We present the results of our spectroscopic and photometric observations of the classical symbiotic star V1413 Aql in 2003–2007, which cover the transition phase of its hot component from activity to quiescence. Various quiescence criteria for the hot component of the system are analyzed. Judging by its photometric characteristics, the system had not yet returned to quiescence by 2007, although a fairly strong He II λ4686 Å line observed previously during quiescence in 1993 appeared in its spectrum. We model the continuum energy distribution for V1413 Aql based on a standard three-component model and a model with an accretion disk. Analysis of the forbidden [O III] and [Ne III] lines shows that the neon abundance in V1413 Aql may be enhanced with respect to the oxygen abundance. The cool component of V1413 Aql has been found to be a variable M5-type red giant, with the variability amplitude at λ = 7500 Å being at least 2 m .  相似文献

We present the results of our spectroscopic observations for the classical symbiotic star V1413 Aql performed in 2008–2011. Various states of the hot component are considered: almost quiescence in 2008, very slow outburst onset in 2009, outburst maximum in 2010, and gradual brightness decline in the erupted hot component in 2011. We have established that, according to a spectroscopic criterion, in 2008 the system was in quiescence. We have shown that the parameters of the hot component during its outburst can be determined only by modeling the differences of the spectra taken at different eclipse phases. The active hot component of V1413 Aql at the outburst maximum is shown to have had the record late (for a symbiotic star) spectral type K2. At various stages of the new activity cycle, we have modeled the continuumenergy distribution based on a standard three-componentmodel, a model including a standard accretion disk and a red giant, and amodel including a supergiant (of various spectral types) and a red giant. The parameters of the system’s components have been determined.  相似文献

The photometric UBV observations of AS 338 that we began after its outburst in 1983 are presented. They were accompanied by yearly spectroscopic observations and by occasional estimations of the star’s infrared JHKL magnitudes. In June 1993, the star’s optical spectrum was extended to the ultraviolet via IUE observations of AS 338. Collectively, the above observations make it possible to trace the evolution of stellar activity over a period of 15 years in various spectral ranges. In particular, a short-time return of the hot component of AS 338 to the state when He II lines reappeared in the star’s spectrum was noted in 1993. At this time, a blend of the C IV λλ5802 and 5812 lines, which is typical of Wolf-Rayet spectra, was detected in it. In June 1993, the temperature of the hot component was T h ≈ 8.8 × 104 K, and the ratio of its bolometric flux to that of the red giant was F h, bol/F g, bol ≈ 1.0. In August, its temperature increased to ~1.0×105 K, while the bolometric flux dropped by a factor of ~1.5(F h, bol/F g, bol ≈ 0.7). In the B-V, U diagram, the points referring to this so-called quiescent state form a separate group shifted in B-V from all the remaining ones located in a horizontal strip with $\Delta U \approx 3\mathop .\limits^m 5$ and $\Delta (B - V) \approx 0\mathop .\limits^m 4$ . This allows us to diagnose the state of the hot component without spectroscopic observations of the star. In October 1993, the hot component flared up again. The main brightness rise took no more than 19 days. The outburst occurred shortly before eclipse egress of the hot component, whose duration was ~0.01P orb. In December 1993, F h, bol/F g, bol≤1.5 at maximum light. During the recurrent, even stronger outburst in April 1995, F h, bol/F g, bol≤3.4. The Hαline during outbursts has a P Cyg profile and broad wings stretching to velocities of ±1500 km s?1. The color temperature of the active hot component at short optical wavelengths and in the ultraviolet lies in the range of effective temperatures for hot supergiants. Nevertheless, it always produces an H II region in the circumstellar envelope that is larger in size than this binary system.  相似文献

