We present the results of our optical identifications of four hard X-ray sources from the Swift all-sky survey. We obtained optical spectra for each of the program objects with the 6-m BTA telescope (Special Astrophysical Observatory, Russian Academy of Sciences, Nizhnii Arkhyz), which allowed their nature to be established. Two sources (SWIFT J2237.2+6324 and SWIFT J2341.0+7645) are shown to belong to the class of cataclysmic variables (suspected polars or intermediate polars). The measured emission line width turns out to be fairly large (FWHM ?? 15?C25 ?), suggesting the presence of extended, rapidly rotating (v ? 400?C600 km s?1) accretion disks in the systems. Apart from line broadening, we have detected a change in the positions of the line centroids for SWIFT J2341.0+7645, which is most likely attributable to the orbital motion of the white dwarf in the binary system. The other two program objects (SWIFT J0003.3+2737 and SWIFT J0113.8+2515) are extragalactic in origin: the first is a Seyfert 2 galaxy and the second is a blazar at redshift z = 1.594. Apart from the optical spectra, we provide the X-ray spectra for all sources in the 0.6?C10 keV energy band obtained from XRT/Swift data.  相似文献

The results of optical identifications of five hard X-ray sources in the Galactic plane from the INTEGRAL all-sky survey are presented. The X-ray data on one source (IGR J20216+4359) are published for the first time. The optical observations were performed with the 1.5-m RTT-150 telescope (Turkish National Observatory, Antalya, Turkey) and the 6-m BTA telescope (Special Astrophysical Observatory, Nizhny Arkhyz, Russia). A blazar, three Seyfert galaxies, and a high-mass X-ray binary are among the identified sources.  相似文献

Four hard X-ray sources from the INTEGRAL and Swift catalogs have been identified. X-ray and optical spectra have been obtained for each of the objects being studied by using data from the INTEGRAL, Swift, ROSAT, and Chandra X-ray observatories as well as observations with the RTT-150 and AZT-33IK optical telescopes. Two sources (SWIFT J1553.6+2606 and SWIFT J1852.2+8424) are shown to be extragalactic in nature: the first is a quasar, while the recordedX-ray flux from the second is the total emission from two Seyfert 1 galaxies at redshifts 0.1828 and 0.2249. The source IGR J22534+6243 resides in our Galaxy and is an X-ray pulsar with a period of ~46.674 s that is a member of a high-mass X-ray binary with a Be star. The nature of yet another Galactic source, SWIFT J1852.8+3002, is not completely clear and infrared spectroscopy is needed to establish it.  相似文献

We present the results of our optical identifications of several hard X-ray sources from the INTEGRAL all-sky survey obtained over 14 years of observations. Having improved the positions of these objects in the sky with the X-ray telescope (XRT) of the Swift observatory and the XMMNewton observatory, we have identified their counterparts using optical and infrared sky survey data. We have obtained optical spectra for more than half of the objects from our sample with the RTT-150 and AZT-33IK telescopes, which have allowed us to establish the nature of the objects and to measure their redshifts. Six sources are shown to be extragalactic in origin and to belong to Seyfert 1 and 2 galaxies (IGR J01017+6519, IGR J08215-1320, IGR J08321-1808, IGR J16494-1740, IGR J17098-2344, IGR J17422-2108); we have failed to draw definitive conclusions about the nature of four more objects (IGR J11299-6557, IGR J14417-5533, IGR J18141-1823, IGR J18544+0839), but, judging by circumstantial evidence, they are most likely also extragalactic objects. For one more object (IGR J18044-1829) no unequivocal identification has been made.  相似文献

We present the results of our optical identification of the X-ray source IGR J16547-1916 detected by the INTEGRAL observatory during a deep all-sky survey. Analysis of the spectroscopic data from the SWIFT and INTEGRAL observatories in the X-ray energy band and from the BTA (Special Astrophysical Observatory) telescope in the optical band has shown that the source is most likely an intermediate polar—an accreting white dwarf with the mass ofM WD μ 0.85M binary system. Subsequent studies of the object’s rapid variability with the RTT-150 telescope have confirmed this conclusion by revealing periodic pulsations of its optical emission with a period of ≈550 s.  相似文献

