第十九届国际电磁感应学术讨论会会后学术研讨会于2008年10月31日～11月4日在四川成都理工大学召开

第十九届国际地球电磁感应学术讨论会于2008年10月23日～29日在北京召开,这次会议由IAGA及其所属的1-2国际电磁工作委员会主办,会议遵循IUGG“致力于振兴和推广地球和环境研究,并特别注重年轻一代的培养和前沿科学的发展”的宗旨,于2008年10月23日～29日由中国地球物理学会地球电磁专业委员会在北京召开,来自全球48个国家的近600位专家和学者与会。会议总结了两年来地球电磁领域所获得的阶段性成果,讨论了学术界目前关心的地球电磁研究中的热点问题,展示了我国地球电磁科学在资源、环境和地球动力学等领域的应用成果。     

第9届国际遗迹组构专题研讨会综述*

第9届国际遗迹组构专题研讨会于2007年8月13—18日在加拿大卡尔加里大学召开。从会议报告、展板、论文摘要集和野外地质考察可以看出:自1983年遗迹组构概念提出以来,一些新思维、新方法的应用极大地拓宽了遗迹学的研究领域,其已经被广泛应用到地层学和沉积学的诸多领域,并随着油气的勘探与开发得到了迅速发展。海相、陆相遗迹组构分析及其在储集层沉积环境和高分辨率层序地层学精细研究中的应用仍然是当前遗迹学的主题,遗迹组构的CT成像技术和三维可视化模拟在地下水勘查和油气勘探中正在发挥越来越大的作用。     

19^th Himalaya-Karakoram-Tibet Workshop

The 19^th Himalaya-Karakoram-Tibet Workshop (HKT19), as an annual international workshop devoted to presentations of new research findings in the Earth sciences and related disciplines from the Himalaya-Karakoram-Tibet (HKT) region and discussion on the burning issues, was held in Niseko, a famous ski resort in Hokkaido,Japan. The HKT19 Organizing Committee hosted the workshop together with two 21^st Century Center of Excellence Programs,namely, COE for the “Neo-Science of Natural History” (Hokkaido University, Project Leader: H. Okada), COE for “Dynamics of the Sun-Earth-Life Interactive System”,(Nagoya University, Project Leader: T.Yasunari), and the Division of Earth and Planetary Sciences, Hokkaido University,     

International Eclogite Field Symposium and Workshop of the Task Force IV, International Lithosphere Program

The 2007 International Eclogite Field Sym- posium held in Portree, Isle of Skye, Scotland from June 29th to July 6th was a joint meeting of the International Eclogite Confer- ence, International Lithosphere Program Task Force IV ＂Ultra-deep Continental Crust Subduction＂, and the Metamorphic Studies Group. The Symposium consisted of two days of conference sessions and inter-, pre- and post-conference field excursions. The thematic conference included two sessions,
