In the bounds of the totally nonmetric model of gravitational interaction theory (gravidynamics) the strong field of a compact object (a collapsar) — an analogue to the black hole in general relativity — is investigated. In the case of utmost strong (for gravidynamics) collapsar, field a region filled, by matter (a bag) must have the radius equal tor *=GM/c 2 10 km at the total collapsar massM7M . Only half of the collapsar mass is contained in the bag, the other one of its total energy (Mc 2 ) is distributed in the space surrounding the bag in the form of a coat, i.e., in the form of continuous medium (a relativistic gas) of virtual gravitons. The object must have the surface (the bag surface) with absolutely definite physical properties. The potential of such a surface is finite (+=-c 2/2) and the particle mass finding itself in a bound state on the bag surface is two times less than the mass of the same particle in a totally free state. The bag surface can perform periodic oscillations (pulsations) with the periodGM/c 2 3×10–5 s. An energy density inside the bag with the utmost strong gravitational field or with an utmost dense coat shrouding the bag is determined by gravitation theory constants only and depends on the distance to the bag centerr in the following way: (r)=(c 5 /8G)r –2. The bag matter in the case is most probably in the state of quark-gluon plasma.

Isentropic oscillations of a star in thermal imbalance are defined as those for which, at every istant, the entropy of each mass element of the configuration in the perturbed motion is equal to that of the same mass element in the unperturbed motion. The solution of the equations describing such isentropic oscillations and written in terms of the infinitesimal displacement r(r 0,t) is presented in terms of asymptotic expansions up to the first order in the parameter /t s where is the adiabatic pulsation period for the fundamental mode andt s , a slow time scale of the order of the Kelvin-Helmholtz time. The solution obtained allows one to define, unambiguously, an isentropic part to the coefficient of vibrational stability of arbitrary stellar models in thermal imbalance, as well as to derive a general formula relating the results of a stability analysis in terms of r and r/r.Application of this general solution to the simple case of homologous motion is also given.

With the aid of a simple black hole model of quasars we have found that the majority of the distinguishable emission lines in the spectrum of the quasar 1604+179 can be assigned to two redshift systems,z r =3.712 andz b =2.701. The appearance of double emission redshifts means that this quasar might be a massive black hole (of mass 108 M M1011 M ) with a ring-like emission line region (of radius 1 light-day r 01 light-year) in its accretion disk.

It is shown that the motion of a spinning body with nutation damping due to a series of torque pulses can be completely derived from a regular polygon determined by the ratio of inertias, the integral of one pulse, the momentum and a constantK 0 characterizing damping. The motion is composed of spirals thenth initial radius of which is obtained by connecting the dividing point of the (n–1)th radius with the (n+1)th polygon corner. Each dividing point divides the respective radius in the ratioK 0:1. The net of construction lines converges into an inner polygon turned against the outer one and having the same shape.Simple rules are shown for the application of the scheme on pulse frequencies which are multiples or fractions of spin frequency.

Green's Theorem is developed for the spherically-symmetric steady-state cosmic-ray equation of transport in interplanetary space. By means of it the momentum distribution functionF o(r,p), (r=heliocentric distance,p=momentum) can be determined in a regionr arrbwhen a source is specified throughout the region and the momentum spectrum is specified on the boundaries atr a andr b . Evaluation requires a knowledge of the Green's function which corresponds to the solution for monoenergetic particles released at heliocentric radiusr o , Examples of Green's functions are given for the caser a =0,r b = and derived for the cases of finiter a andr b . The diffusion coefficient is assumed of the form = o(p)r b . The treatment systematizes the development of all analytic solutions for steady-state solar and galactic cosmic-ray propagation and previous solutions form a subset of the present solutions.

Two spherically symmetric time-dependent Green's functions of the equation of transport for cosmic rays in the interplanetary region are derived by transform techniques. The solar wind velocity is assumed radial and of constant speedV. In the first model the radial diffusion coefficient =0 r (0 constant), and in the second solution =0= constant. The solutions are for monoenergetic, impulsive release of particles from a fixed heliocentric radius. Integration of the solutions over timet, fromt=0 tot=, gives the steady-state Green's functions obtained previously.

It is suggested that the minimum mass of a star at the time of its formation is approximately 0.01M . Making use of this fact and the stellar mass functionF(M) M , it is found that the hidden mass (or the missing mass) in the solar neighborhood may be explained by the presence of a large number of invisible stars of very low mass (0.01M M<0.07M ).

A magnetopause that separates two regimes of different flow, additional to the separation of a magnetic field from a field-free plasma, gives rise to the formation of asymmetric Stokes profiles. Using a simple two-layer model atmosphere, where one layer comprises a magnetic field, the other being field-free, it is shown by analytical derivation that a wide variety of Stokes V profiles can be produced, having amplitude asymmetries a in the range –a. These include two-humped V profiles, which have two lobes of equal sign. For the most simple models, the asymmetry depends on the ratio of continuum intensity to the Planck radiation intensity of the magnetic layer at the wavelength of the spectral line under consideration, and on the line depth. Two-humped profiles (|a|>1) require the temperature of the magnetic layer to surpass the temperature of the line-core forming region, implying a temperature inversion, so that the V profile is partially in emission. The confrontation of this formation scenario with properties of observed one-lobe profiles of quiet-Sun network regions is inconclusive due to insufficient spatial resolution and lack of a sufficient sample of simultaneously recorded Stokes spectral lines of varying line depths. It seems, however, to be in good agreement with the observed frequent occurrence of abnormal V profiles of the very strong Nai D 2 and D 2 spectral line. A possible observational verification for the present formation scenario of abnormal Stokes V profiles and a novel method of Stokes inversion are discussed.