We present the results of our optical identifications of a set of X-ray sources from the INTEGRAL and SWIFT all-sky surveys. The optical data have been obtained with the 1.5-m Russian-Turkish Telescope (RTT-150). Nine X-ray sources have been identified with active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Two of them are located in the nearby spiral galaxies MCG-01-05-047 and NGC 973 seen almost edge-on. One source, IGR J16562-3301, is probably a BL Lac object (blazar). The remaining AGNs are observed as the starlike nuclei of spiral galaxies whose spectra exhibit broad emission lines. The relation between the hard X-ray (17–60 keV) luminosity and the [O III] 5007 line luminosity, log L x/L [O III] ≈ 2.1, holds good for most of the AGNs detected in hard X rays. However, the luminosities of some AGNs deviate from this relation. The fraction of such objects can reach ~20%. In particular, the [O III] line flux is lower for two nearby edge-on spiral galaxies. This can be explained by the effect of absorption in the galactic disks.  相似文献

We present the results of our optical identification of two X-ray sources from the RXTE and INTEGRAL all-sky surveys: XSS J00564+4548 and IGR J00234+6141. Using optical observations with the 1.5-m Russian-Turkish Telescope (RTT150) and publicly accessible X-ray data from the SWIFT Orbital Observatory, we show that these sources are most likely intermediate polars, i.e., binary systems with accreting white dwarfs that possess a moderately strong magnetic field (≲10 MG). We have found periodic optical oscillations with periods of ≈480 and ≈570 s. These periods most likely correspond to the rotation periods of the white dwarfs in these systems. Further optical RTT150 observations of these systems will allow their parameters to be studied in more detail. We present the results of Chandra and XMM-Newton observations for six hard X-ray sources (IGR J12134-6015, IGR J18293-1213, IGR J18219-1347, IGR J17350-2045, IGR J18048-1455, XTE J1901+014) from the INTEGRAL all-sky survey. Based on these observations, we have improved significantly the localization accuracy of the objects and, therefore, have managed to identify their optical counterparts. Using data from the publicly available 2MASS and UKIDSS infrared sky surveys as well as data from the SOFI/NTT telescope (European Southern Observatory), we have determined the magnitudes of the optical counterparts, estimated their types and (in some cases) the distances to the program objects. A triplet of iron lines with energies of 6.4, 6.7, and 6.9 keV has been detected in the X-ray spectrum of IGR J18048-1455; together with the detection of pulsations with a period of ~1440 s from this source, this has allowed it to be classified as a cataclysmic variable, most likely an intermediate polar. In addition, broadband X-ray spectra of IGR J12134-6015 and IGR J17350-2045 in combination with infrared and radio observations suggest an extragalactic nature of these objects. The source IGR J18219-1347 presumably belongs to the class of high-mass X-ray binaries.  相似文献

Spectral observations of 19 galaxies with UV-excesses from Kazarian’s list are reported. The spectra were obtained with the 2.6-m telescope at the Byurakan Observatory using the SCORPIO spectral camera. A grism was used to obtain spectra in the wavelength interval λλ7420-3920 Å. 43 spectra in which emission lines are mainly observed were obtained from the 19 galaxies, except for the spectra of Kaz 21, Kaz 178, Kaz 183, and Kaz 184. The spectra of Kaz 17, Kaz 151, Kaz 153, and Kaz 357 have type Sy2 galactic features. In the spectra of the galaxies Kaz 17, Kaz 151, and Kaz 153, absorption lines are observed along with high excitation emission lines such as HeI λ5876 Å and HeII λ4686 Å. No lines were observed within the interval λλ7420-3920 Å in the spectra of the galaxies Kaz 183 and Kaz 184. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 49, No. 3, pp. 351–358 (August 2006).  相似文献

