The need for improved product quality in the aggregates industry is driving the search for greater automation in rock type identification. In practice, reflectance spectra in visible and near-infrared light may reliably be used for the classification of rock classes and their variants. Previous studies introduced statistical classification of six rock variants by means of infrared spectra. The present investigation extends these studies to cover twelve rock types and variants of worldwide economic importance. These were measured by visible and near-infrared light. Statistical classification of these spectra is highly challenging due to the high number of groups and the high dimensionality of the data. In functional data analysis, spectra are regarded as curves instead of vectors of characteristics. To obtain a compact form that is more susceptible to further analysis, the spectra are represented by a B-spline basis. Two functional versions of linear support vector machines and penalized functional discriminant analysis are considered for classification. The multiclass problem is addressed by margin trees and by considering all one-against-one classifications combined with a voting strategy for testing. Since classification error estimated by 5-fold cross-validation is very low, in particular for penalized discriminant analysis, we conclude that the rock types can be classified reliably.  相似文献

Landslides have had a huge effect on human life, the environment and local economic development, and therefore they need to be well understood. In this study, we presented an approach for the analysis and modeling of landslide data using rare events logistic regression and applied the approach to an area in Lianyungang, China. Digital orthophotomaps, digital elevation models of the region, geological maps and different GIS layers including settlement, road net and rivers were collected and applied in the analysis. Landslides were identified by monoscopic manual interpretation and validated during the field investigation. To validate the quality of mapping, the data from the study area were divided into a training set and validation set. The result map showed that 4.26% of the study area was identified as having very high susceptibility to landslides, whereas the others were classified as having very low susceptibility (47.2%), low susceptibility (22.21%), medium susceptibility (14.39%) and high susceptibility (11.93%). The quality of the landslide-susceptibility map produced in this paper was validated, and it can be used for planning protective and mitigation measures. The landslide-susceptibility map is a fundamental part of the Lianyungang city landslide risk assessment.  相似文献

区域地球化学样品长期以来一直是采用间接方法对实际样品元素分析质量进行评价,有效地提高了区域地球化学样品的整体分析质量,但是当实际样品和外部质量控制样品含量范围差别较大时,间接评价的效果会减弱。本文从区域地球化学样品大部分元素符合标准(对数)正态分布的规律出发,运用SPSS、Excel等软件对区域地球化学调查样品元素含量正态分布情况进行研究,通过计算元素含量实际正态分布图和标准正态分布图的重合度直接评价元素的分析质量。运用整套方法对实验室分析的江西某地多目标区域地球化学样品的分析数据进行了质量评价,正态分布检验表明微量元素需要通过对数转换才能进行正态分布分析,该地区钛、钨、铬等元素不适合用本方法进行质量评价;钴、汞、镓等18个元素的重合度都在0.9以上;氧化钙和氧化钠重合度小于0.9,样品实际结果分析表明需降低分析方法检出限,提高低含量氧化钙和氧化钠的分析质量。本方法对区域地球化学调查样品的分析数据质量的直接评价作了有益的尝试,可以作为现有区域地球化学调查样品质量评价办法的参考和补充。  相似文献

航空伽马能谱测量应用越来越广泛。为了保证航空伽马能谱测量的质量,需要定期利用标准放射源或实验放射源对仪器进行标定和检测,但是缺乏对相关工作人员受照水平的评估。笔者通过测量工作人员在开展航空伽马能谱测量仪器标定及放射源实验过程中的外照射剂量率,估算个人外照射剂量,并与航空、放射性医疗等其他活动的受照剂量进行对比,评价航空伽马能谱测量工作人员的受照水平。  相似文献