We present the results of spectroscopic and photometric observations for three hot southern-hemisphere post-AGB objects, Hen 3-1347 = IRAS 17074-1845, Hen 3-1428 = IRAS 17311-4924, and LSS 4634 = IRAS 18023-3409. In the spectrograms taken with the 1.9-m telescope of the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in 2012, we have measured the equivalent widths of the most prominent spectral lines. Comparison of the new data with those published previously points to a change in the spectra of Hen 3-1428 and LSS 4634 in the last 20 years. Based on ASAS data, we have detected rapid photometric variability in all three stars with an amplitude up to 0 · m 3-0 · m 4 in the V band. A similarity between the patterns of variability for the sample stars and other hot protoplanetary nebulae is pointed out. We present the results of UBV observations for Hen 3-1347, according to which the star undergoes rapid irregular brightness variations with maximum amplitudes ΔV = 0 · m 25, ΔB = 0 · m 25, and ΔU = 0 · m 30 and shows color-magnitude correlations. Based on archival data, we have traced the photometric history of the stars over more than 100 years. Hen 3-1347 and LSS 4634 have exhibited a significant fading on a long time scale. The revealed brightness and spectrum variations in the stars, along with evidence for their enhanced mass, may be indicative of their rapid post-AGB evolution.  相似文献

The photometric perturbationsB h (l) arising from both tidal and rotational distortion of a close eclipsing binary have been given in two previous papers (Livaniou, 1977; Rovithis-Livaniou, 1977). The aim of the present paper will be to find the eclipse perturbationsB 2m =B 2m, tid +B 2m, rot of a close binary exhibiting partial eclipses. This will be done giving the suitable combinations of theB h (l) 's and will make easier the application to real stars. After a very brief introduction, Section 2 gives both theB 2m, tid andB 2m, rot for uniformly bright discs; while in Sections 3 and 4 they are given for linear and quadratic limb-darkening, respectively. Finally, Section 5 gives a brief discussion of the results.  相似文献

The photometric elements of the eclipsing binary NSV 18773 (HD 99898) have been determined for the first time by analyzing its V-and I-band light curves from the ASAS-2 and ASAS-3 catalogs. Based on these elements and using other published spectroscopic and photometric data, we constructed a consistent system of geometrical and physical parameters for the system that consists of two stars (M 1 = 20M , Sp1=B0V, R 1 = 5.0R and M 2 = 14M , Sp2 = B1V, R 2 = 6.5R ) in elliptical orbits (P = 5 . d 049, e = 0.365, a = 40.1R ). The distance to the system is d = 3.3 kpc, the interstellar extinction is A V = 2 . m 0, and the age is t = 2.8 × 106 yr. NSV 18773 is a visual binary with components V A = 9 . m 9 and V B = 10 . m 3 separated by 0 . " 8. The third light (L 3 = 0.61) that we found by analyzing the light curves shows that the eclipsing binary is the system’s fainter component B. We confirmed the rapid apsidal motion of the star detected by Otero and Wils (2006) and refined its observed period: U obs = 150 ± 6 yr. Our photometric elements and physical parameters allowed the apsidal parameter $\bar k_2^{obs} = 0.0135(14)$ , which reflects the density distribution along the radii of the component stars, to be determined. Within the error limits, the derived parameter agrees with its theoretically expected value, $\bar k_2^{th} = 0.0119(8)$ , from current evolutionary models of stars of the corresponding masses and ages.  相似文献

We present the results of multicolor (UBV JHKLM) photometry (2009–2017) and low-resolution spectroscopy (2016–2017) of the semi-regular variable V1427 Aql = HD 179821, a yellow supergiant with gas-dust envelope. The star displays low-amplitude (ΔV<0 . m 2) semi-periodic brightness variations superimposed on a long-term trend. The light curve shape and timescale change from cycle to cycle. There are temperature variations characteristic for pulsations; brightness oscillations with no significant change of color are also observed. The UBV data for the 2009–2011 interval are well reproduced by a superposition of two periodic components with P = 170d and 141d (or P = 217d—the one year alias of P = 141d). The variation became less regular after 2011, the timescale increased and exceeded 250d. Unusual photometric behavior was seen in 2015 when the star brightness increased by 0 . m 25 in the V filter in 130 days and reached the maximum value ever observed in the course of our monitoring since 1990. In 2009–2016 the annual average brightness monotonically increased in V, J, K, whereas it decreased in U and B. The annual average U ? B, B ? V, and J ? K colors grew, the star was getting redder. The cooling and expanding of the star photosphere along with the increasing of luminosity may explain the long-term trend in brightness and colors. Based on our photometric data we suppose that the photosphere temperature decreased by ~400 K in the 2008–2016 interval, the radius increased by ~24%, and the luminosity grew by ~19%. We review the change of annual average photometric data for almost 30 years of observations. Low-resolution spectra in the λ4000?9000 Å wavelength range obtained in 2016–2017 indicate significant changes in the spectrum of V1427 Aql as compared with the 1994–2008 interval, i.e., the Ba II and near-infraredCa II triplet absorptions have gotten stronger while the OI λ7771-4 triplet blend has weakened that points out the decrease of temperature in the region where the absorptions are formed. The evolutionary stage of the star is discussed. We also compare V1427 Aql with post-AGB stars and yellow hypergiants.  相似文献

