Abstract:
The basic law of the fracture propagation in the blasting model with two groups of constructional surfaces is studied with the help of dynamic photoelasticity survey. The experimental model is abstractly established from the rock mass with two groups of main constructional surfaces. The researches show that the speed of fracturing propagation along the constructional surfaces (sides of rhombus)in the blasting model is higher than that of other directions because of its low strength,also the number of fringes caused by stress wave is dense and the difference of principal stress big in the direction of the shortest axis of rhombus. Thus the conclusion is that the fracture induced by stress wave spreads dominantly in the directions of the constructional surfaces and along the shortest axisof rhombus. The experimental results can be used as basis for the design of blasting engineering in the rock mass with a lot of cracks.
