Introduction of the O+++H0O++H+ charge exchange rate suggested by Butler, Bender and Dalgarno leads to theoretical nebular models that differ from those previously computed in several important respects. Different elemental abundances, bluer central star energy distributions, and truncated (material limited) models are required. If the argon abundance is fixed from the 7135 [Ariii] line intensity, 4740 [Ariv] is invariably predicted to be much too strong. Better atomic parameters, together with improved charge exchange rates for other ions, and more accurate dielectronic recombination rates may alleviate the situation.  相似文献

Monochromatic images in H, H, [Nii] 6584, [Sii] 6717, and [Oiii] 5007 lines are presented for a morphological study of planetary nebulae. Narrow bandpass (=5 to 10Å) interference filters are generally used in order to discriminate peculiar structures existing in different emission lines. However, large bandwidths (=50 Å) along with long exposures, are also necessary in searching for faint nebulosities associated with planetaries.Three faint objects of the Abell's list of old planetary nebulae have been observed through narrow band filters, by means of an image tube (A33, A36 in Chile) or the image photon counting device (A79 at the Haute Provence Observatory). Following the H/[Nii] intensity ratio, a discussion is given about the distance previously derived with some assumptions concerning the measured red fluxes.  相似文献

The modern self-consistent photoionization model of planetary nebula luminescence is described. All of the processes which play an important role in the ionization and thermal equilibrium of the nebular gas are taken into consideration. The diffuse ionizing radiation is taken into account completely. The construction of the model is carried out for the radial distribution of gas density in the nebular envelope which is consistent with isophotal map of the nebula. The application of the model is illustrated on the example of the planetary nebulae BD+30°3639 and NGC 7293. It is shown that the continuum of the central star at 912 Å does not correspond to the blackbody spectrum but agrees with the spectrum of corresponding non-LTE model atmosphere. The radial distributions of electron density, electron temperature, and other parameters in the nebular envelopes are found.The evolution of the radial distribution of gas density in the planetary nebulae envelopes is investigated. Approximative analytical expression which describe both such distribution and its change with time is adjusted. It is shown that the nebular envelope is formed as a result of quiet evolution of the slow stellar wind of star-precursor, and the formation of the envelope begins from the decrease of star-precursor's mass loss rate. Obtained radial distributions of gas density in the envelopes of young nebulae rule out the idea that the planetary nebula is formed as a result of a rapid ejection of clear-cut envelope. So, there is no necessity for the superwind which is used for this purpose in theoretical calculations.A new method of the determination of planetary nebulae abundances is proposed. Unobserved ionization stages are taken into account with aid of the correlations between relative abundances of various ions which had been obtained from the grid of the photoionization models of planetary nebulae luminescence. Simple approximative expressions for the determination of He/H, C/H, N/H, O/H, Ne/H, Mg/H, Si/H, S/H, and Ar/H are found. The chemical composition of 130 Galactic planetary nebulae is revised. A comparative analysis of the abundances in the Galactic disk, bulge, and halo nebulae is carried out.  相似文献

Measurements of the equivalent width of the interstellar Lyman line from IUE spectra in the direction of the planetary nebulae NGC 7009 and BD+30°3639 are used to infer the H column density in these directions. Hydrogen 21 cm profiles are also used in connection with the ultraviolet data so that the expected rotation velocities and distances can be determined. The results are compared with recently published distances, in an attempt to distinguish between the short and long PN distance scales as applied to these objects.  相似文献

SeveralHii regions were observed in the Instituto Argentina de Radioastronomía (IAR) in the H166 line and 1.4 GHz radio continuum. Resulting physical parameters derived from low-frequency (H166 line) and high-frequency (H110, H109, H76 line, made by other authors) observations ofHii regions are compared. Low-frequency derived parameters describe better the low-density ionized gas conditions, whereas high-frequency observations are more sensitive to high density ionized gas located in the central parts of the nebulae.  相似文献

A photoelectric Fabry-Pérot spectrometer is used to record the line profiles of H and [Nii] at 22 points in the nebula. The ratio of intensity H/[Nii] is used to derive an electron temperature distribution with values between 5700° and 9100° showing a peak at the centre of density. These temperatures are compared with the H Doppler temperatures to estimate excess velocities of mass motion. Together with the shifts of the H line centres, these lead to an evaluation of the velocity field in the nebula.It is suggested that the nebula consists of a core expanding at about ±10 km/sec–1 surrounded by a thick peripheral shell in which large scale mass motions are small. Non-thermal broadening suggesting turbulent velocities at about the speed of sound is observed in this shell and is attributed to small scale dynamic effects in a non-smooth density distribution. The effect of such expanding cores on heliocentric velocities of galacticHii regions is discussed.  相似文献

