Reported ancient bottom current deposits in deep marine settings are scarce and most of them remain contentious. This study describes sedimentological, ichnological and petrographical characteristics of a drill core that covers ca 10 Myr of Upper Cretaceous stratigraphy at Hold with Hope, north-east Greenland. The core is divided into four facies associations, which are interpreted to reflect deposition from bottom currents, turbidity flows and hemipelagic settling in slope and/or near slope environments. The evidence for bottom current influence is three-fold. Firstly, pervasive indications of winnowing such as marine bioclast-rich lags and outsized clasts on ‘mud on mud’ contacts are suggestive of low-sediment concentration flows capable of transporting up to pebble-sized clasts. Common Mn–Fe–Mg rich carbonate matrix cements and various types of hiatal chemogenic lag deposits showing glauconite, apatite and carbonate clasts also point to condensation, prolonged exposure at the sediment–water interface and recurrent phases of sea-floor erosion. Secondly, such deposits can show indicators for tidal processes such as double mud-drapes, tangential bottom sets in dune-scale cross-bedding and cyclic rhythmites. Thirdly, inverse to normal grading at various scales is common in fully marine, commonly seafloor-derived sediments. Ichnological data indicate considerable taxonomic variability in the bottom current deposits, but recurrent fabrics are characteristically dominated by morphologically simple burrows such as Thalassinoides and Planolites, with secondary Phycosiphon, Nereites, Zoophycos and/or Chondrites. In general, opportunistic taxa are common whereas mature composite ichnofabrics are rare. The omission surfaces are locally burrowed with stiffground to firmground trace fossil suites. The results contribute to establishing sedimentological, ichnological and mineralogical criteria for recognition of bottom current deposits as well as to the understanding of the Late Cretaceous palaeoenvironmental evolution of the Arctic region. 相似文献

Volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits contain variable amounts of gold, both in terms of average grade and total gold content, with some VMS deposits hosting world-class gold mines with more than 100?t Au. Previous studies have identified gold-rich VMS as having an average gold grade, expressed in g/t, exceeding the total abundance of base metals, expressed in wt.%. However, statistically meaningful criteria for the identification of truly anomalous deposits have not been established. This paper presents a more extensive analysis of gold grades and tonnages of 513 VMS deposits worldwide, revealing a number of important features in the distribution of the data. A large proportion of deposits are characterized by a relatively low gold grade (<2?g/t), with a gradual decrease in frequency towards maximum gold grades, defining a log-normal distribution. In the analysis presented in this paper, the geometric mean and geometric standard deviation appear to be the simplest metric for identifying subclasses of VMS deposits based on gold grade, especially when comparing deposits within individual belts and districts. The geometric mean gold grade of 513 VMS deposits worldwide is 0.76?g/t; the geometric standard deviation is +2.70?g/t Au. In this analysis, deposits with more than 3.46?g/t Au (geometric mean plus one geometric standard deviation) are considered auriferous. The geometric mean gold content is 4.7?t Au, with a geometric standard deviation of +26.3?t Au. Deposits containing 31?t Au or more (geometric mean plus one geometric standard deviation) are also considered to be anomalous in terms of gold content, irrespective of the gold grade. Deposits with more than 3.46?g/t Au and 31?t Au are considered gold-rich VMS. A large proportion of the total gold hosted in VMS worldwide is found in a relatively small number of such deposits. The identification of these truly anomalous systems helps shed light on the geological parameters that control unusual enrichment of gold in VMS. At the district scale, the gold-rich deposits occupy a stratigraphic position and volcanic setting that commonly differs from other deposits of the district possibly due to a step change in the geodynamic and magmatic evolution of local volcanic complexes. The gold-rich VMS are commonly associated with transitional to calc-alkaline intermediate to felsic volcanic rocks, which may reflect a particularly fertile geodynamic setting and/or timing (e.g., early arc rifting or rifting front). At the deposit scale, uncommon alteration assemblages (e.g., advanced argillic, aluminous, strongly siliceous, or potassium feldspar alteration) and trace element signatures may be recognized (e.g., Au?CAg?CAs?CSb ± Bi?CHg?CTe), suggesting a direct magmatic input in some systems. 相似文献