Florida Bay is a shallow, semi-enclosed lagoon that has recently experienced significant changes to its ecosystem. These include increased turbidity and the occurrence of cyanobacteria blooms in the central region of the bay. To accurately understand these changes we need to understand the spatial and temporal patterns in observed water quality parameters. To this end, we have used empirical orthogonal functions (EOFs) to analyze both the spatial and temporal variability in an 8-yr record of water quality variables. We have used the EOFs in two ways, one highlighting local changes occurring in the bay, the other emphasizing changes occurring on a bay-wide scale. The local analysis shows that the central region of the bay has the greatest variability in water quality parameters, especially with respect to chlorophyll and nutrient concentrations. The bay-wide analysis shows a different picture. The chlorophyll blooms in the central bay are not apparent bay-wide indicating that they are a local manifestation of processes occurring on a bay-wide scale. The spatial and temporal patterns for nitrate are dissimilar from the other nutrients raising the possibility that the mechanisms controlling nitrate differ from those controlling other nutrients. On a bay-wide scale, spatial patterns are similar to distributions of sediment type and show the significance of interactions between the water column and benthos. Time-series analysis of the EOFs shows that the dominant variation of many water quality parameters is seasonal, even though a system-wide shift occurred between 1994–1995 corresponding to an increase in rainfall and runoff from the Everglades.  相似文献

Sequential Gaussian Simulation(SGSIM)as a stochastic method has been developed to avoid the smoothing effect produced in deterministic methods by generating various stochastic realizations.One of the main issues of this technique is,however,an intensive computation related to the inverse operation in solving the Kriging system,which significantly limits its application when several realizations need to be produced for uncertainty quantification.In this paper,a physics-informed machine learning(PIML)model is proposed to improve the computational efficiency of the SGSIM.To this end,only a small amount of data produced by SGSIM are used as the training dataset based on which the model can discover the spatial correlations between available data and unsampled points.To achieve this,the governing equations of the SGSIM algorithm are incorporated into our proposed network.The quality of realizations produced by the PIML model is compared for both 2D and 3D cases,visually and quantitatively.Furthermore,computational performance is evaluated on different grid sizes.Our results demonstrate that the proposed PIML model can reduce the computational time of SGSIM by several orders of magnitude while similar results can be produced in a matter of seconds.  相似文献

Most laboratories aim to produce data of the highest quality. Trying to lower uncertainties to infinitesimal figures and push detection limits even lower are valid goals. However, is it possible to overachieve? Are old data still of good enough quality to be usable? In a geochemical context, the main goal of producing analytical results is to answer geological or environmental questions. Not all scientific problems require the same data quality. What is really required are data of adequate quality – i.e., ‘fit-for-purpose’– to ensure that the geological problem at hand can be solved. Furthermore, it is doubtful that uncertainties and reproducibilities associated with field sampling are better than those from laboratories. It is thus proposed that, as geoanalysts, we encourage data users (students, colleagues or referees) to ensure that their analytical results are of sufficient quality to solve the problem. However, authors have to demonstrate, through the use of reproducibility testing, reference and quality control materials, that the quality of their results is sufficient to solve the problem. Uncertainties and detection limits in publications should not only be evaluated with respect to a set value, such as 10%, but also with regard to the geological problem to be solved.  相似文献

Drilling engineering is technology-intensive and involves many subjects and large amounts of data. To improve the quality of production and management, decisions need to be made based on the latest data to direct the work on-site. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a safe, reliable, and efficient drilling management system that can meet daily production requirements. In this study, we describe a real-time monitoring system of field data. The system comprises real-time collection of borehole drilling parameters, ground drilling parameters, on-site video and borehole position data, and wireless data transmission to site and rear managers. The system is based on real-time monitoring of field data, the recognition and prediction of the conditions inside the borehole, the wireless transmission of data, and rear-base data analysis and feedback modules. The rear managers can view the real-time and historical drilling data at any time and compare and analyze drilling data by using the rear software of the management system to optimize the drilling program and feedback to the site. The application of the management system in production suggests that it can significantly improve drilling efficiency, reduce drilling costs and accidents in wells, and improve the automation of drilling operations. Moreover, at the same time, it can also predict complex conditions and drilling accidents in time and provide reliable real-time data to drilling technicians for on-site decision making.  相似文献

某勘探区位于宁夏回族自治区南部固原市,具黄土高原地貌特征:黄土冲沟发育,地形切割剧烈,部分沟壁近乎直立,地形总体北低南高,最大高差大568m。该区基岩少有裸露,大多数被第四系所覆盖,盖层厚度一般大于100m,地震激发条件属Ⅲ类区,原始资料存在严重的静校正问题。该区目的层主频率为30Hz,通过试验,采用井深20m、药量3kg及多井组合激发,同时增加排列长度,提高覆盖次数等野外技术措施,改善资料品质。  相似文献

