Some problems in sea level curve establishment

Many published sea level curves from which the eustatic and tectonic effects have not been discriminated, are merely relative sea level curves, resulting in the inaccuracy of the curves and the devaluation of the papers. This paper discusses several problems in the establishment of sea level curve, including datum selection and possible errors involved, tidal genetic error and tidal level correction, identification of the altitude of sea level indicator,displacement of the altitude of sea level indicator and its correction (tectonic movement, sedimentary isostasy, hydroisostasy, sedimentary compaction), the errors involved in dating of sea level indicator, and so on. In addition, some types of sea level curves are briefly evaluated.
