沱沱河盆地是冻土天然气水合物潜在分布区之一,其内发育下—中二叠统开心岭群九十道班组、上二叠统乌丽群那益雄组、上三叠统结扎群巴贡组、中—渐新统雅西措组4套烃源岩以及不同类型的火山岩。研究表明,火山岩岩石类型主要为玄武岩、玄武安山岩、安山岩、玄武质粗面安山岩和粗面安山岩。火山岩主量元素低TiO_2,Al_2O_3含量较高,K_2O含量较低,K_2ONa_2O;火山岩的稀土元素配分模式为轻稀土富集型;微量元素配分模式呈锯齿状,Ta、Nb、P_2O_5、TiO_2、Y、Yb以及铁族元素Sc、Cr、Ni亏损,综合判断青海南部沱沱河地区火山岩形成于岛弧环境。结合火山岩的地球化学特征,推断火山活动可以加快烃源岩的热成熟,进而促使有机质裂解,产生热解气,为水合物的生成提供气源条件。同时,火山岩的气孔构造发育,连通性较好,有可能成为水合物的储层。火山热液具有的高压使周围的烃源岩产生裂隙,这些裂隙不仅是水合物气源的运移通道,还可以为水合物提供形成场所和储存空间。  相似文献

The Tanami Region, a poorly exposed, mostly Paleoproterozoic province within the North Australian Craton, hosts a number of significant gold deposits in diverse settings. Rare exposures of 2,520–2,500 Ma amphibolite facies Archean gneiss and metasedimentary rocks form basement to the thick overlying metasedimentary succession of the 1,880–1,830 Ma Tanami Group. The basal unit of the Tanami Group is the Dead Bullock Formation, a fining-upward deep-water succession dominated by siltstone, carbonaceous siltstone, iron-rich siltstone and mafic sills. Carbonaceous- and iron-rich lithologies in the upper Dead Bullock Formation represent important hosts for gold mineralization. The conformably overlying Killi Killi Formation represents turbiditic sedimentary rocks that are correlated with the widespread Lander Rock beds of the Arunta Region. Sedimentation of the Tanami Group was terminated by regional deformation and greenschist to amphibolite facies metamorphism during the Tanami Event (D1/M1), at around 1,830 Ma. The Tanami Group is unconformably overlain by rhyolite, siliciclastic sedimentary rocks, and felsic ignimbrite of the Ware Group that were deposited at about 1,825–1,810 Ma. Subsequent ESE–WNW to SE–NW directed shortening (D2), followed by NE–SW to E–W directed shortening (D3), has resulted in open NE F2- and NW F3-trending folds in both the Tanami and Ware Groups. Voluminous granitoids, dominated by I-type, biotite granodiorite, and monzogranite were intruded in the interval 1,825–1,790 Ma and have been subdivided using geochemical criteria into the Birthday, Frederick, and Grimwade Suites. Basalt and immature sedimentary rocks of the Mount Charles Formation are restricted in extent to the Tanami mine corridor, and are interpreted to reflect a continental rift succession that was deposited around 1,800 Ma, with an early Archean sedimentary provenance. Steep S to SE dipping F4-fold structures of Tanami and Ware Group metasedimentary rocks, many spatially associated with 1,825–1,790 Ma granitoid intrusions, indicate a period of SSE-directed regional shortening (D4) syn-to-post the regional granitoid intrusive phase. A network of N to NW striking faults, several of which are interpreted as oblique thrusts with a component of left lateral movement, indicates a period of D5 convergence during WSW–ENE to E–W directed shortening. The Tanami mine corridor fault system comprises a network of N, NE to ENE striking D5 faults that merge with N to NW striking faults and probably accommodated movement between granite core domains. D5 faulting is associated with the main phase of gold mineralization in suitable structural–lithological traps. The Paleoproterozoic basement of the Tanami Region is unconformably overlain by quartz sandstone, lithic arenite, and conglomerate of the Pargee Sandstone. Pargee Sandstone may represent syn-tectonic sedimentation related to the 1,730 Ma Strangways Orogeny, and is unconformably overlain by the late Paleoproterozoic platform cover succession of the Birrindudu Group. The Paleoproterozoic basement and cover sequences have subsequently undergone several episodes of faulting, collectively termed D6+. The Paleoproterozoic evolution of the Tanami Region is interpreted to have occurred in an intracratonic setting, but was fundamentally influenced by tectonic events in the adjacent Halls Creek Orogen (1,835–1,805 Ma Halls Creek Orogeny) and Arunta Region (1,815–1,800 Ma Stafford Event). The boundaries between the Tanami Region and Kimberley Region to the northwest and the Arunta Region to the southeast are transitional, and are largely defined by the presence or absence of identifiable Dead Bullock Formation.  相似文献

