During the late 1980s and early 1990s, cognitive science was included as one of the key disciplines in the emerging multidisciplinary field of geographic information science (GIScience). One of the key proponents and popularizers of the study of human cognition as part of GIScience – and one of its major researchers – has been Andrew U. Frank. In this essay, we review the history of Andrew Frank’s role as an innovator and champion for cognitive GIScience, and summarize some of his research contributions in this domain. Taken along with his contributions to other areas of GIScience, this review shows that Andrew Frank has been one of the primary figures in modern GIScience, and among its very broadest and intellectually-diverse contributors.  相似文献

贸易网络研究起源于复杂网络科学,其研究问题属于经济地理学全球化关注范畴。然而,关系经济地理作为经济地理全球化研究的中坚力量,同样借鉴社会网络和网络科学的思想,几乎没有参与到贸易网络的研究和对话中。论文针对这一现象,从介绍关系经济地理的网络范式入手,阐述关系经济的网络范式来源、过程与研究成果,并梳理现有贸易网络研究的进展,分析现阶段关系经济地理的网络思潮与贸易网络的区别,重新思考经济地理在关系视角下,应该以何种方式参与到贸易网络的讨论中。主要结论如下:(1)关系经济地理的网络范式仅仅借用社会网络研究小部分概念,重视在整体网络空间中行动者的嵌入性,几乎不关注网络的整体结构及其对集体行为的影响;(2)贸易网络研究主要探讨国家间贸易网络的结构与性质,而关系经济地理普遍从企业出发研究贸易流动背后的生产网络,其理论基础难以使用社会网络分析方法;(3)关系经济地理的贸易网络研究应该重视全球集群网络理论的运用,重新思考网络概念的经济地理学基础和多维网络相互耦合关系研究等问题。论文有助于推动关系经济地理学学者如何借助学科理论基础参与到贸易网络国际化研究中,对探讨现阶段经济地理理论应用和新方法实践具有重要...  相似文献

知识网络的空间结构特征与影响因素是经济地理学探讨的热点议题之一,以往研究侧重于产业案例的分析,主要关注国家和城市层面的知识网络,而对科学家等个人层面的网络研究较为缺乏。以2014—2015年全球高被引科学家为原始数据,筛选出高被引华人科学家,并基于Web of Science数据库,检索高被引华人科学家之间合著论文的数据构建知识网络,借助社会网络分析方法对高被引华人科学家知识网络的空间结构进行分析;并运用负二项回归模型,从地理邻近性、社会邻近性、制度邻近性3个维度,探讨高被引华人科学家知识网络的影响机制。研究发现:① 高被引华人科学家知识网络存在核心-边缘结构特征,且具有小世界网络的网络特征;② 此知识网络呈现“小集聚大分散”的空间结构特征,地理邻近性作用明显;③ 高被引华人科学家知识网络形成过程中会受到科学家自身科研能力等因素的影响,地理距离和科学家之间的联系呈现负相关关系,地理邻近性的影响仍然存在,社会邻近性和制度邻近性均对知识网络的形成有促进作用。  相似文献

The analysis of space and the use of geographic information systems (GIS) have long been important to natural resource applications. More recently, social scientists have been exploring ways to integrate spatial concepts with social science data related to natural resources for theoretical, practical, and methodological reasons. This trend is particularly evident with research in park and protected area (PPA) management and outdoor recreation. The purpose of this paper is to present an updated review of how space has been incorporated into PPA research, integrate concepts and methods, identify gaps, and propose future directions for research. Overall, this review suggests that the incorporation of spatially-related social science data is advancing the field PPA research in an effective and viable way.  相似文献

Geographic information systems (GIS) and cartography have traditionally been regarded as fields for the study of techniques. Yet the past ten years have witnessed geographers' increasing intellectual engagement with GIS and cartography. This essay recaps the recent intellectual discourses on GIS and cartography and speculates on possible development in the near future. Geocomputation, spatially integrated social sciences, social informatics, information ecology, and humanistic GIScience are identified as five areas of intensive new research, and it is argued that creative imaginations under the milieu of the “third culture” are urgently needed to address the challenging issues in this new technological era. Whether geography will become an intellectually more vibrant discipline hinges on the extent to which we can rekindle geographic imaginations in this computer age via GIScience to address issues of great societal concern.  相似文献