The results of palynomorph biofacies analysis in the Upper Cretaceous deposits of the Ust-Yenisei region are presented. The established facies confinement and indicative features of separate palynomorph groups are used, along with identified dinocyst morphotypes and taxa, in paleogeographic reconstructions. Seven palynomorph associations characterizing continental, coastal-marine, shallow-and deep-water facies are distinguished based on quantitative proportions between morphological groupings and individual taxa. As boundaries between distinguishable biostratigraphic and facies subdivisions do not coincide, dinocysts were likely insignificantly dependent in distribution on facies in the West Siberian epicontinental basin at least. On the other hand, distribution trends of particular dinocyst morphotypes and other microphytofossils are correlative with transgressive-regressive cycles and can be used for reconstruction of paleoenvironments. 相似文献

Tellurium-bearing minerals are generally rare in chimney material from mafic and bimodal felsic volcanic hosted massive sulfide (VMS) deposits, but are abundant in chimneys of the Urals VMS deposits located within Silurian and Devonian bimodal mafic sequences. High physicochemical gradients during chimney growth result in a wide range of telluride and sulfoarsenide assemblages including a variety of Cu-Ag-Te-S and Ag-Pb-Bi-Te solid solution series and tellurium sulfosalts. A change in chimney types from Fe-Cu to Cu-Zn-Fe to Zn-Cu is accompanied by gradual replacement of abundant Fe-, Co, Bi-, and Pb- tellurides by Hg, Ag, Au-Ag telluride and galena-fahlore with native gold assemblages. Decreasing amounts of pyrite, both colloform and pseudomorphic after pyrrhotite, isocubanite ISS and chalcopyrite in the chimneys is coupled with increasing amounts of sphalerite, quatz, barite or talc contents. This trend represents a transition from low- to high sulphidation conditions, and it is observed across a range of the Urals deposits from bimodal mafic- to bimodal felsic-hosted types: Yaman-Kasy → Molodezhnoye → Uzelga → Valentorskoye → Oktyabrskoye → Alexandrinskoye → Tash-Tau → Jusa. 相似文献

Summary Chromite mineralization was found during a detailed geological mapping, carried out in 1962, in the region of the Seven Lakes, Northern Rila Mountain. Mineralogical studies showed that the ore minerals of this mineralization are of a great variety, and are members of the little known group of ferrospinels with varying chromium-, aluminium- and magnesium-content. Only three minerals are described in the present paper. They are well defined varieties, differing from one another by their chemical composition and physical properties.

Seltene Vertreter der Spinell-Gruppe in Ultrabasiten von Bulgarien
Zusammenfassung Bei einer detaillierten geologischen Kartierung im Gebiet der Sieben Seen, nördliches Rila-Gebirge, wurden im Jahre 1962 Chromit-Mineralisationen gefunden. Die mineralogische Bearbeitung zeigte, daß die Erzminerale dieser Mineralisation stark variieren und daß sie zu der noch wenig bekannten Gruppe der Ferrospinelle mit wechselndem Chrom-, Aluminium- und Magnesiumgehalt gehören. In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden nur drei Glieder beschrieben. Es handelt sich um gut definierte Varietäten, die sich in der chemischen Zusammensetzung und in den physikalischen Eigenschaften unterscheiden.

对胶东四类金矿床(盆地边缘砾岩型、斑岩型-浅成热液型、石英脉型和破碎带蚀变岩型)矿石中的碳酸盐矿物开展了系统的碳-氧同位素和锶-钕同位素地球化学研究。研究结果表明,与宏观的成矿地质条件和矿床地质特征相对应,山东金矿床可能有亲岩浆岩和亲沉积盆地两个不同的成矿系统。前者包括斑岩型-浅成热液型、石英脉型和破碎带蚀变岩型三类金矿床,后者指盆地边缘砾岩型金矿床,二者具有不同的碳-氧和锶-钕同位素地球化学特征。山东亲岩浆岩系列的金矿床,其锶-钕同位素与同时代的幔源岩浆岩一致,碳同位素显示幔源碳和岩浆碳的特征,氧同位素则显示初生水与大气降水不同比例混合的可能性,因此有可能是以CO2为主、富合成矿金属的地幔流体与浅部下渗大气降水相互作用的结果。而与岩浆岩关系不密切、主要受盆地边缘断裂控制的盆地边缘砾岩型金矿床,其碳-氧和锶-钕同位素组成均较分散,可能主要与地壳浅部下渗大气降水对上地壳各种岩石淋滤萃取演化而成的成矿流体有关。 相似文献

