Abstract: | The response of balance estimates for the meridional heat fluxes in the North Atlantic to methods of calculating the boundary condition in the north as well as the effects of spatial-temporal averaging of hydrometeorological information is analysed. It is shown that spatial-temporal averaging of parameters during calculation of the surface heat fluxes can not only affect the characteristics of the meridional heat flux variability, but also significantly alter the average values.Translated by Mikhail M.
