The global VDM database, which was later supplemented by new determinations published in the world literature (a total of 3194 determinations), is used as the basis for addressing the VDM behavior in the Phanerozoic (0–542 Ma) and up to 580 Ma. The results revealed a positive linear trend to higher VDM values from 3.5 × l022 Am2 to 5.7 × l022 Am2. Against this background, fluctuations of the mean VDMs occur with a periodicity of about 40 Myr. In the Phanerozoic, prominent minima of the intensity are found in the time intervals of 510–520, 420–460, 340–370, 290–300, 240–270, 190–210, 165–140 Ma (chrons M17–M43), 130–120 Ma (chrons M2–M10), 100–110 Ma (chron C34), 75–85 Ma (chrons C33 and the beginning of chron C34), 70–60 Ma (chrons C31–C27), and 40–15 Ma (chrons C18–C5AD). The distribution of the VDMs appears to reflect the paleomagnetic field behavior and may be taken into account in a magnetization model for the reversely magnetized oceanic crust.  相似文献

The international bank of the virtual dipole moment data supplemented by the values from more recent publications is used as the basis for an analysis of the behavior of the virtual dipole moment values over the last 400 My. The results obtained revealed a positive linear trend from 4.1 × 1022 to 5.7 × 1022 A m2 during the last 400 My. Against the background of the linear increase, fluctuations with a periodicity of about 40 My were observed. In the Phanerozoic time, minimums within the intervals of 340–370, 290–300, 240–270, 190–210, 165-140 (chrons M17-M43), 130-120 (chrons M2-M10), 100–110 (chron 34), 75–85 (chron C33 and the beginning of chron C34), 70-60 (chrons C31-C27), and 40-15 (chrons C18-C5AD) My B.P. are found. The distribution of the virtual dipole moment is strictly related to the distribution of the ancient geomagnetic field and may be taken into consideration when modeling the magnetization of the inversive magnetic layer of the ocean.  相似文献

To estimate chlorophyll biomass from satellite-derived data, we established an empirical model for the estimation of the chlorophyll vertical profile as a function of surface chlorophyll for four separate regions of the Sanriku area, using algorithms based upon ship observations from 1986 to 1995. The modeled profiles compared well with observations during the Sanriku Field Campaign. Chlorophyll biomass in the Sanriku Area estimated by a combination of OCTS data and the model varied from 2.6×104 t in the Oyashio water to 8.2×103 t in the Kuroshio water.  相似文献

保山盆地湖相泥岩微量元素分布与古盐度定量评价   总被引:11,自引:1,他引:10  
于1994—1995年间,在云南保山盆地第三系地层采集泥岩样品,用中子活化分析方法和化学分析方法测定了泥岩的微量元素和氧化物含量;用X-射线衍射(XRD)分析和扫描电镜(SEM)分析方法测试了泥岩的粘土矿物成分和含量;应用科奇和亚当斯理论计算了湖盆古盐度。结果表明,该湖盆羊四段盐度最高达15.70,羊三段盐度为12.79,羊一段盐度为13.35,南林组盐度为13.26。随着沉积介质盐度的增大,微量元素硼(B)、相当硼含量逐渐增大,Sr/Ba,B/Ga比值也逐渐增加,它们之间呈线性正相关关系。  相似文献

A novel technique to determine complexing capacities for zinc is presented. The free zinc concentration is determined by cathodic stripping voltammetry preceded by adsorptive collection of complexes of zinc with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC). The reduction peak of zinc is depressed as a result of ligand competition by natural organic material in the sample. Sufficient time is allowed to reach equilibrium between this material and added APDC, and equilibrium is maintained during the measurement. Both electrochemically reversible and irreversible complexes can therefore be investigated. Values for KZnAPDC are calibrated against NTA and EDTA in seawater of several salinities; log KZnAPDC was found to be 4.40 at 36‰, 4.36 at 24‰, 4.43 at 12‰, and 4.87 at 2.3‰. The ligand concentration and conditional stability constant, KZnL, for complexing ligands in a sample from the Irish Sea were determined in the presence of 4 × 10?5 M APDC and with added zinc concentrations between 5 × 10?9 and 3 × 10?7 M. The data best fitted a complexation model containing two ligands with concentrations of 2.6 and 6.2 and 10?8 M, and with values for log KZnL of 8.4 and 7.5, respectively. These results are comparable to those obtained with other equilibrium techniques, but the values of the constants are greater than those from ASV measurements.  相似文献

