The paleoseismogeological studies within the two representative segments of fold systems in the Altai mobile belt (Altai Mountains and Mongolian Altai) have been carried out. These studies revealed the primary seismodislocations (seismic ruptures) of both the ancient historic and prehistoric strongest earthquakes. Based on amplitudes of single displacements (reverse fault and normal fault motions were 0.5–1.6 m) and with the significant strike slip component (more than 1.5 m) taken into account, the magnitude of ancient events in the Altai Mountains was determined at approximately 7.5. The recurrence period is 1400 years on average for the M = 7.0 events and 2100 years for the M = 7.5 ones. In the western Mongolian Altai, reverse fault motions were up to 2 m, corresponding to an earthquake magnitude of about 8.0 (an analog with the 1931 Fuyun earthquake). The recurrence period for the strongest earthquakes in Mongolian Altai was longer than that for the Altai Mountains, about 3000 years. This can be explained by higher magnitude values for western Mongolian Altai. It also can be concluded that the seismic regimes of the Altai Mountains and Mongolian Altai remained almost unchanged during the entire Holocene.  相似文献

由于对第四纪地层的严重依赖,传统古地震探槽研究方法在基岩区难以发挥作用,导致无法获取基岩区断层的强震活动历史。本研究以山西地堑系的交城断裂为目标断裂,以断裂北段2处基岩断层面为研究对象,通过三维激光扫描技术获取基岩断层面高精度形貌,基于变差函数法结合滑动窗口操作量化断层表面形貌特征,开展在基岩区提取断裂古地震信息的实例研究。结果显示,2处基岩断层面的形貌在高度上具有明显的分段特征,指示了断层面在地震事件作用下的分段出露过程。这种断层面形貌分段特征可以用来识别古地震事件和同震位移量。在思西村基岩断层面上,识别出由老到新的3次古地震事件,同震倾滑位移量依次为2.0 m、1.9 m和2.3 m,在上兰镇基岩断层面上,识别出由老到新的3次古地震事件,同震倾滑位移量依次为1.4 m、2.5 m和2.0 m,指示了交城断裂北、中段具有产生同震位移量大于2 m、震级大于7.5级的破裂型地震的能力。上述研究成果表明,基于三维激光扫描和形貌量化分析方法开展基岩断层面古地震研究,可以准确而高效地识别古地震事件次数和同震位移量,扩展古地震的研究对象,拓宽古地震的研究空间。在未来的研究中,可以适时地开展宇宙成因核素测年以测定断层面的暴露年龄,获得发震年代,给予地震序列年龄框架。  相似文献

This paper reports the results from a study on earthquake hazard assessment for the northwestern part (until now considered to have been a low seismicity area) of the northern Caspian Sea around Morskoi Ivan-Karaul Island where oil-producing facilities are to be built. This earthquake hazard assessment is based on the traditional approach by analysis and summary of geological and geophysical data (primarily fault tectonics and geophysical fields). Seismic microzonation was carried out by the dynamic method based on the comparison of ground motion spectral amplitudes at a reference site and at other sites in the water area of interest. The basic data were records of aftershocks of teleseismic events made by OBSs. The experiment in dynamic microzonation turned out to be unique, in the sense that it was conducted in very shallow water (1–5 m), where the level of seismic noise is affected, not only by currents, but also by sea waves. We stress the importance of seismic monitoring during the operation period of the oil-gas facilities to provide checks on the technological process and to ensure the ecological safety of the environment.  相似文献

Exploration and research of fault activities are the fundamentals of earthquake prediction and prevention and disaster reduction. In order to determine the location, characteristics and activities of the Zhengzhou-Laoyachen fault, shallow seismic prospecting with different exploration depth across the Laoyachen fault was carried out in the northern suburbs of Zhengzhou city in 2006. The images of the subterranean structure and tectonics at depths of 30m~6000m have been available by applying the combined methods of explosive seismic sources and vibrator seismic sources, as well as the combination of diverse observation systems with different parameters. The outcome indicates that the Laoyachen fault is a normal fault running NW and dipping NE, which offsets stratums ahead of Neogene (N). However, no fault displacements are found in the interior stratums of Q+N.  相似文献

