Abstract: | The effects of elastic and electromagnetic (EM) fields are studied as an additional factor of energy exchange in the process of the deformation of a heterogeneous medium. The threshold value of initiating energy, Ktr(kp), relative to the current relaxation process is quantitatively estimated. It is shown that the estimated energy impacts below the threshold can initiate relaxation of local structural stresses and, thus, reduce the risk of a macrofracture. In a seismically active region, a similar scenario of initiation of dynamic development is considered in the local zones of potential sources of earthquakes. The possibility to determine the location, the time, and the intensity of the initiating EM impact is considered. From the experiments, the coefficient of electromechanical conversion is calculated. |