报道了南海表层沉积物中铂族元素的丰度及其分布特征。52个表层沉积物中铂族元素(PGE)含量变化范围:钌为0.40×10-9~3.20×10-9,平均值为1.20×10-9;钯为0.01×10-9~13.30×10-9,平均值为4.31×10-9;铱为0.59×10-9~4.49×10-9,平均值为1.21×10-9;铂为1.27×10-9~16.21×10-9,平均值为5.26×10-9;铑为0.05×10-9~0.2×10-9,平均值为0.12×10-9;金为0.43×10-9~27.38×10-9,平均值为6.92×10-9。尽管PGE含量与沉积物平均粒径的关系不是很明显,但是整体上随平均粒径的增大,PGE含量出现逐渐减少的趋势,表现出一定的粒度控制规律。南海全海域表层沉积物铂、钯、钌、铑、铱和金的估算背景值分别为1.168×10-9±0.190×10-9,3.228×10-9±0.403×10-9,1.085×10-9±0.189×10-9,4.432×10-9±0.258×10-9,0.123×10-9±0.023×10-9和4.720×10-9±0.413×10-9,远高于我国大陆东部地壳的,而与深海沉积物的基本处于同一水平,表现出了海洋沉积物富集PGE的固有特征。尽管PGE在大陆架区有所富集,但明显富集区主要分布在吕宋岛以西至中央海盆区域,指示海底火山喷发作用释放的PGE对南海中西部深海盆区沉积物中的PGE可能有重要贡献。  相似文献

The KwaZulu-Natal Bight is a shallow indentation of the eastern seaboard of South Africa, characterised by a narrow (45 km wide) extension of the continental shelf, with a shelf break at about 100 m. It has a complex hydrography: the waters of the bight are derived from the fast-flowing, southward-trending Agulhas Current, which is fed mostly by the tropical and subtropical surface waters of the South-West Indian Ocean subgyre, which are generally oligotrophic in nature, notably depleted in reduced nitrogen and phosphate except at river mouths and during periodic upwelling of deeper nutrient-rich water. Despite this, the bight is believed to be relatively productive, and it is suggested that efficient nutrient recycling by prokaryotes may sustain primary productivity efficiently, even in the absence of new nutrient inputs. Here we have measured bacterial numbers, biomass and heterotrophic productivity during summer and winter in conjunction with phytoplankton standing stock and factors that influence it. Bacterial distribution closely matched phytoplankton distribution in surface waters, and was highest close to the coast. Bacterial standing stocks were similar to those of oligotrophic systems elsewhere (0.5–5.0 × 105 cells ml–1; 1 × 10–8 to 1.25 × 10–7 g C ml–1) and increased in association with the development of phytoplankton blooms offshore and with inputs of allochthonous material by rivers at the coast. Heterotrophic productivity in summer was lowest in the far south and north of the bight (0.5 × 10–10 g C ml–1 h–1) but higher close to the shore, over shallow banks, and in association with increased phytoplankton abundance over the midshelf (1.0–3.5 × 10–9 g C ml–1 h–1). There were marked seasonal differences with lower bacterial standing stocks (5 × 104 to 2 × 105 cells ml–1; 4–5 × 10–9 to 1–2 × 10–8 g C ml–1) and very low bacterial productivity (4 × 10–11 to 1 × 10–10 g C ml–1 h–1) in winter, probably resulting from lowered rates of primary productivity and dissolved organic matter release as well as reduced riverine allochthonous inputs during the winter drought.  相似文献

