Propagation of cylindrical and spherical ion acoustic solitary waves in plasmas consisting of cold ions, superthermal electrons and thermal positrons are investigated. It is shown that cylindrical/spherical Korteweg-de-Vries equation governs the dynamics of ion-acoustic solitons. The effects of nonplanar geometry and also superthermal electrons on the characteristics of solitary wave structures are studied using numerical simulations. Obtained results are compared with the results of the other published papers and errors in the results of some papers are pointed. 相似文献

In the new investigation of dust-ion acoustic (DIA) waves with negative dust charges and weakly relativistic ions and electrons in the plasma, compressive and rarefactive DIA solitons of interesting characters are established through the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. Eventually, the amplitudes of the compressive DIA solitons are found to be constant at some critical temperature ratio α c (electron to ion temperature ratio) identifying some critical dust charge Z dc . It is predicted, that the reception of dust charges by the plasma particles at the variation of temperature starts functioning to the growth of compressive soliton’s constant stage of amplitude after the state of critical α c . The identification of critical dust charge (Z dc ) which is found to be very great for solitons of constant amplitudes becomes feasible for very small dust to ion density ratio (σ). But it can be achieved, we observe, due to the relativistic increase in ion-density as in mass, which is also a salient feature of this investigation. 相似文献

Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation for electrostatic wave in an unmagnetized negative ion plasma with superthermal electrons
is derived using reductive perturbation technique. A generalized Lorentzian distribution (kappa distribution) is assumed for
the electrons. The influence of spectral index (kappa) on the soliton is discussed in the presence of the negative ions. It
is found that different plasma parameters such as (negative ion temperature, positive ion temperature, negative ion concentration,
mass ratio of positive to negative ion) in the presence of superthermal electrons modify the ion acoustic solitary wave structure
significantly. 相似文献

The current-driven electrostatic solitons and shocks are investigated in flowing plasmas having stationary dust and non-Maxwellian electrons. The propagation of solar wind parallel to the external magnetic field in the boundary regions of dusty magnetospheres of planets can give rise to drift type unstable electrostatic waves and nonlinear structures even if density is homogeneous. These waves can be produced in laboratory plasma experiments as well. Here the theoretical model is applied to Saturn’s magnetosphere. 相似文献

The properties of cylindrical and spherical ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) are investigated in a three-component unmagnetized, collisionless plasma consisting of warm ion fluid and superthermally distributed electrons and positrons in a nonplanar cylindrical or spherical geometry. Using the reductive perturbation technique, the nonplanar cylindrical and spherical Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations are derived. The effects of spectral index of electron and positron, and other plasma parameters are studied. It is found that both negative as well as positive solitary potential structures are formed in nonplanar geometries. The numerical solution shows that amplitude of the soliton is large in spherical geometry in comparison with cylindrical geometry. Numerical results indicate that the amplitude of the soliton is large in spherical geometry in comparison with cylindrical geometry. 相似文献

Linear and nonlinear propagation of dust drift waves are investigated in the presence of Cairns and Kappa distributed ion population and Boltzmannian electrons. It is found the frequency of the dust drift wave is greatest for the Cairns, intermediate for Kappa and the least for the Maxwellian distributed ions. Using the drift approximation, a nonlinear equation is derived for the dust drift shock waves which reduces to a Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers (KdVB)-like equation in the comoving frame of reference. The solution of the KdVB-like equation is obtained using the tanh method. It is found that the non-Maxwellian ion population, dust neutral collision frequency as well as the inverse dust density scale length inhomogeneity alter the propagation characteristics of the nonlinear dust drift shock waves. Interestingly, it is found that the non-Maxwellian ion population modifies the scale lengths over which the nonlinear structures are formed. The work presented here may be useful to understand the low frequency electrostatic shock waves in inhomogeneous dusty plasmas such as those found in planetary environments. 相似文献

This article presents the first study of the head-on collision of two ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) in magnetized plasmas with nonextensive electrons and positrons using the extended Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. The effects of the ion gyro-frequency to ion plasma frequency ratio, the positron to ion number density ratio, the electrons temperature to positrons temperature ratio, and the nonextensive parameter q on the phase shifts are investigated. It is shown that these factors significantly modify the phase shifts. 相似文献

A rigorous theoretical investigation has been made on the obliquely propagating dust-acoustic (DA) waves in a magnetized dusty plasmas consisting of distinct temperature q-distributed electrons with distinct strength of nonextensivities, nonthermal ions and negatively charged mobile dust grains, and analyzed by deriving the Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation. It is found that the characteristics and the properties of the DA solitary waves (DASWs) are significantly modified by the external magnetic field, relative temperature ratio of ions, relative number densities of electrons as well as ions, the nonextensivity of electrons, nonthermality of ions and the obliqueness of the system. The possible implications of the results obtained from this analysis in space and laboratory dusty plasmas are briefly addressed. 相似文献

The propagation of dust ion acoustic waves is studied in plasmas composed of superthermal distributed electrons and stationary dust particles. The nonlinear Schrödinger equation is derived using the reductive perturbation technique and the modulational instability of dust ion acoustic waves is analyzed. Parametric investigations indicate that the presence of superthermal distributed electrons significantly modify the modulational instability and its growth rate. The effect of particle relative density on the wave characters is also investigated. 相似文献

