正大同盆地是中低山环绕的断陷盆地,其内部可分为怀仁凹陷、黄花梁凸起、后所凹陷、朔州断阶、浑源断阶等五个次级构造单元。怀仁凹陷位于盆地北部的凹陷区,整体呈北东-南西向展布,具有西断东超的半地堑结构特点,其西北部以口泉断裂为界,东南部为黄花梁凸起。中国地质调查局油气资源调查中心为了探索大同盆地的含油气特征,  相似文献

成吉思汗驿站龙江组剖面位于扎兰屯成吉思汗镇东南部,组内大化石稀少,但孢粉化石丰富,下部岩性为沉凝灰岩、凝灰岩、凝灰质砂岩、砂岩、砾岩,上部岩性为安山岩、英安岩。通过对成吉思汗驿站龙江组孢粉化石的分析,在龙江组中识别出圆形粒面孢-二连粉孢粉组合带(Cyclogranisporites-Erlianpollis)。通过对孢粉化石属种的分析,根据具有时代指示意义的孢粉化石,如Erlianpollis,Cicatricosisporites,Pilosisporites等,认为成吉思汗地区龙江组孢粉化石形成时代为早白垩世,结合地质、古植物及孢粉化石的定量分析,认为龙江组植被类型反映亚热带气候,指示温暖潮湿的环境。  相似文献

对云南盐津地区侏罗系自流井组、沙溪庙组的孢粉组合特征和规律的研究表明,自流井组中以裸子植物花粉占绝对优势,而蕨类植物孢子含量低;裸子植物花粉中以Pinuspollenites为主,蕨类植物孢子只有Laevigatosporites。自流井组时代为早侏罗世,属于热带半干旱-温暖气候。沙溪庙组中裸子植物花粉以Pinuspollenites为主,含有Psophosphaera,Classopollis等;在蕨类植物孢子中Neoraistrickia的含量最高。沙溪庙组时代为中侏罗世,属于热带或亚热带较温暖气候。  相似文献

根据在新疆于田县普鲁地区新发现的中侏罗世地层及抱粉组合面貌的分析对比,参照其它动物及轮藻化石等,该套地层的时代应为中侏罗世早期,层位与杨叶组相当。结合本区侏罗纪地层层序、岩性及岩相变化、接触关系等,探讨了杨叶期的古地理环境,于田及其周缘地区为杨叶期沉降中心所在,策勒至民丰之间可能是今后找油的有利区段。  相似文献

The relative roles of river, atmospheric, and tidal forcings on estuarine sea level variability are examined in Breton Sound, a shallow (0.7 m) deltaic estuary situated in an interdistributary basin on the Mississippi River deltaic plain. The deltaic landscape contains vegetated marshes, tidal flats, circuitous channels, and other features that frictionally dissipate waves propagating through the system. Direct forcing by local wind stress over the surface of the estuary is minimal, owing to the lack of significant fetch due to landscape features of the estuary. Atmospheric forcing occurs almost entirely through remote forcing, where alongshore winds facilitate estuary-shelf exchange through coastal Ekman convergence. The highly frictional nature of the deltaic landscape causes the estuary to act as a low-pass filter to remote atmospheric forcing, where high-frequency, coastally-induced fluctuations are significantly damped, and the damping increases with distance from the estuary mouth. During spring, when substantial quantities of controlled Mississippi River inputs (?q = 62 m3 s-1) are discharged into the estuary, upper estuary subtidal sea levels are forced by a combination of river and remote atmospheric forcings, while river effects are less clear downestuary. During autumn (?q = 7 m3 s-1) sea level variability throughout the estuary is governed entirely by coastal variations at the marine boundary. A frequency-dependent analytical model, previously used to describe sea level dynamics forced by local wind stress and coastal forcing in deeper, less frictional systems, is applied in the shallow Breton Sound estuary. In contrast to deeper systems where coastally-induced fluctuations exhibit little or no frictional attenuation inside the estuary, these fluctuations in the shallow Breton Sound estuary show strong frequency dependent amplitude reductions that extend well into the subtidal frequency spectrum.  相似文献