上黑龙江盆地是近年来发现的重要岩金成矿区,文章对该区的砂宝斯、老沟等矿床进行了详细的野外调查和矿床地质特征研究,通过流体包裹体均一温度、包裹体成分群体分析、单个包裹体激光拉曼探针分析和H、O、S、Pb同位素研究,对金矿的成矿作用进行了深入探讨。研究结果表明,矿石中硫化物以黄铁矿为主,硫化物含量一般不超过3%,为少硫化物型矿石。流体包裹体主要类型为气液两相和含CO2三相包裹体,并有少量纯CO2包裹体。黄铁矿等的δ34S值为-1.6‰~9.6‰;成矿热液的δ18O值为-1.3‰~ 6.6‰,δD值为-89‰~-135‰;铅同位素表现出造山带铅同位素特征。成矿流体液相中阳离子主要为Na 、K ,阴离子主要是Cl-和SO2-4,气相成分中H2O、CO2和N2占绝对优势,还含有H2、O2、CO、CH4、C2H4、C2H6、C3H8、C6H6和H2S,成矿晚期CH4含量明显增加,总体上属H2O_NaCl_CO2_CH4体系。流体包裹体的盐度w(NaCleq)平均为5.0%,属低盐度流体;均一温度为266.5~295.2℃,属中温热液矿床。上述金矿床与造山型金矿具有相似的地质_地球化学特征,矿石类型为Au_Sb组合,属标准的浅成造山型金矿床,形成于中生代蒙古—鄂霍茨克陆_陆碰撞造山环境。 相似文献

Major-element analyses (by electron microprobe) and copper contents (by ion-probe) are reported for primary biotite, amphibole,
magnetite, pyroxene, ilmenite, sphene and secondary biotite from intrusive rocks from mineralizing and barren stocks. The
districts studied include Christmas, Globe-Miami, Sierrita and Tombstone, in Arizona; Bingham and Alta, Utah; Ely, Nevada;
and Brenda, British Columbia.
Amphiboles from barren rocks are relatively iron-rich and display only minor compositional variation. In contrast, amphiboles
from mineralizing rocks span the range from magnesio-hornblende to actinolite, commonly even within one grain.
Barren intrusions (type B) that are temporally distinct from mineralizing intrusions, and barren intrusions outside areas
of known mineralization have higher Cu contents in their constituent minerals than do mineralizing intrusions.
Barren intrusions (type A) that are deep-level temporal equivalents of Cu-bearing porphyritic rocks are depleted in copper.
This suggests that copper is abstracted from not only the apical portions of porphyries but from parts of the deeper parent
intrusions.
The Cu contents of biotites (av. 23 ppm) and magnetites (97 ppm) from barren type B intrusions contrast with those from mineralizing
intrusions, with biotites containing 7 ppm Cu and magnetites 3 ppm Cu. Primary amphiboles from all intrusive rock types have
low copper contents, typically 2 to 5 ppm.
In the continental North American deposits, the amount of copper available by liberation from or non-incorporation into amphibole,
biotite and magnetite during magmatic crystallization or the early hydrothermal stage is low, perhaps too low to be the sole
source of copper mineralization, unless copper is abstracted from large volumes (∼ 100 km3) of rock. These results contrast with a study of the island-arc porphyry copper at Koloula, Guadalcanal, where it was argued
that sufficient copper for mineralization could have been abstracted from relatively small volumes of host rocks that originally
contained as much Cu as the contemporaneous barren rock types. 相似文献

The Elshitsa volcanic hosted massive sulphide deposit occurs in the central part of the Srena Gora metallogenic zone in Bulgaria.
The gold-bearing massive sulphide mineralization is considered to be the product of an island arc volcano-plutonic process
and hydrothermal activity that took place during the Late Cretaceous. In addition to the major gold-hosted opaque minerals
such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena there are minor phases of tennantite, goldfieldite, Se-bearing aikinite,
native silver and bornite in the massive sulphide lenses and stringer zones. Most of the sulphide minerals are Se-bearing.
All of the six mineral assemblages that were deposited during the pyrite and copper-pyrite stages of mineralization are gold-bearing.
The gold tenor as a rule is less than 1 g/t. Native gold and electrum occur as blebs or intergranular particles in the sulphide
minerals. Gold in the early massive pyrite is of submicroscopic type (< 0,1 μm) and of colloidal ori-gin. Pyrite deformation
and recrystallization in the temperature range 250°–160 °C has led to Au and Ag migration to cracks and grain boundaries of
the sulphide minerals. As a result of these process the native gold and electrum grain size increases from submicroscopic
(< 0,1 μm) in the early colloform pyrite to microscopic (0,1–100 μm) and macroscopic (> 100 μm) in the late gold-sulphide
assemblages. The electrum fineness in 41 individually studied grains varies between 780 and 992‰ with a mean of 895‰. Native
silver was found in association with bornite. Cu, Te, Sb and Bi are the most common trace-elements in gold and electrum. The
Cu-Zn-Pb association is most important as a Au-Ag-carrier. A model for gold behaviour during sulphide deformation is proposed
involving coarsening of gold grain size from the earlier to the later sulphide mineral assemblages.

