Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the relationship between saturated hydraulic conductivity with particle shape and packing density characteristics of silty sand soils. The article presents a series of hydraulics tests performed on three kinds of sand with different particles shapes (Chlef rounded sand, Fontainebleau sub-rounded sand and Hostun sub-angular sand) mixed with low plastic rounded Chlef silt in the range of 0–30% fines content. The sand–silt mixture samples were tested in the constant-head permeability device at a loose relative density (Dr = 18%) and a constant room temperature (T?=?20?°C). The obtained results indicate that the measured saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) correlates very well with the fines content (Fc), packing density in terms of [maximum void ratio “emax,” minimum void ratio “emin,” predicted maximum void ratio “emaxpr and predicted minimum void ratio “eminpr] and particle shape characteristics ratios in terms of roundness ratio (Rr = Rhs/Rmixture) and sphericity ratio (Sr = Shs/Smixture) of the silty sand materials under consideration. Moreover, the analysis of the available data show a noticeable success in exploring the prediction of the saturated hydraulic conductivity (Ks) based on the particle shape and packing density characteristics (Rr, Sr, emax, and emin) of the studied sand–silt mixture samples.  相似文献

在试验水池中,开展了波浪在岛礁地形上演化问题的研究。首先在实验水池中建立了西太平洋某岛礁地形的模型,然后采用改进的JONSWAP谱,由造波机产生不同周期、波高的随机波浪。试验中观察到了不同类型畸形波生成的过程及不同波面形态的畸形波。对偏度、峰度及水深与畸形波要素Hm/HsHm表示波列中的最大波高, Hs为有效波高)的关系进行了详细的分析,同时,对畸形波波高Hfr与偏度的关也进行了分析。通过对试验结果分析,发现峰度与畸形波要素i>Hm/Hs呈正相关, Hfr增大时相应的偏度也会呈现增大的趋势。此外,水深的变化剧烈时(如斜坡、海山位置)有助于畸形波的发生。  相似文献

The increased off shore activity in arctic waters has occasioned investigations with the purpose of reducing the ice forces acting on structures. Korzhavin (Novosibirsk, U.S.S.R.) has shown that the ice forces will be appreciably reduced if wedges or cones are introduced instead of vertical faces. A theory is presented in the following, by which it is possible to calculate the forces based on the physical and geometrical parameters of the system. The theory has been verified by model tests with both artificial and natural ice.For an inclined wedge or cone the force will F = CFFmax where CF is a reduction factor and Fmax = rced is the maximum force acting on a vertical faced structure, rc being the compression strength, e the thickness of the ice and d the width of the structure. The value of CF will normally vary from 0·1 to 0·4.  相似文献

应用Catch-MSY模型评估印度洋蓝枪鱼资源   总被引:2,自引:1,他引:1  
Catch-MSY模型可仅依靠渔获量数据进行渔业资源评估,在数据缺乏状况下能暂时替代标准资源评估模型。本研究以印度洋蓝枪鱼(Makaira nigricans)为例,根据有、无信息的内禀增长率r和环境容纳量K的先验分布,设立15组情景进行模型灵敏度分析、资源评估和预测。结果表明,参数r和K呈强烈的负相关,而最大可持续产量(Maximum Sustainable Yield,MSY)与参数r呈正相关;数据时间序列长度对评估结果影响有限,而模型对起止年渔获量较为敏感。资源状况评估表明,印度洋蓝枪鱼资源生物量状况良好,即B2015/BMSY大于1;而开发状况除其中两种情景外,均为过度捕捞,即F2015/FMSY大于1。资源预测表明,为使未来10年内B/BMSY>1的概率超过50%,需将渔获量缩减至当前渔获量的90%(13.86 kt);考虑到该模型在数据缺乏状况下会更加保守,若将当前渔获量的100%~110%(15.40~16.94 kt)设为管理目标,则未来5年内B/BMSY >1的概率超过50%。  相似文献

