Abstract:The original Xin'anjiang Model considers the spatial distribution of the water storage capacity with an empirical function,of which the mathematical and physical basis is not clear.Here,based on the relationship between the feature of underlying surface and the thickness of the aeration zone,the water storage capacity curve was derived,which is different from the traditional generalized curve.In order to better describe the distribution of the water storage capacity space,a new function-logarithmic exponential function to replace the parabola to improve the Xin'anjiang Model was proposed to use.Hydrological simulation of the Ningnan basin was carried out by using the Xin'anjiang Model before and after the modification.The results show that the modified Xin'anjiang Model has a small range of parameters and clear physical meaning.It is relatively simple,and the simulation effect of runoff on dry season is better than the original Xin'anjiang Model.
