For successful prestack depth migration an accurate velocity model is needed. One method for model updating is based on image gather analysis. In an image gather all reflectors line up horizontally if the correct velocities are used for the depth migration. This is also true for dipping reflectors, as all traces of an image gather belong to the same surface coordinate. The images of the reflector in an image gather curve upwards if the velocity used for the migration is too low, or downwards if the velocity is too high. This deviation can be used for model updating. Curves which depend on depth, offset and a parameter which relates the estimated to the true model are fitted to the image. By calculating the coherence along the deviation curves, this parameter can be estimated and hence an update can be calculated. Formulae are derived for the deviation curves and the update of the velocity depth model for a multilayered model for both shot and common-offset migrated data, with and without gradients. The method is tested on synthetic data with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Earthquake-induced slope stability is evaluated by the force-equilibrium method in engineering practice. This method provides a safety factor against initiating failure or displacement according to the Newmark model along a fixed slip surface but it cannot evaluate failure deformations after failure occurs. An energy approach is proposed as an alternative means for evaluating slope failures and subsequent flow deformations. The driving energy for slope displacement is considered to be the earthquake energy and the gravitational potential energy. As a first step in the research, an energy balance is formulated for the model of a rigid block resting on an inclined plane. Then, an innovative model test is developed, in which the energy balance in a sliding slope is measured on a shake table. The earthquake energy used for the slope failure can be successfully quantified in the test and its contribution to displacement is discussed in the light of the energy balance established for the block model.  相似文献

When a slug test is conducted in a highly permeable aquifer, a shallow pressure transducer in the well casing produces an oscillatory pressure head that is representative of the water level fluctuation, whereas a deep pressure transducer in the well casing yields an oscillatory pressure head that is different from the water level change. Although the solutions for shallow and deep pressure head are different, it is found that the ratios of the subsequent extremity displacements are in an identical relationship (an extremity can be a maximum or a minimum in the oscillatory pressure head). Based on this relationship, an analytical data analysis method for the determination of the hydraulic conductivity is developed for both shallow and deep pressure transducer data. This analytical method is applied to the pressure head measured at different depths in the well casing of a well partially penetrating an unconfined coarse sand aquifer. Satisfactory results are obtained, validating the applicability of this analytical method for pressure transducer data at any depth in a well casing. A methodology for the optimal design of supplemental viscous dampers for regular as well as irregular yielding shear‐frames is presented. It addresses the problem of minimizing the added damping subject to a constraint on an energy‐based global damage index (GDI) for an ensemble of realistic ground motion records. The applicability of the methodology for irregular structures is achieved by choosing an appropriate GDI. For a particular choice of the parameters comprising the GDI, a design for the elastic behavior of the frame or equal damage for all stories is achieved. The use of a gradient‐based optimization algorithm for the solution of the optimization problem is enabled by first deriving an expression for the gradient of the constraint. The optimization process is started for one ‘active’ ground motion record which is efficiently selected from the given ensemble. If the resulting optimal design fails to satisfy the constraints for other records from the original ensemble, additional ground motions (loading conditions) are added one by one to the ‘active’ set until the optimum is reached. Two examples for the optimal designs of supplemental dampers are given: a 2‐story shear frame with varying strength distribution and a 10‐story shear frame. The 2‐story shear frame is designed for one given ground motion whereas the 10‐story frame is designed for an ensemble of twenty ground motions. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A numerical method is given for calculating resistivity and induced polarization anomalies produced by a surface polarization model. Surface polarization is generated when a purely electronic conductor is located in an electrolyte environment. The system that develops on the boundary between the conductor and the electrolyte is described macroscopically by a net surface charge distribution and an electric double layer. An integral equation is derived for the potential by assuming that the electronic conductor forms an equipotential system and that the polarization impedance across the boundary is linear. The integral equation is solved by means of the method of subsections. As an application some numerical modeling results are presented. The surface impedance values used in calculations are based on laboratory measurements that are briefly described. Implications of the results for scale modeling are discussed.  相似文献

The paper is concerned with the propagation of the Love waves in an inhomogeneous transversely isotropic fluid saturated porous layered half-space with linearly varying properties. The analysis is based on Biot's theory. Firstly, the dispersion equation in the complex form for the Love waves in an inhomogeneous porous layer is derived. Then the equation is solved by an iterative method. Detailed numerical calculation is presented for an inhomogeneous fluid saturated porous layer overlying a purely elastic half-space. The dispersion and attenuation of the Love waves are discussed. In addition, the upper and lower bounds of the Love wave speed are explored.  相似文献

目前,砂土液化问题仍是岩土工程界重要的研究方向.鉴于砂土液化评价的复杂性及其影响因素的不确定性和模糊性,将熵值理论与模糊集和贴近度相结合,建立了基于熵权与专家打分法所获权重的组合权重的模糊物元模型,有效地避免了权重分配困难的问题.该模型以一种新的方法进行砂土液化势的评价,并且结合实例应用,通过与现场标贯试验对比,进一步验证了该模型的合理、简便和实用.  相似文献