Results are presented from a spectral, photometric, and morphological study of two compact groups of compact galaxies (CGCG) from Shahbazian’s list. The observations were made on the 1.5-m ESO telescope and the 2.6-m telescope at the Byurakan Astrophysical Observatory (BAO) during 1999–2000. These data are compared with data for the Shahbazian compact group 4. A high spatial density of galaxies, ranging from 10000 to 100000 galaxies per Mpc3, is observed in all the groups that were studied. The discovery of a Seyfert Sy1 galaxy in the Shahbazian 355 compact group is especially noteworthy. The direct photographs of the CGCGs that were studied contain no signs of merging or tidal interactions among the members of these groups. This suggests that the galaxies in these dense systems have a common origin. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 50, No. 3, pp. 347–353 (August 2007).  相似文献

The X-ray source IGR J16318-4848 was the first source discovered by INTEGRAL on January 29, 2003. The high energy spectrum exhibits such a high column density that the source is undetectable in X-rays below 2 keV. On February 23–25, 2003 we triggered a Target of Opportunity (ToO) Program using the EMMI and SOFI instruments on the New Technology Telescope of the European Southern Observatory (La Silla) to get optical and near-infrared (NIR) observations. We discovered the optical counterpart, and confirmed the already proposed candidate in the NIR. NIR spectroscopy revealed a large amount of emission lines, including forbidden iron lines and P-Cygni profiles, showing a strong similarity with CI Cam, another strongly absorbed source. Together with the spectral energy distribution (SED), these data point to a high luminosity, high temperature source, with an intrinsic absorption greater than the interstellar absorption, but two orders of magnitude below the X-ray absorption. All these observations show that IGR J16318-4848 is a high mass X-ray binary (HMXB) at a distance between 0.9 and 6.2 kpc, the mass donor being an early-type star, probably a sgB[e] star, surrounded by a dense and absorbing circumstellar material. This would make the second HMXB with a sgB[e] star as the mass donor after CI Cam. Other sources, discovered by INTEGRAL near IGR J16318-4848 in the direction of the Norma arm, present the same characteristics, at least in X-rays. Such sources may represent a different evolutionary state of X-ray binaries previously undetected with the lower energy space telescopes; if it is so, a new class of strongly absorbed X-ray binaries is being unveiled by INTEGRAL. Out of the 15 sources present in this region, only one might be associated with an unidentified EGRET source: IGR J16393-4643. Therefore these obscured INTEGRAL sources do not seem to be powerful high energy (E > 100 MeV) emitters. Increasing the identification completeness of sources from new X-ray sky surveys is a necessary condition for further works on analyzing the formation and long-term evolution of star systems in our Galaxy. Infrared observations of several sources selected from Galactic plane surveys as candidates for low-mass X-ray binaries with the IRSF telescope at the South African Astronomical Observatory are presented. The infrared fluxes have been reliably measured from five of the eight sources (4U 1556-60, 4U 1708-40, AX J165901-4208, IGR J16287-5021, IGR J17350-2045, AX J171922-3703, SAX J1712.6-3739, 4U 1705-32). One of the objects (AX J165901-4208) may be a candidate for symbiotic X-ray binaries, i.e., binaries in which the companion of a relativistic object is a giant star. The distances have been estimated for three sources and the orbital periods have been estimated for two.  相似文献

We present the results of optical identifications and spectroscopic redshift measurements for galaxy clusters from the second Planck catalogue of Sunyaev–Zeldovich sources (PSZ2) located at high redshifts, z ≈ 0.7?0.9. We used the data of optical observations with the Russian–Turkish 1.5-mtelescope (RTT-150), the Sayan Observatory 1.6-m telescope, the Calar Alto 3.5-m telescope, and the 6-m SAO RAS telescope (BTA). The spectroscopic redshift measurements were obtained for seven galaxy clusters, including one cluster, PSZ2 G126.57+51.61, from the cosmological sample of the PSZ2 catalogue. In the central regions of two clusters, PSZ2 G069.39+68.05 and PSZ2 G087.39?34.58, we detected arcs of strong gravitational lensing of background galaxies, one of which is at redshift z = 4.262. The data presented below roughly double the number of known galaxy clusters in the second Planck catalogue of Sunyaev–Zeldovich sources at high redshifts, z ≈ 0.8.  相似文献