While it is intuitively attractive to link health status and the quality of housing, it is methodologically complex to identify the relative importance of housing because individual characteristics and environmental variables act as confounders. A secondary issue is that the data sets which contain detailed data on health status and environmental variables often contain only limited data on housing. Similarly, housing surveys rarely contain detailed data on health and environmental variables. Respondents from Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver in the public use micro-data files of the 1996/97 cycle of the National Population Health Survey make up the data sets for a series of logistic regression models where health status, allergies, asthma, arthritis, migraines and bronchitis/emphysema act as the dependent variables. Sets of variables which measure housing, the environment (smoking and alcohol consumption) and the socio-economic status of individuals are used as independent variables. The issues of confounders and the limitations of the data are illustrated by the results of the analysis. If we are to go beyond local area surveys and carry out broader analyses of the links between health status and the quality of housing, researchers and data collection agencies will need to re-think the artificial divisions between these two critical aspects of peoples' lives.  相似文献

因围岩质量评价对地下洞室的设计、施工具有重要作用,因此勘察规范对洞室围岩质量评价具有明确的规定。围岩质量评价方法很多,但在勘察阶段,围岩质量的评价结果与实际情况有很多差别。造成这种问题的主要原因是岩体质量评价需要准确而丰富的工程地质数据,而在勘察阶段,洞室围岩的直接数据有限,多为间接数据(物探数据)和推测数据(以地表工程地质测绘数据和钻孔数据为基础进行推测)。根据勘察阶段所获得的工程地质数据,以钻孔中岩心质量与测井数据之间的关系为基础,建立岩体质量与地球物理参数之间的关系,多种地球物理参数对比,可以比较准确地预测目标围岩质量。通过某花岗岩体中钻孔随深度变化的BQ值曲线、RQD曲线、测井曲线和电磁法物探剖面的对比,发现岩体质量与物探数据很难一一对应,但其大致趋势一致。  相似文献

随着气候与环境问题的突出,地球生态系统与大气间的CO2、水汽和能量交换引起更大关注。全球通量网和其它研究计划已在不同地区建立了大量通量站;并主要利用涡动相关方法进行通量的观测与分析。许多通量站设在地形起伏、斑块植被地区,且由于长期连续运转,不可避免地会遇到许多不利气象条件。国内各部门应用的涡动相关方法通量观测系统已有数百套。此方法似乎简单,而较准确的有代表性的通量取得却涉及许多问题。国外近10年来有关研究很活跃,国内则显得相对薄弱。仪器和台站很多,却缺乏合乎国际规范的处理程序和质量控制体系,影响到资料共享和合作研究。应根据国际最新进展和部分台站资料,在做成较规范的湍流资料处理程序的基础上,建立包括通量源区分析的质量控制与保证系统。对地形和植被都较复杂的情况,结合国际上几个较典型的通量站和国内祁连山大野口等通量站特点,做了简要介绍。   相似文献

Current assessments of the role of atmospheric deposition in the declining health of aquatic ecosystems indicate that the atmosphere could account for as much as 30% to 40% of total external nitrogen loading to some coastal waters. All such assessments are uncertain and need to be refined. To focus attention on the problem as it affect eastern North American coastal waters, a series of interdisciplinary workshops has been conducted, bringing together scientists and regulators. The series started with a meeting at Mt. Washington, Maryland in 1994, with subsequent meetings at Warrenton, Virginia in 1995, and Raleigh, North Carolina in 1997. Although the workshops considered all nitrogen species, toxic chemicals, trace metals, precipitation chemistry, airborne aerosols, and supporting meteorological investigation, most of the discussion centered around the issue of nitrogen-species deposition. It was concluded that work is urgently needed to establish integrated monitoring stations to provide high quality deposition and watershed retention data within the catchment area to take spatial and temporal variability into account in atmospheric deposition models, to improve biogeochemical watershed models, especially from the perspective of biological utilization and cycling of deposited materials, to refine emissions inventories and projections on which scenario investigations are based, to enhance all ongoing data collection efforts, especially those related to specific process studies, and to improve spatial resolution by increasing the number of deposition measurement sites. An overall conclusion was that there must be a strong effort to include considerations of air pollution and atmospheric deposition in the water quality regulatory process. It was repeatedly emphasized that any new efforts should build on existing programs rather than risk new starts that compete with ongoing and already productive work.  相似文献

