贵州独山中泥盆统大河口组中含有丰富的遗迹化石Teichichnus Seilacher(包括5个遗迹种:潜穴及蹼状构造直立排列的Teichichnus rectus Seilacher,潜穴管具有二分枝现象的T.palmatus Seilacher,潜穴管近口孔部位膨大呈葫芦状的T.majiatunensis Wang,潜穴管近口孔部向上折曲的T.sinuosatus Wang和蹼状板构造呈S状扭曲的T.aff.sigmoi—dalis(Seilacher)。本文主要讨论其生态环境意义及地质意义。通过野外观察及研究分析认为:与层面斜交的Teichichnus潜穴管为造迹生物居住和觅食的活动场所,为Seilacher(1967)的Cruaiana遗迹相的典型分子;蹼状构造的形成系造迹生物在保持一定生态位下与沉积或侵蚀作用相关,并可确定地层的顶底面;潜穴管口孔的弯曲程度和膨胀程度是区分遗迹种的重要特征,可利用Teichichnus的遗迹种和其潜穴管与层面之间的交角分析其沉积环境的微相变化;Teichichnus潜穴管口孔多迎着主水流方向发育,可指示古水流的方向。  相似文献

描述了藏北比如地区中侏罗统马里组的遗迹化石8属8种(其中包括1个新遗迹属和2个新遗迹种):表面光滑无饰、具有较薄管壁和密集新月形回填构造的不分枝水平潜穴Beaconites biruensis ichnosp.nov.,沿层面分布的哑铃形潜穴Bifungites cf. hanyangesis Yang,圆柱状厚管壁的分枝并构成假网状的潜穴Biruichnus maliensis ichnogen. et ichnosp. nov.,窄长的、内肢抓痕的二叶形遗迹Cruziana ichnosp.,以垂直于层面的圆管为中央放射出排列不规则且粗细变化较大细管的多分枝潜穴系统Micatuba cf. verso Chamberlain,平行或微斜交于层面的圆柱状微弯曲或弯曲的潜穴Palaeophycus ichnosp.,栖管段有规律地交替向两侧分叉呈Z字形或锯形的三维潜穴系统Treptichnus cf. bifurcus Miller,平行层面的、具有蹼状构造的简单U形潜穴Rhizocorallium ichnosp.。西藏比如地区中侏罗统马里组有大量的波状层理、透镜状层理和脉状层理等潮汐层理,发育侵蚀构造,上部紫红色含砾粗砂岩、长石砂岩发育,为滨岸相沉积。马里组的遗迹化石以浅层内生迹的爬行觅食潜穴和居住滤食性潜穴占有优势,也见有节肢动物的爬行迹和系统觅食潜穴,且产遗迹化石的层位见小型干涉波痕,为近海浅水中至低能的沉积环境。  相似文献

四川龙门山澄水下泥盆统平驿铺组的沉积构造、岩石类型、遗体化石及遗迹化石组合的证据习惯地解释为前滨—近滨的沉积环境。其遗迹化石有平行双栖管迹、盔形双栖管迹、多向双栖管迹、海生迹、洛克迹、斧足迹、平管迹和丛藻迹等。本文仅对垂直型U形跳状构造潜穴的形态特征作了较详细的研究。包括的遗迹种有平行双栖管迹、盔形双栖管迹、多向双栖管迹等。  相似文献

对首次在吐哈盆地台北凹陷侏罗系发现的分布于不同剖面、不同层位中的动物遗迹化石进行了系统研究。主要分析了研究区内动物遗迹化石的特征 ,将之划分为六大类型 :( 1 )垂直居住迹 ;( 2 )垂直觅食迹 ;( 3 )“U”形管 ;( 4)潜穴系统 ;( 5)逃逸迹 ;( 6)停息迹。较详细地分析了各类型的形态特征和保存特点 ,简要分析了造迹生物的行为习性及环境意义。在此基础上 ,建立了本区动物遗迹化石的环境模式。同时指出 ,遗迹化石在陆相含油气盆地确实大量存在 ,并在储层研究中具广泛的实践意义。  相似文献

