A flood risk model was developed for the Czech Republic to calculate the probability of insured losses from flood events. The model was GIS based, making use of a 100 m horizontal resolution DTM and a network of the major rivers in the country. A review of historical flooding was undertaken to define the worst and most widespread flood events. Synthetic flood events were generated based on a study of the spatial variation in magnitude of river flows from selected historical flood events going back to 1935. A total of 30 synthetic events were generated each providing peak flows at 25 gauging stations throughout the country. The flows were converted into flood levels using rating equations based on information provided by the Czech Hydrological and Meteorological Institute. The extent of and depth of flooding was mapped on a cell by cell basis by applying an automated procedure developed using the grid option within the Arc/Info GIS. The flood depths were combined with maps of the postal codes to define an average flood depth per post code. The model was calibrated using maps of the observed flood extents from 1997 and 2002. 相似文献

Equilibrium pressure–temperature (P–T) conditions were estimated for kyanite‐bearing eclogite from Nové Dvory, Czech Republic, by using garnet–clinopyroxene thermometry and garnet–clinopyroxene–kyanite–coesite (or quartz) barometry. The estimated P–T conditions are 1050–1150 °C, 4.5–4.9 GPa, which are mostly the same as previously estimated values for garnet peridotite from Nové Dvory (~1100–1250 °C, 5–6 GPa). Such very high‐P conditions, which correspond to about 150‐km depth, have been obtained for some garnet peridotites in the Gföhl Unit of the Bohemian Massif, but pressure conditions of eclogites associated with the garnet peridotites have not been so well constrained. This is the first substantial finding of eclogite that gives such very high‐P conditions in the Gföhl Unit of the Bohemian Massif. The Gföhl Unit mainly consists of felsic granulite or migmatitic gneiss, but these rock types do not display high‐P (>2.5 GPa) evidence. It is unclear whether both the peridotite body and surrounding felsic rocks in the Gföhl Unit were buried to very deep levels, but at least some garnet peridotites and associated eclogites in the Gföhl Unit have ascended from about 150‐km depth. 相似文献

Isotopic composition of salt efflorescence from the sandstone castellated rocks of the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (Czech Republic) 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The origin of sulphates in sulphate-rich efflorescences on quartz sandstones with a clay matrix, exposed in rural areas of
the Czech Republic is interpreted, based upon an isotopic study of S and O. Sulphates such as gypsum and/or alums exhibit
δ34S ranging from +1.3 to +6.1‰ and δ18O from +5.3 to +8.8‰. The low variability of S and O isotopes indicates a common source of the sulphur and a similar mode
of sulphate formation. Atmospheric sulphates with a similar isotopic signature occur in the area, due to the combustion of
sulphurous coal in power plants, located a few tens of kilometres from the sampling points. The sulphates crystallize from
supersaturated pore waters that represent atmospheric precipitation, rich in sulphates, having percolated through the porous
sandstone system. The previously proposed model of efflorescence growth (that it is due to the oxidation of pyrite) can be
excluded, due to both the rare occurrence of pyrite and also to its different isotopic signature (δ34S about −22‰). Although gypsum prevails in the central and eastern part of the studied area, the north and north-west of the
Bohemian Cretaceous Basin (the most polluted region) exhibits a significant presence of alums (NH4
+ or K+−NH4
+-rich). Formation of alums can be explained by the partial dissolution of clay minerals or feldspars present in the sandstone
matrix. Release of alumina from these phases is facilitated by the low pH of the precipitation (pH 4–4.5) and also locally
by organic acids, traces of which were found in the studied efflorescences by the use of infrared spectroscopy. 相似文献

The study brings new information concerning a large slope deformation in the northern part of the Silesian Beskydy Mountains
in the territory of the Czech Republic. The studied area is a large-scale transformation of the forefront of a flysch nappe
formed especially by rigid sandstones upon a plastic underlying nappe. As a consequence of the vertical contact of mechanically
different formations and depositing conditions of rocks and tectonics on the nappe forefront, several generations of deep-seated
slope deformations occurred accompanied by shallow landslides in the historic period. Structural measurement and geophysical
sounding proved prevailing lateral spreading in the upper parts of the slopes as well as the occurrence of rotational landslides
whose landslide scarps overlap with the line of overthrust of the Godula Nappe on the Těšín Nappe. Radiocarbon dating determined
the period of the occurrence of rotational landslides as falling into the Subboreal up to Subatlantic. 相似文献

