For the derivation of distances and of the density distribution of the RR Lyrae stars in the Sonneberg fields near the north galactic pole (comprising 355 □°) we determined their photographic B-brightnesses. The density distribution of the RR Lyrae stars in each of the fields is almost identical with the density distribution given by KINMAN , WIRTANEN , and JANES (1966). Furthermore we derived the period-amplitude relations for RR Lyrae stars with 11mg·<mpg < 16m·7, which in the extended fields 92/93 Leo and 1 Boo turned out to be similar to those in the fields of KINMAN et al. near the pole. In the extended field 26 Com we found a slightly different period-amplitude relation pointing perhaps to a less homogeneous population.  相似文献

A third list of point sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog (PSC), optically identified with late-type stars, is given. The list contains data on 34 objects. The identification was based on the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey (FBS). blue and red maps of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey, and infrared fluxes at wavelengths of 12, 25, 60, and 100 mm in the regions of +61° ≤ δ ≤ +65°, 06h45m ≤ α ≤ 17h28m and +69° ≤ δ ≤ +73°, 03h50m ≤ α ≤ 18h10m. Of 34 objects given in the IRAS PSC as unidentified sources of infrared radiation, 11 are associated with known stars in existing catalogs, 6 are objects from the FBS survey of late-type stars, and 17 sources remained unknown in the optical range, 3 of them also being sources in the IRAS Serendipitous Survey Catalog (SSC). The optical coordinates, their departures from the 1R coordinates, the V magnitudes, the color indices CI, and the preliminary spectral subtypes were determined. The objects have optical magnitudes in the range of 7h.6-13m.6. Finder charts from the DSS are given for 23 objects. Part five of optically identified point sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog (PSC) contains data on 19 late-type stars. The identifications were based on the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey (FBS), blue and red maps of the Palomar survey (POSS), and infrared fluxes at 12, 25, 60, and 100 mm in the region of +61° ≤ δ ≤ +65° and 05 h 30 m ≤ α ≤ 18 h 35 m with an area of 357 sq. deg. Of the 76 objects given in the IRAS PSC as unidentified sources of infrared radiation, 51 are associated with known stars in existing catalogs, 6 are objects from the FBS of late-type stars, and 19 sources remained unknown in the optical range. For the identified stars we determined the optical coordinates, their departures from the IR coordinates, the Vstellar magnitudes, the color indices CI,and the preliminary spectral subtypes. The objects have optical magnitudes in the range of 8 m −16 m .Gas-dust shells are assumed to exist around four of the sources. Finder charts from the DSS are given for 19 of the objects. We are monitoring a 6° wide stripe along the southern Galactic disk simultaneously in the r and i bands, using a robotic 15‐cm twin telescope of the Universitätsternwarte Bochum near Cerro Armazones in Chile. Utilising the telescope's 2.7° field of view, the survey aims at observing a mosaic of 268 fields once per month and to monitor dedicated fields once per night. The survey reaches a sensitivity from 10m down to 18m (AB system), with a completeness limit of r ∼ 15.5m and i ∼ 14.5m which – due to the instrumental pixel size of 2.″4 – refers to stars separated by >3″. This brightness range is ideally suited to examine the intermediately bright stellar population supposed to be saturated in deep variability surveys with large telescopes. To connect to deep surveys or to explore faint long term variables, coadded images of several nights reach a depth of ∼ 20m. The astrometric accuracy is better than 1″, as determined from the overlap of neighbouring fields. We describe the survey design, the data properties and our procedures to derive the light curves and to extract variable stars. We present a list of ∼2200 variable stars identified in 50 square degrees with 50‐80 observations between May and October 2011. For bright stars the variability amplitude A reaches down to A ∼ 0.05m, while at the faint end variations of A > 1m are detected. About 200 stars were known tobe variable, and their amplitudes and periods – as far as determinable from our six month monitoring – agree with literature values, demonstrating the performance of the Bochum Galactic Disk Survey (© 2012 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Using the available data for nearby stars we derive the velocity ellipsoid of dwarf O-B5.5 stars belonging to the Gould Belt (GB). The resulting vertex deviation for the whole sample is negative (l v ≈ −70°) and this value is modified to l v≈ 20° when the members of the Pleiades moving group are removed from the sample. This implies the existence of, at least, two different kinematic groups defining the GB system. We also model the evolution of a supershell in the solar neighborhood, and obtain a fit to the shape and kinematics of the gas in GB. Assuming that the expanding shell is also forming stars, we obtain the corresponding velocity fields for the shell and its newly formed stars. The average vertex deviation value resulting from these models for the new stars is l v≈ 20°, and is consistent with the observed value when the Pleiades moving group members are excluded from the GB. The low-dispersion spectra of the First Byurakan Survey and the red and blue images of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey have been used to identify optically 100 infrared sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog. The work was carried out over the region 3h 50m ≤ α ≤ 7h 40m and +69° ≤ δ −73° with an area of 75 square degrees. The optical coordinates, their deviations from the infrared coordinates, V magnitudes, color indices, preliminary classes for all the objects, and a number of remarks on interesting objects are presented. Three objects were found to be quasars, 36 are galaxies (including Seyferts and an interacting pair), 5 are faint planetary nebulae, 9 are carbon stars, and 47 are stars of late M subclasses. The identifications were based on the Digital Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey, blue and red maps of the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey, and infrared fluxes at the wavelengths 12, 25, 60, and 100 μm in the region of +65° ≤ δ ≤ +69° and 05h10m ≤ α ≤ 18h10m. Of the 41 objects, which are given in the IRAS PSC as unidentified sources of infrared emission, 9 are associated with known stars in existing catalogs while 32 sources remained unidentified in the optical range, one of which is also a source in the deep IRAS survey (IRAS Serendipitous Source Catalog). The optical coordinates, their departures from the IR coordinates, the V stellar magnitudes, the color indices CI, and the preliminary spectral subtypes have been determined. The complex lightcurves make (51) Nemausa a good case for the study of general methods for pole determination. From six lightcurves the pole is determined to 20h24m; +53° (1950); the rotation is retrograde with period 7h.782936 ± 0h.000005. Presence of nongeometric scattering is proved by a significant 0.008 mag amplitude. Formulae and photometric elements are given for predictions of the shapes of lightcurves in future oppositions. The precision of the Fourier coefficients may be reduced below the present ±0.003 mag level by avoiding the systematic errors in the observations due to phase factor variations and discontinuities when changing comparison stars.  相似文献