扎雪石英二长斑岩体分布于冈底斯岩浆弧带的中段,侵入于前奥陶系松多岩群和石炭-二叠系来姑组中,并被帕那组火山岩呈火山沉积不整合覆盖,其黑云母K-Ar年龄值为54.42Ma,时代为始新世。岩石学和岩石化学特征:ω(SiO2)=67.04%~69.75%、ω(Al2O3)=14.85%~16.75%、ω(TiO2)=0.45%~0.53%、ω(K2O Na2O)=9.64%~10.28%、ω(K2O/Na2O)=1.8~1.97,表明扎雪石英二长斑岩体为酸性钾玄质浅成侵入岩。它与冈底斯带上广泛发育的林子宗群年波组火山同时异相,形成于印度板块和欧亚板块后碰撞阶段,成为大洋俯冲体制向大陆碰撞体制转换的岩石记录。  相似文献

Early Carboniferous volcanic rocks in the Batamayineishan Formation overlie unconformably the molasse deposits and the ophiolitic mélanges and are restricted in narrow zones along both sides of the Kalamaili orogenic belt in North Xinjiang, southern Central Asian Orogenic Belt. These rocks demonstrate the post-collisional setting in East Junggar commenced in Tournaisian and also mark an important transitional period from the final amalgamation to late Paleozoic voluminous juvenile granitoids in East Junggar. The volcanic rocks are composed of basalt, basaltic andesite, andesite, trachyte and rhyolite. Both mafic and felsic rocks are characterized by enrichments in large ion lithophile elements, light rare earth elements and depletion in Nb and Ta, low initial 87Sr/86Sr and high, positive ɛNd(t). Three groups of mafic rocks have been identified: Shoshonitic group 1 has the highest MgO, CaO, Ni and Cr and the lowest Na2O, Al2O3, La, Ba, La/Yb and Ba/Th with primary magma features; group 2 calc-alkaline and high-K calc-alkaline mafic rocks have the lowest K2O, P2O5, Th and Th/Nb, and the highest TiO2; and group 3 (shoshonitic to potassic alkaline) has the highest K2O, P2O5, La, Ba, La/Yb and Th/Nb, and the lowest TiO2. The A-type-like felsic rocks were derived from the differentiation of the mafic magma. Geological and geochemical evidences indicate that the Batamayineishan Formation was generated from the process of slab breakoff (detachment). Group 1 samples are produced by decompressional melting of the upwelling asthenosphere mainly composed of spinel and garnet (50:50) lherzolite which has been enriched by overlying metasomatized lithosphere during ascent. Group 2 is derived from 5–10% partial melting of shallower spinel-bearing lithospheric mantle induced by the hot rising asthenosphere, where the contribution of slab-derived fluid is predominant. Low partial melting (3–5%) of the mantle wedge and/or thickened lithospheric mantle enriched by slab-derived components generates group 3. Slab breakoff as an important geodynamic process accounts for the post-collisional magmatism between 343.5 Ma–330 Ma, providing a model for post-collisional crust–mantle interaction in the CAOB.  相似文献