2008年8月中韩合作对南黄海生态系统进行了整体调查,调查站位共计37个。利用流式细胞仪测定了南黄海微微型浮游植物丰度,结合理化环境因子,分析了它们在夏季南黄海的分布特征。所测微微型真核浮游植物丰度平均值为1.9×103个/mL,最大值为2.4×104个/mL;聚球藻丰度平均值为5.3×104个/mL,最大值为5.1×105个/mL;从河口近岸到南黄海中部的宽阔海域,随着环境因子的变化,微微型浮游植物在各海区的分布明显不同,表现为河口近岸区域丰度大,离岸丰度小的特点;各站位丰度垂直分布主要趋势是上大下小,在跃层突出。根据分布趋势,聚球藻可分为两种垂直分布类型,微微型真核浮游植物分为三种。这些分布差异源于长江冲淡水和黄海冷水团的影响。  相似文献

Stoichiometry among bioactive trace metals in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
The distribution of Al, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb in seawater was investigated in the Chukchi and Beaufort Seas of the western Arctic Ocean in September 2000. The unfiltered and filtered seawater samples were used for determination of total dissolvable metal (TDM) and dissolved metal (DM), respectively. The concentration of labile particulate metal (LPM) was estimated with the difference between that of TDM and DM. The concentrations of TDAl, TDMn, TDFe, TDCo and TDPb varied substantially in the study area. The high concentrations occurred at stations near the Bering Strait, in the Mackenzie delta, and above reductive sediments on the shelf and slope. These elements were mostly dominated by labile particulate species, such as Fe?CMn oxides and species adsorbed on terrestrial clay. DCo was correlated with DMn over the study area (r?=?0.78, n?=?135), and the slope of the regression line was 27 times higher at a pelagic station than at a shelf station. TDNi, TDCu, TDZn and TDCd showed relatively small variations and were generally dominated by dissolved species. There was a moderate correlation between DCd and phosphate for all samples (r?=?0.79), whereas there were no significant correlation between the other DMs and nutrients. TDNi and TDCu showed a remarkable linearity for most stations except those near the Bering Strait (R 2?=?0.95, n?=?126). These results suggest that biogeochemical cycling including uptake by phytoplankton and remineralization from settling particles has only minor control over the distribution of trace metals in this area. Using the present data, the annual input of bioactive trace metals form the Bering Strait and the Mackenzie River was estimated. Also, the trace metal compositions of major water masses were evaluated. The dissolved elemental ratio was P:Al:Mn:Fe:Co:Ni:Cu:Zn:Cd?=?1:1.2?×?10?2:4.4?×?10?4:1.4?×?10?3:3.7?×?10?5:3.7?×?10?3:1.4?×?10?3:4.5?×?10?3:2.2?×?10?4 for Canada Basin deep water (CBDW). This ratio was significantly different from that for Pacific deep water and Bering Sea water, suggesting substantial modification of the trace metal compositions of seawater in the study area.  相似文献

On the relation of the number of extratropical cyclones to their sizes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Extratropical cyclones were identified on the basis of sea level pressure NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data for the Northern Hemisphere from 1948 to 2004. Cyclone positions were determined with a time interval of 6 h. Cyclone sizes were obtained with the use of a numerical scheme based on a rotation of the spherical coordinate system such that the pole of the new coordinate system coincided with the cyclone center. Cyclone sizes were determined at each step of the trajectory. The last closed isobar was assumed to be the outer boundary of the cyclone. The pressure deficit in the cyclone center was regarded as a characteristic of the intensity of a synoptic formation. The interrelation between the number of cyclones and their sizes was estimated for all extratropical cyclones of the Northern Hemisphere regardless of the stage of their development. The number of cases being analyzed is 1.5 × 106. Cyclone areas vary from 0.13 × 106 to 6.4 × 106 km2, and 80% of extratropical cyclones have an intensity of 1–15 hPa. The distribution of the number of cyclones depending on their intensities is shown to be of an exponential character. The distributions of the number of cyclones were approximated with a very high accuracy, so that the regularities obtained are very stable during the past several decades.  相似文献