在新疆乔尕山及广东河台韧性剪切带金矿床的含金石英脉及糜棱岩中首次发现熔融包裹体及流体一熔融包裹体,其均一化温度分别为780~960℃与600℃。用电子探针及扫描电镜能谱对熔融包裹体子矿物成分进行分析,通过56个熔融包裹体231个测点分析,鉴定出石英、白云母、黑云母、磁铁矿等十种子矿物,组成不同的矿物组合。子矿物常含Si、Al、Na、K、Au、Ag、Cu等元素。剪切带金矿床中熔融包裹体的发现为其成因研究提供了新依据,表明成矿与多阶段硅酸盐熔体及流体作用有关。 相似文献

Electron-microprobe analyses and mineragraphic studies of native gold demonstrate considerable variations in the primary intergrain and intragrain distribution of silver. The gold grains have from 1–55 weight percent silver; copper is present in grains from only one locality and ranges from 0.1–0.6 weight percent. Some gold grains have strong zoning of silver whereas others have no detectable zoning. Gold grains from some deposits show remarkable intergrain homogeneity of silver and/or copper content, but others exhibit extreme heterogeneity. We believe that the inhomogeneities and variations in silver content recognized and emphasized here are features of primary deposition. We also recognize low-silver rims with sharp boundaries bordering many of the grains examined but believe these are developed in a relatively oxidizing, low-temperature environment and are not primary lode features. Opaque mineral inclusions of primary origin in gold grains are common in some deposits, scarce in many, and virtually absent from others. These inclusions may be of value in characterizing some gold deposits. For the majority of gold crystals from Copper Basin, Arizona, the lowest silver content observed was in the central portion of each grain and the highest silver content was in the rim. This is believed to be due an increase in the proportion of silver to gold in solution during growth of the crystals. Analysis of sized fractions of 331 gold grains from Pennsylvania Mountain, Colorado, shows no systematic correlation of grain size with silver content. Electron microprobe step-scanning of gold from Alder Gulch, Montana, suggests more than one mineralization event took place. Pyrite and acanthite inclusions less than 0.05 mm in the largest dimension, are present in some grains from this deposit. Inclusions of pyrite, pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, and an isotropic Co-As-S mineral are present in the low-silver, copper-bearing gold from Ninemile Creek, Montana. The presence of copper and the low silver content in this gold is not typical of the gold-quartz-pyrite association which is common in the Western United States.

