南设得兰群岛位于德雷克海峡南侧, 南经布兰斯菲尔德海峡与南极半岛相望。该区域一直是南大洋海洋学研究的热点区域, 近些年已成为南极磷虾渔业的重要作业区。透光层作为海洋生物活动最为集中的区域, 也是海洋中生产力最为丰富的区域。了解透光层水团的特性及变化, 一方面可为南极半岛海洋学研究提供基础信息, 同时也可为南极磷虾等中上层海洋生物的分布及其致因提供科学支撑。通过分析2013年1月至3月南设得兰群岛周边海域5个断面的透光层温、盐数据, 本研究梳理了该区域的水团属性和分布。结果显示, 南设得兰群岛北侧较深水区水团垂向结构明显, 由上至下依次为南极夏季表层水、冬季水和绕极深层水。位于南设得兰群岛南侧的布兰斯菲尔德海峡内, 威德尔海过渡水特征几乎占据了整个布兰斯菲尔德海峡。但布兰斯菲尔德海峡西南侧水团结构较为复杂, 包括了威德尔海过渡水、别林斯高晋海过渡水和德雷克海峡水等。阐明南设得兰群岛周边复杂的水团结构对于进一步开展南大洋生物-物理相互作用研究具有重要的科学意义。  相似文献

Phytoplankton-bacteria relationship in the Antarctic marine ecosystem   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Time series data of phytoplanktonic and bacterial biomass during the ice retreat period at different latitudes in the Weddell Sea and Prydz Bay areas show a distinct delay in the development of bacteria with respect to phy'oplankton. Use of a general ecophysiological model of bacterial growth, along with direct in situ measurements of growth and mortality rates, allowed the simulation of the observed timing of bacterial development. It is suggested that the uncoupling between phytoplanktonic and bacterial development at the earliest stage of the spring ice-edge related algal bloom is not the result of the low temperatures occurring in the Southern Ocean but rather is due to the macromolecular nature of the dissolved organic matter released from phytoplankton.  相似文献

2006年8-10月南极威德尔海冬季海冰考察,对海冰生物地球化学特征,包括叶绿素a、POC、C/N等的含量与垂直分布及其生态意义进行分析研究。结果表明,海冰叶绿素a含量普遍较高,平均总量233.8μg·l-1,范围14.7-1519.2μg·l-1,其中有57%以上的冰芯平均总量超过100μg·l-1。冰芯叶绿素a平均值为16.6μg·l-1,范围2.1-84.4μg·l-1,高出威德尔海区初冬海冰叶绿素a平均值的2.2倍,高出深冬时的7.5倍。海冰不同层次叶绿素垂直分布不均匀,底部有色层多位高值区。本文海冰R值83%,表明冬季冰藻具有较强活性,并处于初春旺发前期的活跃状态,不仅有利于暖季大量冰藻释放促成海域浮游植物水华与初级生产的迅速增长,并为浮游动物幼体的生长发育提供丰富饵料,确保海域生态系统的修复和可持续发展。  相似文献

The structure of the ice core varies with depth, Its surface layer is firn, followed by an ice layer with random fabric pattern (beginning at 28m depth), then transformed to a small circle girdle pattern (beginning at 147 m depth) through a transition layer, finally to a single-maximum pattern (beginning at 191 m depth). The stratigraphic profile of the ice core is similar to those of other cores on the Law Dome, For BHQ located in the middle of a flow line from the summit to the coast, the initial depth of every specific layer is less than that in the upstream and larger than that in the downstream. The ice was analyzed for trace elememts using instrumental neutron activation technique. No tendency towards a systematic increase or decrease in the element concentrations in the past 4000 years has been found. The mean concentrations of Na and Al over the past 4000 years are higher than those in the Vostok ice core by factors of 9 and 4, respectively.  相似文献

Using sea ice concentration dataset covering the period of 1968-2002 obtained from the Hadley Center of UK, this paper investigates characters of Antarctic sea ice variations .The finding demonstrates that the change of mean sea-ice extent is almost consistent with that of sea-ice area, so sea-ice extent can be chosen to go on this research. The maximum and the minimum of Antarctic sea ice appear in September and February respectively. The maximum and the maximal variation of sea ice appear in Weddell Sea and Ross Sea, while the minimum and the minimal variation of sea-ice appear in Antarctic Peninsula. In recent 35 years, as a whole, Antarctic sea ice decreased distinctly. Moreover, there are 5 subdivision characteristic regions considering their different variations. Hereinto, the sea-ice extent of Weddell Sea and Ross Sea regions extends and area increases, while the sea-ice extent of the other three regions contracts and area decreases. They are all of obvious 2-4 years and 5-7 years significant oscillation periods. It is of significance for further understanding the sea-ice-air interaction in Antarctica region and discussing the relationship between sea-ice variation and atmospheric circulation.  相似文献