河南西峡盆地上白垩统马家村组沉积厚度巨大,达1 960 m,由辫状河沉积、曲流河沉积和湖泊沉积组成。在河流与湖泊沉积中,发育丰富的遗迹化石,共6种类型,分别为Skolithos linearis、Cylindricumichnosp、Palaeophycus tubularis“J”形潜穴、垂直分枝潜穴和垂直螺旋潜穴。从形态分析,大多数为居住迹,按照遗迹化石产出岩层的岩性、扰动特征和残留遗迹等总体特征,将所发现的遗迹化石层划分为两类遗迹组构,即软底组构和僵底组构。前者主要发育在纹层状极细砂岩和粉砂岩中,潜穴密度大,属种单一,包括Skolithos组构和Palaeophycus组构;后者主要发育在厚层泥岩中,潜穴密度较大,类型稍多,包括由Cylindricum ichnosp、垂直分枝潜穴J形潜穴和垂直螺旋潜穴所组成的遗迹组构。与报道过的其他地区陆相遗迹化石的对比表明,随着时间的推移,河流沉积中的组构特征在白垩纪有明显变化,而浅湖沉积中的遗迹组构表明造迹生物的扰动能力显著加强。  相似文献

现代生物遗迹的特点、分布和组合特征及其与沉积环境、沉积物性质的关系,对遗迹化石及古环境研究具有重要的实证价值,但现代生物遗迹研究起步较晚,国内研究成果较少。文中论述了滦河三角洲潮坪环境中现代生物遗迹的组成、组合与分布特征,并分析了遗迹组合与沉积环境的关系。研究表明: (1)层面遗迹以节肢动物、环节动物、腹足动物的爬行迹和拖迹为主; 层内遗迹包括垂直或高角度倾斜于层面的潜穴、平行于层面的潜穴,以居住迹为主,丰度高,类型多样。(2)建立了3种生物遗迹组合: 遗迹组合I以Y形和垂直管状潜穴为特征,局部丰度较高,表层潜穴和层面拖迹不发育,造迹生物主要为沙蚕和螃蟹,沉积物底层具有砂含量较高、水动力强、有机质含量低的特点,显示其出现于三角洲潮坪砂质沉积环境;遗迹组合Ⅱ以各种形态的层内潜穴和大量的层面爬行拖迹为特征,层内潜穴包括垂直管状、J形、U形、Y形和分枝形潜穴,丰度高,造迹生物主要是沙蚕和螃蟹,层面遗迹常见爬行拖迹和足辙迹,造迹生物主要为沙蚕、螃蟹、扁玉螺、寄居蟹,沉积物底层具有高泥质含量、高含水率和高有机质含量的特点,形成于三角洲潮坪中低潮区;遗迹组合Ⅲ以与层面近似垂直和与层面近似平行的层内潜穴以及大量的层面运动迹为特征,与层面近似垂直的潜穴包括垂直管状、J形、U形、Y形和复杂分枝形潜穴,造迹生物主要是螃蟹、泥甲虫及其幼虫, 与层面平行的表层潜穴主要是蝼蛄、泥甲虫及其幼虫营造的,层面上的运动迹常见为螃蟹足辙迹和鸟类足迹,沉积物底层具泥质含量高、含水率低、有机质含量高、底质固结程度较高的特点,产生于三角洲潮坪高潮区。(3)基于对遗迹组合和分布特征及其与底层性质和沉积环境关系的分析,建立了三角洲潮坪生物遗迹组合的沉积环境分布模式。该研究成果既可作为古代三角洲潮坪沉积环境的判识依据,也可为相似遗迹化石组合的沉积环境恢复提供佐证。  相似文献