We present the classification of optical identifications and radio spectra of six radio sources from a complete (in flux density) sample in the declination range 10° to 12°30′ (J2000.0). The observations were carried out with the 6-m Special Astrophysical Observatory telescope (Russia) in the wavelength range 3600–10000 Å, the 2.1-m GHAO telescope (Mexico) in the range 4200–9000 Å, and the RATAN-600 radio telescope in the frequency range 0.97–21.7 GHz. Three of the six objects under study are classified as quasars, one is a BL Lac object, one is an absorption-line radio galaxy, and one is an emission-line radio galaxy. Five objects have flat radio spectra, and one object has a power-law radio spectrum. All of the radio sources identified as quasars or BL Lac objects show variable radio flux densities. The spectra of three objects were separated into extended and compact components.  相似文献

The next list of spectral data on blue stellar objects (BSOs) is presented. 58 FBS objects in a zone with a central declination δ = + 35° were observed with the 2.6-m telescope at the Byurakan Observatory during 1990–1991. In addition, 3 objects were observed (3 CCD spectra were obtained) with the BAO 2.6-m and OHP 1.93-m telescopes in 1997–2000 using modern instrumentation. 9 white dwarfs, 47 hot subdwarfs, and 2 HBB stars have been discovered. Spectra of the 10 most interesting objects are given. __________ Translated from Astrofizika, Vol. 51, No. 2, pp. 277–283 (May 2008).  相似文献

We use long-slit spectra from shocked regions of radio supernova remnants (SNRs) in the Large Magellanic Cloud to estimate electron density and derive an average 'metal' abundance of 10−3.9 based on diagnostic line ratio plots. These simple diagnostics may be especially useful to determine abundances in more distant galaxies. Abundance values listed in this paper, in units of log(x/H) + 12, for nitrogen (7.3) and oxygen (8.2) agree with those reported in the literature. These estimates – which we assume to be dominated by the interstellar medium with little evolutionary interference – were obtained from spectral analysis of ∼50 per cent of known radio SNRs using the double beam spectrograph on the 2.3-m Advanced Technology Telescope at Siding Spring Observatory in Australia and the Cassegrain spectrograph on the 1.9-m Radcliffe telescope at the South African Astronomical Observatory. We also found optical evidence of shocked regions near 2 of 20 radio SNR candidates (J053620−693136 and J053731−662740), strengthening their identification as true remnants.  相似文献

The results of spectroscopic observations of 30 galaxies from the Second Byurakan Spectral Sky Survey in a field of 16 square degrees centered at coordinates a = 15h30m, δ = + 53°are presented. The spectra were obtained on the 6-m telescope of the Special Astrophysical Observatory, Russian Academy of Sciences, in the wavelength range of 4000–7400 Å with 15 Å resolution. Emission lines are present in the spectra of most of the galaxies. Redshifts and absolute stellar magnitudes were determined for all the galaxies.  相似文献

A list of 750 objects has been compiled using the Astrophysical CATalogs Support System (CATS) database, by cross-identifying sources in the IRAS catalogues and the catalogue of the Texas survey at 365 MHz. We have carried out a search for optical counterparts of those objects, where the difference in positions between the two catalogues and the APM is less than 3. One of these sources, IRAS F02044+0957, was observed with the RATAN-600 radio telescope at four frequencies in April 1999. Optical spectroscopy of the components of the system was made with the 2.1-m telescope of the Guillermo Haro Observatory. The radio and optical spectra, the NVSS radio map and the optical and infrared images allow us to conclude that the steep spectrum (=–0-94 ± 0-02) radio source IRAS F02044+0957 is a pair of interacting galaxies, a LINER and a HII galaxy, at z=0.093.Published in Astrofizika, Vol. 48, No. 1, pp. 113–124 (February 2005).  相似文献

We present a multiwavelength study of the environment of the unidentified X-ray/γ-ray sources IGR J18027–1455 and IGR J21247 + 5058, recently discovered by the IBIS/ISGRI instrument, onboard the INTEGRAL satellite. The main properties of the sources found inside their position error circles, give us clues about the nature of these high-energy sources.  相似文献
