This study concerns the long-term monitoring of the secular variation character in the orbital period of some short-period eclipsing binaries observed at the Ankara University Observatory. Among the systems of our observing list are CK Boo, V502 Oph and V836 Cyg that show long-term secular variations in their orbital periods. We use classical O-C diagram analysis technique as a tool to reveal the character of the period variations of these binary systems.  相似文献

We present new multiband CCD photometric observations of three chromospherically active stars with long periods (V2075 Cyg, FG UMa and BM CVn). The observations were made at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Observatory in 2006 and 2007. We analyzed BVRI (Bessell) CCD observations of these three RS CVn-type SB1 binaries with the following three steps: (i) Photometric rotation periods were obtained by analyzing their light variations with a differential corrections method and a Fourier transform technique. (ii) Light variations, observed over three or more consecutive orbital cycles, were investigated by using dark (cool) spot models with the program SPOT. (iii) Surface differential rotation coefficients for the primary components of these binaries were derived using our own photometric periods together with orbital periods taken from the literature.  相似文献

New photoelectric and CCD observations of the eclipsing contact binary systems V344 Lac and V1191 Cyg are presented and analyzed. All available times of minimum light were used to study period changes of the systems and determine up-to-date ephemerides. The orbital period of V1191 Cyg is found to be increasing at a very fast rate. The photometric elements were determined using the new light curve, radial-velocity curve and broadening function fitting code ROCHE.  相似文献

Analyzing available photometry from the Super WASP and other databases, we performed the very first light curve analysis of eight eclipsing binary systems V537 And, GS Boo, AM CrB, V1298 Her, EL Lyn, FW Per, RU Tri, and WW Tri. All of these systems were found to be detached ones of Algol-type, having the orbital periods of the order of days. 722 new times of minima for these binaries were derived and presented, trying to identify the period variations caused by the third bodies in these systems.  相似文献

Orbital period changes of the eclipsing binaries GO Cyg and GW Cep are explained by the light-time effect for the first time. New minima of the eclipsing binary AR Aur improve the predicted light-time orbit. The light-time orbit with the quadratic ephemeris of the binary matches the new observations of V505 Sgr better than the linear one. As the light-time effect fits in corresponding OC diagrams of all four systems have been reaching extreme values, the observations of minima times in forthcoming years are highly desirable.  相似文献

We use an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to derive the orbital parameters of spectroscopic binary stars. Using measured radial velocity data of six double-lined spectroscopic binary systems V2082 Cyg, V918 Her, BW Dra, V2357 Oph, YZ Cas and V380 Cygni, we find corresponding orbital and spectroscopic elements. Our numerical results are in good agreement with those obtained by others using more traditional methods.  相似文献

We present results of multicolor photometric and polarimetric observations of the binary system V1696 CYG obtained in the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory in 2006. It is shown that observed variations of the linear polarization of the V1696 Cyg light are well correlated with the orbital period phase. We also found brightness variations (~0.1 m ) in the UBVRI bands. The brightness variations are weakly correlated with the orbital period phase. A rapid photometric variability was found.  相似文献

Using measured radial velocity data of five double lined spectroscopic binary systems V380 Cygni, V401 Cyg, V523 Cas, V373 Cas and V2388 Oph, we find corresponding orbital and spectroscopic elements via the method introduced by Karami & Mohebi (2007) and Karami & Teimoorinia (2007). Our numerical results are in good agreement wit. those obtained by others using more traditional methods.  相似文献

New photoelectric UBVR observations of the early-type eclipsing variable V498 Cyg were carried out in 1999–2002. New moments of minima were obtained and the ephemeris of the binary was improved: Min I = HJD 2442633.3955(90) + 3.4848437(34)E. All observations were grouped into two seasons, 1999-2001 and 2002, according to the light curve shape. The light curves were solved by Lavrov’s direct method, and the photometric orbit elements were calculated. Our estimates of the fundamental parameters of the binary components allowed us to class them with the B1 III and B3 III stars. Judging from the distance modulus, proper motion, and age of the binary, it can be assigned to the physical members of the Cyg OB9 association.  相似文献

