| Abstract: | The paper depicts .the various, development stages of the modem earthquake resistant design theory and the background, the development and research contents of the performance-based seismic design ( PBSD) theory; gives a detailed description of the method of fortification against earthquakes of the PBSD; points out the characteristics of the PBSD theory and the main differences between the PBSD theory and the conventional earthquake resistant design theory. |
