The National Bureau of Surveying and Mapping of China has planned to speed up the development of spatial data infrastructure (SDI) in the coming few years. This SDI consists of four types of digital products, i. e., digital orthophotos, digital elevation models, digital line graphs and digital raster graphs. For the DEM, a scheme for the database building and updating of 1∶10 000 digital elevation models has been proposed and some experimental tests have also been accomplished. This paper describes the theoretical (and/or technical) background and reports some of the experimental results to support the scheme. Various aspects of the scheme such as accuracy, data sources, data sampling spatial resolution, terrain modeling, data organization, etc are discussed.  相似文献

根据当前我国基础地理信息系统的发展态势,较为详尽地讨论了1∶1万至1∶5万基础地理信息系统的设计思路,提出了地球空间数据框架(DGDF)的概念,即基于数字正射影像和DEM及与若干层矢量框架数据(如大地控制、交通图、水系、境界、行政边界、注记等)的整体集成的栅格-矢量一体化空间数据库,目的在于尽快建立起有活力的和可更新的国家和省级基础地理信息系统。还详尽讨论了建立基础地理信息系统的主要技术路线和数据采集与数据处理的工艺流程。  相似文献

动态矿区DEM生成方法及其在土地复垦中的应用研究   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
首先根据我国矿区土地复垦工作中存在的不足,通过研究提出"动态土地复垦"的概念,并确定了动态土地复垦方案制定的数据基础——动态矿区数字高程模型。动态矿区数字高程模型应该包含煤矿生产对地表的累积影响结果数据和地表的原始地形信息,开采沉陷预计结果可以提供前者,地面测量可以提供后者,经过数据处理可以按时间间隔生成描述塌陷区的一系列数字高程模型(DEM)(准动态),然后运用DEM的空间分析技术提取塌陷区在不同时间段的土地破坏类型、范围和位置数据,并根据这些数据进行动态土地复垦方案决策数据的提取,经实例验证该方法可行。  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the application of high spatial resolution elevation data derived from light detection and ranging technologies (lidar) to surface hydrologic modeling. In recent years, airborne lidar technology has been employed to develop high accuracy digital elevation models (DEMs) with horizontal resolution on the order of a few meters. As with any spatial data product there are limits to the lidar's practical use that vary with the intended application. This paper considers potential issues and challenges for the use of lidar-derived DEMs in surface hydrologic modeling applications, such as characterizing flow direction and power, identifying sub-basins in a watershed, and calculating upstream contributing area and other variables. We compare results using conventional 30m DEMs and 6m lidar for a high relief study area and a low relief study area. Results are more comparable between these data sources, regardless of hydrologic operation, for the high relief area, while the similarity of results in the low relief area is dependent upon the particular operation. Post-processing on the lidar data successfully removed such flow obstacles as bridges that might have artificially impeded surface flow. An exploration of the effect of spatial resolution on results suggests that cell size is a more significant factor than production method.  相似文献

 The AUSGeoid98 gravimetric geoid model of Australia has been computed using data from the EGM96 global geopotential model, the 1996 release of the Australian gravity database, a nationwide digital elevation model, and satellite altimeter-derived marine gravity anomalies. The geoid heights are on a 2 by 2 arc-minute grid with respect to the GRS80 ellipsoid, and residual geoid heights were computed using the 1-D fast Fourier transform technique. This has been adapted to include a deterministically modified kernel over a spherical cap of limited spatial extent in the generalised Stokes scheme. Comparisons of AUSGeoid98 with GPS and Australian Height Datum (AHD) heights across the continent give an RMS agreement of ±0.364 m, although this apparently large value is attributed partly to distortions in the AHD. A procedure for the consistent application of digital terrain analysis methods to identify tectonic phenomena from geomorphology is developed and presented through two case studies. Based on the study of landforms related to faults, geomorphological characteristics are translated into mathematical and numerical algorithms. Topographic features represented by digital elevation models of the test areas were extracted, described and interpreted in terms of structural geology and geomorphology. Digital terrain modelling was carried out by means of the combined use of: (1) numerical differential geometry methods, (2) digital drainage network analysis, (3) digital geomorphometry, (4) digital image processing, (5) lineament extraction and analysis, (6) spatial and statistical analysis and (7) digital elevation model-specific digital methods, such as shaded relief models, digital cross-sections and 3D surface modelling. A sequential modelling scheme was developed and implemented to analyse two selected study sites, in Hungary and NW Greece on local and regional scales. Structural information from other sources, such as geological and geophysical maps, remotely sensed images and field observations were analysed with geographic information system techniques. Digital terrain analysis methods applied in the proposed way in this study could extract morphotectonic features from DEMs along known faults and they contributed to the tectonic interpretation of the study areas.  相似文献

Abstract

Geomorphologic and hydrologic research heavily depends on digital elevation models (DEM) which are currently being prepared from digital contours. The present study examines the use and applicability of freely available global elevation data source (3 arc seconds finished Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM)) in landform characterisation, geomorphometry, river basin studies and other allied scientific applications in comparison with contour elevation data derived from the surveyed topographical sheets. The relief data extracted from a conventionally digitised geo-information science dataset of topographic contours (1:50,000) are compared with the SRTM-DEM and the variations are analysed. The automated geomorphometric and landform parameters derived from the contour DEM and the computed statistical properties of those parameters have substantial agreement with the same parameters derived from the SRTM-DEM. At the same time, localised variations also exist in some spatial domains. Derivative landscape analysis outputs from the SRTM-DEM suggest the wide acceptability and applicability of the freely available SRTM data source, especially in the regional scale applications related to hydrological modelling, terrain characterisation, disaster management and land degradation studies.  相似文献