杭州湾庵东滨岸潮间带软底质沉积中发现的造迹动物有泥螺、珠带拟蟹守螺、弹涂鱼、宁波泥蟹、沙蚕、竹蛏、虹光亮樱蛤、海葵以及鸟类和植物等,包括软体动物、节肢动物、环节动物、脊索动物、腔肠动物等5个动物门类,共计8属,营造的生物遗迹主要有运动迹(爬迹、拖迹、足辙迹)、居住迹、觅食迹(进食迹)、生殖迹、停息迹、排泄迹、逃逸迹以及鸟类足迹和植物根迹等。分析表明潮间带不同的沉积环境,造迹生物及其遗迹的主要类型、空间分布、丰度、多样性具有明显的差异。1)研究区潮间带不同的沉积环境,造迹生物种类与分布不同,其遗迹的主要类型和分布特征具有明显的差异性,高潮区沉积物主要是富含有机质的砂质泥,生物遗迹包括珠带拟蟹守螺拖迹、停息迹和生殖迹,泥螺拖迹和停息迹,宁波泥蟹的觅食迹、居住迹和足辙迹,沙蚕的拖迹、觅食迹、居住迹和排泄迹,弹涂鱼的爬行迹和居住迹,以及鸟类足迹和植物根迹,其中层面遗迹以珠带拟蟹守螺的拖迹、沙蚕拖迹和觅食迹丰度最高,层内遗迹以沙蚕居住潜穴丰度最高,分布面积最广,扰动程度强烈,宁波泥蟹居住潜穴局部密集,扰动程度强烈,植物根迹密集,深度可达50~60 cm,这些生物遗迹常与平行直脊波痕和干涉波痕共生。中潮区沉积物主要由灰色粉砂和含砂粉砂构成,含水率较高,植被较稀疏。中潮区平坦的潮坪上生物遗迹主要由虹光亮樱蛤的居住潜穴和竹蛏的居住潜穴和摄食迹组成,丰度较高,具有少量泥螺拖迹以及植物根迹和鸟足迹。在中潮区潮沟两侧,沉积物颗粒较细,常见珠带拟蟹守螺的拖迹,宁波泥蟹的居住潜穴、足辙迹,弹涂鱼的爬迹。中潮区潮坪上多发育舌型波痕,生物遗迹多与舌型波痕共生。低潮区沉积物主要是灰色粉砂和粉砂质砂,含水率高,多为汤底,无植被,常见遗迹主要是虹光亮樱蛤的居住潜穴,竹蛏的居住潜穴以及少量海葵居住潜穴。2)沉积物的粒度、含水率影响遗迹的清晰度;3)由于受潮水、波浪运动的冲刷作用,沉积物表面的遗迹易被破坏,保存率极低,底内动物的居住潜穴保存率相对较高。该研究不仅为杭州湾潮间带沉积环境研究提供了新的现代生物遗迹信息,而且也可为古代强潮河口湾潮间带沉积环境中的古遗迹学研究提供借鉴。  相似文献

Two new tetrapod burrow casts from the Naobaogou Formation (Middle or Late Permian) of Nei Mongol,China are described.It marks the first pre-Cenozoic tetrapod burrow from China,and one of the earliest records of tetrapod burrows.Comparison to other Permian and Triassic burrows suggests that these burrows were created by tetrapod slightly smaller than Lystrosaurus.Deduced from the morphology and sizes of two burrows and known tetrapods of the Naobaogou Formation,the burrow should be the production of a therapsid,most likely a dicynodon.These burrows indicate a seasonal climate and this area was semiarid or arid during that time.  相似文献

Gyrolithes为螺旋形垂直居住潜穴,是具成对附肢的两侧对称甲壳类所建造,出现在近海泻湖和河口湾等边缘海和极浅海环境中,常与半咸水条件有关。塔里木盆地塔中地区诸多钻井的下志留统塔塔埃尔塔格组上部大量发育有此类潜穴,在局部层位可形成强烈的扰动构造。伴生的遗迹化石很少,只有极个别的Beaconites。根据沉积学、地球化学和古生态学特征,这类潜穴形成在半咸水的泻湖环境中。这类潜穴外壁基本平直,在泥质沉积物中掘穴深度大而不变形,而且其充填物与围岩完全不同,这些特点表明Gyrolithes为固底控制的遗迹化石。  相似文献

The origin of Washington State's Mima Mounds has been debated for over a century, with numerous mechanisms being postulated. Subfossil Coleopteran (beetle) remains recovered from the base of a mound at Mima Prairie consist of species that would be expected in rodent burrows and nests; all but one species are obligate burrow inhabitants. These results suggest the past presence of fossorial rodents (probably pocket gophers,Thomomys mazama) in the mounds, although none live there at present. Whether or not the gophers created the mounds, they may well have been instrumental in maintaining mound geometry until very recently.  相似文献