The propagation of solitary waves in an unmagnetized collisional dusty plasma consisting of a negatively charged dust fluid,
positively charged ions, isothermal electrons, and background neutral particles is studied. The ionization, ion loss, ion–neutral,
ion–dust, and dust–neutral collisions are considered. Applying a reductive perturbation theory, a damped Korteweg–de Vries
(DKdV) equation is derived. On the other hand, at a critical phase velocity, the dynamics of solitary waves is governed by
a damped modified Korteweg–de Vries (DMKdV) equation. The nonlinear properties of solitary waves in the two cases are discussed. 相似文献

Interaction of nonplanar ion acoustic solitary waves is an important source of information to study the nature and characteristics of ion acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) structures. The head-on collision between two cylindrical/spherical IASWs in un-magnetized plasmas comprising with inertial ions, superthermal electrons and positrons is investigated by using the extended version of Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) perturbation method. It has been shown numerically that how the interactions are taking place in cylindrical and spherical geometry. The nonplanar geometry modified analytical phase shifts following the head-on collision are derived. The effects of the superthermal electrons and positrons on the phase shift are studied. It is shown that the properties of the interaction IASWs in different geometry are very different. 相似文献

Ion acoustic solitary waves and periodic waves in an unmagnetized plasma with superthermal (kappa distributed) cool and hot electrons have been investigated using non-perturbative approach. We have transformed basic model equations to an ordinary differential equation involving electrostatic potential. Then we have applied the bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems to the obtained equation and we have proved the existence of solitary wave solutions and periodic wave solutions. We have derived two exact solutions of solitary and periodic waves depending on the parameters. From the solitary wave solution and periodic wave solution, we have shown the effects of density ratio p of cool electrons and ions, spectral index κ, and temperature ratio σ of cool electrons and hot electrons on characteristics of ion acoustic solitary and periodic waves. 相似文献

In the present work, we have considered the nonlinear effects due to trapped electrons in an inhomogeneous degenerate quantum plasma. The formation of drift solitary structures has been investigated for both fully and partially degenerate plasmas. The Sagdeev potential approach has been employed to obtain arbitrary amplitude solitary structures. Interestingly, for a fixed value of density, not only compressive but rarefactive solitary structures have been obtained for a certain temperature range. Furthermore, it has been observed that the drift solitary structures exist only for the case when the drift velocity is smaller than the velocity of the nonlinear structure. The theoretical results obtained have been analyzed numerically for the parameters typically found in white dwarfs and the relevance of the results with regard to white dwarf asteroseismology is also pointed out. 相似文献

Linear and nonlinear dust drift waves are investigated in the presence of kappa distributed electrons and ions. The dispersion characteristics of linear waves show that the phase velocity decreases with the inclusion of highly energetic particles in the tail of the distribution. In the nonlinear regime, a nonlinear partial differential equation is obtained in the long wave length limit. A stationary solution of this equation in the form of solitary waves is discussed and noticed that the amplitude of the solitary pulse decreases with the increase of superthermal particle’s effect, and its width expands. Further, it is found that speed limit of the nonlinear structures is also modified in the non-Maxwellian plasma. Theoretically obtained results are applied to Saturn’s’ dusty plasma environment. It is also pointed out that the present results can be helpful for further understanding of space plasmas. 相似文献

The nonlinear amplitude modulation of dust-ion acoustic wave (DIAW) is studied in the presence of nonextensive distributed electrons in dusty plasmas with stationary dust particles. Using the reductive perturbation method (RPM), the nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLSE) which governs the modulational instability (MI) of the DIAWs is obtained. Modulational instability regions and the growth rate of nonlinear waves are discussed. It is shown that the wave characters are affected by the value of nonextensive parameter and also relative density of plasma constituents. 相似文献

Existence of compressive relativistic solitons is established in an arbitrary ξ-direction, inclining at an angle to the direction of the weak magnetic field (ω
pi
≫ω
Bi
) in this plasma compound with ions, relativistic electrons and relativistic electron beams. It is observed that the absolute
linear growth of amplitudes of compressive solitons is due to inactive role of the weak magnetic field and the initial streaming
speeds of relativistic electrons, electron beams, and Q
b
(ion mass to electron beam mass). Besides, the small initial streaming of electrons is found to be responsible to generate
relatively high amplitude compressive solitons. The non-relativistic ions in the background plasma, but in absence of electron-beam
drift and in presence of weak magnetic field are the causing effect of interest for the smooth growth of soliton amplitudes
in this model of plasma. 相似文献

The Head on collision of dust ion acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) in a magnetized quantum dusty plasma is investigated. Two sides Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equations are obtained, the analytical phase shifts and the trajectories after the head-on collision of two DIASWs in a three species quantum dusty plasma are derive by using the extended version of Poincaré-Lighthill-Kuo (PLK) method. It is observed that the phase shifts are significantly affected by the quantum parameters like quantum diffraction, the ion cyclotron frequency and the ratio of the densities of electrons to ions. 相似文献

Using the Sagdeev pseudo-potential technique, further investigation on the effect of nonextensive hot electrons on finite amplitude nonlinear low-frequency electrostatic waves in a magnetized two-component plasma have been reported in detail. The plasma model consists of cold ions fluid and nonextensively distributed electrons. The existence domain for the nonlinear structures have been established analytically and numerically. Apart from the compressive and rarefactive soliton solutions that have been reported earlier, the present investigation shows that double layer structures can be obtained for certain values of nonextensive electrons in the supersonic Mach number regime. The present results may provide an explanation for the observed nonlinear structures in the auroral region of the Earth’s magnetosphere. 相似文献