Slitless flash spectrograms in heights below 8000 km above the solar limb were obtained by the University of Kyoto Expedition at Atar, Mauritania. The integrated intensities of Fexiv 5303, Fex 6374, Fexi 7892, and the continuum are measured as a function of height above the solar limb at eleven points (P.A. = 284–300°) around the third contact point. It is found that a significant amount of the emission in Fex 6374 originates in chromospheric levels well below 8000 km. This implies that the interspicular region of the chromosphere is occupied by coronal material. The average values of the electron temperature and the electron density in the interspicular region are derived from the Fex 6374 and the Fexi 7892 intensities on the assumption of spherical symmetry: T e = 0.9–1.1 × 106 K and N e = 9–10 × 108 cm–3. The intensity variations of the coronal lines and the continuum with position angle are also studied. Strong correlations between Fexiv 5303 and the continuum and between Fex 6374 and Fexi 7892 are found. Based on a general planetary theory, the secular perturbations in the motion of the eight major planets (excluding Pluto) have been derived in polynomial form. The results are presented in the tables. The linear terms of second order with respect to the planetary masses and the nonlinear terms of first order up to the fifth (and partly seventh) degree with respect to eccentricities and inclinations were taken into account in the right-hand members of the secular system. Calculations were carried out by computer with the use of a system that performed analytic operations on power series with complex coefficients.

The surface photometry of S254–S257 has been carried out by means of a wide range image processing technique in the reduction system. The photographic plates in the H+[NII] andV-bands are taken with the Schmidt telescope. Especially, we have obtained the calibrated map of theHii region, superposing two or more plates with different exposure times, and removing the star images. Three kinds of calibrated maps of theHii regions are drawn: (1)E-map in the (H+[NII]+continuum) (2)V-map in the continuum atV-band, (3)(E-V)-map in the (H+[NII]) line emission. The intensity profiles across the nebular centers were also obtained. Based on calibrated maps, the morphological structure and mass distribution of S255 and S257 are discussed. The location of observed nebulae on the (m Hm v) diagram, wherem H andm v denote the surface brightness, expressed in the magnitude per square arcmin, is shown together with that of some other nebulae. Some arguements on the age sequence of observedHii regions are presented.  相似文献

A search (using the Infrared Astronomical Satellite IRAS point source catalogue) for infrared counterparts of the fourteen new candidates for planetary nebulae of low surface brightness detected by Hartl and Tritton (1985), resulted in only five identifications. The infrared sources of four of these candidate nebulae are found within 5 are sec of their optical position and the fifth one within 1 are min. Two of the five nebulae identified with infrared sources are classified as true, one as probable and two as possible by Hartl and Tritton (1985). All the five nebulae are found in regions of high cirrus flux at 100 m. These nebulae are all found to have both point sources as well as small size extended sources (in the IRAS scan windows centred on the sources), with numbers varying from field to field. The infrared emission from these nebulae have dust temperatures 100K (characteristic of planetary nebulae). Four of the nebulae appear to be faint in the infrared (just as in the optical band) with total infrared flux of 2×10–13 W m–2. Only the PN candidate No. 12 appears to be very bright in the infrared. It is likely that part of the emission is from extraneous sources in the line-of-sight to the nebula.  相似文献

Sets of theoretical models of spherically symmetrical gaseous nebulae are calculated for a fixed chemical composition and with central star, energy distributions given by Cassinelli (1971) and by Kunasz, Mihalas and Hummer (1975). A central region of constant densityN H=100 cm–3 is surrounded by a broken shell consisting of zones of different density and optical thickness. It is found that for a fixed chemical composition and central star flux, a considerable range can be found in the emitted fluxes of certain lines such as 4686 which are often used to fix the level of excitation of a nebula. Although it is possible to produce models yielding a variety of nebular line ratios in this way, these truncated inhomogeneous shell models have not reproduced the integrated spectra of nebulae that simultaneously show extreme features of high and low excitation with great strength-e.g. [Nii], [Oii] and 4686 Heii.  相似文献

A number of criteria are elaborated based on the careful analysis of nebulae images which confirm the version of the origin of double-envelope planetary nebulae by means of dynamical separation but not by multiple ejection. The importance of stellar winds in the origin of the gigantic halos around double envelope nebulae is outlined. The problem concerning the existence of two types of filamentary planetary nebulae (Figure 8) is raised: type A, filaments are the fragmentations of the Rayleigh-Taylor instability, the result of dynamical interaction of the envelope with the outer interstellar matter (NGC 6543), and type B, the origin of filaments is connected with the Magnetic field fluctuations (A 43, A 72).The possibility of the origin of three-envelope nebulae in the framework of the dynamic separation version is discussed (NGC 7293). Attention is paid to the impossibility of outbursts with low velocities (20–30 km s–1) from hot stars, i.e., the nuclei of nebulae.  相似文献