An Oracle8i-based approach is proposed to manage the integrated databases of large CyberCity. This approach consists of threeschemes: ① a special R -tree index is designed to accelerate spatial retrieving, in which the bounding boxes of local regions have no intersection and all leaf nodes of the R -tree (geometry records ) have no repetitiont;② different data compression algorithms are adopted to compress the digital elevation models, 3D vector models and images, such as LZ77 lossless compression algorithm for compression of vector data and JPEG compression algorithms for texture images;③ in order to communicate with Oracle8i database, a CyberCity GIS spatial database engine (SDE) is designed. A critical problem in hydraulics research is accurate measurement of fluvially worked sediments, both in the field and in scaled representations of field situations in laboratory flumes. Such measurement must provide information on individual grain characteristics, and their organisation into structures referred to as bedforms. Existing measurement approaches are based upon mechanical or laser profiling devices, which are both expensive and take considerable time to acquire data, particularly where information is required at very high densities. This paper demonstrates how conventional automated terrain model extraction software, combined with image acquisition using a Kodak DCS460 digital camera, has been effective in generating digital elevation models of complex bed morphology. This has reduced time spent collecting data in the flume and has allowed data collection at much higher spatial and temporal densities. Application of the method is illustrated by research carried out at Hydraulics Research Wallingford. Issues discussed include configuration of photographs and control coordinates; appropriate camera calibration methods; stability of inner orientation of the Kodak DCS460; and accuracies obtained. Comparisons with independent check data reveal that accuracies of ±2.5mm have been achieved using a camera-to-object distance of 4.2 m.  相似文献

A growing number of services are now being offered over mobile devices. They typically combine positioning technology, wireless technology and spatial analysis methods applied to detailed geographical, time based data to offer services in support of time critical, spatial, mobile decision making. A collection of research issues need to be addressed in the successful delivery of such services that extend beyond issues of sophisticated network algorithms. Specifically, careful attention needs to be given to: (1) people and user environments; (2) access to networks; (3) policy, privacy and liability; (4) standards and interoperability; and (5) data quality. Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) is the collective term for these interconnected issues and has been a traditional area of research associated with geographic information science. In this paper the particular SDI requirements for the successful delivery of Location Based Services (LBS) are explored through the development of a prototype LBS for journey planning. The initial implementation and testing of this prototype has revealed that the SDI context is well suited as a framework within which to examine the related LBS issues. From a more technical perspective, the testing has revealed that data structure and the means by which large data sets are mined (in order to gather information to present to users) is critical to the success of timely information delivery over limited bandwidth media.  相似文献

Kriging is a widely employed method for interpolating and estimating elevations from digital elevation data. Its place of prominence is due to its elegant theoretical foundation and its convenient practical implementation. From an interpolation point of view, kriging is equivalent to a thin-plate spline and is one species among the many in the genus of weighted inverse distance methods, albeit with attractive properties. However, from a statistical point of view, kriging is a best linear unbiased estimator and, consequently, has a place of distinction among all spatial estimators because any other linear estimator that performs as well as kriging (in the least squares sense) must be equivalent to kriging, assuming that the parameters of the semivariogram are known. Therefore, kriging is often held to be the gold standard of digital terrain model elevation estimation. However, I prove that, when used with local support, kriging creates discontinuous digital terrain models, which is to say, surfaces with "rips" and "tears" throughout them. This result is general; it is true for ordinary kriging, kriging with a trend, and other forms. A U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) digital elevation model was analyzed to characterize the distribution of the discontinuities. I show that the magnitude of the discontinuity does not depend on surface gradient but is strongly dependent on the size of the kriging neighborhood.  相似文献

Spatial interpolation has been widely used to improve the spatial granularity of data, or to mediate between inconsistent zoning schemes of spatial data. Traditional areal interpolation methods translate values of source zones to those of target zones. These methods have difficulty in dealing with flow data, as each instance is associated with a pair of zones. This study develops a new concept, flow line interpolation, to fill the abovementioned gap. We also develop a first flow line interpolation method to estimate commuting flow data between spatial units in a target zoning scheme based on such data in a source zoning scheme. Three models (i.e., areal‐weighted, intelligent, and gravity‐type flow line interpolation) are presented. To test the estimation accuracy and the application potential of these models, a case study of Fulton County in Georgia is conducted. The results reveal that both the areal‐weighted and intelligent models are very promising flow line interpolation methods.  相似文献

GeoStar is the registered trademark of GIS software made by WTUSM in China.By means of the GeoStar,multi-scale images,DEMs,graphics and attributes integrated in very large seamless databases can be created,and the multi-dimensional dynamic visualization and information extraction are also available.This paper describes the fundamental characteristics of such huge integrated databases,for instance,the data models,database structures and the spatial index strategies.At last,the typical applications of GeoStar for a few pilot projects like the Shanghai CyberCity and the Guangdong provincial spatial data infrastructure (SDI) are illustrated and several concluding remarks are stressed.  相似文献