The strong earthquake (M = 7) that occurred in the Fucino basin (central Italy) on January 13, 1915 was followed by six earthquakes of M > 5.5 and several other shocks of M > 5 in the major seismic zones of the northern Apennines from 1916 to 1920. This seismicity pattern is consistent with the implications of the present tectonic setting in the study area, which suggests that strong decoupling earthquakes in the central Apennines cause a significant increase of tectonic load, and possibly of seismicity, in the northern Apennines. A numerical simulation, carried out by an elastic-viscous model, of the stress diffusion induced by the Fucino and successive largest earthquakes, shows that each of the above shocks occurred when the respective zone was reached by the highest values of the strain and strain rate perturbation triggered by the previous events. Furthermore, the computed strain regime at each earthquake site is consistent with the known faulting pattern. The results provide important insights into the physical mechanism that controls the interaction of seismic sources in the central and northern Apennines.  相似文献

The understanding of geotechnical characteristics of near-surface material is of fundamental interest in seismic microzonation. Shear wave velocity (Vs), one of the most important soil properties for soil response modeling, has been evaluated through seismic profiling using the multichannel analysis of surface waves in the city of Dehradun situated along the foothills of northwest Himalaya. Fifty sites in the city have been investigated with survey lines between 72 and 96 m in length. Multiple 1-D and interpolated 2-D profiles have been generated up to a depth of 30–40 m. The Vs were used in the SHAKE2000 software in combination with seismic input motion of the recent Chamoli earthquake to obtain site response and amplification spectra. The estimated Vs are higher in the northern part of the study area (i.e., 200–700 m/s from the surface to a depth of about 30 m) as compared to the south and southwestern parts of the city (i.e., 180–400 m/s for the same depth range). The response spectra suggest that spectral acceleration values for two-story structures are three to eight times higher than peak ground acceleration at bedrock. The analysis also suggests peak amplification at 3–4, 2–2.5, and 1–1.5 Hz in the northern, central, and south-southwestern parts of the city, respectively. The spatial distributions of Vs and spectral accelerations provide valuable information for the seismic microzonation in different parts of the urban area of Dehradun.  相似文献

断层活动性的探测研究是城市地震预测和防震减灾的基础性工作。为了查明郑州老鸦陈断层的位置、性质及其活动性,2006年底,在郑州市北郊横跨老鸦陈断层进行了不同探测深度的浅层地震勘探,通过采用爆破震源和可控震源相结合、不同观测系统参数相结合的工作方法,获得了探测深度30—6000m范围内的地下结构与构造图像。结果表明,老鸦陈断层为一条倾向NE、走向NW的正断层,该断层错断了新第三纪(N)以前的地层,在Q N地层内部没有发现断层引起的地层错断现象。  相似文献

The effects of surface geology on ground motion provide an important tool in seismic hazard studies. It is well known that the presence of soft sediments can cause amplification of the ground motion at the surface, particularly when there is a sharp impedance contrast at shallow depth. The town of Avellino is located in an area characterised by high seismicity in Italy, about 30?km from the epicentre of the 23 November 1980, Irpinia earthquake (M?=?6.9). No earthquake recordings are available in the area. The local geology is characterised by strong heterogeneity, with impedance contrasts at depth. We present the results from seismic noise measurements carried out in the urban area of Avellino to evaluate the effects of local geology on the seismic ground motion. We computed the horizontal-to-vertical (H/V) noise spectral ratios at 16 selected sites in this urban area for which drilling data are available within the first 40?m of depth. A Rayleigh wave inversion technique using the peak frequencies of the noise H/V spectral ratios is then presented for estimating Vs models, assuming that the thicknesses of the shallow soil layers are known. The results show a good correspondence between experimental and theoretical peak frequencies, which are interpreted in terms of sediment resonance. For one site, which is characterised by a broad peak in the horizontal-to-vertical spectral-ratio curve, simple one-dimensional modelling is not representative of the resonance effects. Consistent variations in peak amplitudes are seen among the sites. A site classification based on shear-wave velocity characteristics, in terms of Vs30, cannot explain these data. The differences observed are better correlated to the impedance contrast between the sediments and basement. A more detailed investigation of the physical parameters of the subsoil structure, together with earthquake data, are desirable for future research, to confirm these data in terms of site response.  相似文献