By studying landscape form and patterns, we can study processes at multiple scales and determine how collectively those processes inform us about function(s). Integrating landscape ecology from a biogeographical perspective with geographic information science (GIScience) practices offers new ways to study how landscapes change over time and space, including how they can be measured, analyzed, and modeled for management needs. This article presents methodologies and selected results of analyzing spatial patterns from field data across multiple scales by examining standing dead tree (snag) processes across wildfire‐disturbed landscapes in Arizona. Our primary motivation was to illustrate a particular type of work benefiting from the coalescing of landscape ecology and GIScience, functioning at the methodological and practical overlap of these two contributing fields. Our management goals were to (1) describe spatial patterns and characteristics of snags in pairs of burned and unburned ponderosa pine forests of Arizona in four recent (within the past ten years) wildfires, (2) document bird response to wildfires by combining landscape ecology and GIScience methods, and (3) link these patterns to snag monitoring plots and cavity‐nesting bird use to predict the probability of snag use by birds and cavity nesters based on snag characteristics (snag use model). The methods and results demonstrate how integration of landscape ecology with both GIS and GIScience improves the ways to study landscapes and land management issues, in this case offering guidelines for retention of snags that provide habitat for wildlife.  相似文献

Dr. David Mark is widely regarded as a path-breaking researcher in geographic information science. What are the structural and temporal characteristics of his intellectual contributions, as seen through the eyes of the broader academic community? Aiming to answer that question, this article presents a scientometric analysis of publications that have been cited alongside David Mark’s papers. In deliberate contrast to the widespread focus on using citation data to condense scientific impact into a handful of indicators, the methodological contribution of this study lies in its mix of computational and visualization approaches. In the search for latent domain structures, state-of-the-art practices in information science, bibliometrics, and network visualization are combined and extended. An initial network of 50,000+ publications and 4,000,000+ document co-citations undergoes a series of transformations reducing it to 9000 publications that are then clustered in a two-stage process, leading to 678 communities whose co-citation linkages are used to delineate 19 super-communities. To enable replication of this approach for other studies, much focus in this article is on detailed discussion of that workflow as well as on highlighting the reasoning behind the choices made among data sources and analytical methods. The topical evolution of David Mark’s domain of influence is explored in some detail, based on tabular and graphic representations of extracted community structures. Results confirm not only the enormous overall breadth of his influence but also how lasting and recurrent it has been in some areas.  相似文献

利用国家重点产业专利信息服务平台,对长三角装备制造业联合申请发明专利数据进行检索,绘制了长三角地区企业、厂、公司与高校、科研机构之间的产学研创新网络,从节点、部类、城市、区域等4个层面,采用中心度、网络密度等网络结构指标,对1985~2010年长三角装备制造业产学研创新网络的结构及空间特征进行分析。研究发现,长三角装备制造业产学研创新网络的演化具有明显的阶段性特征,中心度较高的成员多为高校,区域内各城市的产学研空间分异特征明显,地理邻近、行政邻近及知识规模邻近是影响行为主体建立创新合作联系重要的因素,网络建构处于初级阶段。  相似文献

近年来社会网络分析在旅游相关研究中表现出超强的适应性,成为国内外旅游研究的流行范式之一。论文从研究视角和方法、研究内容以及中层理论的应用3个方面分析了国际旅游研究的十大权威期刊2009—2018年发表的社会网络分析相关文献67篇。在全面、系统、深入地梳理与分析的基础上,与10 a前相关文献综述进行对比,总结出近10 a社会网络分析在国外旅游研究中最新的进展。研究发现:① 近10 a相关成果的研究视角进一步完善,表现为自我中心社会网视角以及与整体网结合的双重视角的研究成果显著增加;② 研究方法多样化,关系数据的来源更加丰富,融合相关性分析等各类统计分析技术的定量研究成为主流,扎根理论等定性研究方法也开始应用;③ 研究对象从传统的目的地合作网、政策网等扩展至居民关系网、超链接网、口碑分享网、旅游形象网等;④ 研究内容从旅游社会关系网络结构的描述与分析转向关系网络的影响因素和效应分析,社会关系网络的形成、发展以及演化研究等;⑤ 社会网络分析相关中层理论的应用也有所拓展,其中社会资本理论对旅游相关议题的解释力进一步凸显,这体现了社会网络分析在旅游研究中的应用由变量测度到测度解释的转向。最后,文章总结了社会网络分析在国外旅游研究中应用存在的问题与难点,并展望了未来相关研究的方向。研究成果有助于全面把握旅游社会网络分析的最新研究动态与趋势,为进一步拓展和深化社会网络分析在旅游研究中的应用奠定基础。  相似文献

