碱、芒硝等盐类矿物薄片的制备

摘    要:盐类矿石薄片的制备方法在国內外的一些文献中有所论述,但多偏重于钾盐矿石和古老盐矿石;至于第四纪盐湖中常见的芒硝(Na2SO4·10H2O)、苏打(Na2CO3·10H2O)和天然碱(Na2CO3·NaHCO3·2H2O)矿石薄片制备的方法介绍甚少。这些含水碳酸盐、硫酸盐类矿物加热易失水,通常置放于室內时表面很快风化失水呈白色粉末状,并易溶于水中,因此不易制成薄片。最近我们作了多次实验,取得一些经验,在此作一介绍以供有关人员参考。实验过程中得到中国科学院地质研究所工厂领导的大力支持和安芷生同志的协助,复照组代为摄制照片,內蒙地质局208地质队提供了样品,谨在此一并致谢。

Abstract:This paper describes the technique for preparing the thin section of salt minerals such as glauber salt (Na2SO4·10H2O), soda (Na2CO3·10H3O) and natural alkali (Na2CO3·NaHCO3·10H2O). The processes are chiefly as follows: 1. A piece of salt mass is roughly grinded with emery using the saturated solution as lubricant until a plane surface is obtained. Then it is Transformered into oil instead of water. 2. The salt slab is then cohered on the mount glass by the gum which was previously treated to make into a rather soft solid (temperature in cohernce does not exceed 40°C). The specimen is cooled rapidly by cold water flow. 3. The cover glass is then mounted with cold gum. 4. When the salt is in loose grains, it is necessary first to dip the sample into liquid polyethylene (use ethylene diamine anhydrous or triethanolamine as hardening agent). After becoming solid, the sample can be treated as before.