Past and recent observations have shown that the local site conditions significantly affect the behavior of seismic waves and its potential to cause destructive earthquakes. Thus, seismic microzonation studies have become crucial for seismic hazard assessment, providing local soil characteristics that can help to evaluate the possible seismic effects. Among the different methods used for estimating the soil characteristics, the ones based on ambient noise measurements, such as the H/V technique, become a cheap, non-invasive and successful way for evaluating the soil properties along a studied area.In this work, ambient noise measurements were taken at 240 sites around the Doon Valley, India, in order to characterize the sediment deposits. First, the H/V analysis has been carried out to estimate the resonant frequencies along the valley. Subsequently, some of this H/V results have been inverted, using the neighborhood algorithm and the available geotechnical information, in order to provide an estimation of the S-wave velocity profiles at the studied sites.Using all these information, we have characterized the sedimentary deposits in different areas of the Doon Valley, providing the resonant frequency, the soil thickness, the mean S-wave velocity of the sediments, and the mean S-wave velocity in the uppermost 30 m.  相似文献

—The Nikko region, in northern Kanto, central Japan, which is a high seismicity region, is located near the volcanic front. Many seismic observations have been carried out around the Nikko region because the seismograms of the shallow earthquakes occurring in this region show an S-wave reflected phase (SxS) and an S-to-P mode-converted and reflected phase (SxP) from a mid-crustal seismic velocity discontinuity. The depth of the mid-crustal reflector was estimated to be about 9–16 km. From the amplitude analyses of SxS and SxP phases, the material of the mid-crustal layer just beneath the reflector was expected to be a low rigidity layer, which was interpreted as partially molten rocks. No evidence has been shown for the internal properties of the material of the reflector. The Vp/Vs ratio is a good measure to distinguish between the two candidates for seismic reflectors; i.e., partially molten rocks and rocks containing water. We investigate the Vp/Vs ratio of the reflector using the spectrum analyses of the data observed by a seismic array. From spectrum analysis of the data, we indicate that the Vp/Vs ratio of 2.5 is better than that of 1.8 to explain the observed data, which shows that the material beneath the reflector consists of partially molten rocks.  相似文献

Seismic hazard assessment for Quetta is carried out using probabilistic seismic hazard analysis technique based on area sources and augmented by line source used for the first time in Pakistan. Seismic data has been collected and analyzed in spatial and temporal domains. Five Seismic Zones have been modeled in line with tectonics of the region with b-value of 1.14 using regression. The b-value is slightly higher, which is attributed to the fact that aftershocks were not removed as it distorted the dataset. Five fault sources are modeled, with three as reverse and two as strike-slip with 7.8 as maximum magnitude. Mach Structure is included in the tectonics for the first time. The attenuation relation used in the present study is recommended by various researchers. The expected Peak Ground Acceleration for 500-year return period is 4.79 m/s2 for rock outcrop and characterized as very high. Furthermore, variation in spectral acceleration within Quetta city is observed, for which spectral curves are developed for four different places.  相似文献

北京地区历史上发生多次破坏性地震.在未来50年超越概率10%的中国地震烈度区划中,北京地区烈度为Ⅷ度.北京邻区强震对北京地震烈度的影响已经有一些研究.然而,如果北京地区的断裂发生强震,其地震烈度将有多大?又是如何分布?这是防震减灾所关注的问题.北京活断层研究表明,黄庄—高丽营等断裂具有第四纪分段活动特征.本文首先用有限元方法对北京地区活动地震断裂地震安全度进行评估,确定了黄庄—高丽营断裂(北段)是其中地震安全度相对最低的断裂;然后在此断裂上设定一个MS7.2的情景地震,使用可以考虑真实起伏地形影响的任意曲线网格有限差分方法模拟了这个设定地震在北京地区引起的强地面运动特征和烈度分布细节.强地面运动模拟结果表明,峰值速度PGV>0.7 m·s-1的区域集中在沿断裂东侧的8~9 km宽的条带内,最大值达1 m·s-1;烈度分布显示断裂周围20 km内大都超过Ⅷ度.本文结果可为防震减灾提供参考依据.