Three southern planetary nebulae (NGC 2818, He 2-130, and NGC 3132) have been observed with the IDS (Image Dessector Scanner) combined with the Boller and Chivens spectrograph mounted at the Cassegrain focus of the 1.52 m telescope of the ESO in Chile. The spectrograph dispersion was 60 Å mm–1 in the spectral range 6170–7298 Å. The slit aperture was 4×4. Spectra were obtained from an array of positions across each nebula along the E-W direction and/or N-S direction. The data reduction followed the standard IHAP routines for IDS observations. In order to derive electron density, only the [Sii] lines (6617 Å–6731 Å) are given in this paper. The results are in agreement with a shell structure for the observed nebulae.

We have obtained low noise (S/N > 103), high spectral resolution (/ 10 6) observations of two pure rotation transitions of OH from the solar photosphere. The observations were obtained using the technique of optically null-balanced infrared heterodyne spectroscopy, and consist of center-to-limb line profiles of a = 1 and a = 0 transition near 12 m. These lines should be formed in local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE), and are diagnostics of the thermal structure of the upper photosphere. We find that the = 0R22(24.5)e line strengthens at the solar limb, in contradiction to the predictions of current one-dimensional photospheric models. Our data for this line support a two-dimensional model in which horizontal thermal fluctuations of order ±800 K occur in the region 5000 10–3–10–2. This thermal bifurcation may be maintained by the presence of magnetic flux tubes, and may be related to the solar limb extensions observed in the 30–200 m region.Observations of the = 1R11(29.5)f line, at 885.643 cm–1, show that it is anomalously weak in the photospheric spectrum. We argue that the source function in the core of this line has been substantially increased by interaction with the 9j-7i transition of Mgi at 885.524 cm–1, which is itself too weak to appear in the disk center spectrum.Visiting Astronomer, Kitt Peak National Observatory, which is operated by the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, under contract with the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

CCD narrow band imagery of the southern barred spiral NGC 613 has been obtained in the light of H, H, [Oiii] 5007 Å, [Oii] (3726+29) Å and continua at 3765, 5230, and 6500 Å. Absolute fluxes have been obtained for the lines H and [Oiii] 5007 Å and continua at 5230 and 6500 Å. Distribution of ages, monochromatic colour vs absolute brightness and [Oiii]/H are discussed.  相似文献

A one-zone model for the late time SN II energized by the radioactive decay56Ni–56Co–56Fe is presented. The model succeeds in reproducing for the late time evolution of H and [Oi] 6300 emission lines in SN1970g for the reasonable set of parameters: mass of ejecta 4M , boundary velocityv 0=4000 km s–1 and amount of56NiM Ni=0.02M . However, a one-zone model does not account for the late time continuum. In the case of SN1980k the radioactive model fits H and [Oi] 6300 emissions att250 day satisfactory but fails at very late time, e.g.,t=670 day when the predicted value of the ratioL(H)/L(6300) is two orders of magnitude smaller than the observed one. We suggest that the strong H emission in SN1980k on the 670th day is due to the interaction of the supernova envelope with the pre-SN wind. The radioactive model for the late time SN II predicts strong Mgii 2800 line and detectable Hei 10830 line in emission and absorption.  相似文献

We present the seventh list of stars of the late M and C spectral classes taken from the plates of the First Byurakan Spectral Sky Survey (FBS). Data on 24 objects, 2 of which are carbon stars of early subclasses (R-stars), are given for the first time. The spectral membership of two known stars is established. A re-interpretation is offered for both the galactic center lobe and the high-velocity clouds in the galactic halo: the galactic center lobe is a 2-sided chimney for relativistic pair plasma emerging from the center of the Milky Way (=Sag A*) and streaming as 2 jets through the halo. A possibility of developing the analytical theory of perturbed motion for a balloon-satellite influenced by solar radiation pressure force is analysed here on the basis of the limit case modification of the two fixed centers problem whose force-field is a superposition of the Newtonian central field and a homogeneous one. Such an approach enables us in the intermediate orbit already to take into account the effect of a constant force, all coordinates of a satellite being expressed as functions of some monotonically increasing variable by means of inversion of elliptic quadratures. The relations between canonical constants of the intermediate orbit and a quasikeplerian elements coinciding in the absence of solar radiation pressure with keplerian ones are derived. The numerical results and illustrating the perturbations in the radius-vector of the intermediate orbit of a balloon-satellite of the Echo-I type are given.