Relations between sea-surface temperature (T s) and heat flux at the sea surface (F) have been investigated using data from ocean observation buoys located off Shikoku in the Sea of Japan and in the East China Sea. Wavelet transformation decomposed F and T s to wavelet coefficients (WLC) in the period-time domain. Assuming one-dimensional heat transfer by eddy diffusion in the upper ocean, the phase difference (δθ) defined as the difference between the phase of the temporal change rate of T s, and the phase of F ranges statistically from 0 to +π/4 when F changes T s, and is around −π/2 when heat convergence in the sea (Av) forces T s. The δθ values are distributed from 0 to +π/4 at one-day and one-year periods at all buoys. WLC amplitude (WLCA) of F at periods from 16 to 32 day periods, which may be caused by the atmospheric ridge-trough systems, maintains energy longer than WLCA at periods from 2 to 16 days, which may be caused by monsoonal surges. At periods from 2 to 64 days, δθ values distribute from 0 to +π/4 or around −π/2 at each event, reflecting the surroundings of each ocean, i.e., Kuroshio recirculation in the off-Shikoku area, water-temperature front in the Sea of Japan, and water exchange in the continental shelf edge in the East China Sea. We demonstrate that the wavelet analysis can characterize the correspondence between irregular signals of F and T s in various time scales and locations. 本文利用欧洲中期预报中心(ECMWF)第五代再分析数据集(ECMWF Reanalysis v5 ERA5,ERA5),对中国黄渤海海域2000-2019年的波浪进行了统计分析。得到如下的结论:1.黄渤海海区波浪具有明显的季节性,渤海区域有效波高呈现出周边小,中间大的特点;黄海海域有效波高Hs呈现由南向北降低的趋势;研究区域冬季有效波高均值大于其他季节。2.平均周期T的季节分布类似于有效波高的季节均值分布。渤海仅秋冬季T的均值存在大于4s的区域;黄海海域T的季节分布也呈现由南向北递减的趋势,其中长江口外海区域秋冬季T的季节均值可达6s。3.有效波高距平场EOF分解结果显示,第一模态表明了波浪变化具有明显的季节性特征;第二模态反映了季风的季节转换对有效波高的影响;第三模态代表的可能是地形的变化对有效波高变化的影响。4.代表点统计结果显示:整个渤海地区的常浪向为 NNE~NE,强浪向以 NE和 NNE 为主;黄海海域的常浪向为SSE-SE向,强浪向以 N和 SSE 为主。  相似文献

Abstract. Cell‐specific fluorescence characteristics were used to characterize the light tolerance of the toxic benthic dinoflagellate Gambierdiscus toxicus. The fluorescence parameter Fv : Fm was measured using pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) fluorometry on individual cells collected from foliose red algae growing in the sub‐tidal margin of South Water Cay, Belize. Samples were collected over several days during sunny and cloudy conditions and compared to samples incubated in situ. The data from individual cells were used to generate both Fv : Fm frequency histograms and averages. Maximum individual cell values of Fv : Fm reached 0.81 in pre‐dawn samples, a value near the theoretical maximum for PAM fluorometry. In field samples from macroalgal hosts, average Fv : Fm values declined only slightly during the day, but cells incubated in bottles under 47 % incident sunlight showed a significant mid‐day depression. In freshly collected samples, near‐maximum Fv : Fm values could be found in individual cells during the entire day; however, the frequency histograms indicated a greater range in Fv : Fm values during the afternoon than in the morning. In contrast, cultures of G. toxicus showed a tight distribution around a mean. Field samples showed a rapid recovery to near‐maximum Fv : Fm within 2 min when assayed using a standardized actinic light series. Similar results were obtained in laboratory cultures of G. toxicus grown at 73 µmol photons · m‐2 · s‐1, but not at 383 µmol photons · m‐2 · s‐1. These data provide empirical support for suggestions that G. toxicus exploits the three‐dimensional structure of the algal host thallus to minimize light exposure. This strategy permits G. toxicus, a high‐light intolerant species in culture, to thrive in shallow, well‐lit tropical seas. It may also partially explain the observed preference of G. toxicus for complex, foliose macroalgae as hosts.  相似文献