地壳结构的揭示是研究陆缘伸展机制的基础.尽管在南海北部陆缘已开展了大量地壳尺度的二维地震探测,但目前还存在许多覆盖空白的地区,这些调查所得到的结果无法提供地壳结构的区域视图.为了揭示南海北部的地壳结构,本研究将水深和沉积物厚度信息作为约束条件,对空间重力异常进行区域三维反演,并利用地震研究的结果来衡量反演结果的质量.沿地震测线的密度切片显示,重力反演结果与地震研究结果具有良好的一致性.本研究通过选择两个与地震研究结果最匹配的密度异常等值面分别作为康拉德面和莫霍面,获取了莫霍面深度和上、下地壳的厚度.根据假设的相应初始地壳厚度,本研究进一步计算了全地壳、上地壳和下地壳的拉张因子.通过与已发表的居里面深度比较,发现南海北部大部分地区的居里面深度均位于莫霍面之下,其中西沙海槽的拉张因子βw大于3.5并且缺乏岩浆活动,是地幔橄榄岩蛇纹石化的潜在区域.南海北部陆缘的地壳拉张因子显示其经历了伸展方向为128°和160°的两组张裂运动,分别对应于神弧运动和珠琼运动一幕及二幕,在张裂过程中应力场发生了顺时针旋转.此外,上、下地壳的拉张因子表明北部陆缘普遍存在正向和反向差异伸展,陆架区域表现为反向差异伸展,洋陆过渡带为正向差异伸展,推测这种正向和反向差异伸展可能是由下地壳流动导致的,由地壳厚度差异引起的横向梯度力、软流圈浮力和沉积物负载共同驱动.

—The plate boundary along the north-central Caribbean margin is geologically complex. Our understanding of this complexity is hampered by the fact that plate motions are relatively slow (1 to 2 cm/yr), so that recent seismicity often does not provide a complete picture of tectonic deformation. Studies of the faulting processes of instrumentally recorded earthquakes occurring prior to 1962 thus provide important information regarding the nature and rate of seismic deformation within the region, and are essential for a comprehensive assessment of seismic hazard. We have conducted body waveform modeling studies of eight earthquakes which occurred along the north-central Caribbean plate margin, extending from southeastern Cuba to the Swan Island fracture zone (75 to 83°W). None of these earthquakes has been previously studied and several occurred in regions where no recent (post-1962) seismicity has been recorded. The plate margin in the western portion of our study area is characterized by a transform fault-spreading center system. In the central and eastern portions of our study area the plate margin is a complex, diffuse region of deformation that couples transform motion in the Cayman trough to subduction along the Lesser Antilles arc. Our results show that the western portion of the study area has only experienced large strike-slip earthquakes. Off southeastern Cuba two earthquakes appear to have occurred on high angle, northward dipping, reverse faults with south to southeastward directed slip vectors. An earthquake in northern Jamaica in 1957 shows pure strike-slip faulting, most likely along an east-west trending fault. Finally, an unusual sequence of events located in the Pedro Bank region ~70 km southwest of Jamaica has a mainshock with a reverse-oblique mechanism, suggesting continuity of the plate interface stress field well south of the northern Caribbean margin.  相似文献

Ambient noise measurements have been performed at local and small scales in the Neapolitan and surrounding areas (Campania, southern Italy) by employing two broad-band Kinemetrics Q330 stations, equipped with Episensor ES-T three component accelerometers. In both experiments frequency time analysis (FTAN method) has been performed on the vertical and radial components of noise cross correlations to retrieve the Rayleigh wave dispersion (Green??s function). At local scale, over an interstation distance of about 26?km, the group velocity dispersion values have been compared with those obtained from FTAN analysis on recordings of two earthquakes with similar path. At small scale, measurements have been carried out over an interstation distance of about 440?m in the public gardens of Scampia, the northernmost quarter of Naples. The Rayleigh wave group velocity dispersion data obtained from noise cross correlation, have been combined with those from active seismic experiment along the same alignment, but shorter (120?m offset). The non linear inversion of such a dispersion curve has allowed the definition of V S models to depths of 100?m, in agreement with nearby stratigraphy. Moreover, a good agreement has resulted for the resonance frequency among the H/V ratio, the ellipticity of the fundamental mode computed for the chosen V S model, and the average two-dimensional (2D) spectral amplification computed along a cross section representative of the Scampia quarter.  相似文献

