Abstract: | Three thematic mapper (TM) images, a band 3 image, a band 4 image and a 432 colour composite image of Khartoum were compared for detection, identification and recognition of land use and cover classes in hydrology in Sudan. Simple visual interpretational techniques were employed for this purpose. The results show that visual interpretation procedures can be very useful for an inventory of hydrologic land use and cover using Landsat TM photographic products. This is an important conclusion for developing countries where digital techniques are very expensive at the present and many developing countries cannot afford to make use of them. |
