Fully nonlinear interactions between water waves and vertical cylinder arrays in a numerical tank are studied based on a finite element method (FEM). The three-dimensional (3D) mesh is constructed through an extension of a 2D Delaunay surface grid along the vertical line. The velocity potential is obtained by solving a linear matrix system of FEM, and a difference scheme is then used to calculate the velocity on the free surface to track its movement. Waves and hydrodynamic forces are obtained for both bottom mounted and truncated cylinders. The simulations have provided many results to show the nature of mutual interference between cylinders in arrays and its effects on waves and forces at the nearly trapped mode frequency. The effect of the tank wall on waves and forces has been investigated, and the nonlinear features of waves and forces have also been discussed.  相似文献

Regular and irregular wave forces acting on vertical walls are studied by a previously developed numerical model. The computed wave forces are compared with the available experimental data to verify the numerical model, and satisfactory agreements are obtained. The variation of wave forces with incident angles and the shape of simultaneous pressure distribution are investigated, and the comparisons between numerical results and Goda' s predictions are also carried out. It is concluded that the maximum wave forces acting on the unit length of vertical wall is often induced by the obliquely incident waves instead of normally incident waves, while Goda' s formula may be inapplicable for oblique wave incidence. The shape of simultaneous pressure distribution is not significantly influenced by incident angles, and it can be favorably predicted by Goda' s formula. When regular wave heights are taken as the same as irregular wave height H1%, the irregular wave forces Ph. 1% are slightly larger than regular wave forces in most cases.  相似文献

The characteristics of wave forces are studied based on physical model tests with regular waves. The ratio of obliquely incident wave forces to normally incident wave forces on unit length of a vertical wall is related with various factors. A linear reduction of the mean force of obliquely incident waves is confirmed with an increase in the relative caisson length. Also the characteristics of reflection coefficient of diagonal waves are discussed.  相似文献

As part of an investigation into the detailed characteristics of wave impacts, experimental data are presented for the impact pressures and forces generated by waves up to 1.7 m high breaking onto a vertical wall and a wall inclined at 27° to the vertical. Particular attention is given to the influence of entrained and entrapped air and, by selecting regular wave conditions that produce impacts, trends are identified for highly variable phenomena that could easily be missed when masked by the even greater variability associated with irregular waves.  相似文献

This paper aims at presenting a method for solving the linearised diffraction problem of the interaction between regular sinusoidal, small amplitude incident waves and a bottomless cylindrical floating body with a vertical symmetry axis and finite wall thickness, through the idealisation of the flow field around the structure using ring elements. The horizontal and vertical excitation forces, the rolling moment, the resulting wave motion inside the cylinder, as well as the pressure distribution on the wetted surface of the structure are obtained by solving the diffraction boundary-value problem through the implementation of the Galerkin method. The analytical predictions are compared with other analytical results and pertinent experimental data. Finally, the influence of the wall thickness on the wave loads and the fluid motion inside the pond is examined.  相似文献

斜向入射的不规则波在海岸结构物前发生反射形成入、反射波共存的波浪场,对这种物理场的入、反射波的分离是海岸工程研究的一个重要课题.改进了一种可用于斜向入射的不规则波分离的两点法,使得测波阵列的两波高仪可布置在结构物前任何方向上.将此方法应用于三维波浪水池的物理模型试验研究,试验了不同的两波高仪的组合、不同的基床高度、不同的入射方向和不同的波浪要素等各种条件对分离结果的影响,结果表明,各种情况在满足非奇异条件下可得到较好的分离结果.该方法计算简便,可以给出较准确的反射系数和入、反射波的频谱.  相似文献

筒型基础防波堤是一种新型港口海岸工程结构,其基础上部是由连续排列的圆筒构成的直立防浪墙.采用粘性流数值模型,研究连续圆筒防波堤上波浪力竖向分布、水平(沿圆筒环向)分布和波浪力合力特性,并对粘性流数值模型计算的平面直墙波浪力与海港水文规范方法计算结果;粘性流数值模型计算的连续圆筒墙面波浪力与平面直墙波浪力;无限长连续圆筒墙面波浪力与有限长连续圆筒墙面波浪力进行比较分析.针对所选工程算例,建议按<海港水文规范>中平面直墙波浪力计算方法确定连续圆筒防波堤上的波浪力时,波峰时考虑0.90左右的折减系数,波谷时考虑0.95左右的折减系数.  相似文献