Efflorescence, case hardening, and granular disintegration represent common weathering features of Upper Cretaceous quartz
sandstones exposed in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park (NW Bohemia, Czech Republic). Salt species (sulphates: gypsum
(CaSO4·2H2O), potassium alum (KAl(SO4)2·12H2O), tschermigite (NH4Al(SO4)2·12H2O), alunite (K(Al3(SO4)2(OH)6), and alunogen (Al2(SO4)3·17H2O), minor nitrates: nitrammite (NH4NO3)) determined by X-ray diffraction exhibit vertical and geographic zoning. More soluble salts (chlorides, nitrates, tschermigite)
crystallize preferentially on the cliffs exposed to the south, whereas the north face is characterized by the presence of
less soluble phases: gypsum and K(Al3(SO4)2(OH)6. Vertical zoning of salt distribution on natural outcrops differs from the salt distribution in masonry. Salt distribution
near the base of the cliff (profile to about 2–2.5 m above the ground) is affected by capillary rise from the ground level
(first maximum of water-soluble salts at the level of 1–1.5 m above the ground) and by percolation of precipitation through
the overhanging rock sequence (second maximum of 2–2.5 m above the ground). Percolation of salt solution from higher parts
is affected by the asperity of the rock surface. The concentration of salts (determined by ion exchange chromatography) correlates
to the changes of physical properties: bulk porosity, microporosity and water absorption. The porosity, microporosity, moisture
content and absorption generally increase with the increasing volume of sulphates and nitrates. 相似文献

Terrestrial plants and insects currently account for the majority of the Earth's biodiversity, and approximately half of insect species are herbivores. Thus, insects and plants share ancient associations that date back more than 400 Myr. However, investigations of their past interactions are at the preliminary stages in Western Europe. Herein, we present the first results of our study of various feeding damage based on a dataset of nearly 3500 examined plant specimens from the Lower Miocene of the Lagerst?tte Bílina Mine in the Most Basin, Czech Republic. This site provides a unique view of the Neogene freshwater ecosystems. It has long been studied by scientists working in different branches of sedimentology, paleobotany, and paleozoology. The fossils are preserved in three characteristic horizons overlaying the coal seam (Clayey Superseam Horizon, Delta Sandy Horizon, and Lake Clayey Horizon), reflecting paleoenvironmental changes in a short time period of development. The trace fossils are classified as functional feeding groups or “guilds”, without searching for a direct cause or a recent analog host relation. Approximately 23% of specimens of dicotyledonous plant leaves were found to be damaged and associated with some leaf “morphotypes”. Deciduous plant–host taxa, and those with a chartaceous texture typical of riparian habitats, were frequently damaged, such as Populus, recorded with two species Populus zaddachii and Populus populina (57.9% and 31% herbivory levels, respectively), followed by Acer, Alnus, and Carya, averaging almost 30% of damaged leaves/leaflets. There has been evidence of 60 damage types (DT) representing all functional feeding groups recorded at the Bílina Mine, including 12 types of leaf mines and 16 gall-type DT. In total, Lower Miocene of the Lagerst?tte Bílina Mine exhibits a high level of external foliage feeding types (23.7%), and a low level of more specialized DT, such as galls (4.3%) and leaf mines (<1%). A broader comparison based on DT of the main sedimentary environments shows significance supporting different biomes by frequency of damage levels and DT diversities. 相似文献

U-Pb zircon and rutile multigrain ages and 207Pb/206Pb zircon evaporation ages are reported from high-pressure felsic and metapelitic granulites from northern Bohemia, Czech Republic. The granulites, in contrast to those from other occurrences in the Bohemian Massif, do not show evidence of successive HT/MPLP overprints. Multigrain size fractions of nearly spherical, multifaceted, metamorphic zircons from three samples are slightly discordant and yield a U-Pb Concordia intercept age of 348 ± 10 Ma, whereas single zircon evaporation of two samples resulted in 207Pb/206Pb ages of 339 ± 1.5 and 339 ± 1.4 Ma, respectively. A rutile fraction from one sample has a U-Pb Concordia intercept age of 346 ± 14 Ma. All ages are identical, within error, and a mean age of 342 ± 5 Ma was adopted to reflect the peak of HP metamorphism. Because rutile has a lower closing temperature for the U-Pb isotopic system than zircon, the results and the P-T data imply rapid uplift and cooling after peak metamorphism. The above age is identical to ages for high-grade metamorphism reported from the southern Bohemian Massif and the Granulite Massif in Saxony. It can be speculated that all these granulites were part of the same lower crustal unit in early Carboniferous, being separated later due to crustal stacking and subsequent late Variscan orogenic collapse. 相似文献