Using newly digitised sea-level data for the ports of Southampton (1935–2005) and Portsmouth (1961–2005) on the south coast of the UK, this study investigates the relationship between the 100 highest sea-level events recorded at the two cities and the incidence of coastal floods in the adjoining Solent region. The main sources of flood data are the daily newspapers The Southern Daily Echo, based in Southampton and The News, based in Portsmouth, supported by a range of local publications and records. The study indicates a strong relationship between the highest measured sea levels and the incidence of coastal floods and highlights the most vulnerable areas to coastal flooding which include parts of Portsmouth, Southampton, Hayling Island, Fareham and Cowes. The most severe flood in the dataset resulted from the storm surge events of 13–17 December 1989 when eight consecutive extreme high waters occurred. The data suggest that while extreme sea-level events are becoming more common, the occurrence of flood events is not increasing. This is attributed to improved flood remediation measures combined with a reduction of storm intensity since the 1980s. However, several recent events of significance were still recorded, particularly 3 November 2005 when Eaststoke on Hayling Island (near Portsmouth) was flooded due to high sea levels combined with energetic swell waves.  相似文献

The Okha Shell Limestone Member of Chaya Formation is the coarse grained, shell rich deposit commonly recognized as the beach rocks. It has been age bracketed between Late Pleistocene and Holocene. Late Quaternary sea level changes have been studied with beach rocks along the Saurashtra coastal region. The present study has been carried out in the Okhamandal area of the Saurashtra peninsula especially on the Okha Shell Limestone Member as exposed at various locations along the coast from north to south. Temporal and spatial correlations of the observations have revealed three events in the Okha Shell Limestone Member of Chaya Formation that are correlated laterally. The events show depositional breaks represented by discontinuity surfaces, the taphofacies varieties and ichnological variations. The present study in the context of available geochrnological data of the region suggests a prominent depositional break representing low sea level stand (regression) during an Early Holocene during the deposition of Okha Shell Limestone Member.  相似文献

Abstraction of groundwater resources is increasing over the years to meet its ever-increasing demand for industrial, agricultural and domestic purposes throughout the world. The scenario is even worse in the east flowing rivers of the Western Ghats, where the demand of water is high under changing climatic conditions. Such situation may affect the groundwater resources of the river basin on a long run. The aim of the present study is to characterize the geochemistry of groundwater in Tamiraparani sub-basin through geochemical modeling and deduce the ionic interactions with the aid of geostatistical and multivariate statistical techniques. A total of 40 groundwater samples from shallow aquifers were collected randomly throughout the sub-basin for assessing its physicochemical parameters, which include physical properties of the water, major ions and nutrients. Two major hydrogeochemical facies were identified such as mixed Ca-Mg-Cl and Ca-HCO3 groups. The nutrients derived from agricultural runoff, urban discharge and organic decomposition alters the nutrient level in the groundwater. The dissolution/precipitation of minerals such as calcite and dolomite controls the chemical constituents of the groundwater. The multivariate statistical analysis indicates that natural weathering of source rocks is the main contributors of ions in the groundwater followed by anthropogenic activities such as agricultural practices and urbanization. The insights obtained from this study can be helpful for sustainable groundwater management and long-term monitoring studies.  相似文献

Geomorphic expression of land-sea interaction is preserved in the form of abandoned cliffs, marine terraces, shore platforms and marine notches along the southern Saurashtra coast. These features have been used to ascertain the magnitude of sea level changes during late Quaternary. Notch morphology and associated biological encrustation have been used to estimate the magnitude and duration of palaeo-sea strands. Marine notches and other erosive features occurring between 12 and 15 m above the present Biological Mean Sea Level (BMSL) are attributed to the last interglacial corresponding to the Marine Isotopic Stage 5 (MIS-5). However, 6 to 9 m upliftment of the coastal fringe is attributed to this sea level. The second major high sea strand was identified during the mid-Holocene when the sea rose 2 m above the present level. Notches corresponding to this high sea level are recorded 4 to 5 m above the present BMSL.  相似文献