We emphasize the sharp distinctions between different one-body gravitational trajectories made by the ratio of time averagesR(t)E kin/E pot.R is calculated as a function of the eccentricity (e) and of the energy (E). Whent, independently ofe andE, R1/2 for closed orbits (this clearly illustrates the fulfillment of the virial theorem in classical mechanics); whereasR1, at any time, for open orbits.

The method of obtaining the estimates of the maximalt-interval ( , +) on which the solution of theN-body problem exists and which is such that some fixed mutual distance (e. g. 12) exceeds some fixed non-negative lower bound, for allt contained in ( , +), is considered. For given masses and initial data, the increasing sequences of the numbers k , each of which provides the estimate + > k , are constructed. It appears that if + = +, then .

As a consequence of the Taylor–Proudman balance, a balance between the pressure, Coriolis and buoyancy forces in the radial and latitudinal momentum equations (that is expected to be amply satisfied in the lower solar convection zone), the superadiabatic gradient is determined by the rotation law and by an unspecified function of r, say, S(r), where r is the radial coordinate. If the rotation law and S(r) are known, then the solution of the energy equation, performed in this paper in the framework of the ML formalism, leads to a knowledge of the Reynolds stresses, convective fluxes, and meridional motions. The ML-formalism is an extension of the mixing length theory to rotating convection zones, and the calculations also involve the azimuthal momentum equation, from which an expression for the meridional motions in terms of the Reynolds stresses can be derived. The meridional motions are expanded as U r(r,)=P 2(cos)2(r)/r 2+P 4(cos)4(r)/r 2 +..., and a corresponding equation for U (r,). Here is the polar angle, is the density, and P 2(cos), P 4(cos) are Legendre polynomials. A good approximation to the meridional motion is obtained by setting 4(r)=–H2(r) with H–1.6, a constant. The value of 2(r) is negative, i.e., the P 2 flow rises at the equator and sinks at the poles. For the value of H obtained in the numerical calculations, the meridional motions have a narrow countercell at the poles, and the convective flux has a relative maximum at the poles, a minimum at mid latitudes and a larger maximum at the equator. Both results are in agreement with the observations.

The muon neutrino-antineutrino flux ratios, viz.,v /v generated from the decays of charged pions and kaons in atmosphere have been derived from the latest primary spectrum and the CERN ISRpp-collision data modified forp-nucleus interactions. The dynamical method of Allkoferet al. (1978) has been used in the present investigation. The estimated result forv /v yields 1.39 and 1.70 asE0 and , respectively. The neutrino fluxes from pion- and kaon-decay spectra have been calculated. Attention has been paid on prompt neutrino spectrum calculation from the decays ofD mesons. A rough estimate on the prompt muon spectrum has been given. The calculated results have been compared with the previous available results.

Recently some authors have questioned whether Newton's law of gravitation is actually true on scales less than 1 km. The available constraints on the gravitational constant show that is laboratory valueG 0 may differ from the value at infinityG by 40%. Long (1976) reported experimental evidence for departures from Newton's law. In this note it is shown that the difference betweenG 0 andG modifies the mass-radius relation of degenerate stars. The observations of white dwarfs are consistent with the theory of stellar evolution only ifG 0 differs fromG by not more than 10%. This estimate may be improved by a higher accuracy of observations.

Conclusions In the Newtonian case we have obtained an isotropic self-consistent distribution of gravitationally interacting point masses which satisfies the transport equation without collisions, and the gravitational equation for an arbitrary powerfunction density distribution =r–s, s<3.For =r–2 the analogous self-consistent solution was obtained for the anisotropic distribution function both in Newtonian and GTR cases. The GTR solutions with =r–2 have central redshifts which increase without limit in accordance with the law 1+zr–1/ as we approach the center. In the isotropic case, they appear to be stable when the mean velocities are much less than the velocity of light u<0.2c, >21.The hydrodynamic GTR solution was found for a perfect gas at constant temperature (but variable T=T(g00)1/2) which also has z for r0.We should like to thank K. Thorne, L. Hazin, and M. Podurets for valuable discussions. K. Thorne was particularly helpful in supplying unpublished results on circular orbits obtained by American authors.Astrofizika, Vol. 5, No. 2, pp. 223–234, 1969  相似文献

We present a scalar-tensor theory whose weak field limit gives exactly the potential proposed by Fischbachet al. (1986). The three experimental constantsG , , and are related to three parameters in our theory. At the level of the theory we have obtained the field produced by a source. The way this field should couple with a massive and charged particle (baryonic hypercharge) is a matter beyond the scope of this work.

The 5-dimensional Jordan-Brans-Dicke cosmologies in vacuum are found for the Bianchi type I metric, their relation with general relativity cosmologies is studied. Two solutions are possible, both produce effective pressure and energy density in the 4-dimensional G.R.-universes. One is a power-law relation, with two cases, the first one is forp eff=eff and the other forp eff=eff(– 1 < < 1) has a behaviour as the open flat universe. The second solution is an exponential only valid forp eff=–eff. In all cases the three-space expansion reaches infinity ast and the fifth dimension can be made to decrease approaching zero. The scalar field can increase or decrease with time.

Line-forming regions around close binaries with strong winds ( /4r * v 10–4 g cm–2) are large in extent compared with the stars, large enough to screen them. Their orbitally-modulated Doppler shifts can overestimate the mass function, because of a larger rotational lever arm. In particular, most of the black-hole candidates need not involve companions more massive than a neutron star. The solar-wind problem is reconsidered. An extrapolation to Wolf-Rayet stars suggests that their winds are centrifugally driven. Their mass-loss rates tend to have been overestimated.Seemingly single (massive) stars can hide a (compact) companion.