A wave tank test was conducted to measure the forces on a submersible drilling rig model. The results were compared with the analytical results based on linear wave diffraction theory. The test set-up necessitated a small uniform gap between the rig model and the tank floor. Thus, the set-up duplicated an open bottom structure or a structure on a porous foundation. The measured vertical forces experienced a significant reduction due to this gap. The results showed that the measured horizontal forces correlated well with the theory. Because of the small gap, the numerical modeling of the potential theory is difficult and the vertical forces or overturning moment are not expected to correlate. The theoretical values for the vertical forces are based on bottom-seated structure. The theoretical vertical forces were adjusted with the corresponding mean bottom pressure around the structure times the footprint area. The correlation with the adjusted vertical forces were found to be good. Thus, for a small gap at the bottom, the pressure underneath the structure may be well represented by the mean bottom pressures of a sealed structure. Note that the real structure will experience a wave pressure at the bottom due to seepage and thus, the test case is closer to the real situation than the sealed case. The magnitude of this pressure, however, will depend on the type of foundation.  相似文献

The interaction of a solitary wave with an array of surface-piercing vertical circular cylinders is investigated numerically. The wave motion is modeled by a set of generalized Boussinesq equations. The governing equations are discretized using a finite element method. The numerical model is validated against the experimental data of solitary wave reflection from a vertical wall and solitary wave scattering by a vertical circular cylinder respectively. The predicted wave surface elevation and the wave forces on the cylinder agree well with the experimental data. The numerical model is then employed to study solitary wave scattering by arrays of two circular cylinders and four circular cylinders respectively. The effect of wave direction on the wave forces and the wave runup on the cylinders is quantified.  相似文献

The numerical and experimental investigations on the performance of an offshore-submerged breakwater in reducing the wave forces and wave run-up on vertical wall are presented. A two-dimensional finite-element model is employed to study the hydrodynamic performance of the submerged breakwater under the action of regular and random waves. The numerical prediction has been supported with experimental measurements. The wave forces and wave run-up on the vertical wall were measured for different breakwater configurations. The applicability of linear theoretical model in the prediction of wave forces on the wall by a submerged breakwater has been discussed.  相似文献

Internal soliton is the large amplitude wave existing in the pycnocline, induced by internal tide in the condition of special bottom topography. During its propagation process, the induced disturbance can bring about strong convergence of sea water and sudden strong current (wave-induced-current), which can cause severe threat to the ocean engineering structures, such as oil drilling platform and pipeline. In this paper, Morison’s empirical method, modal separation and regression analyses are introduced to estimate the forces and torques exerted by internal soliton on cylindrical piles. As an example, a limited set of observational data recording a passage of the internal soliton near Dongsha Islands is used to estimate the horizontal velocity and its acceleration in a vertical section for computing the force and torque on a supposed pile, and the estimation results are reasonable. It is shown that, the higher number of the modes retained in the calculation, the better the estimation of velocity profile fits the observational one. A better overall approximation to the real solution can be reached if there are more observational current data acquired in a whole vertical profile.  相似文献

The authors deal with the computing seismic passive earth pressure acting on a vertical rigid wall. The wall is provided with a drainage system along soil-structure interface and retains the cohesionless backfill subjected to water seepage. A general solution for the seismic passive earth pressure is presented. The solution is based on Coulomb's theory wherein seismic forces are assumed to be pseudostatic. The solution considers the pore water pressures induced by water seepage and earthquake shaking. Some important parameters are included in the solution. The parameters are the soil effective internal friction angle, wall friction, soil unit weight, and horizontal and vertical seismic acceleration coefficients. The comparison of the total seismic passive earth pressure in horizontal direction from the present method with published works indicates that the present method may be reasonable. The variations of the passive earth pressure coefficient with the soil effective internal friction angle are investigated for different wall friction angles and seismic forces. The effect of the water seepage on the seismic passive earth pressure is also investigated.  相似文献