本文采用美国国家大气研究中心(NCAR)开发的中尺度数值模式WRFV3.7及其三维变分同化系统WRF-3DVAR对2008年飓风“艾克”进行了数值模拟研究。利用多普勒天气雷达观测资料具有高时空分辨率的优点,将美国两部多普勒天气雷达资料进行速度退模糊等必要质量控制后同化进中尺度数值模式,考察雷达资料同化对飓风“艾克”预报的改进程度。试验结果表明:将雷达资料用于对流尺度分辨率下飓风初始化需要对变分同化系统中特征尺度化因子进行优化调整,使观测资料能够以较为合理的方式调整模式初始场并进而改进预报;雷达径向风同化可以有效调整模式初始场中的飓风动力和热力结构,而经过尺度化因子调整后的雷达径向风同化则在飓风观测中心位置产生较为合理的气旋性风场增量,提供更为确切的中小尺度信息,使模式初始场更加接近观测并进而改进对飓风路径和强度的预报。  相似文献

利用雨滴谱等多源观测资料,对2023年12月山东江淮气旋暴雪和海效应暴雪的微物理特征进行了对比分析。结果表明:(1)相比于海效应暴雪,江淮气旋暴雪云系云顶高度较高,云顶亮温较低,对流强度较强。(2)江淮气旋暴雪的粒子数浓度高、粒子谱较窄、粒子体积较小、降雪强度较大;海效应暴雪的粒子数浓度低、粒子谱较宽、粒子体积较大、降雪强度较小。(3)江淮气旋暴雪的粒子下落末速度以单峰型为主,海效应暴雪则多为双峰型;江淮气旋暴雪的粒子下落末速度及其谱宽均大于海效应暴雪。(4)江淮气旋暴雪含有较多的霰粒、冰粒、雪花,海效应暴雪则以雪花及其聚合体为主。(5)两次暴雪的等效反射率因子(Ze)-降雪强度(Is)关系有较大差异。在降雪强度相同时,海效应暴雪的Ze更大。  相似文献

The motion of particle clouds (i.e., sediment clouds) usually can be found in engineering applications such as wastewater discharge, land reclamation, and marine bed capping. In this paper, a series of laboratory tests are conducted on coral sand to investigate the shape feature of the single particle and the mixing processes of the coral sand particle clouds. The shape of coral sand particle is measured and quantified. The experimental results demonstrate that the shape of coral sand particles tends to be spherical as the particle size decreases, and empirical equations were established to explain the variation of D50 and fS,50 of coral sand. Compared with the silica sand, the evolution of the coral sand particle cloud still experiences three stages, but the threshold for the Reynolds number of particle clouds entering the next stage changes. Further, the normalized axial distance of the coral sand particle clouds is 58% smaller. The frontal velocity exhibits similar varying tendency for the coral sand particle cloud. Considering the difference in shape between coral sand particles and silica sand particles, a semi-empirical formula was proposed based on the original silica sand prediction formula by adding the shape factor and the experimental data of 122 µm⩽D50⩽842 µm. It can predict the frontal velocity of the coral sand particle clouds.

Generally, the sea-state (random waves) is best described by a wave spectrum. A number of statistical models for wave spectra has been well established and a sea-state can be specified. Once the specified sea-state is established, the corresponding model for wave forces acting on a single cylinder or a group of cylinders can be formulated. Since peak force is of more practical value, a multivariate or joint probability density function for wave forces has been developed for the peak force distribution of wave forces. This theoretical force model derives the tri-variate probability density function P(F, F′, F″), where F is the peak force defined by Morison equation. This model is of wide-band in nature and is tested by wave flume experiments.  相似文献

It is known that there is a front-like structure at the mixed layer depth (MLD) distribution in the subtropical gyre, which is called the MLD front, and is associated with the formation region of mode water. In the present article, the generation mechanism of the MLD front is studied using an idealized ocean general circulation model with no seasonal forcing. First, it is shown that the MLD front occurs along a curve where u g ·∇T s = 0 is satisfied (u g is the upper ocean geostrophic velocity vector, T s is the sea surface temperature and ∇ is the horizontal gradient operator). In other words, the front is the boundary between the subduction region (u g ·∇T s > 0) and the region where subduction does not occur (u g ·∇T s < 0). Second, we have investigated subduction of low potential vorticity water at the MLD front, which has been pointed out by past studies. Since u g ·∇T s = 0 at the MLD front, the water particles do not cross the outcrop at the MLD front. The water that is subducted at the MLD front has come from the deep mixed layer region where the sea surface temperature is higher than that at the MLD front. The temperature of the water in the deep mixed layer region decreases as it is advected eastward, attains its minimum at the MLD front where u g ·∇T s = 0, and then subducts under the warmer surface layer. Since the deep mixed layer water subducts beneath a thin stratified surface layer, maintaining its thickness, the mixed layer depth changes abruptly at the subduction location.  相似文献