本文对青藏高原羌北-昌都地块阿布日阿加措地区的晚二叠世那益雄组火山岩进行了年代学和地球化学研究。该火山岩主要由玄武岩、安山玄武岩、安山岩、流纹岩、凝灰岩组成,具有碱性玄武岩到酸性熔岩的特征。锆石U-Pb年代学研究表明该火山岩的形成时代为251. 1±4. 8~249. 6±1. 3 Ma之间。地球化学分析结果表明,该地区的流纹岩具有高的Si O2(74. 85%~77. 55%)和Na2O+K2O(5. 40%~6. 61%)含量,较低的MgO、K2O和Ca O含量,Al2O3含量低且稳定,里特曼指数平均为1. 15,小于3. 3。安山岩Si O2含量55. 13%~56. 28%,Na2O+K2O含量4. 13%~6. 15%,里特曼指数平均为2. 20,小于3. 3,属于钙碱性安山岩。碱性玄武岩Si O2含量51. 49%,Na2O+K2O含量6. 34%,里特曼指数为4. 73,属于碱性系列。稀土元素配分曲线为富集LREE的右倾型。另外,富集大离子亲石元素(LILE) Th、U,亏损高场强元素(HFSE) Nb、Ta等特征,均说明羌北-昌都地块阿布日阿加措地区的火山岩形成于陆缘岛弧环境。  相似文献

北京西山地区分布着大量的髫髻山组火山岩,区域上髫髻山组被东岭台组角度不整合覆盖。西山地区火山岩样品的主要氧化物含量变化范围比较大,如: SiO2=51.94%~77.30%,Al2O3=12.85%~19.17%,Na2O=1.65%~5.82%,K2O=0.83%~4.52%,Fe2O3 =0.95%~9.30%,CaO=0.13%~7.08%,且主要氧化物的含量与SiO2具有线性相关关系。同时,这些火山岩具有LREE富集、HREE明显亏损、Eu异常不明显、高的Sr,Ba 含量和Sr/ Y,La/Yb 比值等特征。火山岩的钕同位素成分变化大,且相当富集(εNd=-11~-17),都分布在古老下地壳和富集地幔之间, 因此推断北京西山地区髫髻山组火山岩和东岭台组火山岩的形成与富集地幔起源的基性岩浆与古老下地壳组分相互作用有关。  相似文献

辽宁省辽阳地区出露有大面积的古元古代辽河群地层,在辽河群里尔峪组及高家峪组中识别出一套酸性火山岩。本文通过对酸性火山岩同位素年代学及地球化学研究,用以限定辽河群形成时代,并进一步探讨其形成的动力学背景。这套酸性火山岩岩性包括流纹岩、变流纹质含角砾凝灰岩、角岩化流纹岩和弱硅化流纹岩,对其中6件样品利用LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb方法测年。CL图像显示辽河群酸性火山岩中的锆石均具典型的岩浆振荡环带结构和较高的Th/U比值,显示为岩浆锆石。锆石U-Pb年龄可分为3期:2190~2180Ma、2110~2100Ma、1970~1960Ma,结合其中存在继承锆石的结果认为辽河群至少存在3期岩浆活动,将辽河群形成时代限制于2.19~1.96Ga,其形成时代大约持续了230Myr左右。野外接触关系的观察及酸性火山岩的年代学特征从另一个方面揭露辽河群总体为一套无序、局部有序的构造地层,各岩组间不存在上下关系。前人研究表明"辽吉花岗岩"形成年龄为2.16Ga,通过野外观察其与辽河群之间均为构造接触。D1442-1和D1444-2两个样品锆石U-Pb测年结果为2180±12Ma、2190±13Ma,均略早于"辽吉花岗岩",结合其与辽河群野外关系,认为"辽吉花岗岩"应该不是作为沉积基底,而是与辽河群为同一构造运动的产物。辽河群流纹岩Al_2O_3含量16.33%~16.90%,K_2O含量4.62%~4.77%,K_2O+Na_2O含量5.97%~7.54%,含铝指数(A/CNK)比较高为1.27~1.50,为过铝质岩石,显示富铝、高钾特征。此外流纹岩轻稀土富集,重稀土亏损,轻重稀土分馏明显,具有明显的负铕异常,亏损Ba、Sr、Ti,较高的Zr及(Zr+Nb+Ce+Y)含量、10000Ga/Al比值等特点都显示为A型花岗岩,说明其形成于地壳减薄环境。本文在辽河群中识别出一套酸性火山岩与前人在南辽河群识别出的变质流纹岩组成了酸性端元(2201~1960Ma),同时期存在的基性火成岩(2198~1869Ma)为基性端元,证明了辽河群"双峰式火山岩"的存在,暗示辽河群形成于伸展拉张环境。  相似文献

