| Abstract: | A portable shared memory parallel application program interface (API) OpenMP is introduced. By conducting parallel experiments on a shallow water model and a nested fine-mesh model over the complex topography, its feasibility for the parallelization of meteorological forecasting models is discussed with comparison to Message Passing Interface (MPI). |