基于在鄂尔多斯盆地与其北部造山带地域,即沿延川—包头—满都拉地带进行的地震宽角反射和折射波场探测,取得了高分辨率的Pg波震相.通过走时差分层析成像方法进行Pg波波场走时反演,给出了沿剖面辖区的上地壳速度分布,求得了沉积建造和结晶基底折射界面的起伏变化,并给予了解释.研究结果表明,鄂尔多斯盆地上地壳为双层结构,上下层之间存在明显的折射界面,上层速度低,纵向变化梯度大;下层速度高,变化较为均匀.基于沿剖面辖区上地壳的速度分布特征提出自南向北应分为:榆林南凹陷、榆林—刀兔隆起、刀兔北至鄂尔多斯北缘断裂为箕形凹陷及其内部的次级构造、呼包凹陷以及伴随的断裂等沉积建造和结晶基底的起伏变化.阴山造山带上地壳速度明显比两侧地区高,速度呈纵向条带状展布,故呈现出结晶基底结构的分布特征和乌拉山、色尔腾山、和教岩体及白云鄂博群陆壳拼合及增生现象.内蒙造山带上地壳亦为双层结构,但基底折射界面不如鄂尔多斯块体明显.本文基于对该区沉积建造和结晶基底的起伏,讨论了沿剖面各有关凹陷的沉积特征与油气前景.  相似文献

利用山东数字地震台网记录到的胶东半岛及附近地区2010年以来的地震波形资料,采用Brune模型,并结合遗传算法反演了本区134次2.0级以上地震的震源波谱参数.结果表明胶东半岛地区中小地震的地震矩在9.76×1011~5.9×1014N·M之间;应力降范围在0.017~25MPa之间,均值是0.97MPa;视应力范围在0.06~10.2MPa,平均应力水平在0.396MPa.地震矩、应力降和视应力都与震级呈正相关关系,拐角频率与震级的关系不是很明显;地震矩和拐角频率成负相关关系.根据本区震源参数和震级的定量统计关系,去除震级影响,通过应力降和视应力随时间的变化得到目前正处于应力的释放时期.  相似文献

An analysis of the influence that reservoir levels and bottom sediment properties (especially on the degree of saturation) have on the dynamic response of arch dams is carried out. For this purpose, a Boundary Element Model developed by the authors that allows the direct dynamic study of problems that incorporate scalar (dammed up water), viscoelastic (dam and soil site) and poroelastic media (bottom sediments in the reservoir) is used. All of the regions are discretized using boundary elements, later formulating equations of compatibility and equilibrium that allow their interaction to be rigorously established. The seismic excitation consists in plane longitudinal waves (P waves) and shear waves (S waves) impinging the dam site with an angle of vertical incidence. The analysis is carried out in the frequency domain, and the time response is obtained, for synthesized artificial accelerograms defined in terms of the elastic response spectrum taken from Eurocode 8, using a FFT algorithm. The variables used to characterize the response are: Amplitude of the complex-valued frequency-response function, acceleration response spectra and the integral of velocity of points located at the structure. These variables clearly indicate the importance that the factors analyzed have on the dynamic response.  相似文献

盘锦、海城、营口地区是辽宁省内地震活动性最强、地震危险性最高的地区。该地区开展了大量重点工程地震安全性评价、区域性地震区划和地震小区划工作,但尚未开展基于场地条件的区域尺度地震危险性研究。独有的沉积特点使该地区场地条件较复杂,因此在地震危险性概率分析中考虑场地条件是必要的。本文基于新一代中国地震动参数区划图基本原理和技术原则,结合盘锦、海城、营口地区场地条件特征,采用基于地形坡度的方法对场地条件进行分类,确定场地地震动影响系数,给出该地区基于区域场地条件的地震危险性分布,相关研究结果可为地震风险评估和防震减灾规划提供参考。  相似文献