The volcanic-hosted graphite deposit at Borrowdale in Cumbria, UK, was formed through precipitation from C-O-H fluids. The δ13C data indicate that carbon was incorporated into the mineralizing fluids by assimilation of carbonaceous metapelites of the Skiddaw Group by andesite magmas of the Borrowdale Volcanic Group. The graphite mineralization occurred as the fluids migrated upwards through normal conjugate fractures forming the main subvertical pipe-like bodies. The mineralizing fluids evolved from CO2-CH4-H2O mixtures (XCO2 = 0.6-0.8) to CH4-H2O mixtures. Coevally with graphite deposition, the andesite and dioritic wall rocks adjacent to the veins were intensely hydrothermally altered to a propylitic assemblage. The initial graphite precipitation was probably triggered by the earliest hydration reactions in the volcanic host rocks. During the main mineralization stage, graphite precipitated along the pipe-like bodies due to CO2 → C + O2. This agrees with the isotopic data which indicate that the first graphite morphologies crystallizing from the fluid (cryptocrystalline aggregates) are isotopically lighter than those crystallizing later (flakes). Late chlorite-graphite veins were formed from CH4-enriched fluids following the reaction CH4 + O2 → C + 2H2O, producing the successive precipitation of isotopically lighter graphite morphologies. Thus, as mineralization proceeded, water-generating reactions were involved in graphite precipitation, further favouring the propylitic alteration. The structural features of the pipe-like mineralized bodies as well as the isotopic homogeneity of graphite suggest that the mineralization occurred in a very short period of time.  相似文献

甘肃景泰一带早奥陶世沉积了以浊流砂岩夹板岩为主的阴沟组。崔家墩剖面阴沟组较为发育,总体分为两个岩性段,但东西向逆冲断层造成地层垂向不连续。北段(下段)为粉-细砂岩、板岩夹硅质岩;南段(上段)为岩屑含量较多的岩屑砂岩夹板岩,硅质岩少或无。对阴沟组砂岩进行主化学组分特征分析,其特征指标:Fe2O*3+MgO值为503%~17.63%,Al2O3/SiO2值为0.12%~0.28%,K2O/Na2O值为0.25%~1.26%及 Al2O3/(CaO+Na2O)值为1.01%~3.53%。利用砂岩的化学组分特征结合岩相学分析,可以判断物源区特征及大地构造背景。研究表明:该套浊积砂岩下部物源主要来自北部的阿拉善地块及该地块上的古老造山带,为被动大陆边缘背景;上部碎屑主要来自南侧岛弧中基性火山岩,为活动大陆边缘初始弧后盆地构造背景。  相似文献

In western Nevada, the Black Dyke Formation includes volcanic rocks overlain conformably by volcaniclastic sediments. At the base, hornblende-phyric basalts with cognate hornblende-bearing gabbroic cumulates are interbedded with tuffs and pyroclastic breccia. Amphiboles give 40Ar/39Ar ages of 276 Ma. Clinopyroxene-phyric pillow basalts and plagioclase-phyric andesitic lava flows are present higher in the section. Facies changes between exposures reflect development near volcanic centers.According to our investigations, the Black Dyke Formation is involved in east-west-trending folds overturned toward the south, and overlain unconformably by the Mesozoic Dunlap Formation, which unconformably overlies the Mississippian-Permian Mina Formation. Interpreted until now as tectonic slices within the Luning allochthon, we suggest that the Black Dyke Formation is part of the Sonoma allochthon associated with the Mina Formation. The Sonoma records closure of the Havallah basin (Golconda allochthon), and collision of an arctrench system with the North American margin.The Black Dyke Formation exhibits similarities with the Permian arc sequence of the northern Sierra Nevada. Both sequences are characterized by amphibole-bearing breccias, clinopyroxene-phyric pillow-basalts, plagioclase-phyric andesites and overlying volcaniclastic sediments. These sequences developed in the same geodynamic environment (an islandarc).  相似文献

