| Abstract: | in this paper, the formation, distribution in the world and some basic characters of calcareoussoils are discribed concisely. The present condition and development in studying static and cyclic properties ofcalcareous soils are explained based on Chinese and foreign data. Conclusion is given and several fields areadvised where the research should be enhanced. |