Gross sedimentation rates (GSR) have been measured using sediment traps placed at nine different levels above the bed (0·3, 0·5, 0·8, 1·0, 2·0, 4·0, 6·0, 8·0 and 10·0 m). The sediment traps were deployed for 1·25 years and recovered 28 times during the study period. Low average GSR values of 5·5 g m-2 day-1 were obtained at 10·0 m, and high average GSR values of 114·8 g m-2 day-1 were obtained at 0·3 m. An expression for the eddy diffusion coefficient of suspended particulate matter (Ks), based on the measured GSR is given. The expression has been used for modelling of Ks at the different trap levels above the bed. High values (≈42 cm2 s-1) of Ks were obtained at the upper traps, whereas low values (≈2 cm2 s-1) were obtained near the bed. Comparison between level of turbulent energy in terms of shear stress at the boundaries of the water column, i.e. from the wind and the bed flow, showed that wind energy exceeded that of the bed flow by a factor 16. At 5·0 m Ks was positively correlated (r=0·66) to the eddy diffusion coefficient of momentum (Km) derived from the wind energy transfer to the water, giving an average β of 0·5 for KsKm. The density difference between surface and bottom waters has been designated a parameter of stratification, and is discussed in relation to variations of Ks and Km .  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The uplift capacity of a group of circular plate anchors buried horizontally in sand along a line has been determined. The uplift capacity of an interfering anchor is presented in terms of nondimensional uplift factors, Fγi and Fqi, due to components of soil unit weight and surcharge pressure acting on the ground surface, respectively. Theoretical solutions have been developed by applying the upper bound theorem of limit analysis based on a simple rigid wedge collapse mechanism. In the case of two and infinite number of anchors, closed-form solutions have been developed for computing the factor Fqi, whereas the factor Fγi is determined using a semianalytical approach. As expected, the interference of the anchors leads to a continuous reduction in the uplift resistance with a decrease in the spacing between the anchors, and the uplift resistance decreases with the increasing number of anchors at a given spacing. The results compare reasonably well with the available theoretical and experimental data from the literature.  相似文献

The status of a fishery is often defined as the probability of fishing mortality rate exceeding a perilous level for long‐term sustainability. Lobster stock assessments are often subject to large uncertainty in input data and high levels of natural variability in lobster life history processes, which calls for incorporating uncertainty associated with both indicator and management reference points in an evaluation of biological risk of overfishing. Using a Monte Carlo simulation approach, we evaluated the impacts of uncertainty in modelling on the determination of the status of the Taitung spiny lobster (Panulirus penicillatus) fishery (Taiwan), which has not been quantitatively determined despite its commercial importance. The commonly used biological reference points derived from the per recruit model (F 0.1 the fishing mortality rate where the slope of the curve of yield‐per‐recruit model is 10% of the maximum slope and F 4Q%, the fishing mortality rate that reduces the expected egg production for a cohort of female lobsters to 40% of that produced in the absence of a fishery of the egg‐per‐recruit model) were influenced by uncertainties associated with lobster life history and fishery parameters. A large uncertainty in the current fishing mortality rate (F cnr) and estimates of biological reference points (F BRPs) increased the uncertainty in determining the risk of overexploitation throughout the confidence levels of the stochastic decision‐making framework. This simulation study suggests that the target reference point of F 40% is less sensitive to the input parameters’ uncertainty than F 0.1 We suggest a further evaluation of other F‐based references points and development of biomass‐based reference points before final selection and implementation for the management of the Taitung lobster fishery.  相似文献

In April 2001, three instrumented surface drifters were deployed in the Mississippi River plume near the mouth of Southwest Pass. The plume was characterized by strong surface gradients of salinity, temperature, and chromophoric dissolved organic matter fluorescence (FCDOM). The drifters initially headed west and attained peak speeds of 1 m s−1 within 5 h after release. Thereafter, velocity decreased as the triad headed north in the Louisiana Bight. Linear relationships between FCDOM and salinity identified two subsurface sources of high salinity water (salinity >35) underlying the surface plume. The platforms stalled in a surface front about 40 h after deployment, and then slowly drifted south along the eastern perimeter of the plume. Shoreward of the plume front there were patches of low-salinity, high FCDOM ‘patches’ of surface waters that likely originated in the marshes, bayous, and other smaller distributaries of the delta.  相似文献

