In the era of high precision CMB measurements, systematic effects are beginning to limit the ability to extract subtler cosmological information. The non-circularity of the experimental beam has become progressively important as CMB experiments strive to attain higher angular resolution and sensitivity. The effect of non-circular beam on the power spectrum is important at multipoles larger than the beam-width. For recent experiments with high angular resolution, optimal methods of power spectrum estimation are computationally prohibitive and sub-optimal approaches, such as the Pseudo-Cl method are used. We provide an analytic framework for correcting the power spectrum for the effect of beam non-circularity and non-uniform sky coverage (including incomplete/masked sky maps). The approach is perturbative in the distortion of the beam from non-circularity allowing for rapid computations when the beam is mildly non-circular. We advocate that when the non-circular beams are important, it is computationally advantageous to employ ‘soft’ azimuthally apodized masks whose spherical harmonic transforms die down fast with m.  相似文献

Photographic spectra of SN1987A in the LMC have been obtained from 1987 February 25 to 1988 June 30. Microdensitometer tracings of these have been reduced to intensity and corrections for instrumental response have been applied to the spectra. This paper presents these data in an atlas format, discusses the reduction procedures in detail, and presents radial velocity measurements of selected lines in the spectra  相似文献

A measured calibrated solar radiance in the range 1.2-, with the spectral sampling of does not exist. When studying the measured Planetary Fourier Spectrometer (PFS) spectra of the Earth's or Mars's atmosphere we discover that the most used solar spectrum contains several important errors. Here we present a “calibrated” solar radiance in the wavelength range 1.2-, with the spectral resolution of PFS , which we are going to use for studying Martian spectra. This spectrum has been assembled using measurements from Kitt Peak and from ATMOS Spacelab experiment (uncalibrated high resolution) and theoretical results, together with low resolution calibrated continuum. This is the best we can have in this moment to be used with PFS, while waiting to have good solar calibrated radiances. Examples of solar lines at Mars are given.  相似文献

A new numerical method for the analysis of the high dispersion photospheric spectrum is described. In particular the method is applied to study the C2(0, 0) d 3 Πg-a a Πu molecular band. From measurements of the equivalent widths of C2 lines, a rotational temperature of 4450 ± 305 K is obtained, and the band intensity log W 0 /S 0 = ?0.051 ± 0.101 is found.  相似文献

In this paper a numerical solution of the equations of transfer of the Stokes parameters in the presence of magnetic fields has been carried out. This yields the profiles of the Stokes parameters for three magneto-sensitive spectral lines (FEI λλ 6302.499, 6173.341, 5250.216). The magnetic broadening, temperature sensitivity and some other properties of these lines have also been investigated.In Unno's pioneering work, an algebraic solution of the equations of transfer of the Stokes parameters were obtained under a series of assumptions. Two of these are: 1) The source function B, varies linearly with the optical depth τλ; 2) The atmosphere follows the Milne-Eddington model. In this paper we have abandoned both these unrealistic assumptions. In consequence, our numerical solution agrees with observations better than the algebraic solution of Unno.  相似文献

Complete photoelectric spectra of the photosphere as well as of both umbra and penumbra of a typical sunspot, ranging from 3900–8000 Å, have been obtained at the Locarno observatory. An automatic scanning device, a high precision electronic divider and an on-line Oscillomink penless recorder enabled us to eliminate the noise produced by image distortion and to scan the entire visible spectrum within just 5 h. The recordings have a linear dispersion of about 50 mm/Å and a spectral resolution of 40 mÅ or better. Simultaneously with these observations the momentary continuous spot intensity and its fast variation with time due to seeing variations have been recorded with a frequency resolution up to 100 Hz. In order to provide as much data as possible for the correction of the umbral spectrum for parasitic light, we also measured the limb profile and the aureola intensity at several wavelengths.At present, the recordings are being processed and combined into an atlas, which we plan to make available in either numerical or graphical form.As a first result, we compare our corrected continuous sunspot intensities with those of other authors and derive standard reference data on the radiation of both umbra and penumbra of a typical sunspot. Finally we make a comparison between some radiative properties of sunspots and late-type stellar atmospheres.  相似文献

