Two kinds of the empirical orthogonal function analysis method for decomposing the mean-field are developed and a comparison is made between them. It is proved that the mean-field can be decomposed using eigenvectors obtained from anomaly-field decomposition, and that more information can be obtained. An example of sea bottom mean temperature analysis shows its remarkable effect in depicting the distribution features of various factors, such as cold water mass, currents and radiation.A few problems concerning the efficiency of the method are discussed and two matrices of relationship which represent the space-time characteristics of the field are derived. In this paper, we consider the use of multiple antennas and space-time coding for high data rate underwater acoustic (UWA) communications. Recent advances in information theory have shown that significant capacity gains can be achieved by using multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) systems and space-time coding techniques for rich scattering environments. This is especially significant for the UWA channel where the usable bandwidth is severely limited due to frequency-dependent attenuation. In this paper, we propose to use space-time coding and iterative decoding techniques to obtain high data rates and reliability over shallow-water, medium-range UWA channels. In particular, we propose to use space-time trellis codes (STTCs), layered space-time codes (LSTCs) and their combinations along with three low-complexity adaptive equalizer structures at the receiver. We consider multiband transmissions where the available bandwidth is divided into several subbands with guard bands in between them. We describe the theoretical basis of the proposed receivers along with a comprehensive set of experimental results obtained by processing data collected from real UWA communications experiments carried out in the Pacific Ocean. We demonstrate that by using space-time coding at the transmitter and sophisticated iterative processing at the receiver, we can obtain data rates and spectral efficiencies that are not possible with single transmitter systems at similar ranges and depths. In particular, we have demonstrated reliable transmission at a data rate of 48 kb/s in 23 kHz of bandwidth, and 12 kb/s in 3 kHz of bandwidth (a spectral efficiency of 4 bs-1Hz-1) at a 2-km range. 相似文献

日照港位于山东省南部日照市石臼湾畔,濒临南黄海,港域开阔水深,常年不冻,又无淤积之患,,陆域西通中原和欧亚大陆,是一个不可多得的天然良港。石臼湾水深由西向东逐渐加深,离岸3km处的最大水深即达10m以上,平均水深也在6-8m之间。湾内无大径流注入,几条季节性小河兼作工业废水和生活污水的排放沟,流量为500t/d,其中COD含量约为100mg/L。
日照港始建于1979年,一期工程由万平口向南,建成开敝式深水栈桥煤炭专用码头。栈桥墩对海水动力条件改变很小,所以对湾内海水物理自净能力的影响甚微。二期工程以后,码头全选用重力式结构。正在建设中的东港区码头又位于石臼湾中间,将海湾西部海岸与外海隔开,破坏了原来湾内的海水动力环境、使石臼镇的工业废水和生活污水先排入港区,再外排黄海,污水在港池内滞留,恶化了港区水质,并造成湾西部水质质量下降。本文通过数值预测,给出了日照港二期工程以后各建设阶段工程对湾内海水物理自净能力的影响和水质恶化程度。 相似文献

A conceptual framework in which the model-based, space-time acoustic signal processing procedure known as matched field processing (MFP) can be handled in a consistent manner is established. A framework for strong-signal MFP based on standard statistical estimation theory, in which MFP is regarded as essentially an estimation problem in the strong-signal regime, is developed. In the weak-signal case, the necessary requirement of detection dictates that MFP then be considered a joint detection-estimation task. It is demonstrated that, generally, MFP is essentially a space-time processing problem rather than simply an array processing (spatial processing only) procedure. An overview of the processing schemes used to date in MFP is given, showing how these methods relate to the optimal space-time structure. Weak-signal detection and estimation scenarios relevant to MFP are then noted. Present methods for dealing with the inherent instability of MFP algorithms (mismatch) are discussed. Sea surface height anomaly maps of realistic eddy activity were obtained by applying space-time optimum interpolation to altimeter
data. Analysis error and rate of reconstructing eddy signals were investigated by taking account of: 1) dependency on orbit
configurations of single and multiple altimeters; 2) dependency on space-time scales of realistic, dominant eddies; and 3)
effect of space-time scales of eddy propagation. Large-scale sea surface height anomalies are subtracted from altimeter data
by applying an along-track filter to allow easy handling of eddy signals. The space-time scales of the first-guess error in
the optimum interpolation are statistically evaluated by fitting a space-time anisotropic Gaussian function to space-time-distributed
correlation coefficients of sea surface height using the TOPEX data. The results of the optimum interpolation clarify the
followings: 1) ERS has a better capability of reconstructing eddy signals than TOPEX. Comparison of maps from multi-altimeter
data shows that TOPEX+ERS has a better capability than Jason−1+TOPEX in lower latitudes and vice versa in higher latitudes,
though the differences are small. 2) The small space-time scale yields a low reconstruction rate in marginal seas and alongside
the equator. The persistent timescale is large, and westward propagation is dominant in the subtropical and subarctic regions,
where the reconstruction rates are high. 3) The optimum interpolation, taking account of eddy propagation, provides higher
reconstruction rates than that taking no account of the propagation. The effect of propagation on the optimum interpolation
is greater when it is applied to single-altimeter data than to multi-altimeter data.