为了解栉孔扇贝(Chlamys farreri)、虾夷扇贝(Patinopecten yessoensis)及其杂交子代(F1)的种群遗传多样性和遗传结构,对3个群体的线粒体COI和Cytb基因的部分序列进行了扩增和分析。经比对分别获得781bp和725bp核苷酸片段,74个样本共检测到47个单倍型;F1群体的单倍型数、单倍型多样性指数、核苷酸多样性及平均核苷酸差异数都是最高的,而双亲的较低;F1和栉孔扇贝间的遗传距离最小,其次为栉孔扇贝和虾夷扇贝群体之间,F1和虾夷扇贝群体之间的遗传距离最大;F1和栉孔扇贝之间的遗传分化系数较小而两者间的基因流比较大,F1和栉孔扇贝与虾夷扇贝之间的遗传分化系数较大而基因流较小,说明栉孔扇贝和虾夷扇贝群体群体很早就发生了遗传分化;采用UPGMA法和简化的中介网络法构建的系统树表明,3个群体的所有个体被分为2个族群,栉孔扇贝和F1交叉聚为一类,虾夷扇贝独自聚为一类,2个分支间没有交叉;使用特异性引物分别对3个群体进行PCR扩增检验,结果栉孔扇贝的特异引物能在杂交子代中扩增,而虾夷扇贝的特异引物不能在子代中扩增出条带,说明栉孔扇贝和虾夷扇贝杂交,其子代的线粒体遗传模式为严格的母系遗传。本研究结果表明杂种优势的形成与线粒体遗传多样性的变化有关。  相似文献

In this note the effect of changes in sea-state, as measured by the significant wave heigh Hs, on the joint distribution of individual wave height and period are considered. Wave data, obtained from a Waverider buoy during the growth phase of a storm, are used in the analysis. It is found that, by correctly scaling the individual heights and periods, the form of the joint distribution does not depend on Hs, but is dependent on the bandwidth of the spectrum. The results obtained also give some indication of the period of individual, high zero-upcrossing waves.  相似文献

本研究利用非结构网格有限体积海洋模型FVCOM(Finite-Volume Coastal Ocean Model)、MDO(Mellor-Donelan-Oey)波浪模型以及可分层的植被波耗散参数化方案,通过对比有无红树林工况评估红树林的波浪衰减能力,研究了不同形态的红树林在高水位与低水位情况下的消波能力,分析了植株密度对红树林消波能力的影响。结果表明,红树林的消波系数与林带宽度呈非线性正相关,与水深的关系则与红树结构有关。以白骨壤(Avicennia marina)为代表的A型植株形态在低水位下的消波系数极大值为67.9%,高水位下则能够达到94.4%;以红海榄(Rhizophora stylosa)为代表的B型植株形态的消波系数在低水位和高水位的极大值分别为90.6%、89.4%;以角果木(Ceriops tagal)为代表的C型植株形态的消波能力在高低水位区别不大。植株密度的增加能提高红树林消波系数上限,还能使得红树林消波系数对林带宽度的变化更为敏感,减小达到消波系数极大值所需要的林带宽度。在保护现有的红树林生态系统或建立新的红树林综合减灾防护系统时,应注意不同植株结构红树林的...  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The aim of this experimental study is to estimate the maximum shear modulus (Gmax) of normally consolidated clayey soils using the results of a dilatometer test (DMT). A series of DMTs was conducted at the Busan New Port and Noksan sites in South Korea. In addition, basic index tests, bender element tests (i.e., shear wave velocity (Vs) measurements), and standard 1-D consolidation tests were performed using the undisturbed specimens. The results demonstrate that the Gmax of normally consolidated Busan clays cannot be adequately captured by the horizontal stress index (KD)-based empirical formula. Therefore, a Gmax estimating formula for normally consolidated clayey soils is newly suggested in this study using the dilatometer constrained modulus (MDMT) and stress-normalized material index (ID). Most notably, the estimated Gmax values using the suggested formula are comparable with the measured Gmax of both this study and the previous study on normally consolidated clayey soils.  相似文献