对我国第二次和第三次北极科学考察在白令海和楚科奇海获取的部分表层沉积物样品进行了详细的硅藻分析,旨在了解白令海和楚科奇海表层沉积硅藻的主要分布情况。研究发现海冰对北极硅藻有着显著的影响,在最小冰边缘线以北海域,由于常年被海冰覆盖,表层沉积物中的硅藻数量极少甚至缺失,而在此范围以南海域,硅藻含量则甚为丰富。白令海和楚科奇海表层沉积物中最主要的硅藻种类及组合有:角毛藻休眠孢子(Chaetoceros resting spores),海冰硅藻组合(以Fragilariopsis oceanica和Fragilariopsis cylindrus为代表),极地硅藻组合(优势种有Bacterosira bathyomphla,Thalassiosira antarctic v. borealis及其休眠孢子),沿岸底栖硅藻组合(主要有Paralia sulcata和Delpheneis surirella),诺氏海链藻(Thalassiosira nordenskioeldii)和塞米新细齿藻(Neodenticula seminae)等。上述硅藻种类及组合具有显著的空间分布差异性,并与现代海洋环境因素密切相关,因此对于白令海和楚科奇海古海洋环境研究具有重要意义。  相似文献

Examination of 17 samples collected by a 20 μm meshed meshed net in Kongsfjorden, Svalbard, 8–19 July 1988, showed a dominance of dinoflagellates and the chrysophyte Dinobryon Balticum in the surface layers, whereas the diatom and the haptophyte Phaecystis pouchetii abundance increased with depth. The diatom Pseudo-nitzschia granii appeared together with P. pouchetii through the whole water column, and Actinocyclus curvatulus was one of the few diatoms present also in the surface samples. Two samples, from 15 and 50 m, respectively, were cleaned of organic material and mounted in Naphrax for a more critical identification of the diatoms. We were able to group the species according to habitats, especially types of ice. The planktonic Thalassiosira antarctica var. borealis, T. hyalina, T. nordenskioeldii, Bacterosira bathyomphaia, Chaetoceros furcellatus, C. socialis and Fragilariopsis oceanica were present mainly as resting stages representing a post-bloom situation. These species and T. gravida appear early in the season and may have started to grow already under the ice. Fragilariopsis cylindrus and F. oceanica seem to have a closer affinity to ice than Thalassiosira and Chaetoceros spp. although they are common in the plankton. Some Nitzschia species which are usually regarded as typical sea-ice diatoms and have thicker and older ice as the main habitat were present only in small cell numbers in the plankton samples. The last component, evidently introduced from Atlantic water in the Norwegian Sea, consisted of diatoms with a more oceanic distribution, e. g. Fragilariopsis pseudonana and a small form of Thalassiosira bioculata .  相似文献

南设得兰群岛是晚中生代以来古太平洋板块向南极板块俯冲消减过程中形成的,目前对整个群岛的地层特征及沉积演化无统一认识。通过归纳总结国内外研究成果,认为该群岛出露的地层具明显的时空规律。群岛主体的西南部出露上侏罗统-下白垩统,发育海底扇、深海、斜坡裙、扇三角洲等沉积相,相伴随的火山作用主要为钙碱性玄武岩和玄武安山岩的喷发,记录了弧前盆地-火山岛弧的演化过程;群岛主体的东北部主要出露上白垩统-下渐新统,其中上白垩统-始新统发育一套玄武质熔岩、火山碎屑-沉积岩建造,为温暖气候下的陆相沉积,火山活动具有岛弧拉斑玄武岩与钙碱性火山岩的过渡性质。渐新统-下中新统则记录了从间冰期正常海相到冰期冰海相沉积的转变过程。  相似文献

CTD observations from the southern Weddell Sea in 1977 show that Ice Shelf Water originating under the floating Filchner Ice Shelf overflows at the sill of the Filchner Depression and can be identified on the continental slope at more than 2000m depth. Intrusions of Weddell Deep Water upon the shelf are especially noticeable in the region of dense shelf water outflow and are possibly driven by the outflow. Anomalous low core temperature of Weddell Deep Water is probably related to winter convection in the Weddell Polynya. Anomalous CTD stations at the periphery of the 1976 winter polynya region indicate that deep convection phenomena, as reported by Gordon (1978), are perhaps quite common. The observations indicate that double diffusive convection is important for vertical heat transport in the central Weddell Sea.  相似文献