Observations of solar X-ray line emission using crystal spectrometers during a large chromospheric flare have provided a list of wavelengths with a precision of 0.003 Å in first order of diffraction and correspondingly better in higher orders. In addition to the resonance, intersystem (1 1 S 0-2 3 P 1) and forbidden (1 1 S 0-2 3 S 1) transitions of ions of the Hei isoelectronic sequence, we have recorded satellite lines arising from ions in the Lii, Bei and Bi isoelectronic sequences. These satellite features are most prominent in the iron spectrum. Apparent decreases in the ratio of forbidden and intersystem line intensities of Mgxi and Sixiii during the flare are used to derive electron densities possibly as high as 1 × 1013 cm–3 in the Mgxi emitting region and 1 × 1014 cm–3 in the Sixiii region during the event. A search for satellite lines on the long-wavelength side of the Lyman-alpha line of Hi-like ions has yielded no positive identifications.  相似文献

Mean profiles of eighteen neutral iron lines of varying strengths were measured at selected positions from the center of the solar disk to the limb. These profiles were obtained by rapid photoelectric scanning of the spectrum with a double-pass spectrometer. The Fe i lines selected are representative of most of the stronger low-lying transitions in the neutral iron atom. In addition to the iron lines, this observational program includes center-to-limb measurements of three Ti ii lines and of the Ca i resonance line 4226.7. The line profiles are presented here in graphical form after correction for instrumental effects and normalization to the local disk center continuum.Both Kitt Peak National Observatory and the National Center for Atmospheric Research are sponsored by the National Science Foundation.  相似文献

The solar p-mode spectrum of very low I is measured with high accuracy for a long enough period of time so as to allow the search for solar cycle variations. In this paper solar cycle variations of the frequency and energy of the modes are confirmed. Moreover, a slight variation,within errors, of its rotational splitting with the solar cycle, is suggested.  相似文献

The wavelengths and intensities of the stronger transitions in the spectrum of Ni xix are reduced from measurements of the X-ray spectra of three coronal active regions. The new measured wavelengths are consistent with prediction by isoelectronic extrapolation from the wavelengths of well established transitions but are about 0.01 Å longer than previously accepted laboratory measurements. This difference appears to be crucial to the correct assignment of features in the coronal spectrum to Ni xix. The relative intensities of our new assignments to Ni xix are in broad agreement with the Loulergue-Nussbaumer calculations.  相似文献

We analysed the emission spectra of solar prominences using the complete linearization method [5] and found simultaneously the optical depth at the line centre τ0, the doppler width of the line ΔλD and the damping width a. The results show 1) that the complete linearization method has a larger radius of convergence, 2) that we must consider the variation of the source function with depth, when determining τ0, and 3) that the calculated values of the damping constant for the H, Hβ of hydrogen and H and K lines of Calcium are all much greater than the theoretical values from doppler broadening and radiation damping, showing that other mechanisms besides these two also contribute to the broadening of prominence lines.  相似文献

