Preliminary Study on Urban Agglomeration Earthquake Disaster Estimation in Pearl River Delta

Urban agglomeration is the product of rapid economic development. Past earthquake cases show that seismic disaster in urban agglomeration region was more complex and severe than that in one single city and had more influence on the society. In this paper, the characteristics of earthquake disaster in urban agglomeration, development and seismic activity of Pearl River Delta are analyzed. Using the existing model and basic data, the earthquake disaster is estimated for Pearl River Delta region. The result also proved that the seismic disaster in urban agglomeration region is more complex and severe than that in one city. Finally, the disaster relieving measures are put forward for urban agglomeration.