Second-order wave forces on a large diameter vertical circular cylinder, computed according to a semi-analytic nonlinear diffraction theory, are compared to results of 22 laboratory experiments with regular waves. In general, predicted forces agree quite well with measured forces. In most tests, both measured and predicted maximum forces exceeded linear theory by 5 to 15%. In a few cases, however, the measured forces were less than those predicted by linear theory, in contrast to the second-order predictions. It is shown that these results are related to the phasing of various linear and nonlinear wave force components, and are consistent with those obtained by other investigators.  相似文献

The radiation and the diffraction of linear water waves by an infinitely long floating rectangular structure submerged in water of finite depth with leeward boundary being a vertical wall are analyzed in this paper by using the method of separation of variables. Analytical expressions for the radiated and diffracted potentials are derived as infinite series with unknown coefficients determined by the eigenfunction expansion matching method. The expressions for wave forces and hydrodynamic coefficients are given. A comparison is made between the results obtained by the present analytical solution and those obtained by the boundary element method. By using the present analytical solution, the hydrodynamic influences of the submergence, the width, the thickness of the structure, and the distance between the structure and the wall on the wave forces and hydrodynamic coefficients are discussed in detail.  相似文献

A radiation and diffraction boundary value problem is investigated. It arises from the interaction of linear water waves with a freely floating rectangular structure in a semi-infinite fluid domain of finite water depth with the leeward boundary being a vertical wall. Analytical expressions for the radiated potentials and the diffracted potential are obtained by use of the method of separation of variables and the eigenfunction expansion method. The added masses and damping coefficients for the structure heaving, swaying and rolling in calm water are obtained by use of the corresponding radiated potentials and the wave excitation forces are calculated by use of the diffracted potential. To verify the correctness of the method, a boundary element method is used. A comparison of the analytical results with those obtained by the boundary element method is made and good agreement is achieved, which shows that the analytical expressions for the radiated and diffracted potentials are correct. By use of the present analytical solution, the added mass, damping coefficients, wave excitation force, together with the hydrodynamic effects of the draft, width of the structure and the clearance between the structure and the sidewall are also investigated.  相似文献

筒型基础安装过程中,筒内的负压作用会导致土塞现象的出现。以试验模型为基础建立可变形离散元计算模型,通过VC++编制的程序SPSAⅡ对筒型基础负压沉贯中土塞的生成过程进行可视化模拟计算。考虑渗流力、筒壁内外摩擦阻力和筒内负压吸力作为土塞产生的主要外荷载,分别模拟渤海地区3种典型土(黏土、粉土和砂土)的情况。其中,粉土情况下。程序的收敛速度最快,黏土情况下,土塞的计算高度最接近试验测量值,数值计算结果表明该计算方法作为筒型基础施工前筒内土塞高度的预测方法是可行的。  相似文献

The present study originates from a construction problem found in the planned deployment of the side caissons of the Venice gates barrier. Each of these caissons is made to float, then sunk into a lateral trench and jointed to the soil at its bottom. As a result, a C-shaped channel forms between the vertical caisson surfaces and the surrounding trench. Incoming storm waves propagating from the sea can then induce forced oscillations in this C-channel. An analytical model based on the method of matched asymptotics is developed in order to obtain the free surface oscillations in the channel, caused by a grazing incident wave. The resonant response of the basin and the amplification factors are then determined. From the free surface elevation, the pressure field and hence the total forces are also found. The analysis moves on to irregular wave motion. The analytical solution enables us to compute the dynamic actions, showing that their magnitude can be significant, due to the excitation of different resonant modes.  相似文献

In this study, the total horizontal and vertical forces as well as the phase differences of irregular waves on a partially perforated caisson breakwater are investigated. The partially perforated caisson is located on a rubble fill foundation and filled with rock. Based on linear potential theory, a simple semi-analytical solution of the present problem is developed by means of the matched eigenfunction method and the finite element method. Experimental tests are also conducted to validate the theoretical model and examine the wave forces acting on the perforated caisson. The effects of some of the main factors on the total wave forces and the phase difference are examined. Theoretical and experimental studies show that when the total horizontal force reaches its peak, the simultaneous total vertical (upward) force is rather small or even becomes downwards. This is due to the existence of an obvious phase difference between the time histories of the total horizontal and vertical forces, which is an important advantage of perforated caissons over traditional structures.  相似文献