Fine-grained floodplain sediments of the catastrophic 2002 flood deposited along the lower reaches of the Berounka and Vltava
Rivers, Czech Republic, were not highly contaminated with heavy metals and other toxic elements. This is due to the dominantly
mineral character of the sediments (Ctot in the range 3.97–5.01%, relatively low content of clay minerals), and due to the very high degree of contamination dilution
by eroded pre-industrial non-contaminated floodplain sediments. Despite this high degree of dilution, the influence of the
small Litavka River, draining the historical Pb–Zn–Ag Příbram ore region, is well visible. The Litavka River is one of important
sources of Pb and Zn contamination in the whole Berounka–Vltava–Labe river system. The 2002 flood sediments deposited in the
floodplain of the Berounka and Vltava Rivers show poor vertical chemical zoning, except for some components enriched in the
uppermost layer by precipitation from evaporated pore-water contained in the mud, i.e. secondary carbonate. The content of
Ccarb of the sediments (0.05–0.15%) is partly represented by this secondary carbonate, which is later leached by rainwater, and
partly by fragments of river mollusk shells. A majority of the heavy metals contained in sediments can be readily leached
by diluted acids, and to a much smaller degree by rainwater. 相似文献

A regional isotopic study of Pb and S in hydrothermal galenas and U–Pb and S in potential source rocks was carried out for part of Moravia, Czech Republic. Two major generations of veins, (syn-) Variscan and post-Variscan, are defined based on the Pb-isotope system together with structural constraints (local structures and regional trends). The Pb-isotopic compositions of galena plot in two distinct populations with outliers in 206Pb/204Pb–207Pb/204Pb space. Galena from veins hosted in greywackes provides a cluster with the lowest Pb–Pb ratios: 206Pb/204Pb = 18.15–18.27, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.59–15.61, 208Pb/204Pb = 38.11–38.23. Those hosted in both limestones and greywackes provide the second cluster: 206Pb/204Pb = 18.37–18.44, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.60–15.63, 208Pb/204Pb = 38.14–38.32. These clusters suggest model Pb ages as Early Carboniferous and Triassic–Jurassic, the latter associated with MVT-like deposits. Two samples from veins hosted in Proterozoic rocks lie outside the two clusters: in metagranitoid (206Pb/204Pb = 18.55, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.64, 208Pb/204Pb = 38.29) and in orthogneiss (206Pb/204Pb = 18.79, 207Pb/204Pb = 15.73, 208Pb/204Pb = 38.54). The results from these two samples suggest an interaction of mineralizing fluids with the radiogenic Pb-rich source (basement?). The values of δ34S suggest the Paleozoic host rocks (mostly ?6.7 to +5.2‰ CDT) as the source of S for hydrothermal sulfides (mostly ?4.8 to +2.5‰ CDT). U–Pb data and Pb isotope evolutionary curves indicate that Late Devonian and Early Carboniferous sediments, especially siliciclastics, are the general dominant contributor of Pb for galena mineralization developed in sedimentary rocks. Plumbotectonic mixing occurred, it is deduced, only between the lower and the upper crust (the latter involving Proterozoic basement containing heterogeneous radiogenic Pb), without any significant input from the mantle. It is concluded that in the Moravo–Silesian and Rhenohercynian zones (including proximal districts in Poland) lead and sulfur have been mobilized from the adjacent rocks during multiple hydrothermal events in processes that are remarkably comparable in timing, geochemistry of fluids and nature of sources. 相似文献