This project combines qualitative data of personal narratives with geographic information science (GIScience) technologies to explore the potential for critical cartography in the study of mass atrocity. The case study used is northern Uganda, where millions have been affected by physical violence and hardship, displacement, and fear. Web-based virtual globes as a ready source of imagery for remote areas and derived spatial data imported to geographic information systems (GIS) provide quantified data that complement testimonials and other qualitative data from the field. Cartographic functions, geovisualization, and spatial analyses available in GIS are used to extract information from high-resolution remote sensing images documenting internally displaced persons (IDP) camps and quantifying evidence of crimes against humanity. These techniques explore spatial relationships and communicate results on the extent and impact of the atrocities in northern Uganda.  相似文献

论文系统综述了区域空间结构研究的多种视角与分析方法及其发展脉络,认为行为视角下区域空间结构的研究经历了从行为汇总到行为交互、地方属性到网络联系的转变过程。早期的空间结构研究多通过行为汇总与地方属性的分析,聚焦于区域内空间单元的属性相关性,具体包括社会区、同质区与空间邻域等视角与方法。近期研究则逐步发生了“关系转向”与“网络转向”,更多从行为交互与网络联系出发,分析区域的网络结构和空间格局,包括传统的功能区分析、社群结构分析、核心—边缘结构研究等。通过比较不同分析视角,论文最后提出未来城市与区域空间结构研究应加深对行为交互与网络联系的理解,加强对行为空间网络的中观尺度结构分析,在方法应用上需要避免“方法决定论”,并探索适用于多尺度、多要素的多层网络分析视角与方法。  相似文献

Co-offending refers to illegal activities that are committed by multiple parties together. Little attention has been paid to co-offenders' geographic background when examining co-offender groups. To investigate the impact of geographic homophilous relation on co-offending networks, we analyzed the offender data of electric bicycle thefts in Beijing between 2010 and 2012. Geographic information system and social network analysis methods were used. Three major findings are reported in this article. Most electric bicycle thieves in Beijing are immigrants to the city, and most of them are from a number of clustered places in Central China. Most co-offender groups are formed through inward offending ties, meaning that the co-offenders are from the same town or city; however, for the cross-area co-offenders, the co-offending networks tend to be complex. For the co-offending networks formed by cross-area co-offenders, a few key areas play important roles in the formation of co-offending networks as they supply more and dynamic co-offenders. The findings have theoretical and practical implications for understanding and managing co-offending networks for Beijing's electric bicycle thefts.  相似文献

信息技术的快速发展带来了“大数据”时代的到来,改变了城市的空间组织和居民行为,并使得城市时空间行为研究方法面临变革。本文在总结传统城市时空间行为研究方法存在问题的基础上,对影响其变革的数据获取与处理技术进行梳理,重点从居民时空行为、城市空间及城市等级体系3个方面综述了国内外应用大数据进行城市时空间行为研究的最新进展,构建了基于大数据应用的城市时空间行为研究方法框架。本文认为,大数据时代城市时空间行为研究方法的变革主要取决于对反映居民时空行为的网络或移动信息设备数据的挖掘、处理及应用,但是还需要进一步推动相关学科间的交叉与融合,加强社交网站等网络数据在居民时空行为和城市空间研究中的应用,并指导城市规划编制与管理方法的创新。  相似文献

Many scholars have demonstrated growing interest in GIScience in recent years, including use of open data portals, shared code and options for open access publication. These practices have made both research and data more transparent and accessible for a broad audience. This research may be open only in a limited sense for populations without expertise in the technology and methods undergirding these data. Based on two case studies using RStudio’s Shiny web platform, we argue that a process-based approach focusing on how analysis is opened throughout the research process provides a supplementary way to define and reflect upon public facing geographic research. Reflecting upon decisions we made at key points in each case study project, we identify four key tensions inherent to work in open GIScience: standardized vs. flexible tools, expert vs. community-led design, single vs. multiple audiences and established vs. emerging metrics.  相似文献

Today, online social media outlets provide new and plentiful sources of data on social networks (SNs) and location-based social networks (LBSNs), i.e., geolocated evidence of connections between individuals. While SNs have been used to show how the magnitude of social connectivity decreases with distance, there are few examples of how to include SNs as layers in a GISystem. If SNs, and thus, interpersonal relationships, could be analyzed in a geographic information system (GIS) setting, we could better model how humans socialize, share information, and form social groups within the complex geographic landscape.