Determination of the two-dimensional finite strain in turbidite bedding surfaces is important in both structural and sedimentological investigations of deformed sediments. The Meguma Group of Nova Scotia is one such sequence, in which the directional distribution of paleocurrent markers has been modified by strain. Previous strain determinations have used sand volcanoes as strain markers, which do not deform homogeneously with their matrix and, hence, may underestimate the true strain ratio. Intraclasts and concretions also suffer inhomogeneous deformation and are of limited use as strain markers. Hexagonal trace fossil networks can provide more reliable strain estimates but are rare. Widths of burrows exposed on bedding surfaces provide a new, straightforward means of measuring strain. Each burrow is represented by a pair of parallel lines. The separation of the lines is proportional to the burrow width, and their direction represents burrow orientation. The lines are tangential to the strain ellipse, which can be discerned despite initial scatter in burrow widths.  相似文献

Behavioural activities of the goby fish-Periophthalmodon septemradiatus were observed in the intertidal zone around Navinal coast in the Gulf of Kachchh, western India. Intertidal zone is broad, and comprise of creeks, which are muddy and vegetated by mangrove on eastern side and ridge runnel systems on western side of the study area which are hospitable for the goby fish. Different types of biogenic activities are observed such as crawling, pellet making, grazing and burrowing. The crawling activity is part of movement of the goby fish from one burrow to another burrow and pellet making activity is part of burrow modification. The grazing activity is feeding on the surface mud after receding of tide and exposure of the tidal flat by left and right movement of the front part of the body. The most conspicuous activity is burrowing, they construct unlined, vertical to incline ‘I’, ‘J’ and ‘Y’ shaped branched, circular to oval burrows with varying diameter and depth. In the muddy sediments goby fish produced circular to oval rimmed muddy lumps as surfacial expression around the burrows and further produced funnel shape depression and downward extended cylindrical holes, while in the runnels burrows are usually small and simple. The trail is consisting of fin marking on either side of the tail marks (grooves) which are radiate around the burrows. Occasionally burrows are interconnected in more than one burrow system which is nested within single funnel structure on the surface. The burrow systems of the goby fish in the intertidal sediments serves for protection and dwelling purpose and most importantly these burrows are irrigated by water which supply the oxygen and keep body surface wet. The overall dimensions of the burrow decrease towards the lower intertidal zone. In all, behavioural structure produced by the goby fish marks the combined activity of dwelling, feeding and grazing. The complex behavioural mechanisms have helped the goby fish to survive and flourish in the harsh intertidal environments along the Navinal Coast, in the Gulf of Kachchh.  相似文献

Three enigmatic structures in an outcrop of the Otway Group (Albian) of Victoria, Australia, compose the first known evidence suggestive of dinosaur burrows outside of North America and the oldest from the fossil record. The most complete of the Otway structures nearly matches the size and morphology of a burrow attributed to the only known burrowing dinosaur, Oryctodromeus cubicularis from the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian) of Montana (USA). The suspected burrows cross-cut alluvial facies and overlie nearby strata containing dinosaur tracks. The structures contain identical sand fills in their upper portions, implying a near-synchronous origin and filling; graded bedding in the most complete structure also indicates passive filling of an originally open structure. This probable burrow is a 2.1 m long, gently descending, semi-helical tunnel, with a near-constant diameter (about 30 cm) that connects with an enlarged terminal chamber. The structures are unlikely to have been caused by physical or chemical sedimentary processes, and hence are considered as biogenic structures; moreover, their size and morphology imply tetrapod tracemakers. Burrow allometry indicates tracemakers with a mass of 10–20 kg, matching size estimates for small ornithopods from the Otway Group. Burrowing behavior in hypsilophodontid-grade dinosaurs, which compose most of the dinosaurian assemblage in the Lower Cretaceous of Victoria, was proposed previously as an adaptation for surviving formerly polar conditions in southeastern Australia. This paradigm is explored in detail, particularly through actualistic examples of tetrapod burrowing in cold climates. These structures may provide the first clues of ornithopod burrowing in these extreme environments, while also establishing search images for similar structures in other Lower Cretaceous outcrops in Victoria.  相似文献