In this paper, the effects of unequal injection rates and different hopping rates on the asymmetric simple exclusion process (ASEP) with a 2-input 1-output junction are studied by using a simple mean-field approach and extensive computer simulations. The steady-state particle currents, the density profiles, and the phase diagrams are obtained. It is shown that with unequal injection rates and different hopping rates, the phase diagram structure is qualitatively changed. 利用全国海洋综合调查资料和世界大洋数据库(WOD)资料,运用局部加权回归法(LOESS)四维客观分析方案对中国近海的温度场进行了客观分析,将散布在空间中的温度资料点插值到均一的网格中。在分析中充分考虑了中国海曲折复杂的海岸特点,将底深调整系统(TAR)和障碍调整系统(BAR)整合到四维插值系统中,使得资料点空间权重的计算更为合理。计算结果显示,LOESS客观分析方案充分考虑了空间因素(经度、纬度、深度)和时间因素,能客观反映出中国近海一年四季的温度时间-空间结构。通过与Kriging插值方法的对比,发现LOESS方法能更精确地把中国近海温度结构反映出来。 相似文献

Based on the processing and analysis of radar imagery received by the Radarsat-2 satellite in summer 2009 over the Oil Rocks (Neftyanyye Kamni or Neft Dashlari) oil production site in the Caspian Sea, it is shown that the images are full-fledged products, making it possible to retrieve information on the oil pollution and, under certain assumptions, estimate volumes of industrial oil spills. To map the space-time distribution of oil patches, the wide-swath mode of the Radarsat-2 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) with vertical VV polarization of signal is most suitable. The polarimetric regime itself does not improve the identification of oil pollution. The special quad-polarization mode in these experiments has not showed substantial advantages; the maximum contrasts were observed at vertical polarization. The displacement of a sonar array can be estimated accurately using the correlation of bottom reverberation signals, at successive sweeps. This is the principle of the pulsed correlation log. In this paper, the conditions and accuracy of array horizontal translation estimation are analyzed. The case of a three-dimensional array is considered first, to show that in this case arbitrary translation and rotation can be estimated. The case of a plane array is then analyzed and it is shown that such an array allows estimation of horizontal translation. The derivation relies on modeling the space-time correlation function of bottom reverberation, which is assumed isotropic. Both directive and omnidirectional transmissions are considered. This paper uses theorem of shakedown to assess the shakedown limit of elastic–plastic offshore structures. For this aim, an envelope of elastic response of the structure to cyclic loading cases is required. The shakedown limit is basically a valid collapse mechanism and can be quantified using yield line analysis. In this work, Melan theorem of shakedown (lower bound) is employed. Requiring simple elastic envelope and the domain defining yield lines only are the advantages of the Melan theorem. The shakedown analysis can be conducted by the finite element method (FEM), which is the main body of this paper. In order to evaluate the method of this paper, which is in fact combining the Melan theorem and the FEM, two steel offshore frames are analyzed using the proposed method and the results obtained are compared with the results of classical non-linear analysis method. 相似文献

In matched field processing (MFP) the spatial characteristics of a dispersive wave field are exploited to estimate certain parameters of the acoustic field, such as source location or characteristics of the acoustic channel including environmental parameters. In airborne MTI (AMTI) radar, interfering echoes (clutter) are Doppler colored due to the platform motion. Optimum clutter suppression requires space-time or space-frequency processing. Some thoughts concerning cross-fertilization between these two areas are put forward. In particular, the idea of space-time MFP is stressed.
