Reproductive morphology ofEucheumagelatinae (Esper) J. Agardh (Solieriaceae,Gigartinales, rhodophyta)

Eucheuma gelatinae (Esper) J. Agardh has vegetative and reproductive features distinguishing it from other species ofEucheuma. The occurrence of reproductive nemathecia containing carpogonial branches, auxiliary cells and post-fertilization stages including gonimoblast and pericarp initiation, fusion cell formation stages and carposporophyte development are described and ilustrated for the first time for this species. ONTOGENIC STUDY OF ISOZYMES IN GIANT TIGER PRAWN,PENAEUS MONODON (CRUSTACEA:DECAPODA)

The patterns of isozyme variation throughout the life cycle of the giant tiger prawn, Penaeusmonodon were described for ten enzyme systems (G3PD, MDH, LGG, GPI, MPI, FBP, PGM, LDH,PGD, and PROT). The zymograms showh little variation in the number of isozymic loci expressed duringlarval development compared with results reported for other penaeid prawns. There were specific ontogenicpatterns at some loci. As larvae developed beyond the embryonic stage, there was tendency for intensityof staining and complexity of banding patterns to increase.

A NEW“TETRASPORANGIAL”SPECIES OF LIAGORA(RHODOPHYTA,NEMALIALES)FROM HAWAIT

A new species of Liagora,L.perennis sp.nov.from Hawai’i,is described.Unlike dpecies of this genus in China,it is carpotetrasporangial,and at the place of expected carposporangia bears cruciately di-vided tetrasporangia,a detail which differentiates it from the usual species of Liagora without tetraspores that have been reported in China.Notes are provided on other Liagora species that have an impact on the taxonomy of species found in China.     

Isolation,Expression and Characterization of rbcL Gene from Ulva prolifera J.Agardh (Ulvophyceae,Chlorophyta)

Ulva prolifera is a typical green alga in subtidal areas and can grow tremendously fast. A highly efficient Rubisco enzyme which is encoded by Up Rbc L gene may contribute to the rapid growth. In this study, the full-length Up Rbc L open reading frame(ORF) was identified, which encoded a protein of 474 amino acids. Phylogenetic analysis of Up Rbc L sequences revealed that Chlorophyta had a closer genetic relationship with higher plants than with Rhodophyta and Phaeophyta. The two distinct residues(aa11 and aa91) were presumed to be unique for Rubisco catalytic activity. The predicted three-dimensional structure showed that one α/β-barrel existed in the C-terminal region, and the sites for Mg~(2+)coordination and CO_2 fixation were also located in this region. Gene expression profile indicated that Up Rbc L was expressed at a higher level under light exposure than in darkness. When the culture temperature reached 35℃, the expression level of Up Rbc L was 2.5-fold lower than at 15℃, and the carboxylase activity exhibited 13.8-fold decrease. Up Rbc L was heterologously expressed in E. coli and was purified by Ni~(2+) affinity chromatography. The physiological and biochemical characterization of recombinant Rubisco will be explored in the future.

广西DS锡锌矿床岩矿石磁性特征值—Q值研究意义

作者通过对DS锡锌矿床岩矿石磁性特征值之一的Q(Jr/Ji)值研究,总结了该矿床的锡锌矿体与岩矿石磁性关系的几个规律:即磁异常与矿体关系密切;主要磁源层为含磁黄铁矿的角岩与多金属矿石;矿体在空间上主要分布于磁性中等(J=2000～4000×10~(-6)CGSM)及Q值较小(Q≤5)地段。此外,还探讨锡、锌矿的成矿机理。

Effect of temperature and irradiance on the growth and reproduction of Enteromorpha prolifera J. Ag. （Chlorophycophyta,Chlorophyceae）

Effect of temperature and irradiance on growth and reproduction of Enteromorpha prolifera that bloomed offshore along the Qingdao coast in summer 2008, was studied. It was showed that E. prolifera propagated mainly asexually with specific growth rate （SGR） of 10.47 at 25℃/40 μmol m^-2s^-1. Under this condition, gametes with two flagellate formed and released in 5 days. At the beginning of the development, the unicell gamete divided into two cells with heteropolarity, and then the apical cell developed into thalli primordial cells, whereas the basal cell developed into rhizoid primordial cells. In 8-day culture, the monoplast gamete developed into juvenile germling of 240 μm in length. Unreleased gametes can develop directly within the alga body. E. prolifera could either reproduce through lateral branching or fragmenting except apomixis revealed by Microscopic observation. On aged tissue of E. prolifera, although the degraded pigments partially remained in faded algal filaments, numerous vegetative cells could still divide actively in the algal tissues.

影响马氏珠母贝人工育苗效果的原因浅析

粤西沿海与广西沿海一带有马氏珠母贝人工育苗场达数百家之多，但由于种种原因，多数育苗效果欠佳。本文就育苗期间经常出现的面盘幼虫发育参差不齐，壳顶初期前后幼虫大量下沉，附着初期幼虫难变态及附着后脱落等三个主要问题进行分析，并提出相应的对策。

Synedra ulna var. repanda Q. X. Wang & Q. M. You, a new variety of Synedra (Bacillariophyta) from Xinjiang, China, is described and illustrated, and the characteristic of the variety: includes undulate-linear valves and straight pseudoraphe, differs from other species of Synedra.     

Taxonomic description of a new marine ciliate,Euplotes qingdaoensis n. sp. (Ciliophora: Euplotida)

The characteristics and infraciliature of a new euplotid ciliate,Euplotes qingdaoensis n.sp.,discovered from the coastal waters of Jiaozhou Bay,northern China,were studied using live observation and silver impregnation.The new marine species is characterized by a slightly fl attened body(90–110 μm×70–80 μm,in vivo),an adoral zone of 26–29 membranelles,10 strong frontoventral and fi ve transverse cirri,two caudal cirri,a single left marginal cirrus,seven dorsal kineties,a middle kinety with about 15 pairs of basal bodies,a silverline system of the double-eurystomus type,and a C-shaped macronucleus.

A diplomonad flagellate Hexamita capsularis sp.nov.from the posterior intestine of the fish(Xenocypris dividi)from Liangzi Lake,Hubei Province,is described.The flagellate was oval,withsmooth surface and homogenous cytoplasm,6.21±0.28μm in length,3.43±0.48μm in width and with anelliptical capsule.Two recurrent flagellae arranged between two nuclei ran longitudinally to the posteriorend.Fibrillar bands connected the accessory organelles of two cytostomal tubes,the body depressed atthe posterior end of the body.