Our goal is to facilitate a guide for analyzing SNs (as derived from online social media, telecommunications, surveys, etc.) within geographic space by combining the mature fields of social network analysis (SNA) and GISystems. First, we describe why modeling socialization in geographic space is essential for understanding human behavior. We then outline best practices and techniques for embedding SN nodes and edges in GISystems by introducing terms like ‘social flow’ and ‘anthrospace’, and categorizations for data and spatial aggregation types. Finally, we explore case study vignettes of SNA within GISystems from diverse regions located in Bolivia, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the United States, using concepts such as geolocated dyads, ego–alter relationships, node feature roles, modularity, and network transitivity.  相似文献

流空间背景下,多空间尺度网络耦合对创新至关重要已达成学界共识。综合运用区位熵与社会网络分析,识别32个电子信息产业集群,进而基于1985—2015年合作申请发明专利数据,运用卡方检验和Infomap社区发现算法,借助Pajek和ArcGIS等软件,揭示中国电子信息产业创新合作空间模式,探讨创新网络空间组织演化规律。结果表明:① 中国电子信息产业创新合作呈现集群互联的模式,集群区域的创新主体更倾向于同本地和其他集群区域的创新主体合作,这与非集群区域的创新主体结网方式明显不同,印证了关系经济地理学者提出的全球集群网络论断。② 集群创新网络社区的空间组织从位于集群地理边界内,本地化特征显著,演化为超越集群地理边界,呈现等级差异明显的核心-边缘层级式特征,反映出地理邻近对集群主体创新结网影响程度的动态变化。  相似文献

采用社会调查法,借助社会网络分析软件,运用演化经济地理学核心概念,对中国潮汕地区的纺织服装生产网络进行了案例研究。结果表明:①改革开放后,潮汕地方生产网络内部空间结构不断演变,从多点集聚向多个孤立集群网络演进,再向跨集群地方网络发展;②网络演化本质上是企业关系的变化,企业间关系是在外部环境作用下企业根据自身能力做出的战略选择,地理临近与路径依赖使潮汕集群网络结构得以保持(即"遗传"),企业创新需求作用下的路径创新推动了集群间联系的发展(即"变异");③生产网络演化机理的研究还应加强对路径创新与地方产业升级的研究。  相似文献

与其他研究视角相比,基于企业联系的城市网络研究在网络构建、职能划定和动力解释等方面都更为深入。结合国内外研究现状可知,企业联系视角的城市网络研究的新趋势包括数据来源的扩展、网络构建方式的突破,研究区的下沉以及基于企业间外部联系的考察;城市功能网络研究可以纳入城市网络研究的范畴,但后者要更注重数据和网络构造方式的表征能力。论文进一步对企业视角的城市网络研究中一些关键的概念和问题进行讨论,包括:嵌入性理论在企业网络和城市网络中的“桥梁作用”、企业联系的种类及其与城市网络研究的关系、生产者服务业在城市联系及相关研究中的地位,以及相关研究在社会经济发展中的作用等。  相似文献

在城市与区域转型发展的背景下,城市网络经历着剧烈的重构,广州和深圳是推动粤港澳大湾区一体化的主导力量,明晰其在网络中的发展定位与动态联系,对于引领区域协调发展具有重要的战略意义。然而,现有城市网络研究较缺乏对多尺度差异与实虚映射关系的关注,因此论文基于微博数据,从流动量、关注度出发,运用社会网络分析,探究了广深在粤港澳大湾区、全国、全球网络中的节点地位与联系特征。结果表明:① 多尺度网络下,广深不同的联系导向塑造了差异化的要素组织能力,广州辐射范围较广、联系相对均衡,深圳联系相对集中、与香港联系尤为紧密;② 实虚网络之间,广深的对外联系存在协同补充、路径依赖效应,且在各尺度下具有不同程度的体现,多重效应的叠加交融推动着区域联系趋向柔性化;③ 基于上述网络格局,广深应立足于不同的联系模式与发展实际,分别发挥区域交通枢纽及创新制度高地的优势,引领打造有序高效的区域网络系统。  相似文献