Using a flow cytometer (FCM) onboard the R/V Xuelong during the 24th Chinese Antarctic cruise, picoplankton community structure and biomass in the surface water were examined along the latitude and around the Antarctic Ocean. Salinity and temperature were automatically recorded and total Chla was determined. Along the cruise, the abundance of Synechococcus, Prochlorococcus, pico-eukaryotes and heterotrophic bacteria ranged in 0.001-1.855×108 ind./L, 0.000-2.778£108 ind./L, 0.002-1.060×108 ind./L and 0.132-27.073×108 ind./L, respectively. Major oceanic distribution of Synechococcus and Prochlorococcus appeared between latitudes 30°N and 30°S. Prochlorococcus was mainly influenced by water temperature, water mass combination and freshwater inflow. Meanwhile, Synechococcus distribution was significantly associated with landing freshwater inflow. Pico-eukaryotes and heterotrophic bacteria were distributed all over the oceans, but with a relatively low abundance in the high latitudes of the Antarctic Ocean. Principal Component Analysis showed that at same latitude of Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean, picoplankton distribution and constitution were totally different, geographical location and different water masses combination would be main reasons.  相似文献

利用流式细胞仪对河北省扇贝养殖区微微型浮游植物、异养细菌、浮游病毒4季的丰度分布特征进行了研究,分析了三者与环境因子的相关性,并与渤海、北黄海非养殖区的超微型浮游生物丰度的分布特征进行对比。结果显示:在养殖区海域,聚球藻丰度在9.00×102—7.07×105cell/m L之间,峰值出现在秋季,且与其他季节差异显著(P0.01)。微微型真核藻类丰度在5.80×102—3.23×105cell/m L之间,夏季赤潮暴发期间,丰度达到3.23×105cell/m L,显著高于其他季节(P0.01)。异养细菌丰度在3.10×105—3.79×106cell/m L之间,峰值出现在秋季,夏、秋季丰度显著高于春、冬季(P0.01)。浮游病毒丰度在2.50×105—2.17×106cell/m L之间,峰值出现在秋季,但无显著性季节差异(P0.05)。通过主成分分析发现,聚球藻、微微型真核藻类、异养细菌和浮游病毒的丰度在不同季节受到不同环境因子的影响。在春、冬季,温度是主要影响因素;而在夏、秋季,主要受到营养盐的影响。养殖区与非养殖区超微型浮游生物主成分4季均有显著差异,养殖区异养细菌4季均是超微型浮游生物的主成分,而非养殖区超微型浮游生物的主成分4季均是微微型浮游植物,结果表明养殖活动显著影响了养殖区超微型浮游生物的群落结构和功能。  相似文献

于2006年7月~ 2007年10月间,分4个季度调查了河北省沿岸微微型浮游植物的丰度和生物量及对浮游植物总生物量的贡献.结果显示:河北近岸海域聚球藻蓝细菌丰度为4.46×103个/mL(0.79×103~ 16.19×103个/mL),生物量(以碳计,下同)为1.31 mg/m3 (0.84~17.47 mg/m3),季节分布特征为秋季>冬季>夏季>春季.微微型光合真核生物丰度为4.43×102个/mL (0.84×102~ 17.47×102个/mL),生物量为1.11mg /m3 (0.21~ 4.37 mg/m3),季节变化变现为秋季>冬季>春季>夏季.微微型浮游植物对浮游植物总生物量的贡献年平均为5.32%(1.84%~ 8.91%),春季最高,秋季最低.温度在较冷季节(冬春季)里是影响聚球藻蓝细菌生长和分布的控制因素.总之,在近岸环境里,微微型浮游植物并不占优势.  相似文献

Batch to batch differences of IAPSO standard seawater (SSW) batches P103 to P129 were examined. Several comparison experiments, in which 2–23 batches of SSW were compared with each other, were carried out during the period from 1991 to 1997. Batch to batch differences for the KCl-labeled batches, P91 through P129 except for P113, P115, P117, P125 and P126, ranged from −2.2×10−3 to 1.2×10−3 in salinity with an average of −0.1×10−3 in salinity. Within-batch differences were observed to be <0.3×10−3 in salinity for recent batches except a few for which the differences were up to 0.6–0.9×10−3 in salinity. The KCl-labeled batches generally agreed to within 1.0×10−3 in salinity with the assumed reference. Applications of batch to batch differences of SSW for World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) expedition salinity data led to a significant reduction in salinity variance at crossovers both at the regional scale of the Philippine Sea and the basin scale of the Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. To obtain accuracy better than 2×10−3 in salinity, within-batch differences were also considered before the standardization for several ampoules of SSW. It is prudent that we continue the monitoring of batch to batch differences of SSW by comparing new with previous batches, so that one may correct both future salinity data and the historical salinity data.  相似文献