We obtained U BV R photometric and spectroscopic observations during the outburst of V838 Mon. Before its outburst, the B brightness of the star had been stable ( $\tilde15.^m 85$ ) for 45 years. This was a blue star with the color index $(B - V)_0 = - 0\mathop .\limits^m 03 \pm 0\mathop .\limits^m 1$ and may have been a cataclysmic variable. In the middle of March 2002, the outburst amplitude reached $8\mathop .\limits^m 1$ in B. The star has the counterpart V 1006/7 in M 31 in luminosity at maximum and in spectrum. The unusual spectrum at the premaximum stage originated in the expanding photosphere of a cool K-type giant. The expansion velocity of the photosphere was 150 km s?1; the maximum velocity in the expanding stellar envelope reached 500 km s?1. The absorption components of neutral metal lines were enhanced by a factor of 3 or 4 compared to a normal K-type star. No overabundance of s-process elements was found. One day before the brightness peak, an intense Hα emission line with broad wings, FWZI=3100 km s?1, and numerous lines of ionized metals appeared in V838 Mon, which is characteristic of normal classical novae. We show light, color, and spectral variations of the object.  相似文献

We present photoelectric and photographic observations of the supergiant HD 179821 with a large infrared excess, a candidate for protoplanetary objects. Over, ten years of our UBV observations, the star exhibited semiregular light variations with amplitudes $\Delta V = 0\mathop .\limits^m 10$ , $\Delta B = 0\mathop .\limits^m 15$ , and $\Delta U = 0\mathop .\limits^m 25$ , as well as systematic color and light variations. From 1990 until 1996, the yearly mean U-B and B-V color indices decreased by 0.25 and 0.15, respectively. After 1996, the motion of the star in the two-color (B-V)-(U-B) diagram upward and to the left slowed down. The color excess that we derived from our observations, by assuming that the star’s spectral type was F3 I in the 1990s, is E(B-V)=1.0. The photographic observations of HD 179821 from 1899 until 1989 show that its brightness m pg generally increased while significantly fluctuating. An analysis of the observational data suggests that HD 179821 is most likely a post-AGB star of intermediate or low mass.  相似文献

UBV observations of the X-ray binary system A0535+26/V725 Tau at the Crimean Station of the Sternberg Astronomical Institute in 1980–1998 are presented. Based on our and published data, we analyze the photometric history of the star from 1898. Over a period of 100 years, the star apparently showed all three activity phases (B, Be, Be-shell) of Be stars. We conclude that the X-ray activity of the object is attributable to the 1970–1997 outburst of the Be star due to envelope ejection. The star's colors during the minimum light of 1998 and its 1953–1956 colors (before the outburst) correspond to the spectral type B0–B1 at the color excesses E B-V = 0.74 and E U-B = 0.48, in agreement with the current spectral type O9.7. The minimum light of 1998 and the color excesses are used to determine the colors of the additional radiation, analyze their evolution during the 1973–1997 outburst, and refine the distance to the object (3 kpc). The colors of the additional radiation at maximum light of the star (1973–1980) match the colors of a hydrogen plasma with T e = 1.5 × 104 K which is optically thick in the Balmer continuum. The brightness decline corresponds to a decrease in the optical depth of the plasma; at $V \simeq 9_.^m 1$ , it becomes optically thin in the Balmer continuum with T e = 104 K and N e = 1010 ? 1012 cm?3. This conclusion is consistent with the model of a circumstellar envelope but is inconsistent with the existence of an accretion disk around the neutron star. All the additional radiation responsible for the optical variability is produced by a single source. The intensity of the Hα emission line at maximum light (1975–1980) is triple its intensity in 1987–1997, when quasi-periodic light fluctuations with P ≈ 1400d were observed [1]. At this time, the line intensity correlated with brightness. The Hα line was in absorption at the minimum of 1998, and, at present, the star's active phase appears to have ended.  相似文献