A catalogue of photoelectric stellar magnitudes and colours in the UBVR Johnson system in 47 sky areas with galaxies near the Main Galactic Meridian is presented. The catalogue includes 1141 stars within the V magnitude interval 4m.5–15m.5. The rms errors are ±0.014, ±0.026, ±0.012, ±0.016 mag for stellar magnitudes V and colours (U – B),(B – V),(V – R), respectively. The catalogue contains accurate equatorial coordinates (α, δ)1950.0, too.  相似文献

Radio stars are identified optically with bright stars located in the direction of the cluster A3487 (RA(J) = 11h31m58s, DEC(J) = −31°11’34".8) with an accuracy determined by the refraction of radio waves in the interstellar medium in this direction of the sky. Within an area of 1 sq. degree, 60% of the strong radio sources with P > 0.004 Jy are identified with stars brighter than 10 m.  相似文献

The peculiar galaxy NGC 4650 A (α=12h 42m. 1; = δ—40° 26′; 1950·0) has been studied by means of direct and spectral observations with the ESO 3·6-m telescope. It is interpreted as a prolate, elliptical galaxy surrounded by a warped ring of H II regions, dust and stars. The distance is 47 Mpc (H 0=55 km s−1 Mpc−1). The ring is seen nearly edge-on (inclination 85°) and it rotates. It has a diameter of about 21 kpc and is bluer than the elliptical galaxy for which the (M/L v) ratio is ∼12 in solar units. The observed configuration may be the result of interaction with the nearby galaxy, NGC 4650.  相似文献