An anomalous phytoplankton bloom was recorded in the Indian Ocean sector of the Antarctic Zone (AZ) of the Southern Ocean (SO) during the austral summer, 2011. Possible mechanisms for the triggering of such a large bloom were analyzed with the help of in situ and satellite data. The bloom, which formed in January 2011, intensified during February and weakened by March. High surface chlorophyll (Chl) concentrations (0.76 mg m−3) were observed in the area of the bloom (60°S, 47°E) with a Deep Chlorophyll Maximum (DCM) of 1.15 mg m−3 at a depth of 40–60 m. During 2011, both the concentration and spatial extent of sea ice were high on the western side of the bloom, between 0°E and 40°E, and enhanced freshwater influx was observed in the study area as a result of melting ice. A positive Southern Annular Mode (SAM) (with a resultant northward horizontal advection) and an intense La Niña during 2010–2011 are possible reasons for the high sea-ice concentrations. The enhanced Chl a observed in the study region, which can be attributed to the phytoplankton bloom, likely resulted from the influx of nutrient-laden freshwater derived from melting sea ice.  相似文献

依据Hadley中心提供的全球海冰密集度格点资料 ,利用诊断分析方法 ,对近 35年来南极海冰的时空变化特征进行了研究。研究表明 ,在南极地区 ,海冰平均北界和海冰总面积的变化基本一致 ,可以用海冰北界来研究南极海冰的时空变化特征。南极海冰最多和最少期分别出现在 9月和 2月 ;威德尔海和罗斯海地区海冰最多、变化最大 ,南极半岛地区海冰最少 ,变化也小 ;近 35年来环南极地区的海冰有明显的减少趋势。南极海冰变化的时空多样性十分明显 ,存在着 5个变化不同的区域 ,其中有两个区域近 35年来海冰范围扩大 ,面积增加 ,而另三个区域则海冰范围缩小 ,面积减少。不同区域的海冰都存在着较明显的 2- 3年和 5- 7年主振荡周期。南极海冰时空变化特征的研究对进一步认识南极地区海 冰 气相互作用的物理过程 ,讨论南极海冰变异与大气环流和天气气候的关系有重要意义  相似文献

<正> Abundance,biomass and composition of the ice algal and phytoplank-ton communities were investigated in the southeastern Laptev Sea in spring 1999.Diatoms dominated the algal communities and pennate diatoms dominated the dia-tom population.12 dominant algal species occurred within sea ice and underlyingwater column,including Fragilariopsis oceanica,F.cylindrus,Nitzschiafrigida,N.promare,Achnanthes taeniata,Nitzschia neofrigida,Naviculapelagica,N.vanhoef fenii,N.septentrionalis,Melosira arctica,Clindrothecaclosterium and Pyrarnimonas sp.The algal abundance of bottom 10 cm sea icevaried between 14.6 and 1562.2×10~4 ceils l~(-1)with an average of 639.0×10~4cells l~(-1),and the algal biomass ranged from 7.89 to 2093.5μg C l~(-1)with an av-erage of 886.9μg C l~(-1),which were generally one order of magnitude higherthan those of sub-bottom ice and two orders of magnitude higher than those ofunderlying surface water.The integrated algal abundance and biomass of lower-most 20 cm ice column were averagely 7.7 and 12.2 times as those of upper 20 mwater column,respectively,suggesting that the ice algae might play an importantrole in maintaining the coastal marine ecosystem before the thawing of sea ice.Icealgae influenced the phytoplankton community of the underlying water column.However,the“seeding”of ice algae for phytoplankton bloom was negligible be-cause of the iow phytoplankton biomass within the underlying water column.  相似文献

Phytoplankton dynamics and carbon input into Arctic and sub-Arctic ecosystems were investigated around Svalbard, in summer 1991. Phytoplankton biomass, species composition and dissolved nutrient concentrations were analysed from water samples collected along seven transects. Phytoplankton biomass was low especially to the north (Chlorophyll-a mean 0.3 pg 1- '), where flagellates dominated the communities and only ice-diatoms were present. To the west, the phytoplankton composition was representative of a summer Atlantic community, in a post-bloom state. Zooplankton grazing, mainly by copepods, appeared to be the main control on biomass to the west and north of Svalbard.
In the Barents Sea (east of Svalbard), an ice edge bloom was observed (Chlorophyll-a max. 6.8 pgl-') and the ice edge receded at a rate of approximately 1 1 km day-'. The phytoplankton community was represented by marginal ice species, especially Phaeocystis poucherii and Chaeroceros socialis. South of the ice edge, Deep Chlorophyll Maxima (DCM) were observed, as surface waters became progressively nutrient-depleted. In these surface waters, the phytoplankton were predominantly auto- and heterotrophic flagellates.
Carbon production measurements revealed high net production (new and regenerated) to the north of the Barents Sea Polar Front (BSPF); it was especially high at the receding ice edge (reaching 1.44gC m-'day-'). To the south, a low level of production was maintained, mainly through regenerative processes.  相似文献

