也是大气圈、水圈、生物圈和岩石圈耦合的反映.  相似文献