The Early Devonian Bindook Volcanic Complex consists of a thick silicic volcanic and associated sedimentary succession filling the extensional Wollondilly Basin in the northeastern Lachlan Fold Belt. The basal part of the succession (Tangerang Formation) is exposed in the central and southeastern Wollondilly Basin where it unconformably overlies Ordovician rocks or conformably overlies the Late Silurian to Early Devonian Bungonia Limestone. Six volcanic members, including three new members, are now recognised in the Tangerang Formation and three major facies have been delineated in the associated sedimentary sequence. The oldest part of the sequence near Windellama consists of a quartz turbidite facies deposited at moderate water depths together with the shallow‐marine shelf Windellama Limestone and Brooklyn Conglomerate Members deposited close to the eastern margin of the basin. Farther north the shelf facies consists of marine shale and sandstone which become progressively more tuffaceous northwards towards Marulan. The Devils Pulpit Member (new unit) is a shallow‐marine volcaniclastic unit marking the first major volcanic eruptions in the region. The overlying shallow‐marine sedimentary facies is tuffaceous in the north, contains a central Ordovician‐derived quartzose (?deltaic) facies and a predominantly mixed facies farther south. The initial volcanism occurred in an undefined area north of Marulan. A period of non‐marine exposure, erosion and later deposition of quartzose rocks marked a considerable break in volcanic activity. Volcanism recommenced with the widespread emplacement of the Kerillon Tuff Member (new unit), a thick, non‐welded rhyolitic ignimbrite followed by dacitic welded ignimbrite and air‐fall tuff produced by a large magnitude eruption leading to caldera collapse in the central part of the Bindook Volcanic Complex, together with an additional small eruptive centre near Lumley Park. The overlying Kerrawarra Dacite Member (new unit) is lava‐like in character but it also has the dimensions of an ignimbrite and covers a large part of the central Bindook Volcanic Complex. The Carne Dacite Member is interpreted as a series of subvolcanic intrusions including laccoliths, cryptodomes and sills. The Tangerang Formation is overlain by the extensive crystal‐rich Joaramin Ignimbrite (new unit) that was erupted from an undefined centre in the central or northern Bindook Volcanic Complex. The volcanic units at Wombeyan and the Kowmung Volcaniclastics in the northwestern part of the complex are probably lateral time‐equivalents of the Tangerang Formation and Joaramin Ignimbrite. All three successions pre‐date the major subaerial volcanic plateau‐forming eruptions represented by the Barrallier Ignimbrite (new unit). The latter post‐dated folding and an extensive erosional phase, and unconformably overlies many of the older units in the Bindook Volcanic Complex. This ignimbrite was probably erupted from a large caldera in the northern part of the complex and probably represents surface expressions of part of the intruding Marulan Batholith. The final volcanic episode is represented by the volcanic units at Yerranderie which formed around a crater at the northern end of the exposed Bindook Volcanic Complex.  相似文献

According to our investigations, the Black Dyke Formation is involved in east–west-trending folds overturned toward the south, and overlain unconformably by the Mesozoic Dunlap Formation, which unconformably overlies the Mississippian–Permian Mina Formation. Interpreted until now as tectonic slices within the Luning allochthon, we suggest that the Black Dyke Formation is part of the Sonoma allochthon associated with the Mina Formation. The Sonoma records closure of the Havallah basin (Golconda allochthon), and collision of an arc- trench system with the North American margin.

The Black Dyke Formation exhibits similarities with the Permian arc sequence of the northern Sierra Nevada. 四堡群为一套出露于桂北黔东南地区、变形强烈的浅变质、陆源碎屑岩火山岩、系,厚度大于5000 m,其下未见底,上被丹洲群(下江群相当地层)所覆盖。桂北四堡群自下而上划分为九小组、文通组和鱼西组3组。样品A20140731-3采自于文通组,岩性为灰绿色熔结火山岩,首次分选出600余粒岩浆型锆石,完成SHRIMP U-Pb定年测点15个,获得加权平均年龄(860±13)Ma。这表明四堡群主体属于新元古界,进而分析、讨论了江南造山带主要地层对比关系。  相似文献