南极各区海冰变化不同,这种不同的变化必然对各区局地大气环流产生不同的影响,进而可能对全球气候系统产生不同的作用。本文利用Hadley中心提供的1968年1月-2002年12月全球海冰密集度格点资料,结合中央气象台的北半球500hPa、100hPa高度场资料以及中国160站降水、温度资料,利用诊断分析方法,分别对南极Ross海区和Weddell海区海冰与我国夏季天气的关系进行了研究。研究表明,南极Ross海区和Weddell海区海冰对我国夏季天气均具有指示意义。Ross海区是影响我国夏季东北地区降水的海冰关键区,若该区上一年9月海冰偏多,则来年6月我国东北降水偏少;Weddell海区是影响我国夏季东北温度的海冰关键区,若该区上一年9月海冰偏多,则来年6月我国东北温度偏低。  相似文献

西南极南设得兰群岛利文斯顿岛赫德半岛中分布的一套主要由复理石相岩石组成的低级变质沉积岩(迈尔斯陡崖组)被认为是中- 新生代火山岩的基底(晚古生代- 早中生代?)。以前含砾泥岩在迈尔斯陡崖组局部地点曾有零星报道,但详细的地质填图确认此地有四层含砾泥岩分布。研究表明,这些含砾泥岩可能是水下碎屑流沉积,其生成环境可能是海底扇中扇的水道。对比在南极半岛所发现有大量的含砾泥岩,则进一步表明利文斯顿岛早期地质特征可与南极半岛相比,两者在中- 新生代岩浆弧形成之前处于相同的构造环境。  相似文献

基于1947年中国政府内政部印制的1:400万《南海诸岛位置图》,采用地理信息系统及数字化仿射变换精准测量出11段断续线的地理坐标,同时利用4.4万多个实测水深点数据建立南海海底三维地形模型,通过叠加分析获得了1947年南海断续线所在位置的海底地形特征。结果显示:断续线东长西短,间距东西大、南北小,其走向、形态与下伏地形特征相符合,主要分布在大陆坡和大陆架上;并基于断续线下伏海底地形分析,推断出当时断续线划定时可能遵循如下依据:① 在浅海盆地、海峡处采用“等距离中间线”原则进行划分;② 在具有明显地形变化处沿海槽坡麓或海槽槽沟中线进行划分;③ 在西南部陆坡陆架区,结合岸线走向及下伏地形特征进行划分。  相似文献

Microbial composition-including microalgae, bacteria and protozoans- and potential metabolic activity of its autotrophic compartment were measured in December 1988 in several micro-environments that characterise the North-West Sector of the marginal area of the Weddell Sea; infiltration and band assemblages of ice floes and adjacent waters were investigated. At the time of ice melting, a shift from a diatom dominated population (ice) to a flagellate dominated population (water column) was observed. Nevertheless, this shift was not due to an "inability" of the ice-diatoms to grow in the water colum. Macro-grazing and/or sedimentation are suggested as possible causes of the disappearance of diatoms during ice melting. The remaining small autotrophic forms released by the ice would constitute a significant seeding stock for the growth of ice-edge blooms.  相似文献

Eleven shallow cores display 315 m of the >700 m thick Lower and Middle Triasic successional of the Svalis Dome, a Salt diapir in the central south-western Barents Sea. The Svalis Dome was uplifted in the late Mesozoic. and Trisassic rocks suherop below Quaternary till around the Upper Palaeozoic core of the dome. Deposition of the Triassic succession took place in deep shelf to basinal environments below storm wave base. The succession is dated by macrofossils and palynomorphs and can be assigned to four formations. The basal beds of the shaly greenish grey Havert Formation (Griesbachian) occur above Permian bioclastic carbonate. The Klappmyss Formation (Smithian) in the lower part contains gravity flow sands deposited as submarine fans pussible triggered by tectonic movements along the adjacent ault zones overlian by silty claystones. An organic-rich dark shale unit is here formally defined as the Steinkobbe overlain by silty claystones. An organic-rich dark shale unit is here formally defined as the Steinkobbe Formation, and was deposited in a large bight by restricted water circulation. The Snadd Formation. on top, representes a marine shelf unit deposited in front of an emerging land area in the north-east. A minimum of six higher order transgressive-regressive sequences are recognized at the Svalis Dome and these are correlated with other Arctic areas.  相似文献