This paper presents a theoretical investigation on the performance of multiple‐tuned liquid column dampers (MTLCD) for reducing torsional vibration of structures in comparison with single‐tuned liquid column dampers (STLCD). The analytical model is first developed for torsional vibration of a structure with an MTLCD under either harmonic excitation or white noise excitation. The experimental results are then used to verify the analytical model for coupled MTLCD‐structure systems under harmonic excitation. The performance of an MTLCD and its beneficial parameters for achieving the maximum torsional response reduction to white noise excitation are finally investigated through an extensive parametric study in terms of the distance from the centre line of the MTLCD to the rotational axis of the structure, the ratio of the horizontal length to the total length of liquid column, frequency bandwidth, head‐loss coefficient, the number of TLCD units in an MTLCD, frequency‐turning ratio and the spectral level of excitation moment. The results show that there is an optimal head‐loss coefficient and an optimal frequency bandwidth for an MTLCD to achieve the maximum torsional response reduction. It is also demonstrated that the sensitivity of an optimized MTLCD to the frequency‐tuning ratio is less than that of an optimized STLCD, and it can be further improved by increasing the bandwidth but at the cost of less torsional vibration reduction. 提高地震资料分辨率的一个有效途径就是衰减补偿,通过对地震波的衰减和频散效应进行校正,提高地震资料的分辨率。常规衰减补偿方法都是基于波场延拓的反Q滤波方法。本文利用Futterman衰减模型,导出了一种衰减介质中合成地震记录的计算方法,在此基础上将衰减补偿问题归结为一个Fredholm积分方程反问题,利用反演方法来实现衰减补偿。针对衰减补偿问题的不稳定性,利用Tikhonov正则化方法提高反演过程的稳定性,数值模拟资料和实际资料处理结果验证了方法的有效性。  相似文献

A predictive-adaptive (PA) control algorithm has been developed for a structure under a seismic excitation. This algorithm analyses information of an observed seismic excitation, estimates future structural responses and determines the control force for the structure, based on the linear quadratic regulator. That is, at a given moment tk: (1) seismic excitation information is converted to an autoregressive model, which forms the state equation for the excitation; (2) the identification model is combined with the structural model to build a state equation in an augmented space; (3) the weighted quadratic norm of the state vector and the future control force is formed as a cost function for estimating future responses; (4) the Ricatti equation is solved to find the optimum value of the cost function; and (5) the optimum gain matrix is obtained, and the control force is determined. The PA algorithm is not restricted to one type of control system, but can be applied to both an active driver system and an active tendon system. Its effectiveness is confirmed by numerical experiments for 1DOF and 3DOF structural models under sine and seismic excitations.  相似文献

Groundwater responses measured from multiple wells at different depths are essential for delineating the aquifer heterogeneity using hydraulic tomography (HT). In general, conducting HT requires many wells because traditional well monitoring is usually partially open at a specific depth interval or is fully penetrating. Accordingly, conducting an HT survey is typically costly and time-consuming. To tackle these issues, a new multi-level monitoring system (MLMS) for the HT survey was developed using the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) technique. This FBG MLMS could collect the depth-discrete groundwater observations from a fully penetrated 2-inch well. Three field campaigns were conducted to validate the capability of the FBG MLMS for HT surveys. The results show that the accuracy and stability of this MLMS are reliable and that FBG MLMS is beneficial for conducting an HT survey. Specifically, compared to the traditional monitoring well in an injection event, this FBG MLMS can concurrently cause an increase in the number of cross-hole tests several times and collect many more head observations than the standard methods, resulting in the observed flow fields efficiently reaching ergodic conditions and effectively improving the accuracy of the estimated hydraulic heterogeneity. Therefore, the FBG MLMS could be an alternative MLMS for efficiently and economically conducting an HT survey.  相似文献

A brief review of the existing methods of gravity reduction is given and a new method suitable for use on high speed digital computers is described. The method is based on the formula for the gravitational attraction of a frustum of a cone. The topographic contours are represented by polygons and the x and y coordinates of corners of the polygons constitute the input to the computer. The vertical component of the gravitational attraction is calculated by evaluating the cone formula for a number of vertical sections of the topography. Each vertical section is simplified by adopting a procedure of grouping and averaging for the distant points of the section. The effect of the earth's sphericity is taken into account by lowering the distant points of the sections by amounts determined by the curvature. The computations include the area close to the point at which the attraction is required and may be limited to an area defined by a circle centered at this point. The method is therefore compatible with the conventional zone chart methods. As an illustration of the method the gravitational attraction of Caryn Seamount in the Atlantic Ocean is computed. The total Bouguer correction and the Terrain correction are also computed for an area in northwestern South America and comparisons are made with hand computations by a zone chart method. As an example, for work at sea, the Bouguer corrections for an area near the Island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean are computed and the effects of sphericity and three-dimensionality are calculated. The gravitational attraction of two-dimensional bodies can be computed in a very similar manner. The attraction of the Puerto Rico Trench model is computed and the results are compared with other methods. The effects of sphericity and assumptions involved in extending the models to infinity are discussed.  相似文献