The distribution of pairwise distances f(l) for different dependences r(z) of the metric distance is used to reveal inhomogeneities in the spatial distribution of 201 long (T 90>2s) gamma-ray bursts with measured redshifts z. For a fractal set with dimensionality D, this function behaves asymptotically as f(l) ∼ l D−1 for small l. Signs of fractal behavior with dimensionality D = 2.2–2.5 show up in all the models considered for the spatial distribution of the gamma-ray bursts. Several spatially distinct groups of gamma-ray bursts are identified. The group with equatorial coordinates ranging from 23h56m to 0h49m and δ from +19° to +23° with redshifts of 0.81–0.94 is examined separately.  相似文献

The problem of lithium in chemically peculiar Ap-CP stars has been the subject of debate for many years. The main reason for this is a lack of spectral observations of Ap stars in the neighborhood of the lithium resonance doublet Li I 6708 Å. An international cooperation project on “Lithium in cool CP stars with magnetic fields” was started in 1996. Systematic observations of CP stars in spectral regions of the 6708 Å and 6103 Å lines at the ZTSh (CrAO), CAT (ESO), Feros (ESO), and the 74″ telescope of the Mount Stromlo Observatory (Australia) have been used to analyze spectra of several CP stars studied by the way the 6708 Å lithium line varies with the stars’ rotational phase. Monitoring of the spectra of the oscillating CP stars (group I) HD 83368, HD 60435, and HD 3980, for which significant Doppler shifts of the Li I 6708 Å line are observed led to the discovery of “lithium spots” on the surface of these stars whose positions are related to the magnetic field structure. Models of the surfaces of these stars with the special program “ROTATE” based on the profiles of the Li I 6708 Å line are used to estimate the size of the spots, their positions on the stars’ surface, and the lithium abundances in these spots. A detailed analysis and modelling of the spectra of slowly rotating oscillating CP stars with strong, invariant lithium 6708 Å emission, including blending with lines of the rare earth elements, reveals an enhanced lithium abundance, with the abundance determined from the lithium 6103 Å line being higher than that determined from the 6708 Å line for all the stars. This may indicate vertical stratification of lithium in the atmospheres of CP stars with an anomalous isotopic composition (6Li/7Li = 0.2–0.5). HD 101065, an ultraslow rotator (vsini ≈ 1.5) visible from the poles and with powerful oscillations which cause pulsating line broadening in its spectrum, is unique among these stars. The amount of lithium in the atmosphere of HD 101065 logN(Li) = 3.1 on a scale of logN(H) = 12.0 and the isotope ratio 6Li/7Li ≈ 0.3. The high estimates of 6Li/7Li may be explained by the production of lithium in spallation reactions and the preservation of surface 6Li and 7Li by strong magnetic fields in the upper layers of the atmosphere near the magnetic poles. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 50, No. 3, pp. 463–492 (August 2007).  相似文献

