Abstract:The western margin of Qaidam Basin is located in the tectonic belt of the Western Qaidam Depression, with strong faulting activity, wide distribution of oil and gas, and great uranium mineralization potential. In order to study the relationship between the geophysical characteristics of the target layer and uranium mineralization in sandstone type uranium deposit, firstly, based on the geophysical logging response characteristics, the development of sand body and the range of radioactive anomalies in the area were identified, and the uranium mineralization environment was analyzed. Combined with energy spectrum-geological profile, the radiological characteristics of different strata are studied. The relationship between the content of hydrocarbons and radioactivity in uranium mineralized rock mass is analyzed by chemical analysis and gamma logging. Research shows that: The sandbodies of the target layer in the area are well developed and have a mud-sand interbedded structure and REDOX environment with strong uranium mineralization, and the sandbodies (coarse sand and gravel-bearing coarse sand) have high radioactivity. Uranium mineralization in the area is controlled by hydrocarbon reduction, which provides a powerful reduction barrier for uranium enrichment and mineralization. High uranium anomaly zones (spots) are found locally in the target layer, which provides important technical support for inferred deep extension of uranium ore bodies.