对内蒙古阿巴嘎旗甘珠音敖包地区中生代火山岩进行了锆石U-Pb测年和岩石地球化学研究,对其形成时代、岩石成因及构造背景给予制约。研究区主要发育中生代满克头鄂博组酸性火山岩和梅勒图组中性火山岩。LA-ICP-MS锆石U-Pb同位素定年结果显示,2组火山岩形成年龄分别为163.6±0.6Ma和139.6Ma±0.7Ma。岩石地球化学研究表明,满克头鄂博组酸性火山岩为碱性系列,具有高硅、富碱、低TFeO、Al_2O_3、TiO_2、MgO、CaO和Na_2O的特征,轻稀土元素富集、重稀土元素亏损、轻重稀土元素分馏明显,Eu强烈亏损,大离子亲石元素Rb、Th、K明显富集,Ba、Sr明显亏损,高场强元素Nb、Ta、P、Ti强烈亏损,具有A型花岗岩特点,形成于陆壳岩石的部分熔融。梅勒图组中性火山岩亦为碱性系列岩石,富碱、富钠、贫钾,高Al2O3、TiO2、MgO,贫CaO,LREE富集,HREE亏损,轻重稀土元素分馏明显,具微弱的负Eu异常,富集大离子亲石元素(LILEs)Rb、Ba、Th、U、K等,亏损高场强元素Nb、Ta、Ti、Y、Yb、Lu等,来源于下地壳镁铁质岩石部分熔融。结合岩石学及该地区构造背景特征,认为满克头鄂博组和梅勒图组火山岩可能形成于蒙古-鄂霍茨克的俯冲作用导致的大兴安岭西坡—冀北—辽西地区加厚陆壳坍塌或拆沉作用的伸展环境。  相似文献

The upper Kaimur Group (UKG) of the Vindhyan Supergroup in central India, primarily consists of three rock types-Dhandraul sandstone, Scarp sandstone and Bijaigarh shale. The present study aims to reconstruct the parent rock assemblages, their tectonic provenance, mineralogy, weathering intensity, hydraulic sorting and depositional tectonic setting. Samples from the UKG rocks representing the Dhandraul sandstone, Scarp sandstone and Bijaigarh shale were studied using a combination of petrographic, mineralogical, and geochemical techniques. Texturally, medium to coarse grained UKG sandstones are mature and moderate to well sorted. Deficiency of feldspars in these sandstones indicates that the rocks are extensively recycled from distant sources. Their average modal composition for Scarp (avg. Qt99 F0.2L0.8) and Dhandraul (avg. Qt99 F0.1L0.8) sandstones, classifies them as quartz arenite to sub-litharenite types, which is consistent with geochemical study. Major element concentrations revealed that sandstones have high SiO2, K2O < Na2O, and low Fe2O3, which are supported by the modal data. On the other hand, sandstone samples are enriched in most trace elements such as Ce, Sr, V, Sc and Zr and depleted in U and Th. The CIA values (43.17–76.48) of the UKG rocks indicate low to moderate weathering, either of the original source or during transport before deposition, which may have related to low-relief and humid climatic conditions in the source area. Further, petrographic and geochemical interpretations indicate that they are derived from craton interior to quartzose recycled sedimentary rocks and deposited in a passive continental margin. Therefore, granitic and low grade metamorphic rocks of Mahakoshal Group and Chotanagpur granite-gneiss, situated on the southern and south-eastern side of the Vindhyan basin are suggested as possible provenance for the UKG rocks.  相似文献

The Rocklands Rhyolite is a latest Silurian to Early Devonian sequence of silicic ignimbrite, lava, volcanic sedimentary rocks and dykes in western Victoria. These volcanic rocks lie west of the Grampians Ranges, which consist of a thick succession of quartz sandstone of presumed Silurian age called the Grampians Group. The previously unresolved stratigraphic relationship between these two sequences of rocks is clarified by an exposed contact between steeply dipping Grampians Group cut by quartz veins, and overlying undeformed rhyolite. The implications of this relationship are that the Grampians Group is older than the Rocklands Rhyolite and that parts of the sandstone succession were locally deformed prior to volcanism. Furthermore, other outlying areas of sandstone and rhyolite, previously correlated with the Grampians Group and Rocklands Rhyolite, respectively, display different timing relationships and are proposed to be significantly younger.  相似文献

