| Abstract: | The work of earthquake resistance and hazard mitigation is an important explorative subject the world over. Based on his own experiences and the first-hand materials obtained, the author proposes the viewpoint that the people are not only the bearers of earthquake disasters, but also the main-stay for disaster prevention and mitigation; expounds in detail the significant role played by the people in self and mutual rescue, resumption of production, and reconstruction of the Tangshan city after the 1976 great Tangshan earthquake. |