We present a new multicolor CCD photometry and light curve analysis of two eclipsing binary systems, 1SWASP J133417.80 + 394314.4 and V2790 Orion. The photometric solutions for both binaries were carried out using the updated version of the Wilson– Devinney code. The results showed that first systems is A- type W UMa with mass ratios q = 0.158 while the second system is W- type with q = 3.2. The systems show over contact configuration with fill-out factors of f = 43% and 14% respectively. We calculated the orbital and absolute physical parameters for both systems and investigated their evolutionary state.  相似文献

V2213 Cyg was discovered as a variable star by Pavlenko (1999) in 1998. We present our photometry of V2213 Cyg from 1998–2003 based on CCD observations with the K-380 Cassegrain telescope of CrAO and the 60 cm Zeiss telescope of SAI. Observations have been carried out mostly in R and sometimes in B and V Johnson system. The total amount of data is 2270 points, covering ∼50 nights. We classify this binary as a W UMa-type contact system. Using all data we determined the orbital period to be 0.350079 ± 0.000007 day. The mean brightness varies between R = 14.35 and 14.05. The mean 1999–2003 orbital light curve has two humps and a primary minimum (I), which is 0.04 mag brighter than the deeper secondary one (II). The mean humps have slightly different height. The difference between two individual maxima varies within 0.1 mag, which may indicate an activity of the components. The highest hump is an asymmetrical one: it has sort of a shoulder at phases 0.75–0.80, before entering the less deep primary minimum (phase 0.0). The system is rather reddened, its colour indices are: BV ∼ 0.8 and VR ∼ 0.7, and give a spectral class of V2213 Cyg earlier than K.  相似文献

The results of new UBV photometric observations of V1357 Cyg in primary minimum are presented. Observations were carried out from 1996 up to now with 60 cm telescope in Crimea with the goal to study additional radiation that was detected in the mean light curve of this system near orbital phase 0.0. We have conducted high-speed photometric observations of the suspected cataclysmic variable V747 Cyg. The literature data about the spectra of this star are conflicting. Zwitter and Munari [A&AS 107 (1994) 503] obtained spectroscopic observations which confirmed the cataclysmic variable nature of V747 Cyg, whereas Downes et al. [AJ 110 (1995) 1824] have concluded that this object may be a Be + M binary rather than a cataclysmic variable. Our observations revealed the complete absence of the rapid flickering in this star at a millimagnitude level. This phenomenon is to be inherent in all cataclysmic variables. Instead, the lightcurves of V747 Cyg showed probably periodic smooth low-amplitude variations that were visible during each observational night. When V747 Cyg was observed in two colours simultaneously, these variations had the equal phases and amplitudes. A periodogram analysis revealed probable periods of 5.77, 7.41 and 7.59 h. These periods and the amplitude as well as the oscillation behaviour in the different colours are typical of variable Be stars. Hence, V747 Cyg may be a variable Be star but not a cataclysmic variable.  相似文献

The first light curve solutions of the binary systems V1370 Tau and QQ Boo are presented. The periodic changes are calculated, and a new ephemeris presented for each of these two binary systems. O-C analysis is performed using the MCMC method in OCFit code. The changing rate of period was measured as dP/dt= 0.2423 days/year for V1370 Tau and dP/dt= -0.1363 days/year for QQ Boo. The light curve solutions suggest that V1370 Tau is a weak-contact eclipsing binary system with a photometric mass ratio q = 0.829, and that the corresponding fillout factor is 11.06%. Furthermore, it is suggested that the QQ Boo binary system is also a weak-contact W UMa eclipsing binary with a photometric mass ratio q = 0.831, and that its fillout factor equals 10.26%. The light curve solutions require cold spots. Utilizing the Wilson-Devinney code the photometric and geometric parameters of the systems are determined. The distance of both V1370 Tau and QQ Boo are calculated according to the estimated absolute parameters as 159.95 ± 23 pc and 309.03 ± 25 pc, respectively, which are in a good agreement with the distance values derived from the Gaia DR2 parallax within one standard deviation. Moreover, the positions of their components on the H-R diagram are represented.  相似文献