We investigated the properties of galaxy clusters in the region of the Hercules supercluster using observational data from the SDSS and 2MASS catalogs and the NED. We have selected 13 galaxy clusters with a total dynamical mass of 4.82 × 1015 M in a 100 × 45 Mpc supercluster region in the plane of the sky (0.030 < z < 0.041). In addition, our sample includes eight clusters from the immediate neighborhoods of the superclusters and ten field clusters at the same z. The derived properties of the rich Hercules supercluster are shown in comparison with the data for the poor Leo supercluster. The main parameters of the virialized galaxy cluster regions in the near infrared (K s ) for the Hercules supercluster differ from those for the Leo supercluster: the number of galaxies and the total luminosity (to a limiting magnitude of ?21 · m 5) increase with cluster mass (L K,200M 200 0.91±0.07 and N 200M 200 0.94±0.07 ), but the dependences are steeper by 0.28 and 0.22. In the virialized cluster regions, the fraction of early-type galaxies selected by the bulge contribution, concentration index, and u t= r color is, on average, 66% (60% in Leo, 70% in the field) among the galaxies brighter than ?23 · m 3 and 54% (51% in Leo, 61% in the field) among the galaxies brighter than ?22 · m 3. The fraction of early-type galaxies in the superclusters does not change with galaxy cluster mass and luminosity. The composite luminosity function of the rich Hercules supercluster is described by a Schechter function and does not differ from the luminosity function of the poor Leo supercluster for the luminosity interval [?26 m , ?21 · m 5] but differs from the field luminosity function at the same z determined from ten galaxy clusters.  相似文献

We present the results of our UBV and JHKLM photometry for the semiregular pulsating variable V1027 Cyg, a supergiant with an infrared excess, over the period from 1997 to 2015 (UBV) and in 2009–2015 (JHKLM). Together with the new data, we analyze the photometric observations of V1027 Cyg that we have obtained and published previously. Our search for a periodicity in the UBV brightness variations has led to several periods from P = 212d to 320d in different time intervals. We have found the period P = 237d based on our infrared photometry. The variability amplitude, the lightcurve shape, and themagnitude of V1027 Cyg atmaximum light change noticeably from cycle to cycle. The deepest minimum was observed in 2011, when the amplitudes of brightness variations in the star reached the following values: ΔU = 1 . m 28, ΔB = 1 . m 10, ΔV = 1 . m 05, ΔJ = 0 . m 30, ΔH = 0 . m 35, ΔK = 0 . m 32, ΔL = 0 . m 26, and ΔM = 0 . m 10. An ambiguous correlation of the B ? V and U ? B colors with the brightness has been revealed. For example, a noticeable bluing of the star was observed during the deep 1992, 2008, and 2011 minima, while the variations with smaller amplitudes show an increase in B ? V at the photometric minima. The spectral energy distribution for V1027 Cyg from our photometry in the range 0.36 (U)–5.0 (M) μm corresponds to spectral types from G8I to K3I at different phases of the pulsation cycle. Low-resolution spectra of V1027 Cyg in the range λ4400–9200 ?A were taken during 16 nights over the period 1995–2015. At the 1995 and 2011 photometric minima the star’s spectrum exhibited molecular TiO bands whose intensity corresponded to spectral types M0–M1, while the photometric data point to a considerably earlier spectral type. We hypothesize that the TiO bands are formed in the upper layers of the extended stellar atmosphere. We have measured the equivalent widths of the strongest absorption lines, in particular, the infrared Ca II triplet in the spectrum of V1027 Cyg. The calcium triplet (Ca T) with W λ(Ca T) = 20.3 ± 1.8 ?A as a luminosity indicator for supergiants places V1027 Cyg in the region of the brightest G–K supergiants. V1027 Cyg has been identified with the infrared source IRAS 20004+2955 and is currently believed to be a candidate for post-AGB stars. The evolutionary status of the star and its difference from other post-AGB objects are discussed.  相似文献