The identifications were based on the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey, blue and red maps from the Palomar Sky Survey, and infrared fluxes at 12, 25, 60, and 100 μm in the region of +61° ≤ δ ≤ + 65° and 11h15m ≤ α ≤ 18h35m with an area of 200 sq. deg. Of the 119 sources in this region, 6 could not be identified owing to the absence of optical counterparts with the given coordinates. For the identified objects we determined their optical coordinates, their departures from the IR coordinates, and their stellar V magnitudes, color indices (CI), and preliminary types. The objects have optical magnitudes in the range of 8n–21m. Of the 113 objects, 31 turned out to be stars of spectral types K and M, 1 is a planetary nebula, 2 are candidates to be quasi- stellar objects, and 79 are galaxies. A list of the 48 nonstellar objects is given. The identified galaxies include Seyfert candidates, interacting pairs, galaxies with companions, superassociations, etc. The galaxies are in groups in many cases, and the IR emission may be due to heating of intergalactic matter within a group. A Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL TMA was used to scan 102 plates of 60° declination zone of the northern sky. The images were obtained within the scope of the FON project using the double wide-angle astrograph of the Main Astronomical Observatory (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine). The procedure is described of processing these scans and compilation of the catalog of equatorial coordinates and brightness. Mean square errors of positions and B-magnitudes of 1 108 603 stars of the output catalog (in the range from 56 to 64° in declination and from 0 to 24 h in right ascension) largely depend on the position on the plate, multiplicity of overlapping, and stellar magnitude. The standard deviations are 0.10–0.32″ for coordinates and 0.04–16 m for stellar magnitudes. The average values of mean square deviations of data of the obtained catalog from data of PPMX and UCAC catalogs are 0.23″ and 0.18 m .  相似文献

CMC15 is the last of the series “Carlsberg Meridian Catalogue, La Palma” and comprises all the observations made between March 1999 and March 2011 with the Carlsberg Automatic Meridian Circle in El Roque de los Muchachos Observatory on the island of La Palma (Spain). The catalogues CMC12, CMC13, and CMC14 are superseded by this one. It contains more than 122 million observations of right ascension, declination, and magnitude of stars in the magnitude range of 9m < r′ < 17m and declination range of –40° < δ < +50°. The catalogue internal errors in astrometry are below 30 mas in both coordinates for stars brighter than r′ = 13, reaching 60 mas for r′ = 16. The second portion of optically identified point sources from the IRAS Point Source Catalog contains 104 objects. The identifications were made on the basis of the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS), the First Byurakan Survey (FBS), blue and red maps of the Palomar Survey (POSS), and infrared fluxes at wavelengths of 12, 25, 60, and 100 fim in the region of +61 ° ≤ δ ≤ +65°and 50h30m ≤ α ≤ 11h15m with an area of 157 sq. deg. Of the 114 sources in this region, 10 could not be identified because of the absence of the corresponding optical counterparts with the given coordinates. For the identified objects we determined their optical coordinates, their departure from the IR coordinates, the stellar V magnitudes, the color indices CI, and the preliminary types. The objects have optical magnitudes in the range of 8n–21m. Of the 104 objects, 46 turned out to be stars of spectral types K and M, 1 is a planetary nebula, 3 are QSO candidates, and 54 are galaxies. In the present work we give a list of the 58 nonstellar objects. The identified galaxies include Seyfert candidates, interacting pairs, galaxies with companions and superassociations, etc. Finder charts for these objects from the DSS are given. Hot cluster horizontal branch (HB) stars and field subdwarf B (sdB) stars are core helium burning stars that exhibit abundance anomalies that are believed to be due to atomic diffusion. Diffusion can be effective in these stars because they are slowly rotating. In particular, the slow rotation of the hot HB stars (Teff > 11000 K), which show abundance anomalies, contrasts with the fast rotation of the cool HB stars, where the observed abundances are consistent with those of red giants belonging to the same cluster. The reason why sdB stars and hot HB stars are rotating slowly is unknown. In order to assess the possible role of magnetic fields on abundances and rotation, we investigated the occurrence of such fields in sdB stars with Teff < 30 000 K, whose temperatures overlap with those of the hot HB stars. We conclude that large‐scale organised magnetic fields of kG order are not generally present in these stars but at the achieved accuracy, the possibility that they have fields of a few hundred Gauss remains open. The open cluster An King 13 (α(1950) = 00h07m5 δ (1950) = +60°56') was measured in the UBV-system. An King 13 contained 80 stars up to the apparent magnitude mv = 16.4 mag. The distance of the cluster is 1730 pc. The diameter of An King 13 is 7 pc. The luminocity function was determinated.  相似文献