The absolute elevations of sea level 103,000 and 82,000 years ago have been estimated as ?15 and ?13 m, respectively, from the present elevations of emergent reefs on Barbados (Broecker et al., 1968; Matthews, 1973; Bloom et al., 1974). The “Barbados model” requires two assumptions: (1) that sea level was +6 m 124,000 years ago, and (2) that rates of uplift on short individual traverses have been uniform during the last 125,000 years.A test of the derived values on Barbados itself does not yield uniform rates of uplift between 124,000 and 82,000 years ago. Less reliably dated strand line features on less uplifted coasts suggest that sea level 124,000 years ago differed from sea levels 103,000 and 82,000 years ago by smaller amounts than those suggested by the “Barbados model.” Such smaller differences yield more uniform rates of uplift between 124,000 and 82,000 years ago, on New Guinea as well as on Barbados, than do the larger. The “Barbados model” is not sufficiently precise to yield close estimates of past elevations of sea level. Better values will eventually be derived from low uplift coasts, when stratigraphic and radiometric data from them have achieved the credibility of data from moderate to high uplift coasts.  相似文献

This study presents relative sea level (RSL) curves for seven coastal areas in Akarnania and the northwestern Peloponnese (NW Greece) since the mid-Holocene. RSL fluctuations are deduced from 48 14C-AMS dated sedimentological sea level markers from 27 vibracores drilled in near-coast geological archives as well as from six geoarchaeological sea level indicators of known ages. Seven palaeo sea level curves including uncertainty bands are reconstructed for a coastal zone spanning a distance of 150 km. Considerable intra-regional differences in sea level evolution exist. These differences are mainly due to tectonic reasons. In general, RSL in northwestern Greece has never been higher than today. Rates of local sea level rise were highest until 5500–5000 cal BC (up to 12.3 m/ka) and lowest during 4000–500 cal BC (0.2–1.4 m/ka). During the past 2500 or so years, RSL has accelerated anew (0.7–2.7 m/ka). Calculating differences between local mean sea level curves provides quantitative information on intra-regional differences of tectonic activity. The coastal plains of Palairos and Elis show signs of uplift, whereas the Mytikas and Boukka plains are strongly subsiding. Compared to other areas of the eastern Mediterranean, northwestern Greece has been subject to significant net long-term subsidence. Regional tectonic events (RTEs) were detected for the time around 4000, 2500, 500 and 250 cal BC as well as around 250 and 1250 cal AD. RTEs are characterized by changes of uplift/subsidence rates or by the redirection of local tectonic movements. The question if some of the RTEs were of a supra-regional nature is still open. From a geodynamic point of view, the results presented show that Akarnania's southwestern fringe is being downwarped while the tectonic block as a whole is moving towards the southwest. Strongest subsidence rates are observed for central Akarnania. At Akarnania's fringes, subsidence is reduced by the influence of strong uplift of adjacent areas such as around Preveza and the northern Peloponnese.  相似文献

A sequence of radiocarbon-dated buried trees, buried soils, a carbonate zone, and a molluscan fauna from Carnegie Canyon indicate that between 3200 and 2600 yr B.P. the climate of west-central Oklahoma was drier than today. A high water table accompanied a period of moister climate 2000 to 1000 yr B.P. The water table dropped after 1000 yr B.P. due to a change toward dry conditions.  相似文献

Improvement in the quality of river water filtered through a 17-m thick sand-gravel unconfined aquifer at a production well surrounded by surface-water bodies, in Haridwar (India), was studied. Distances between surface water sources and the production well are more than 115 m, and the shortest travel times are 77 and 84 days for monsoon and non-monsoon periods, respectively. During the monsoon period, surface water exhibited increased turbidity by 50–100 times, bacterial count of around 10 times and decreased electrical conductivity of around 0.6 times compared to non-monsoon samples. The quality of abstracted bank filtrate, however, was found not to significantly vary. In non-monsoon months, riverbank filtration resulted in a reduction of turbidity and coliforms by 1 and 3 logs, respectively. For monsoonal months, this increased to more than 2 and 4 logs in turbidity and coliforms reduction, respectively. UV absorbance was also found to be reduced to about 1 log during monsoon season. Results from column studies confirmed that a retention time of around 5 days is adequate to achieve more than 99.9% removal of coliforms.  相似文献