The method of evaluating the photometric perturbationsB 2m of eclipsing variables in the frequency domain, developed by Kopal (1959, 1975e, 1978) for an interpretation of mutual eclipses in systems whose components are distorted by axial rotation and mutual tidal action. The aim of the present paper has been to establish explicit expressions for the photometric perturbationB 2m in such systems, regardless of the kind of eclipses and non-integral values ofm. Recently, Kopal (1978) introduced two different kinds of integrals with respect to associated α-functions andI-integrals which have been expressed in terms of certain general types of series that can be easily programmed for automatic computation within seconds of real time on highspeed computers. Following a brief introduction (Section 1) in which the need of this new approach will be expounded, in Section 3 we shall deduce the integral $$\int_0^{\theta \prime } {\tfrac{{\alpha _n^\prime }}{\delta }} d(sin^{2m} \theta )$$ in terms of a certain general type of series and also β-function, which should enable us to evaluate explicit expressions forf * (h) ,f 1 (h) ,f 2 (h) as well asB 2m .  相似文献

Based on the Ogorodnikov-Milne model, we analyze the proper motions of 95 633 red giant clump (RGC) stars from the Tycho-2 Catalogue. The following Oort constants have been found: A = 15.9 ± 0.2 km s?1 kpc?1 and B = ?12.0±0.2 km s?1 kpc?1. Using 3632 RGC stars with known proper motions, radial velocities, and photometric distances, we show that, apart from the star centroid velocity components relative to the Sun, only the model parameters that describe the stellar motions in the XY plane differ significantly from zero. We have studied the contraction (a negative K effect) of the system of RGC stars as a function of their heliocentric distance and elevation above the Galactic plane. For a sample of distant (500–1000 pc) RGC stars located near the Galactic plane (|z| < 200 pc) with an average distance of d = 0.7 kpc, the contraction velocity is shown to be Kd = ?3.5 ±0.9 km s?1; a noticeable vertex deviation, l xy = 9 · o 1 ± 0 · o 5, is also observed for them. For stars located well above the Galactic plane (|z| ≥200 pc), these effects are less pronounced, Kd = ?1.7 ± 0.5 km s?1 and l xy = 4 · o 9 ± 0 · o 6. Using RGC stars, we have found a rotation around the Galactic X axis directed toward the Galactic center with an angular velocity of ?2.5 ± 0.3 km s?1 kpc?1, which we associate with the warp of the Galactic stellar-gaseous disk.  相似文献

New photoelectric UBVRI observations of the eclipsing variable V 1016 Ori have been obtained with the AZT-11 telescope at Crimean Astrophysical Observatory and with the Zeiss-600 telescope at Mount Maidanak Observatory. Light curves are constructed from the new observations and from published and archival data. We use a total of 340, 348, 386, 185, and 62 magnitude estimates in the bands from U to I, respectively. An analysis of these data has yielded the following results. The photometric elements were refined; their new values are $Min I = JDH 2441966.820 + 65\mathop .\limits^d 4331E$ . The UBVRI magnitudes outside eclipse were found to be $5\mathop .\limits^m 95$ , $6\mathop .\limits^m 77$ , $6\mathop .\limits^m 75$ , $6\mathop .\limits^m 68$ , and $6\mathop .\limits^m 16$ , respectively. No phase effect was detected. We obtained two light-curve solutions: (1) assuming that the giant star was in front of the small one during eclipse, we determined the stellar radii, r s=0.0141 and r g=0.0228 (in fractions of the semimajor axis of the orbit); and (2) assuming that the small star was in front of the giant one, we derived r g=0.0186 and r s=0.0180 for the V band. The brightness of the primary star in the bands from U to I is L 1=0.96, 0.92, 0.90, 0.89, and 0.88, the orbital inclination is $i = 87^\circ .1$ , and the maximum eclipse phase is α0= 0.66. In both cases, we accepted the U hypothesis, assumed the orbit to be elliptical, and took into account the flux from the star Θ1 Ori E that fell within the photometer aperture. The first solution leads to a discrepancy between the primary radius determined by solving the light curve and the radial-velocity curve and its value estimated from the luminosity and temperature. This discrepancy is eliminated in the second solution, and it turns out that, by all parameters, the primary corresponds to a normal zero-age main-sequence star.  相似文献