Zusammenfassung Untersuchungen von Zusammensetzungen von Einzelkörnern und benachbarten Körnern mit der Mikrosonde und durch erzmikroskopische Studien an gediegenem Gold weisen beträchtliche Variationen in der primären Verteilung von Silber auf. Die Goldkörner enthalten von 1–55 Gewichtsprozent Silber; Kupfer ist gegenwärtig in Körnern von nur einer Gegend zwar in Mengen von 0,1–0,6 Gewichtsprozent. Manche Goldkörner sind stark zonar mit Silber während andere keine bemerkbaren Zonen aufweisen. Goldkörner aus einigen Ablagerungen zeigen eine bemerkenswerte Homogenität von Silberund/oder Kupfergehalt, andere aber sind durch extreme Inhomogenität gakennzeichnet. Wir glauben, daß die festgestellten Inhomogenitäten und Variationen des Silbergehaltes Merkmale von primären Ablagerungen sind. Zusätzlich wurden an vielen von den von uns untersuchten Körnern scharfbegrenzte Randzonen mit niedrigem Silbergehalt beobachtet. Wir glauben, daß sich die Randzonen in einer verhältnismäßig oxidierenden Umgebung von niedriger Temperatur entwickelten und daß sie nicht Merkmale primärer Erzadern sind. Opake Mineraleinschlüsse von primärem Ursprung in Goldkörnern kommen in manchen Ablagerungen vor, selten in vielen und sind virtuell abwesend in anderen. Für einige Goldablagerungen können diese Einschlüsse als charakteristische Kennzeichen von Wert sein. Der niedrigste Silbergehalt für die meisten Goldkristalle, aus dem Copper Basin, Arizona, war in der Mitte der Körner und der höchste Silbergehalt war in den Randzonen der Körner gegenwärtig. Es wird angenommen daß dieses auf eine Zunahme in den Proportionen von Silber zu Gold in der Lösung während des Wachstums der Kristalle zurückzuführen ist. Analysen von Größensortierungen von 331 Goldkörnern aus den Pennsylvania Mountain, Colorado, zeigen keine systematische Korrelation der Korngrößen mit den Silbergehalten. Mikrosonde — Scanninganalysen an Gold aus dem Alder Gulch, Montana, weisen auf mehr als einen Mineralisationsvorgang hin. Pyrit- und Akanthiteinschlüsse von weniger als 0,05 mm in den größten Dimensionen sind in einigen Körnern dieser Ablagerung enthalten. Einschlüsse von Pyrit, Pyrrhotin, Chalcopyrit und von einem isotropen Co-As-S-mineral finden sich in dem silberarmen, kupferhaltigen Gold von Ninemile Creek, Montana. Der Kupfergehalt und der niedrige Silbergehalt in diesem Gold sind nicht typisch für die in dem westlichen Teil der USA übliche Gold-Quarz-Pyrit Assoziation.

黔西南地区是中国西南低温成矿域中卡林型金矿最重要的矿化集中区,由于该地区金的粒径极小,难以构成自然重砂异常,故不能直接运用自然金矿物来指示寻找黔西南的卡林型金矿。在贵州省矿产资源潜力评价项目的工作过程中,对黔西南地区的自然重砂矿物特征进行了较为系统的研究,发现采用细粒黄铁矿(载金矿物)、砷矿物(伴生矿物)、锑矿物和汞矿物的自然重砂组(综)合异常对寻找黔西南地区的卡林型金矿具有一定的指导作用和找矿意义。 相似文献

Summary The podiform chromitites investigated in the course of this study occur in intensely serpentinized dunites and peridotites of unknown age (paleozoic or older) within a metamorphic complex consisting of gneisses, amphibolites and marbles. Concentrations of platinum group elements (PGE) and the distribution of platinum group minerals (PGM) have been investigated in the chromitite occurrences of Dobromirci and Pletene.PGE concentrations in chromitites vary from 787 to 891 ppb (Dobromirci). The highest value was recorded in chromite ore from Pletene (1274 ppb). The enrichment is due to high contents of Os, Ir and Ru, whereas the contents of Rh, Pt and Pd are relatively low. The Ru-contents (480-600 ppb) are remarkable and correspond to the average content in chondrite Cl. Chondrite-normalized PGE distribution patterns of chromitites of both localities reveal a distinctly negative trend from Ru to Pd, which is typical for chromites from ophiolites.Irrespective of their chemical composition, most chromites carry numerous PGM inclusions which have formed during the magmatic stage at high sulphur fugacity (fs2). In addition to laurite, the main mineral, there are sulpharsenides of Ru-Ir-Os (ruarsite, irarsite, osarsite).Textural aspects and the results of chemical analyses show that the concentration of PGE is not caused by substitution in the lattice of chromite, but by magmatic formation of discrete PGM before or contemporaneously with chromite. All PGM apparently remained unaltered. No evidence for remobilization or redistribution of PGE by serpentinization has been found.