The present study examines the provenance of the Jurassic Ashikita Group distributed in south‐west Japan, which is composed of the Idenohana, Kyodomari and Sakamoto Formations. Two geochemical diagrams for provenance analysis were utilized, which incorporate full consideration of compositional modifications resulting from weathering (MFW diagram) and hydraulic sorting processes (SiO2/Al2O3–Na2O/K2O diagram). The MFW diagram delineates weathering trends of sedimentary rocks and allows estimation of the original source rock composition by tracing the weathering trends backwards to an unweathered domain. Weathering trends of the Idenohana and Kyodomari Formations extend backward to the domain of intermediate and felsic igneous rocks. In contrast, sediments of the Sakamoto Formation do not fit into a linear weathering trend, indicating that the source rock cannot be approximated to igneous rocks. On the SiO2/Al2O3–Na2O/K2O diagram, sediments are organized into compositional trends, in which the range reflects compositional variations induced by the hydraulic sorting effect. On this diagram, sediments derived from the igneous and recycled sedimentary provenances can be distinguished by reading the inclination of the trend. By utilizing this principle, source rocks of the Idenohana and Kyodomari Formations are interpreted as igneous rocks and those of the Sakamoto Formation are interpreted as recycled sedimentary rocks. Therefore, these diagrams concurrently estimate the source rock composition through quantifying and adjusting the weathering and sorting effects, and reveal a systematic transition in the provenance of the Ashikita Group. The Idenohana and Kyodomari Formations were supplied chiefly from an igneous provenance, which shifted from intermediate to felsic compositions in stratigraphic order. Whereas, sediments of the Sakamoto Formation were sourced primarily from a recycled sedimentary provenance.  相似文献

Analyses of young volcanic rocks from the New Hebrides reveal the existence of two geochemical groups which may be identified on the basis of their contents of K2O and related trace elements. Low K2O rocks are believed to be comparable with conventional island arc volcanism, whereas the high K2O rocks are believed to be related to volcanism associated with tensional rifting. By comparison with high pressure experimental data it is concluded that these rocks can be derived by partial melting of hydrous mantle above the Benioff zone. However this mantle must have different concentrations of incompatible elements from the source of ocean ridge tholeiites, and residual minerals must have RE partition coefficients which differ from those of phenocrysts in volcanic rocks.  相似文献

A stratigraphically coherent blueschist terrane near Aksu in northwestern China is unconformably overlain by unmetamorphosed sedimentary rocks of Sinian age (~600 to 800 Ma). The pre-Sinian metamorphic rocks, termed the Aksu Group, were derived from shales, sandstones, basaltic volcanic rocks, and minor cherty sediments. They have undergone multi-stage deformation and transitional blueschist/greenschist-facies metamorphism, and consist of strongly foliated chlorite-stilpnomelane-graphite schist, stilpnomelane-phengite psammitic schist, greenschist, blueschist, and minor quartzite, metachert, and meta-ironstone. Metamorphic minerals of basaltic blueschists include crossitic amphibole, epidote, chlorite, albite, quartz, and actinolite. Mineral parageneses and compositions of sodic amphibole suggest blueschist facies recrystallization at about 4 to 6 kbar and 300 to 400° C. Many thin diabasic dikes cut the Aksu Group; they are characterized by high alkali, TiO2, and P2O5 contents and possess geochemical characteristics of within-plate basalts; some of these diabasic rocks contain sodic clinopyroxene and amphibole as primary phases and have minor pumpellyite, albite, epidote, chlorite, and calcite as the prehnite/pumpellyite-facies metamorphic assemblage. This prehnite/pumpellyite-facies overprint did not affect the host rocks of the blueschist-facies lithologies.

K-Ar and Rb-Sr ages of phengite and whole rocks from pelitic schists are ~690 to 728 Ma, and a 40Ar/39Ar age of crossite from the blueschist is 754 Ma. The basal conglomerate of the overlying Sinian to Eocambrian sedimentary succession contains clasts of both the blueschist and cross-cutting dike rocks, clearly demonstrating that conditions required for blueschist-facies metamorphism were attained and ceased at least 700 Ma. The northward-increasing metamorphic grade of the small blueschist terrane may reflect northward subduction of an accretionary complex beyond the northern edge of the Tarim craton. Abundant subparallel diabasic dikes indicate a subsequent period of Pre-Sinian rifting and diabasic intrusion along the northern margin of Tarim; a Sinian siliciclastic and carbonate sequence was deposited unconformably atop the Aksu Group and associated diabase dikes.  相似文献