Some minerals are considered to be representative of specific natural environments. Among them glauconite is considered to be formed in marine deep platform conditions. However, the term glauconitic is misused to designate green minerals formed in marine outer-shelf environments. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray analyses of individual green materials were carried out leading to the identification of glauconite in the Purbeckian facies. Green glauconite grains predominantly occur as burrow fills and occasionally as faecal pellet replacements. Two depositional environments have been identified from bottom to top of the succession: (1) an argillaceous dolomitic lagoonal sediment formed in saline, shallow water; (2) a marl-limestone alternation deposited in a brackish water estuary. The crystallochemical properties of the glauconites change abruptly. These findings show that glauconite may form in coastal environments and not only in mid-shelf to upper deep water platform environments as classically assumed. Moreover, the glauconite composition changes with the chemical conditions imposed by the local environment.  相似文献

The limestone succession of the Middle Ordovician Volkhov Formation in the St. Petersburg region (Russia) exposes numerous horizons with firm- and hardgrounds below omission surfaces, which contain trace fossils attributable to the ichnogenus Balanoglossites Mägdefrau, 1932. Although known from the literature since 75 years, such trace fossils were previously only informally described as “Korrosionsgruben”, “Karandashi”, or ascribed to different ichnotaxa such as Trypanites, Arenicolites and Pseudopolydorites. Owing to their complexity and often high bioturbation density, the morphology of these trace fossils is difficult to capture. Ichnofabrics containing Balanoglossites triadicus were studied in detail from sawn rock faces, broken rock blocks and sectioned slabs, including those from historical buildings in St. Petersburg. Accordingly, different trace-fossil elements can be revealed in dependence on the original substrate consistency, reflecting various stages of lithification: Mineral-stained and Trypanites-perforated hardground surfaces are bioeroded with long elongated grooves which are assigned to the ichnogenus Sulcichnus. Subtle openings lead into the partly lithified limestone where they branch into complex galleries of B. triadicus. They are characterized by J-, U- and Y-shaped shafts and multiply branched tunnels, which gradually continue into the underlying firmground. Other portions of the ichnofabric only exhibit biodeformational structures or the strongly compacted and branched burrow networks Labyrintichnus, which is due to the original soft sediment consistency. Balanoglossites ichnofabrics demarcate certain omission surfaces within the Dikari Limestone and can be traced for more than 300 km, supporting the regional lithostratigraphical correlation. The trace maker of B. triadicus and related trace fossils is interpreted to be a eunicid polychate with the ability to bioerode and burrow the sediment. The studied material from the Ordovician is similar to the Balanoglossites from the type area, the Triassic of Germany, in many respects. B. triadicus is a very common trace fossil in Ordovician and other Palaeozoic rocks of Baltoscandia and North America but so far has been seldom identified as such but instead is commonly confused with Thalassinoides, from which, however, it differs in several aspects.  相似文献

Some areas of the seafloor, particularly the deep sea, are characterized by large numbers of apparently uninhabited or relict burrow structures formed by macrobenthic organisms. Because of low sedimentation rates or lack of physical disturbance these structures are stable for long periods of time and could potentially influence solute diffusion patterns in surface sediments. A two-dimensional diffusionreaction model which allows for diffusive rather than advective transport within stagnant, water-filled burrows demonstrates that, in the absence of advective irrigation, relict burrow structures are unlikely in most cases to significantly alter average solute distributions from those predicted by one-dimensional vertical models. This conclusion assumes changes in diffusive transport properties alone and does not account for any effects of relict structures on reaction rates or physical ventilation of deposits by bottom currents. Significant changes (≥5%) in solute distributions are generally produced only when the ratio of the halfdistance between burrows to relict burrow radii is ≤10 and sedimentary diffusion coefficients are ≤60% that in free solution. Because solute distributions in stagnant burrow waters are nearly that in surrounding sediment, sediment-water solute fluxes are also essentially unaffected by relict burrows except at extremely high abundances or fairly large differential diffusion rates between sediment and free solution. In contrast, even at low abundance, biologically irrigated or physically ventilated burrows produce major changes in solute transport and build-up patterns.  相似文献