We present new photometric UBVRI and spectroscopic observations of the symbiotic star YY Her during its return to quiescence after a strong outburst in 1993. High-resolution spectra of YY Her at similar phases at outburst maximum ?=0.48) and in quiescence ?=0.37) are presented for the first time. The ephemeris of YY Her has been refined P=586d). The last two observed minima (in 1999 and 2000) differed radically in shape from the 1997 minimum described previously. Both were sharp and deep $(\Delta U \sim 1\mathop .\limits^m 6, \Delta V \sim 0\mathop .\limits^m 9)$ . To explain this shape of the V light curve, which is only slightly affected by nebular emission, it should be assumed that the cool component of YY Her fills much of its Roche lobe and has a hot spot on the hemisphere facing the hot component. The emission spectrum rich in Fe II lines, which is characteristic of symbiotic stars, was observed during the outburst, but high-ionization lines (He II λ4686) were also observed. The He I λλ5876, 7065 lines exhibit distinct P Cyg profiles; the centers of the absorption components are shifted from the emission ones by V r≈100 km s?1, suggesting moderate outflow velocities.  相似文献

We present the results of photometric observations of a bright cataclysmic variable TT Ari with an orbital period of 0.13755 days. CCD observations were carried out with the Russian-Turkish RTT 150 telescope in 2001 and 2004 (13 nights). Multi-color photoelectric observations of the system were obtained with the Zeiss 600 telescope of SAO RAS in 1994–1995 (6 nights). In 1994–1995, the photometric period of the system was smaller than the orbital one (0 . d 132 and 0 . d 134), whereas it exceeded the latter (0 . d 150 and 0 . d 148) in 2001, 2004. An additional period exceeding the orbital one (0 . d 144) is detected in 1995 modulations. We interpret it as indicating the elliptic disc precession in the direction of the orbital motion. In 1994, the variability in colors shows periods close to the orbital one (0 . d 136, b-v), as well as to the period indicating the elliptic disk precession (0 . d 146, w-b). We confirm that during the epochs characterized by photometric periods shorter than the orbital one, the quasi-periodic variability of TT Ari at time scales about 20 min is stronger than during epochs with long photometric periods. In general, the variability of the system can be described as a “red” noise with increased amplitudes of modulations at characteristic time scales of 10–40 min.  相似文献

We present new results of our UBV photometry for HD 179821=V1427 Aql, an F supergiant with an infrared excess, from 2000 to 2008. The semiregular low-amplitude (ΔV = 0. m 05−0. m 20) photometric variability of the star with a cycle period from 130 to 200 days is caused by pulsations, along with the instability of a variable stellar wind. V1427 Aql also exhibits a long-term trend in the brightness and colors that is probably attributable to a change in the stellar temperature as a result of mass loss episodes, which cause variations in the continuum formation level. We present the results of our JHKLM photometry for V1427 Aql in 1992–2008. We trace the trend in the near-infrared brightness, which agrees with the long-term variability in the V band. Based on broadband photometry, we have determined the color excess for V1427 Aql: E(BV) = 0.7. Based on low-resolution spectroscopy, we have estimated the stellar temperature and revealed variability of the Hα line caused by a change in the contribution from the emission component. The hypotheses of whether the star belongs to post-AGB objects or to massive yellow hypergiants are discussed.  相似文献

Long-term photometric and spectroscopic observations of the yellow symbiotic star LT Del are analyzed. UBV light curves are presented. Based on the observations of 20 cycles, we have refined the orbital period of the star, P = 476 · d 0 ± 1 · d 0. The brightness has been found to be unstable at some orbital phases with an amplitude up to 0 · m 3. We have measured the fluxes in hydrogen and helium emission lines and in continuum and investigated their relationship to the orbital period. The fluxes in hydrogen and HeI lines follow the UBV light curves in phase; the He II 4686 Å flux does not depend on the phase and is constant within the accuracy of our measurements. The intensity ratio of the 4686 Å andHβ lines changes from 0.2 to 0.9 over the period. We interpret the spectroscopic observations based on the hypothesis of heating and ionization of the stellar wind from a cool component by high-frequency radiation from a hot star with a temperature of 105 K. We have estimated the spectral type of the cool star from our photometry and its continuum energy distribution as a bright K2–4 red giant branch halo star. The bolometric luminosity and mass loss rate have been estimated for the K component to be L bol ~ 700L and \(\dot{M}\) ~ 10?8 M yr?1, respectively.  相似文献
