High-level vortex in subtropical zone and effect on tracks of typhoon 9418

This article explores the structure of a high-level cold vortex in subtropical zone and its genesls and degradation based on the vertical distribution of vorticity and geopotential heigh as well as the analysis of satellite cloud images. The typhoon about lo latitudes away from the vortex was affected by its existence and therefore went across the low level shutropical zone. Owing to the control of subtropical heigh in low and mid-level,the landing typhoons like this only infIuence a small area around its center.