Gravitational spreading of mountain ridges displays primary disequilibrium of flysch mountain areas of the Czech Carpathians.
The progression of various types of mass movements is a product of long-term ridge disintegration and is predisposed by the
geological structure of the area and the upper Tertiary-Quaternary morphogenesis of the mountain area. Deep-seated slope deformations
are spatially interconnected by the occurrence of some other types of slope deformations (e.g. debris flows, debris slides,
slumps, rock avalanches, etc.), which pose a considerable risk for the existence of human society. An important causative
factor in these dynamically developing hazardous processes is, among other factors, the way in which land has been used in
the last three centuries. Therefore, the occurrence of various types of slope deformations is studied in terms of their relation
to deep-seated gravitational deformations and in terms of other limiting factors (structural geological, morphological and
climatic factors, manmade impacts, etc.). The paper presents several case studies of slope deformations (Velká Čantoryje Mt,
Lysá hora Mt, Ropice Mt and Smrk Mt) in the area of the Outer Carpathians within the territory of the Czech Republic and also
adverts to some consequences in terms of the socioeconomic structure of the landscape. 相似文献

在作者及前人对西藏地区泥盆纪地层学、古生物学等资料研究的基础上,作者对该区泥盆纪海相红层进行了初步的系统整理。共识别出6层(套)海相红层,它们是:早泥盆世扎西岗组海相红层(洛赫柯夫阶—布拉格阶)(XDRB1)和春节桥组上部海相红层(埃姆斯阶)(XDRB2),中泥盆世海通组海相红层(艾费尔阶)(XDRB3)和丁宗隆组底部海相红层(吉维阶)(XDRB4),晚泥盆世查果罗玛组(下部)海相红层(弗拉斯阶)(XDRB5)和羌格组顶部海相红层(法门阶)(XDRB6)。所有海相红层均形成于近岸或浅水碳酸盐岩台地环境,因此,属于浅水-半深水陆棚红层,此外,还讨论了中国南方泥盆纪海相红层的分布及全球法门期海相红层广布事件。 相似文献

以长江源区生态地质环境调查基础数据为契机,采用层次分析法(AHP)模型的方式,提出长江源区生态地质环境指标体系,最终划定本区域生态地质环境质量综合指数。在定性的基础上从一个崭新的角度定量化分析长江源头生态地质环境质量的变化,得出影响本区域生态环境的主要因素为动植物环境的改变,进而揭示长江源区生态地质环境发展的未来趋势,为今后研究长江源区生态地质环境质量及其合理发展做出了较为客观、准确的评价。 相似文献

The Early Palaeozoic East Krkonoše Complex (EKC) situated in the central West Sudetes, NE Bohemian Massif, is a volcano‐sedimentary suite containing abundant mafic and felsic volcanics metamorphosed to greenschist facies. The trace element distribution patterns and Nd isotope signatures (ENd500 = + 3.1 to + 6.6) of the metabasites (metabasalts) indicate that they may be related to a rising mantle diapir associated with intracontinental rifting. At the early stage, limited melting of an upwelling asthenosphere produced alkali basalts and enriched tholeiites which compositionally resemble oceanic island basalts. A later stage of rifting with larger degrees of melting at shallower depths generated tholeiitic basalts with E‐MORB to N‐MORB characteristics. The values of (87Sr/86Sr)i = 0.706 and ENd500 = − 5 ±1 of the porphyroids (metarhyolites) as well as the lack of rocks with intermediate compositions suggest that the felsic rocks were formed by a partial melting event of continental crust triggered by mantle melts. The geochemistry of the EKC bimodal metavolcanics and their association with abundant terrigenous metasediments suggest that the felsic–mafic volcanic suite was generated during intracontinental rifting. This process, widespread in Western and Central Europe during the Early Palaeozoic, is evidence of large‐scale fragmentation of the northern margin of the Gondwana supercontinent. The joint application of electromagnetic techniques for near-surface exploration is a useful tool for soil pollution monitoring
and can also contribute towards describing the spatial distribution of pollutants. The results of a geophysical field survey
that was carried out for characterizing the heavy metal and waste disposal soil pollution phenomena in the industrial area
of Val Basento (Basilicata region, Southern Italy) are presented here. First, topsoil magnetic susceptibility measurements
have been carried out for defining the spatial distribution of superficial pollution phenomena in the investigated area. Second,
detailed and integrated measurements based on a high-resolution magnetic mapping and ground probing radar (GPR) profiling
have been applied to investigate the subsurface in two industrial areas located in more polluted sites that were identified
during the first phase. Our monitoring strategy discloses the way to rapidly define the zone characterized by high pollution
levels deriving from chemical industries and traffic emissions and to obtain the way information about the presence of local
