| Abstract: | A 2.3 kJ plasma focus was operated at different pressures with argon, nitrogen and air fillings. It was observed that good focusing action can be obtained by reducing the length of the inner electrode from 150 to 40 mm, when inner electrode has negative polarity. Under the present experimental conditions the optimum length was found to be 40 mm. |