由于条件与经费的限制,在实际地震资料采集过程中,常常会遇到获得的地震资料较稀疏或不规则,导致空间假频、采样不规则的问题,影响地震资料的成像效果。可利用地震道空间插值来解决这些问题,提升地震数据处理结果品质。曲波变换的基函数是具有倾角、频率、时间三方面同时局部化的函数,它可以对空间信号做稀疏表达,适合地震资料的插值处理。本文采用该方法对理论模型数据和实际VSP数据作插值处理,解决不规则采样、空间假频问题。实际应用表明该方法精度高,插值准确,处理结果的振幅和同相轴连续性好。  相似文献

Water supply wells can act as conduits for vertical flow and contaminant migration between water-bearing strata under common hydrogeologic and well construction conditions. While recognized by some for decades, there is little published data on the magnitude of flows and extent of resulting water quality impacts. Consequently, the issue may not be acknowledged widely enough and the need for better management persists. This is especially true for unconsolidated alluvial groundwater basins that are hydrologically stressed by agricultural activities. Theoretical and practical considerations indicate that significant water volumes can migrate vertically through wells. The flow is often downward, with shallow groundwater, usually poorer in quality, migrating through conduit wells to degrade deeper water quality. Field data from locations in California, USA, are presented in combination with modeling results to illustrate both the prevalence of conditions conducive to intraborehole flow and the resulting impacts to water quality. Suggestions for management of planned wells include better enforcement of current regulations and more detailed consideration of hydrogeologic conditions during design and installation. A potentially greater management challenge is presented by the large number of existing wells. Monitoring for evidence of conduit flow and solute transport in areas of high well density is recommended to identify wells that pose greater risks to water quality. Conduit wells that are discovered may be addressed through approaches that include structural modification and changes in operations.  相似文献

The rapid development of the Internet promotes that XML is increasingly accepted as a medium for integrating and exchanging data. Meanwhile, object-oriented database with many excellent properties has been applied more and more widely. In particular, considering the need of processing the fuzzy spatiotemporal data existing in practical applications, we study the methodology of building fuzzy spatiotemporal data model and transforming fuzzy spatiotemporal data from XML to object-oriented database as well. To establish a suitable model, we devise a fuzzy spatiotemporal data model in XML to capture the semantics of fuzzy spatiotemporal features. In addition, we take the object-oriented schema that best describes the exciting fuzzy XML Schema and the characteristics of the XML tree structure into account to develop a series of rules to map spatiotemporal data from XML to object-oriented database. Such mapping rules could provide a significant consolidation of the interoperability of fuzzy spatiotemporal data from XML to object-oriented databases.  相似文献

The ability of oysters to remove large quantities of particulates from the water column, thereby potentially improving water quality, has been cited as one of the reasons for oyster reef restoration. However, this ability has not yet been effectively demonstrated in the field. As part of the Alabama Oyster Reef Restoration Project, this study was designed to assess impacts of restored eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) reefs on primary production, nutrient dynamics, and water quality in shallow tidal creeks. Using a Before–After-Control–Impact (BACI) design, we monitored tidal creeks around Dauphin Island, AL, for changes induced by the introduction of oyster reefs. Reef placement resulted in increased ammonium (NH4+) in two of the three experimental creeks. Interestingly, oyster reefs did not seem to reduce water column particulates or have an impact on phytoplankton or microphytobenthic biomass or productivity. We do not believe that our data discount the importance and/or usefulness of oysters in modifying the water column. Rather, we acknowledge that it is difficult to detect these impacts/environmental services in this type of system (i.e., a tidal creek system), because they seem to be very localized and short-lived (i.e., not ecologically relevant on a creek-wide scale). This study highlights the need to consider location and habitat in planning oyster restoration projects. Also, it demonstrates that the types, magnitudes, and spatial extent of changes in ecosystem services that should be expected after reef restoration might need to be re-evaluated.  相似文献