A new solar wind model has been developed by including in the model the Alfvénic fluctuation power spectrum equation proposed by Tu et al. (1984). The basic assumptions of the model are as follows: (1) for heliocentric distances r > 10 R , the radial variation of the power spectrum of Alfvénic fluctuations is controlled by the spectrum equation (1), (2) for heliocentric distances r < 10 R , the radial variation of the fluctuation amplitude is determined by the Alfvén wave WKB solution, (3) no energy cascades from the low-frequency boundary of the Alfvénic fluctuation power spectrum into the fluctuation frequency range, and the energy which cascades from the high-energy boundary of the spectrum into the higher frequency range is transported to heat of the solar wind flow. Some solutions of this model which, on one hand, describe the major properties of the Alfvénic fluctuations and the high-speed flow observed by Helios in the space range between 0.3–1 AU and, on the other hand, are consistent with the observational constraints at the coronal base have been obtained under the following conditions: (1) the spectrum index of the fluctuations is near to -1 for almost the whole frequency range at 10 R , (2) the particle flux density at 1 AU is not greater than 3 × 108 cm?2 s?1, (3) the solution is for spherically-symmetric flow geometry or the solution passes through the outermost of the three critical points of the rapidly diverging flow geometry with f max = 7. Some solutions passing through the innermost critical point of the rapidly diverging flow geometry with f max = 7 have been found, however, with too low pressure at the coronal base to compare with the observational constraints. Heat addition or other kind of momentum addition for r < 10 R is required to modify this model to yield better agreement with observations. A cascade energy flux function which leads to Kolmogorov power law in the high-frequency range of Alfvénic fluctuations is presented in Appendix A. Sequences of the oscillations of solar lines up to 2 hours 20 min long have been recorded at the same point on the sun. The power spectra show several peaks separated by 0.85 × 10–3 cps on average from each other. A sharp main peak at 3.3 × 10–3 cps (300 sec period) is almost always present.These results suggest that the lifetime of the phase of the oscillation is much longer than that of the amplitude and is likely to exceed one hour. From high-quality direct frames taken by the Soviet Stratospheric Solar Observatory, using coherent optical methods, the two-dimensional spatial spectrum of the photospheric brightness field was obtained (Figure 1). This spectrum is isotropic and continuous. Spectral densities P(k) and A(k) = 2k P(k), where k is the radial wavenumber, were estimated for the solar disc centre, and their statistical uncertainty calculated. P(k) has a maximum near k = 10–3 km–1 and then it tends to fall after that to zero frequency. The k dependence of A(k) cannot be satisfactorily approximated by a power law. For the highest frequencies studied, the spectrum falls as k –9. The measured statistical uncertainty of the spectra of individual domains for k 125 × 10–4 km–1 is in agreement with that calculated for a gaussian homogeneous field. But for a higher k the uncertainty may essentially exceed that of a gaussian homogeneous field. The true rms value for 4650 is equal to about 29%.  相似文献

The24MgH+ (A 1+X 1+) molecular lines have been identified in the photospheric spectrum. The rotational excitation temperature determined from the analysis of molecular line intensities of24MgH+ is found to be of the order of 4850 K which corresponds to the photospheric temperature of the Sun. The CNDO/2 dipole moments of24MgH+ for internuclear distance range: (1.3–2.1) Å in theX 1+ state can be approximated byM(R)=4.92+1.33R. Estimations for the spontaneous emission Einstein coefficients (A v v ) and the absorption oscillator strengths (f v v ) for the (1, 0), (2, 0), and (2, 1) transitions in theX 1+ state of the24MgH+ ion are also made.Work partially supported by the CNPq, Brasilia under contract number 30.4076/77.  相似文献

The [SI] lines are due to transitions within the 3s23p4 ground configuration of neutral sulphur. The results are presented from a search for the [Si] lines in the Fraunhofer spectrum. Two identifications are proposed with faint features in the Fraunhofer spectrum: 1D2-1S0 at = 7725.02 Å and 3P2-1D2 at = 10821.23 Å. Their measured equivalent widths are shown to confirm the value for the solar abundance of sulphur, logN S = 7.21 (in the scale logN H = 12.00), which is derived from the permitted high-excitation lines. These lines give the first convincing identification of [Si] lines in an astrophysical source.  相似文献

Day to day observations of interplanetary scintillation on ten strongly scintillating radio sources over a period of twelve months show that the power spectrum of the small scale irregularities flattens considerably at temporal frequencies ν < 0·5 Hz. This flattening defines a scale which increases uniformly between 0·1 and 1·0 a.u. from the Sun. The implication of this result will be discussed.  相似文献

Equilibrium population of Fexiv levels in coronal conditions was calculated including configurations 3s 23p, 3s3p 2, 3s 23d, 3p 3, 3s3p3d, 3s 24s, 3s 24p, 3s 24d, 3s 24f. Relative populations of selected levels are given in Table VII. Figure 1 shows the dependence of relative intensities of the strongest lines on electron density. Certain line ratios can be used for the determination of N e .E.g., at T=2 × 106 K and with a dilution factor 0.4, the intensity ratio of λ211.3 and λ219.0 changes by a factor of 65 if N e increases from 107 to 1011 (Table VIII). Cascades from the 3s3p3d and 3p 3 configurations are important in the population of some levels of 3s3p 2 (Table VI).