The chaotic orbital dynamics of the planet in the wide visual binary star system 16 Cyg is considered. The only planet in this system has a significant orbital eccentricity, e = 0.69. Previously, Holman et al. suggested the possibility of chaos in the orbital dynamics of the planet due to the proximity of 16 Cyg to the separatrix of the Lidov–Kozai resonance. We have calculated the Lyapunov characteristic exponents on the set of possible orbital parameters for the planet. In all cases, the dynamics of 16 Cyg is regular with a Lyapunov time of more than 30 000 yr. The dynamics is considered in detail for several possible models of the planetary orbit; the dependences of Lyapunov exponents on the time of their calculation and the time dependences of osculating orbital elements have been constructed. Phase space sections for the system dynamics near the Lidov–Kozai resonance have been constructed for all models. A chaotic behavior in the orbital motion of the planet in 16 Cyg is shown to be unlikely, because 16 Cyg in phase space is far from the separatrix of the Lidov–Kozai resonance at admissible orbital parameters, with the chaotic layer near the separatrix being very narrow.  相似文献

We present new UB V observations of the symbiotic nova V 1329 Cyg. Based on all our UB V observations of a uniform system, we redetermined the orbital period of the binary and estimated the magnitudes and luminosities of its components. We show that the pre-outburst visual luminosities of the red giant and the hot star were almost equal and that the rapid irregular photographic variability of the star was caused by the nonstationary behavior of the hot component. The outburst amplitude of the hot component (subdwarf) in 1964 was found to be ~2m in the V band, which is typical of ordinary symbiotic stars. We estimated the continuum luminosity of the gaseous component that appeared after the outburst. In the V band, it was almost 1m fainter than the flared hot star. Structurally, the gaseous component is an ionized gaseous disk comparable in size to an M giant.  相似文献

The results of speckle interferometric observations of 104 binary and 6 triple stars performed at the BTA 6 m telescope in 2004 October are presented. Nearby low-mass stars are mostly observed for the program, among which 59 there are new binaries recently discovered by the Hipparcos astrometric satellite. Concurrently with the diffraction-limited position measurements we obtained 154 brightness ratio measurements of binary and multiple star components in different bands of the visible spectrum. New, first-resolved binaries are the symbiotic star CH Cyg with a weak companion at 0.043″ separation and the pair of red dwarfs, GJ 913 = HIP 118212. In addition, we derived the orbital parameters for two interferometric systems: the CN-giant pair HD 210211 = HIP 109281 (P = 10.7 yr) and the G2V-K2V G2V-K2V binary GJ 9830 = HIP 116259 (P = 15.7 yr).  相似文献

Based on high-dispersion echelle spectra taken with the 6-m Special Astrophysical Observatory telescope, we study the IR source IRAS 20004+2955 identified with the variable star V1027 Cyg. We have determined the star’s fundamental parameters (T eff=5000 K, logg=1.0), metallicity ([Fe/H]=?0.2 dex), and atmospheric abundances of 16 elements. Its metallicity, carbon underabundance, and slight overabundance of the heavy elements Zr, Y, Ce, and Eu suggest that V1027 Cyg belongs to the Galactic disk population.  相似文献

Using Wood's model we have reanalyzed the light curves of the eclipsing binaries QY Aql, V388 Cyg, and HS Her. For QY Aql and HS Her our photometric solutions substantially confirm previous results, thus respectively supporting ansd-d classification and a main sequence detached view. On the other hand, significantly different photometric elements have been derived for V388 Cyg, which is likely to be an evolved contact binary.  相似文献

We present the equivalent widths of the Hβ and Hγ absorption lines in the spectrum of V1057 Cyg measured from 1978–1990 spectrograms. The mean equivalent widths of these lines decreased approximately twofold during 1978–1985 and somewhat increased during 1987–1990. Using published UBV photometry, we show that there has been a correlation between the Hβ equivalent width and the ?U-B? color since 1983, with ?W λ(Hβ)? increasing with decreasing?U-B? Based on our spectroscopic and photometric observations in 1978–1990, we assume that V1057 Cyg has passed to a qualitatively new stage of its development after 1985.  相似文献