In den Chromitit-Vorkommen von Dobromirci und Pletene wurden Konzentrationen der Elemente der Platingruppe (PGE) und die Verteilung der Minerale der Platingruppe (PGM) untersucht.Die PGE-Konzentration der Chromitite variiert zwischen 787 und 891 ppb (Dobromirci). Die höchste Konzentration wurde im Chromiterz aus Pletene (1274 ppb) gefunden. Die Anreicherung geht auf hohe Beteiligung von Os, Ir und Ru zurück, da die Gehalte an Rh, Pt und Pd relativ niedrig sind. Auffallend hoch sind die Ru-Gehalte (480-600 ppb), die dem mittleren Gehalt im Chondrit Cl entsprechen. Chondritnormalisierte PGE-Verteilungsmuster von Chromititen beider Lokalitäten zeigen einen stark negativen Trend von Ru zu Pd, der für Ophiolith-Chromite typisch ist.Unabhängig von ihrem Chemismus führen die meisten Chromite zahlreiche PGME-Einschlüsse, die sich magmatisch bei hoher Schwefelfugazität (fS2) gebildet haben. Neben dem Hauptmineral Laurit, wurden Sulfarsenide von Ru-Ir-Os (Ruarsit, Irarsit, Osarsit) festgestellt.Texturelle Merkmale der PGM und Ergebnisse der chemischen Analysen führen zu der Schlußfolgerung, daß die Konzentration der PGE nicht auf eine Substitution in Chromit, sondern auf die Frühbildung der selbständigen PGM vor oder gleichzeitig mit den Chromiten zurückzuführen ist. Die PGM zeigen keine Alterationserscheinungen. Es wurden keine Hinweise für eine Remobilisation oder Umsetzung der PGE durch Serpentinisierung gefunden.

As an important part of an epidermic system, terrestrial deposits can provide a good record of major geological events in the Cretaceous epidemic system. This article is a review of the geological background, paleogeography, paleoclimate, basin evolution and sedimentary characteristics in China through the Cretaceous period, in order to provide a comprehensive understanding for interested researchers. During the Berriasian-Hauterivian age, red-mainly fluvial and shallow lacustrine deposition developed under arid and semi-arid climates in westen China when eastern China had been occupied by the “East Plateau”. During the Barremian-Albian, age coal-bearing depositions occurred to the north of the Yanshan Mountain under the wet and warm climate. However, mainly red fluvial and shallow lacustrine depositions prevailed in most of the south to the Yanshan Mountain except basins where seawater could enter and caused mostly green depositions. During the Cenomanian-Santonian age, high land uplift took place in northwestern China. Mainly red deposition with developed alluvial plains occupied southwestern China and South China when the Songliao Basin was filled by black deep lacustrine mud shale caused by transgression. Detailed mineralogical and geochemical studies of the volcanogenic sulphide mineralization in the Spanish part of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (IPB) define two geochemical, mineralogical and spatial gold associations: (1) the Tharsis-Sotiel-Migollas type in which the gold is enriched with (Co?±?Bi) in the stockworks and interaction zones at the base of the massive sulphide mound; and (2) the Rio Tinto-Aznalcóllar-La Zarza type in which the gold is enriched in facies with a polymetallic (Zn?+?Ag?±?As?±?Tl?±?Hg) signature in a distal position or blocked beneath the massive sulphides. The first type is localized within a domain covering the southern half of the belt which is characterized by an abundance of sedimentary facies. The paragenesis shows that the gold association formed at high temperature (>300?°C) during the initial phases of massive sulphide genesis; the gold, which occurs in patches of very auriferous electrum (Au?>?75?wt.%), was transported by chloride complexes. The second type is found in the northern domain of the belt where volcanic facies are predominant. The paragenesis shows that the gold association formed at lower temperature (<280?°C) late in the massive sulphide genesis. This gold was transported by bisulphide complexes [Au(HS)2 ?] and is contained in Ag- and Hg-rich electrum (up to 61.0 and 30.5?wt.% respectively) and/or auriferous arsenopyrite (mean of 280?ppm Au), two mineral expressions that are able to coexist. It would appear that sulphur activity and oxygen fugacity were important factors in controlling the distribution of gold between the two host minerals and also in determining the Ag content of the electrum. This antithetic behaviour of the gold in the IPB reflects differences in the gold mineralizing fluids that may be due to the geologic environment; i.e. either dominantly sedimentary and acting as a mechanical barrier for gold bearing fluids, or dominantly volcanic and more open to seawater circulation. The fact that possible complications can occur during massive sulphide genesis, in response to the source and evolution of the fluids, raises the question of whether one or two gold influxes are involved. For example, the two gold associations could derive from a single gold influx, with remobilization and redistribution of the gold from the early (Co?±?Bi) facies giving rise to the later gold paragenesis of the (Zn?+?Ag?±?As?±?Tl?±?Hg) facies; this would not have occurred or would have been limited at the Tharsis-Sotiel-Migollas type orebodies. Alternatively, the two gold associations could reflect two separate evolutionary processes distinguished by the gold appearing either early or late in the hydrothermal fluids. Knowing the gold association of a massive sulphide deposit is an advantage when exploring for potential host facies. 相似文献