Phytoplanktonic ecological provinces of the Yellow Sea(31.20°–39.23°N, 121.00°–125.16°E) is derived in terms of species composition and hydrological factors(temperature and salinity). 173 samples were collected from 40 stations from April 28 to May 18, 2014, and a total of 185 phytoplanktonic algal species belonging to 81 genera of 7phyla were identified by Uterm?hl method. Phytoplankton abundance in surface waters is concentrated in the west coast of Korean Peninsula and Korea Bay, and communities in those areas are mainly composed of diatoms and cyanobacteria with dominant species of Cylindrotheca closterium, Synechocystis pevalekii, Chroomonas acuta,Paralia sulcata, Thalassiosira pacifica and Karenia mikimotoi, etc. The first ten dominant species of the investigation area are analyzed by multidimensional scaling(MDS) and cluster analysis, then the Yellow Sea is divided into five provinces from Province I(P-I) to Province V(P-V). P-I includes the coastal areas near southern Liaodong Peninsula, with phytoplankton abundance of 35 420×10~3–36 163×10~3 cells/L and an average of 35 791×10~3 cells/L, and 99.84% of biomass is contributed by cyanobacteria. P-II is from Shandong Peninsula to Subei coastal area. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 2×10~3–48×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3cells/L, and 63.69% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-III represents the Changjiang(Yangtze River) Diluted Water. Phytoplankton abundance is 10×10~3–37×10~3 cells/L with an average of 24×10~3 cells/L, and 73.14% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-IV represents the area affected by the Yellow Sea Warm Current.Phytoplankton abundance ranges from 6×10~3 to 82×10~3 cells/L with an average of 28×10~3 cells/L, and 64.17% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. P-V represents the cold water mass of northern Yellow Sea. Phytoplankton abundance is in a range of 41×10~3–8 912×10~3 cells/L with an average of 1 763×10~3 cells/L, and 89.96% of biomass is contributed by diatoms. Overall, structures of phytoplankton community in spring are quite heterogeneous in different provinces. Canonical correspondence analysis(CCA) result illustrates the relationship between dominant species and environmental factors, and demonstrates that the main environmental factors that affect phytoplankton distribution are nitrate, temperature and salinity.  相似文献

It is shown that the values of the diffusion coefficient of MgSO40 ion pairs computed by Harned and Hudson (J. Am. Chem. Soc., 73: 5880, 1951) and Katz and Ben-Yaakov (Mar. Chem., 8: 263, 1980) are too high by a factor of 2. The correct value of the ion pair diffusion coefficient at infinite dilution was obtained from the measured mutual diffusion coefficient after applying corrections for incomplete dissociation, the electrophoretic effect, the viscosity of the solution and the effect of chloride ion pairs (in the ionic media used during measurements of the stoichiometric association constant of MgSO40 ion pairs). The MgSO40 diffusion coefficient is calculated to be 0.65 × 10?5 cm28?1. The result is independent of the concentration up to a value of 0.8 mol dm?3.Values were also calculated for the diffusion coefficients of the following ion pairs: NaSO4? (0.81 × 10?5), CaCl+ (0.78 × 10?5), BaCl+ (0.85 × 10?5), NaCl0 (0.86 × 10?5), KCl0 (1.09 × 10?5), NH4Cl0 (1.10 × 10?5) and CaCl0 (1.27 × 10?5). In general, the diffusion coefficients are less than those of the free ions. The results show quantitative agreement with theoretical predictions.  相似文献

Free-living marine nematodes at two littoral sites near Vancouver, Canada were studied over a 1-year period. Sixty-four species were found at a Belcarra Park site, with a maximum nematode density of 6·7 × 105 m?2 and 24 species at Iona Island, with a maximum density of 1·6 × 105 m?2. At both sites most of the nematodes occurred in the upper 2 cm of the 6 cm depth of sediment examined, and the vertical distribution of most species remained constant during the year. The distribution of the nematodes in relation to some physical parameters is discussed. The occurrence of certain species suggests that they have a worldwide distribution.  相似文献
