摘    要:面向图层处理单元的GIS数据模型、数据处理模式已不再适应大规模海量空间数据组织、处理以及网络分发的需要。文章提出以空间要素基元处理取代传统的面向图层处理的模式,并在对象-关系数据库(ORDBMS)统一框架下构筑、组织、存储、处理空间数据,最终形成基于ORDBMS的GIS应用。

Abstract:The traditional GIS data models and processing modes based on layer division mechanism no longer meet the needs of huge spatial data sets for organization, processing, and distribution on networks. Taking the spatial primitives as atomic objects, a pyramidal structure can be formed, reflecting the inherent connections between natural objects in different semantic levels. To keep this way on, any natural feature can be represented in an object-oriented methodology. In this paper, consequently, a new manner was proposed to construct, organize, and manipulate spatial data based on object-relational database system framework, replacing the old layer fashion with the spatial primitive based organization. Lately, four imperative issues for the implement of new software framework against the current research phase on spatial data were analyzed.
